Confirmation That US Has Called a Halt To Genocide In Gaza:

What we’re seeing is not anything remotely like the implementation of a comprehensive peace settlement in Palestine. Nevertheless, a halt to genocide is something to be grateful for. It’s also confirmation of a statement that Max Blumenthal made some time ago to Judge Nap, to the effect that “the US could stop the genocide while we’re having this conversation, with one phone call.”

MoA has an excellent summary of what led to this point, which confirms the overall details that we were reporting last night:

MoA maintains that Netanyahu got too cocky and overreached by executing the aid workers and launching a direct attack on Iran (its embassy in Damascus). I agree with the backfire/misfire view with regard to the execution of the aid workers—that may well have been the straw that broke the camel’s back, leading to Pelosi’s call for an end to blank check support for Israel. That definitely looks like hubristic overreach.


On the other hand, I’m not so sure with regard to the direct attack on Iran. Rather than hubristic overreach, I suspect that was a product of desperation—a last throw of the dice to involve the US directly, in the knowledge that without US involvement in a broad regional war against Iran Israel faced certain defeat.

 

Israeli desperation was fueled by three broad factors, in no particular order:

1.      First, the overall failure of military action in Gaza, coupled with global blowback against the genocide.

2.      Second, the devastating effect of Houthi sanctions against Israel—reinforced by a naval blockade, which the US has been unable to end. This economic effect was exacerbated by Israel’s inability to maintain a war economy indefinitely.

3.      Third, unrest inside Israel, also fueled by the huge number of Jewish refugees who have been displaced from Galilee in the north and areas bordering Gaza in the south.

Regarding the seeming lack of a comprehensive settlement, commenter American Cardigan pointed out last night that the US might continue arming Israel even while a ceasefire continued. Undoubtedly. The Dems, having forced Israel into standing down from its genocide will be eager to curry favor to the degree possible with the Israel Lobby, so continued arms transfers seems to be a given—although possibly with some restrictions at this point.


On the other hand, as MoA points out, Israel is having to admit defeat on a major domestic issue for the Israeli government—the return of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza. Further, Israel has surrendered on its two points of pressure: active genocide and starvation.

It appears that the long bruited attack on Rafah that Netanyahu has sneeringly threatened will no be canceled for good, but the return of Israeli prisoners will have to be negotiated under a ceasefire—giving Hamas a strong hand. It seems doubtful that Netanyahu can survive this double whammy along with the continuing DMZ in Galilee that Hezbollah is enforcing.


Significantly, while the US has been adamantly insisting that it did not greenlight the Israeli attack on Iran, top Iranian officials continue to insist that the US was behind the attack—presumably on the arguably correct view that even a few minutes advance notice would have been sufficient for the US to order Israel to abort the strike—accomplished with US planes and munitions. That means that Iran may not be done with retaliation.


Now, I recommend a reading of MoA, but I’ll paste in hear MoA’s excerpt from the Times of Israel, for the Israeli reaction. It pretty much tracks what we’ve been saying:

Yesterday Israel withdrew its last but one brigade from Gaza. Many in Israel interpreted this as an admittance [sic] of defeat:


Is this how the war ends? Not with a bang, or even a whimper, but with the IDF pulling its ground forces out of Khan Younis, and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant asserting, in defiance of reality, that Hamas has “stopped functioning as a military organization throughout the Gaza Strip,” contradicting himself in the next breath, and clarifying a few hours later?


As Israel on Sunday marked six months since the October 7 massacre, the two prime declared goals of the war — destroying Hamas’s military capabilities and bringing home the remaining 129 hostages abducted that day — are patently unfulfilled....Channel 12 TV’s military correspondent Nir Dvori, reading from his notes during the primetime evening news, presumably after a military briefing, echoed the assessment: “We have moved from war to fighting.


The high-intensity [ground] maneuver is finished everywhere in Gaza. The operation in Khan Younis is done. [The IDF] is moving to the system of [more narrowly focused] raids.” Such raids were already being implemented in the north of Gaza, and now they would become the modus operandi in the south as well, he assessed.

Making no effort to conceal his dismay at the material he was conveying, Dvori declared that “the hunt for [Hamas’s Gaza chief Yahya] Sinwar now moves essentially to the realm of intel. 


And Israel, as we see, has given up on [its] two major points of leverage: both military pressure and humanitarian [aid].”

