💥Thoughts for TODAY!

For which cause, we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 4:16 KJV

Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

Psalm 119:114 KJV

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV

2 more Greek Gems:

First Gem: In the Greek text of the New Testament, "of one accord", when applied to worship, refers to the practice of praying together the same words - in other words, following a liturgy. Liturgical (written) group prayer during was not invented by the Church after New Testament times.

Acts 1:14

All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

Romans 15:6 …so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Second Gem: the Greek word for "mercy", found in the Septuagint, translates into English usually as "forgiveness" or "saving grace". But in Greek it also means "healing". It's one word for both.

God's Mercy Displayed in the Ministry of Christ. The great Acts of mercy shown by God to the people of Israel found intimate expression in the ministry of Christ. The pattern he set, however, was not a new one, for he simply worked out the mercy of God at the human level. This is seen most clearly in his Acts of healing. Cleansed of the legion of demons, the healed man is told to return home and declare the mercy that God has shown to him ( Mark 5:19 ). The man had received from God without even asking. Others who beseeched Jesus to heal them or people with various afflictions knew that what they requested was for God to "be merciful" ( Matt 15:22 ; 17:15 ; Mark 10:47-48 ; [par] Luke 17:13 ). And invariably he was. Mercy was manifested in practical help, not simply in a consoling message that God was sympathetic with their plight.

Russia "Defender of the Faith"?

The news tells us Russian troops are bringing peace to the region, said Vitaly Vlasenko, ambassador-at-large for the Russian Evangelical Alliance. “Maybe this is propaganda, but we don’t hear anything else.”

President Vladimir Putin, recently reelected with evangelical support, “is seen as playing a big role to protect the Christian faith,” said Vlasenko, “and a sense of international brotherhood is deep within the heart of Russian Christians.” He emphasized the historic bond between the region’s Eastern Orthodox churches and the 19th-century Russian wars in their defense against the Ottoman Turks.

HISTORY:

War was swirling in Syria. Rebels were pressing. And Maan Bitar was the only hope for American help.

“Because I am evangelical, everyone thinks I have channels of communication,” said the pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Mhardeh. “Syrians believe the United States has the power to stop the conflict—if it wants to.

In the early years of the civil war, Bitar’s Orthodox neighbors were desperate to convince the US and its allies to end support of rebel forces. Mhardeh, a Christian city 165 miles north of Damascus, was being shelled regularly from across the Orontes River.

But salvation came from a different source. Russian airpower turned the tide, and Syrian government-aligned troops drove the rebels from the area. If anything, the US has been the cause of their tragedies and the destruction of their communities!

Russian intervention on behalf of Mideast Christians has pricked the conscience of many American evangelicals. Long conditioned to Cold War enmity, the question is entertained: Are they the good guys in the cradle of Christianity? Or are persecuted Christians just a handy excuse for political interests?

“The news tells us Russian troops are bringing peace to the region, said Vitaly Vlasenko.

Created in 2003, the alliance represents all evangelical denominations in Russia. Before assuming his position, Vlasenko worked 11 years with local Baptists in their external relations department.

Nancy Pelosi lands in Taiwan amid Chinese threats, military activity

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is the highest-ranking US official to visit Taiwan since 1997

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has landed on the island of Taiwan after weeks of international speculation and threats of retaliation from the Chinese Communist Party.

Pelosi, who is conducting an extensive tour of multiple allied nations in Asia, has finally touched down in Taiwan despite repeated threats to the speaker's safety.

Her plane touched down in Taiwan at approximately 10:45am EST.

Pelosi is the first House speaker to visit Taiwan since Newt Gingrich in 1997, and the Taiwanese government has been eager to host the speaker. Diplomatic trips of this level could serve to provide Taiwan legitimacy on the world stage.

China has issued stern warnings against such a visit in previous weeks, including threats from government officials and TV personalities. And President Biden revealed weeks ago that the U.S. military "thinks it's not a good idea right now."

Biden Trumpets ‘Historic’ Nature of Deceptively Named ‘Inflation Reduction Act’:

Last week, President Joe Biden declared a recent spending deal reached by Senate Democrats to be historic” in nature, but as Breitbart’s John Carney reports, the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” is likely to do anything but what its name implies, and it appears that the commander in chief has once again fallen for a web of liberal lies and fantasies.

The Democrats’ long-awaited compromise between Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) came after Biden’s massive Build Back Better plan hit a brick wall, and though the new legislation has been touted by the left as a watershed moment in the fight against the economic troubles plaguing the nation.

However, as Carney points out, the branding is little more than smoke and mirrors, given that the spending provisions it contains will ultimately boost demand, but not aggregate supply, likely exacerbating current structural difficulties.

Supporters of the measure suggest that the budget deficit will be reduced through increased taxes and drug cost controls, but those are not things likely to stem the inflationary tide, in that they do not directly address the fundamental problem of too many dollars pursuing too few available goods, as Carney explains.

The absence in the bill of cuts to government spending also does little to address inflation, and, according to the Penn Wharton Budget Model released last week, the legislation will have virtually no effect on those pressures in the long term, and it will actually increase their impact slightly in the shorter term.

Manchin’s support of the bill was seen as a pivotal moment by Democrats, who claim that amounts to a true revival of the president’s climate change and economic vision, and it has caused some to question how he can be so confident about its supposedly inflation-busting properties when he was admittedly wrong about the detrimental impact of the American Rescue Plan he helped pass earlier in Biden’s term.

