Friday's - PRAYER!

Friday the 13th... We can PRAY!

PRAYER

Holy YHWH, you are great and sovereign and loving, and we are so honoured to be called your children. You see the deepest hurts of our hearts. You know the things that cause us anguish in the darkest hours of the night. You are not blind to those who throw their pain and anger at us like finely honed weapons. We could stomp our feet and demand that you intervene. We could call to the heavens declaring all sorts of things.

But you know all things, and nothing moves without your say so.

You are faithful and have promised a place where tears won’t exist, and pain will no longer wrench at the heart. You know the hearts of all those people we know, and love and you know whether there is anything within them that, with the right prodding, will call out to you in repentance.

What can we do to save them?

How can anything we say change hearts of stone?

No.

You are the ONE who saves. You are the ONE who plants faith seeds.

You are the ONE who waters the faith and causes it to grow. We are nothing more than vessels and you pour your anointing oil into us and through us. It is only your hand which can move the mountainous rebellion of the heart.

We surrender our desire to control all situations.

We surrender the grasp we think we have on our loved ones.

We surrender our overbearing and stubborn wills to you because we know that when we step back, we make room for you to do amazing things.

We come to you as a group and ask you to do all you must to save those whom we love.

We ask you to shake the very foundations of their false beliefs, so they crumble right before them.

We ask you to leave them with nothing but your abiding and steadfast love so they will see it as the precious gift it is and clutch it to their souls.

Forgive us for our clumsy attempts to do your work.

Forgive us for the times when we give up in defeat thinking that we can do nothing at all when you have called us to surrender and pray.

Remind us each moment to engage those great battle weapons you have given us in scripture against the schemes of the enemy. We bless and worship you for you are the only one who is truly worthy of all devotion. In Y’shua’s name and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