“After half a year,” Dvori unhappily summed up, “Israel remains with three big problems: how to return the hostages; how to bring the residents back home in the south and north [who were evacuated due to the fighting]; and how to set up an alternative to Hamas” to administer the Strip. “If Israel cannot achieve a framework for this, and I don’t know of one, then we are entering a very big problem for Israel,” he concluded.


The radicals in Israel's government also interpret this as a defeat of their aims. They are threatening to blow up their coalition with Netanyahoo over this:

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich issues a statement calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to immediately convene the security cabinet to discuss the state of the war in Gaza, after the army pulled forces out of the southern Strip.

“The only forum authorized to make significant decisions in war is the full [security] cabinet, but unfortunately this is not how things are happening, and we are seeing decisions being made in the smaller [war] cabinet without approval, without updating the full cabinet, under international pressure that is harming the war’s momentum and our security interests,” he says.


Smotrich got that right. DC spoke and told Netanyahu how high to jump, and he complied. Just as Blumenthal said would happen. US complicity in the genocide is thereby exposed—the US could have stopped the genocide at any point between October and the present.

No doubt there will be lots more discussion to come.


Eclipse conspiracy theories unveiled:

Atotal solar eclipse will draw the eyes of millions today as it crosses through Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

Across America, a whopping 99% of people will be able to see at least a partial solar eclipse. And as the countdown begins, conspiracy theorists around the world are going into full panic mode.

 

One theory now swirling around the internet is that the eclipse will cover the entire planet and last for five days.

“I’m going to go out on a limb and say no, that’s not going to happen,” Pat Gray says, adding, “A: It will not cover the whole earth. B: It will not last for five hours, let alone five days. It might not even last five minutes.”

Other conspiracy theorists have pointed out that the eclipse will supposedly pass through seven or eight U.S. cities named Nineveh, which is a city described as “evil” in the Bible.

“Only two of them are in the path of totality,” Gray explains, noting that this theory is likely incorrect as well.

While Gray isn’t sold on the conspiracy theories, he does have some advice for those who will be viewing the eclipse.

“Don’t look directly at it with your naked eye,” he says, adding that “it’ll burn your retina right out of your head.”

Biden About to Be Removed From 2024 Ballot!

In Ohio, a battleground state, Democratic President Joe Biden is up against a significant obstacle to ballot access.

Ohio’s possibly serious election issue surfaced while Democrats were busy applauding Biden’s recent fundraising triumphs.

 

The president might have problems getting his name on Ohio’s general election ballot, according to ABC News.

A recent letter that was written on Friday to the chair of the state’s Democratic Party described the situation in detail.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the Ohio Secretary of State’s office informed Democratic Party chair Liz Walters last week that Biden would not be permitted to be on the ballot unless a state law is amended or the national party convention is conducted earlier than currently scheduled.

 

On August 19, the Democratic National Convention is scheduled to pick their candidate for 2024.

But according to Ohio law, in order for the person’s name to appear on the state ballot in November, that designation needs to be made by August 7.

As the Dispatch pointed out, considering all of the planning that goes into an event that size, a rescheduling of the convention is extremely unlikely.

 

As an alternative, the Ohio legislature might move more quickly to approve a new legislation by May 9.

The bill would enable the Democrats to guarantee the inclusion of their nominee on the state general election ballot by facilitating a waiver.

 

Paul Disantis, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s legal counsel, sent the state party chairman a letter outlining the current situation:

“I am left to conclude that the Democratic National Committee must either move up its nominating convention or the Ohio General Assembly must act by May 9, 2024, to create an exception to this statutory requirement.”

In his letter, Disantis urged swift action.


He told the state Democratic Party head:

“Please contact me as soon as possible with any information that can assure this office of timely compliance with Ohio law.”

“We’re looking into it,” a Walters and state party representative said.

ABC News was informed by a Biden campaign representative that:

“We’re monitoring the situation in Ohio and we’re confident that Joe Biden will be on the ballot in all 50 states.”

 

Ohio has traditionally been seen as a crucial swing state in elections for president.

But as Fox News points out, there has been a change in Ohio in recent years.

The state saw a noticeable tilt to the right beginning in 2016, supporting Donald Trump as the nominee at the time.

Ohio cast a sizable Trump vote in 2020 as well.

