Liberals moving ahead on assault-style gun ban with legislation, regulation: LeBlanc
LeBlanc reaffirmed federal plans to re-establish the Canadian Firearms Advisory Committee to independently review the classification of existing models that fall under the prospective new definition of a prohibited firearm in the bill.
He said the exercise would identify guns legitimately used for hunting, which would be excluded from the ban.
LeBlanc said the government would also implement a long-planned buyback of some 1,500 firearm models and variants banned through order-in-council in May 2020.
"We are taking the time to get this program right and looking forward to keeping businesses and responsible gun owners apprised of the next steps as we move forward in this direction," he told the senators.

It turns out even Billy Graham’s flagship publication Christianity Today wasn’t safe from the radical pro-abortion activists.
Destroying Christianity from within
The pro-abortion movement has succeeded in taking control of the government, education, entertainment, big business, big labor, and of course the media.
They’ve even succeeded to a large degree in co-opting once-conservative corporations and non-profits.
Even FreedomWorks, once a leading group on the Right, has now succumbed to the pro-abortion rhetoric.
But what many pro-life leaders and Christian activists don’t understand is how successful pro-abortion radicals have been at taking control.
Unfortunately, the radical pro-abortionists are gaining ground at an alarming rate as too many Christian, and even pro-life, leaders sit back silently too afraid to fight back.
Now we are finding out the staff and leadership of Billy Graham’s Christianity Today, which many consider the flagship publication of evangelicalism, has been completely captured by the pro-abortion lobby.

The proof of this is all too clear.
All you need to do is look at who the leaders and staff at Christianity Today donate their political money to.
“Between 2015 and 2022, nine Christianity Today employees made 73 political donations,” Megan Bashman of the Daily Wire reported.
“All of them went to Democrats. This includes donations from Christianity Today’s President and CEO Timothy Dalrymple, who gave two separate donations to failed Democrat Georgia Senate candidate and pro-abortion radical Sarah Riggs Amico.”
Amico is radically pro-abortion and believes abortions must be legal “without exception,” according to the Daily Wire.
But there is more bad news.
Amico’s platform also includes repealing the Hyde Amendment which would force American taxpayers to fund abortions.
Bizarrely, Amico claims abortion, the murder of innocent babies, is healthcare.
The donations were made by Christianity Today’s leaders even though almost two-thirds of evangelicals strongly believe in the Biblical truth that abortion should be illegal in all or most cases, according to a Pew Research poll.
According to the Daily Wire, CT news editor Daniel Silliman “made eight donations to five different pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ candidates, among them, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign.”
Billy Graham, who founded CT, would certainly not be happy about this takeover.
He was against abortion for one thing.
“Abortion has divided our nation like no other issue in recent times. The Bible places the highest value on human life. It is sacred and of inestimable worth to God, who created it ‘in His own image.’ The Bible recognizes the unborn as being fully human,” Graham wrote.
It’s a sure bet Graham would not be part of today’s leftist camp with its extreme views on abortion, homosexuality, and their complete disregard for traditional morality.
Tom Ascol, president of Founders Ministries said, “I grew up reading Christianity Today. My mom was an early subscriber. So, I remember when it was a helpful publication under the leadership of Carl Henry and his contemporaries.”
“The fact that modern CT staff have financially supported pro-abortion, pro-sexual perversion candidates does not surprise me at all,” Ascol said.
“The magazine long ago lost its biblical moorings and has been under the influence of progressives and leftists for years. It’s tragic. And it’s a reminder to evangelicals that institutions that faithful Christian’s build are always in danger of drifting left,” according to the Daily Wire.
If even Billy Graham’s publication can be co-opted by the pro-abortion lobby, it’s only a matter of time before the pro-abortionists expand even deeper into the church.... PRAY!

A legal action was initiated in Colorado during the month of September, with the objective of utilizing the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution as a means to prevent the inclusion of former President Donald Trump on the state’s electoral ballot for the year 2024.
The matter was reported on at the time:
….Six voters in Colorado have filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Denver to disqualify the former president from being included on the ballot if he wins the Republican presidential nomination.
This move is part of a larger push to use Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to keep Trump from winning the presidency.
Six voters in Colorado filed a lawsuit Wednesday seeking to remove former President Donald Trump from the state’s election ballots because of his role in the insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.
Their suit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court in Denver, contends that Trump should be disqualified from running in future elections under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, which states that no person shall hold any office if they “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” after having taken an oath to support the Constitution.
The group called on the court to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot and declare that it would be “improper” and “a breach or neglect of duty” for Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, a Democrat, to allow his name to appear on any future primary or general election ballots.
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) and several law firms filed the lawsuit on behalf of the six voters — four Republicans and two unaffiliated.
On Friday, a court in Colorado rendered a ruling that rejected the second endeavor by the legal team representing Donald Trump to contend for the dismissal of the case.
In her 24-page ruling, Colorado District Judge Sarah Wallace rejected Trump’s argument that matters of ballot eligibility are limited to Congress, not the courts. Wallace also opposed Trump’s argument that state election officials cannot invoke Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
“The Court holds that states can, and have, applied Section 3 pursuant to state statues without federal enforcement legislation,” Wallace wrote.
Wallace’s ruling comes just days before the trial is slated to start Oct. 30.
The initial case presented by the counsel for Trump, which was submitted in October, relied on the constitutional protection of freedom of speech as enshrined in the First Amendment.
Earlier this month, Wallace rejected a separate attempt by Trump’s legal team to dismiss the case, ruling that his objections on free-speech grounds did not apply.
Currently, the matter will remain within the jurisdiction of individual states, as comparable legal actions progress through the judicial systems of both Minnesota and Michigan. In a previous occurrence in October, the United States Supreme Court made the decision to decline a distinct case that aimed to employ the 14th Amendment as a means to prevent Donald Trump from being included on the presidential ballot.