Asked Sunday by Fox News’ Bret Baier why Americans should have faith in his judgment this time around, Manchin replied unconvincingly, “I’ll make sure I don’t make that mistake again. Bottom line, I’ll make sure I didn’t make that mistake again.”

Though many– particularly in his home state of West Virginia – are extremely disappointed in Manchin’s reversal on reckless spending such as that embodied in this bill, it is Biden’s apparent willingness to hand the country over to the whims of the far left wing of his party that has drawn particular ire in recent days.

As Real Time host Bill Maher aptly described things, Biden’s dealings with “AOC and the woke people” resembles those of an age-addled grandparent who “just goes along” with the kids. “He doesn’t really understand it. It’s like, grandpa, can we have money to go play Fortnite? And he’s like, yeah, just take it. I don’t know what Fortnite is. I don’t know what TikTok is, just get out of my hair,” and if the trend persists – with the acquiescence of folks like Manchin – the nation truly is in peril. [Main Street Gazette]

The logic behind Vaccine Mandates for Travelers no longer holds:

Zain Chagla is an infectious diseases physician and an associate professor at McMaster University.

There should be no doubt: Vaccines are important in the fight against COVID-19. I wholeheartedly believe individuals should be vaccinated to protect against severe complications. I have put in hundreds of volunteer hours to make sure that evidence-based communication is brought to communities, both locally and internationally. And as someone who also works in travel medicine, I expect that making sure vaccines are up-to-date, including the COVID-19 vaccine, to be part of normal counselling.

But medicine is about recognizing what does and does not make sense based on the prevailing science. That’s why, in February, I questioned the paradigm that existed around stringent global testing and travel restrictions. And while there has been a significant transition away from those measures, we need to bring down the other limits to individual rights that don’t make medical sense. This is why we should reconsider our mandate requiring full vaccination for Canadians boarding a commercial plane or train for travel to domestic and international destinations.

The justification behind vaccine mandates is that they help prevent transmission. But this does not seem to be the case any longer, with the Omicron variant. We know that vaccine efficacy in this regard wanes significantly: Data from the UK Health Security Agency shows the effectiveness of two or three doses of vaccine against spreading the Omicron-variant infection over time approaches zero.

In Canada, the requirements to be deemed fully vaccinated include several World Health Organization-approved vaccines that have even lower efficacy than mRNA vaccines. Furthermore, the efficacy of a prior infection against reinfection approaches that of two doses of vaccines; since many unvaccinated individuals have likely been infected, they may now have a similar level of immunity to their vaccinated peers. Additionally, since Canadians under the age of 12 are not currently required to be vaccinated, unvaccinated individuals have effectively been a part of travel all along – meaning that environments of exclusively vaccinated individuals do not exist. So current mandates are only creating environments in which people who can transmit the virus are alongside people who can transmit the virus, with minimal extra protection.

The current vaccines do offer significant protection against severe disease or hospitalization and, certainly, individuals who are vaccinated are at a much lower risk of adverse outcomes. Some may see this as a reason to consider a proof-of-vaccination mandate for travel. But this minimizes the gradient of risk around age: A triple-vaccinated 70-year-old with diabetes, for instance, would still have a higher risk of hospitalization than an unvaccinated 30-year-old. Of course, discriminating against the ability to travel based on age would be unethical. So, wouldn’t discriminating based on risk of severe disease be unethical, too?

Canada Abandoned Ukrainian Embassy Employees despite their likelihood of being on Russian Hit List:

Before pulling Canadian diplomats out of Ukraine weeks ahead of the Russian invasion, Global Affairs Canada received intelligence confirming that Russia intended to wage war against its neighbour, and that Ukrainians who worked for the Canadian embassy were likely on lists of people Moscow intended to hunt down.

Despite the apparently dire situation, Ottawa told Canadian embassy leaders in Kyiv to withhold this information from those Ukrainian staff members and leave them behind.

These events were described to The Globe and Mail by three Canadian diplomats with direct knowledge of what happened, who say they are troubled by the way Canada left its Ukrainian employees at risk. [The Globe & Mail]

Warning:

Consider all that is Coming:

You need to be aware of all that is coming this fall.

This interview of Jordan Peterson with Michael Yon....regarding the great catastrophes coming...

Then there is the Tucker Carlson interview with former Canadian agriculture minister Gerry Ritz...regardingTrudeau's plan to destroy Canadian farmer lands, and their livelihood.

Then there is Redacted, with Clayton Morris and his wife, talking about Farmland in the US, and agriculture which is not looking good....

Then Jimmy Evan's talking about Israel's agreement with death, and the coming anti-Christ, the beginning of the tribulation...

Now if some of you got your head in the dirt, stating this will never happen to us...we will see everything return to normal.

The false church (pretending to be the false Israel)....think they reign on the earth for a 1,000.years and Jesus will come for His bride who has it all together. Can the bride make herself spotless?

How does the church become the spotless bride? Only when we are in Jesus! (may I add 100% of the time, 24 hours a day). Hebrews 4 makes it clear that only those who come to Jesus, and see their flesh is hopeless to become spotless. It is those who rest in Jesus and Him alone that shall enter His Kingdom !!!

Our hope like the first day of our salvation is JESUS ALONE !!!

By the way it is my opinion from scripture that is why the church has to be raptured.

The church will never become holy and perfect until we are taken to heaven and given the perfect body that will obey His every command.

May God open our eyes to see clearly.

God bless, [Brian Plum]