 

Nonetheless, some observers think that Ohio may undergo yet another major transformation around 2024.

Voters’ fears about abortion rights following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade precedent may have contributed to the change.

Opinion leaders in politics continue to differ on how things will probably turn out this time.

 

There’s no denying that there are huge stakes, therefore Democrats will be under a lot of pressure to guarantee that Biden appears on the ballot this autumn.

Department of Justice Issues Grand Jury Subpoena to House of Representatives:

The House of Representatives revealed on Monday it has been subpoenaed by the Department of Justice as part of a grand jury investigation. It is unclear what the DOJ is investigating.

During floor action, House Reading Clerk Susan Cole relayed the following letter from House Sergeant at Arms William P. McFarland:

 

The Honorable, the Speaker, the House of Representatives. Sir, this is to notify you formally pursuant to rule 8 of the rules of the House of Representatives that the Office of the Sergeant at Arms for the House of Representatives has been served with a grand jury subpoena for documents issued by the U.S. Department of Justice.

After consulting with the Office of General Counsel, I have determined that compliance with the subpoena is consistent with the rights and privileges of the House.

 

Signed, sincerely, William P. McFarland, Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives.

Veteran congressional reporter Jamie Dupree noted that the lack of a specific jurisdiction in the letter is highly unusual.

“When the Speaker is notified of a subpoena, the name of the court is always included,” he tweeted. “This one just says ‘a grand jury subpoena for documents issued by the U.S. Department of Justice.'”

House Speaker Mike Johnson has yet to comment on the matter.

Dem Reps Make Sickening Announcement About Trump’s Prison:

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) made fun of former President Donald Trump by saying that he would be “visiting” soon and that Republican lawmakers ought to rename a jail after him.

 

Republicans in the House proposed legislation earlier this week to rename Washington Dulles International Airport after President Trump. Democratic legislators responded by introducing legislation to christen a federal jail with the name of the Republican nominee.


The two-page measure, which Connolly and Representatives Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) and John Garamendi (D-CA) unveiled, called for renaming the Miami Federal Correctional Institution in Florida as the “Donald J. Trump Federal Correctional Institution. It is unlikely to pass, much like the Republican bill that would rename Dulles as the “Donald J. Trump International Airport.”

 

In this same prison, Trump’s White House trade advisor Peter Navarro is serving a four-month sentence for evading a congressional subpoena pertaining to the probe into the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

“When our Republican colleagues introduced their bill to rename Dulles after Donald Trump, I said the more fitting option would be to rename a federal prison,” Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia said in a statement Friday.

“I see no reason to wait,” Connolly said. “I hope our Republican friends will join us in bestowing upon Donald J. Trump the only honor he truly deserves.”

Sunday’s MSNBC host Jonathan Capeheart questioned the Virginia legislator about his most recent legislative initiatives.


Well, there’s a nice federal penitentiary right near Mar-a-Lago. And I just thought for a guy who’s now got 88 criminal indictments pending, criminal. Plus two major civil penalty trials that have already been resolved, costing him about a half $1 billion. I think it’s only fitting that if we if Republicans really want to honor Donald Trump, the most appropriate way to do that is to name a federal prison. He might be visiting soon.

CNN challenges Kennedy to defend Biden

However, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. poked a hole in that narrative during a recent appearance on CNN.

And Fox News host Mark Levin called out CNN for shamelessly defending the regime.

Kennedy told host Erin Burnett, “Listen, I can make the argument that President Biden is a much worse threat to democracy, and the reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history, the first president in history that has used the federal agencies to censor political speech, to censor his opponent. You know, I can say that because I just won a case in the federal court of appeals and now before the Supreme Court that shows that he started censoring not just me 37 hours after he took the oath of office, he was censoring me.”

 

Kennedy was placed on a “disinformation” list because of his stance on the COVID vaccine.

He continued, “No president in the country has ever done that. . .The greatest threat to democracy is not somebody who questions election returns but a president of the United States who uses the power of his office to force the social media companies—Facebook, Instagram, [and] Twitter—to open a portal and give access to that portal to the FBI, to the CIA, to the IRS, to CISA, to NIH, to censor his political critics.”

 

CNN shilling for the regime

CNN host Dana Bash ran cover for the Biden administration with the statement, “Joe Biden wasn’t setting out to censor Kennedy’s speech or his political critics. . .His administration was encouraging social media sites to monitor and take down false information about the COVID-19 pandemic. There’s no evidence that Biden himself was involved.”

FOIA requests and court cases have shown that the Biden administration was actively involved in the censorship efforts.

But Bash is desperate to insulate Biden.

 

Levin responded to Bash’s comments on his radio show, saying, “What kind of a stupid comment is that? . . . Did you sit in on all the meetings? Is Biden going to say, ‘Yeah, I told them to do that’? What kind of a stupid comment is that? . . . If Biden didn’t want [the government censorship] to happen — and he has newspapers and briefers and press people all around him — he could have stopped it. But he didn’t . . . What [Bash] is not saying is that when you censor the entire discussion [on COVID-19], you certainly are censoring Robert Kennedy, Jr. and others.”

 

Not only did the Biden administration censor speech around COVID, Biden himself tried to force every business with 50 or more employees to mandate the COVID vaccine. Even though the private sector order was struck down by the Supreme Court, people under purview of the executive branch were faced with the COVID vaccine ultimatum.

It is truly disturbing that media companies like CNN have become pro-censorship.

Ford to lay off workers and delay EV plant in Ontario until 2027:

True North:

Ford Motor Company says it’s delaying the beginning of electric vehicle production at its new plant in Oakville, Ont. by two years.

 

Taxpayers have committed $590 million to Ford in the form of a subsidy partnership between the federal and provincial governments. 

Now, Ford has said the plan will go into operation in 2027, not next year as originally proposed. 

The company says it will take longer than expected to overhaul the Oakville assembly plant into an electric vehicle and battery assembly operation. 

 

Work will start this year, but the equipment required to assemble the EVs won’t be completed for another three years. 

According to Ford spokesperson Said Deep, that means some workers will get laid off. 

“We are committed to taking care of our valued Oakville employees through this transition,” said Ford Canada CEO Bev Goodman. 

“While this change requires a revision to the timeline, it will support a viable and growing future for our company, employees and dealers.”

When the corporate bailout scheme was first proposed, the hefty pricetag of the subsidies received heavy criticism. 

Groups like the Canadian Taxpayers Federation slammed the company, saying that Ford has enough money to cover the cost of the plant itself. When announcing the funding in 2020, Trudeau claimed that the subsidies would “create many good middle-class jobs.” 

 

The Canadian government has another deal with Volkswagen which involves up to $13 billion in grants and subsidies for a new factory in St. Thomas, Ont., sparking further controversy over corporate handouts. 

This investment aims to establish the largest plant in the country, promising 3,000 direct and 30,000 indirect jobs. 

Costing $7 billion, the subsidies will apply post-completion, with the factory’s opening slated for 2027, covering an area equivalent to 378 football fields.

Bernie Sanders is one of the most Radical politicians in the modern world of American politics.

His proposed policies, his ideologies, and his public opinions make even some of the most Left-leaning politicians seem moderate. Recently, one major issue that even the most Radical Democrats have been arguing about amongst themselves is the conflict in Israel.

 

Even though Israel was horrifically attacked in an act of terror, the Left seems to be obsessed with the idea that Israel shouldn’t be allowed to defend itself.

And politicians like AOC, Ilhan Omar, and other extremists have made it clear that they support terrorists, acts of terror, and hate Jews.

 

But now, Bernie Sanders has shocked everyone, even his most Radical colleagues by insinuating that Hamas’s use of civilians as human shields is “not the real problem.”

On a recent episode of “The Lead” on CNN, Bernie Sanders claimed that Hamas hiding among citizens and using them as shields is “perhaps, a part of the problem, but it’s not the real problem.”

 

He also took things even further and claimed that the starvation in Gaza “is Israel’s responsibility, not Hamas’.”

Host Jake Tapper asked for clarification and said, “What do you say to people who say, this is not fair, it’s a double standard, Hamas started this on October 7, Hamas wants to destroy Israel, Hamas wants to kill Jews, Hamas hides behind their own people, Hamas doesn’t care how many Palestinian civilians die — all of which, in my opinion, is true — what’s your response when people say that that –?”

 

Sanders interrupted so that he could answer: “I would agree with you. Hamas is a terrible, terrible terrorist organization that started this war. And what I have said from the beginning, Jake, Israel has a right to defend itself and go to war against Hamas.”

“That’s what I believe. I think most people believe. But you do not have a right to damage or destroy 70% of the housing units in Gaza. You don’t have a right to displace 80% of the population, throw them out of their homes, put them into this area, put them into that area, deny them food, water, medical supplies, and fuel. That, you don’t have a right to do. So, the answer is, of course, Hamas began this war, they are a terrorist organization, but the United States is not funding Hamas,” he added.

 

He continued on and tried to also blame America for the war saying, “We are funding Israel. And what has got to be made clear to Israel, you can go to war against Hamas, but you cannot continue these horrific actions which are causing, literally, the worst humanitarian disaster we have seen in a very long time.”

 

Tapper asked for further clarification saying, “What do you say to people who say the reason that so many innocent people are dying in Gaza is because Hamas embeds with the Palestinian people, they build tunnels under their homes, they hide under people, they want the civilian death toll, they consider them martyrs, and it makes Israel look bad?”

 

Sanders replied, “I think that is, perhaps, a part of the problem, but it’s not the real problem. The real problem right now is, we are looking, as I mentioned a moment ago, [at] massive starvation. That is not caused by Hamas.”

“That is simply caused by Israel not allowing the hundreds and hundreds of trucks that are lined up at the border to get in and go to the areas that it is needed. That is Israel’s responsibility, not Hamas’.”

Was this simply a slip-up on Sanders’ part? Or does he truly believe that Hamas using innocent civilians as human shields is not the problem here?

These are the sort of Radical and harmful ideologies that the Left holds to, and they are extremely destructive and dangerous.

We must be cautious, and we cannot allow the Left to further this harmful agenda.

Last week, the media was abuzz with the massive haul that Joe Biden brought in during a fundraiser where the actors, singers, and liberal moneymen stuffed Biden's campaign coffers with more than $25 million.

Well, Trump just answered the challenge, and the Biden White House and campaign are not too happy about it.

Biden Fundraiser Sets DNC Record with $25 Million Haul

About a week ago, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama joined Joe Biden at Radio City Music Hall for a fundraiser on the same day that Donald Trump was attending services for a fallen NYPD officer. Instead of honoring the fallen officer, Biden was digging into the pockets of liberal elites to stuff his campaign chest.


The cheapest ticket in the House went for about $225, with pictures and other more intimate events for the evening costing anywhere from $100,000 to $500,000. There were about 5,000 people in attendance, and Biden raised more than $25 million at the event, so this was far from the grassroots event that Democrats touted. After the event, Biden campaign co-chair Jeffrey Katzenberg stated:

Trump Raises More Than $50 Million at Fundraising Event

The Biden campaign took victory laps after the event because of how badly the Trump campaign has struggled to raise money. And what money had been raised was mostly going to pay Trump's legal bills. Before Trump held his event, Biden had about a 5:1 advantage in war chests, but that changed dramatically for Trump over the last few days.

 

The moneymen on the right held a massive fundraiser for Trump in Palm Beach, FL, and based on the results, it would appear that the question of whether Republican donors would start to unite around Trump has been answered. Trump's event reportedly raised more than $50 million, which definitely got the Biden campaign's attention. Trump campaign spokesperson Danielle Alvarez took a jab at the Democrats, stating:

"It took three Democrat presidents to raise $25 million and one president to raise over $50 million, Donald J. Trump."

John Paulson, the billionaire hedge fund founder behind the event, added:

"The response to our fundraising efforts has been overwhelming, and we've raised over $43 million so far.

"There is massive support amongst a broad spectrum of donors."

As we noted above, this definitely got the attention of Biden, who immediately took a dig at Trump's event while twisting the truth about his own donations. Joe Biden posted a video on his social media accounts, claiming this was "Scranton versus Palm Beach."

Analysis

Rest assured, Joe Biden has just as much money coming from liberal elites as Donald Trump does from conservative elites. For March, Biden raised $90 million, but as stated, more than $25 million came from that one event and roughly 5,000 people. Donald Trump and the RNC brought in more than $65 million in March, ending the month with $93.1 million cash on hand. While Biden had the edge in March, Trump's April is obviously off to a massive start.

Health Canada Sells $170M Worth of COVID-19 Ventilators for ‘Scrap Metal’

COVID-19 ventilators purchased under a $169.5 million contract by Canada’s health agency have been sold as scrap metal, according to government records.

 

New ventilator parts in unopened shipping cartons bearing the Canadian Emergency Ventilators branding were auctioned off during a three-month period ending in February 2023, according to records obtained by Blacklock’s Reporter. The ventilators were bought by the Public Health Agency of Canada under a sole-sourced contract.

The ventilator parts were sold for as little as $6 a carton out of a warehouse in Concord, Ont., by GC Surplus. The Canadian Emergency Ventilators were listed as “scrap metal.”

 

“Canadian companies are answering the call,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in back in 2020 when praising StarFish Medical, a manufacturer of Canadian Emergency Ventilators. “This is exactly the kind of innovative and collaborative thinking we need.”

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, countries scrambled to secure enough ventilators to help those experiencing health complications from the respiratory virus. But the introduction of COVID-19 vaccines, coupled with the discovery that elderly patients did not fare well on ventilators, meant their usage declined in late 2020.

 

Back in June 2022, more than 40,000 ventilators the Canadian government had ordered earlier in the pandemic were sitting unused in the federal emergency stockpile. Just over 2,000 of them had been deployed in Canada or abroad.

The Department of Public Works would not say how much it paid for the devices, and said in a statement that it did not take delivery of all ventilators it ordered, according to Blacklock’s. A spokesperson added that while the initial value of the contract was $15,820,000, it would not disclose the price per unit or total number purchased to “protect commercial confidentiality.”

Back in 2020, the House of Commons ethics committee was told the $169.5 million contract allows the government to acquire 7,500 devices, the equivalent of $22,600 per unit. At an industry committee meeting in 2020, StarFish Vice President John Walmsley said it had “not been a cheap enterprise.”

“In order to deliver a safe product fast we have paid for contingencies that we have not necessarily needed,” Mr. Walmsley said. “We have custom machined parts in Canada rather than ordering ready-made parts from overseas but we still needed to source some key components internationally.”

 

Mr. Walmsley also said the company assigned “over 30 design engineers” to speed up development of the ventilators. StarFish Medical in a 2021 statement said the machines were “absolutely outstanding.”

“StarFish Medical designed a Health Canada certified ventilator in six months, normally a multi-year effort,” it said.

Ukrainian citizens must realize that none of them will be able to escape mobilization as Kiev’s military suffers personnel shortages, Land Forces Commander Aleksandr Pavlyuk warned in a Facebook post on Monday.

Last Wednesday, Ukraine lowered the military conscription age from 27 to 25 in an effort to replenish its depleted ranks.

 

In his message, Pavlyuk urged Ukrainians “to put aside their emotions,” and enlist in the Armed Forces, stating that “the army and the people are inseparable” and that “the protection of the state is the constitutional duty of a citizen.”

“It is necessary to understand that no one can sit this out. The face of the country, the fate of our people is at stake,” the commander wrote. He suggested that no one would be spared by Russia in the fighting, “neither those who hid, nor those who betrayed Ukraine.”

 

The general admitted that the situation on the front line “is not easy” but suggested that it was “far more predictable and controlled” than it was two years ago. However, he stressed that no matter how much help in the form of money or weapons Ukraine receives from abroad, it is still lacking in manpower.

 

Pavlyuk also noted the negative attitude of Ukrainians towards the employees of the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCC) which are in charge of mobilizing the population. The general insisted that such hostility was unacceptable, as many of the TCC workers were veterans, and stressed that citizens “have no right to make them feel guilty, unwanted or unsafe before those whose lives they literally saved.” At the same time, he admitted that “the TCC system is not perfect” and that the government is working on improving it.

 

Previously, the general had said he felt no sympathy for any Ukrainians who had died while trying to avoid being forcibly drafted into military service and suggested that no such feelings should be expressed towards draft dodgers because it undermines mobilization efforts.

 

That was after reports revealed that dozens of Ukrainian men had drowned while trying to swim across the Tisza River on the border with Romania to escape enlistment. Additionally, the Ukrainian Border guard service released images of officers beating and humiliating dozens of men who were caught during attempts to be smuggled across the Ukrainian border.

 

According to the latest figures from the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine has lost more than 80,000 troops since January and more than 444,000, including 166,000 killed, seriously wounded, or captured, since the beginning of the conflict.
