Thought(s) for the Day:

The truth about the Canadian Wildfires:

As wildfires burn across the country, the Trudeau government is once again jumping at the opportunity to use a tragedy to advance their political agenda.

Despite the fact that provincial governments have not concluded why these wildfires were started, the federal government along with the activist legacy media already know the culprit – it’s the invisible gods of climate change, of course. The reality is climate change has nothing to do with it.

In Canada, wildfires have been decreasing since 1990. Further, numerous wildfires in Canada this year alone have already been determined to be the cause of humans intentionally setting forests ablaze. Arson charges are coming thick and fast for these people across the country. In Quebec, the provincial police are investigating arson as the cause of the Quebec wildfires which have been the focus of most of the world’s media.

All of a sudden, things look awfully similar to how they looked back in 2021. Masks are being recommended. School boards are shutting down outdoor extracurriculars and Premiers are delivering daily press conferences to give the media their marching orders.

On the latest episode of Ratio’d, Harrison Faulkner seeks to explain why.

Russia is mad (and I don't mean insane)… [ANGRY]:

You won't see the full June 7 statement by Medvedev anywhere except here:

Personally, I think Putin will restrain the hawks for now. Then, when Erdogan fires up the Muslims in Europe (destabilizing NATO), Russia and Turkey will join forces to move into Europe to "bring peace". But Erdogan will double-cross Putin and Russia will have to destroy the Muslim forces as well as NATO forces. This scenario fulfills a whole lot of Catholic and Orthodox prophecies and sets the stage for the fulfillment of Protestant prophecies (that the Anti-Christ breaks the covenant of peace and hi-jacks the revived Roman/Byzantine empire). If you want to read the Catholic/Orthodox prophecies let me know. (I'm not going to attach them all here.) [Patrick Bestall] BESTALL <bestall81@yahoo.ca>

Ukraine is being forced to carry out its much-hyped counteroffensive in order to justify the weapons and money it received from the West, claimed ex-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in a Telegram post on Wednesday.

He suggested that if Kiev doesn’t show its “masters” a return on their investment, the West’s disappointment with the Ukrainian government could end up costing its top officials not only their jobs but even their lives.

“The enemy has long promised a great counteroffensive. And it looks like something has already started,” wrote Medvedev, apparently referring to Kiev’s attempt to launch a large-scale offensive operation in the southern part of the Donetsk People’s Republic on Sunday. Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that Russian forces successfully repelled the thrust, destroying a large number of Ukrainian combatants and Western-supplied military equipment in the process.

Medvedev noted that the launch of such an operation came as no surprise, since “the Kiev regime has no choice. It must attack. It has to justify the money and weapons it has received.” He added that “the disappointment of [Kiev’s] overseers may cost Zelensky and his friends not only their posts, but their lives as well.”

The former Russian president then suggested that it would only take a few reports from “American agents,” which he says have long been in control of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), in order for the “cocaine gang” to be “instantly written off as scrap” for wasting American taxpayers’ money.

“Moreover, they will delegate it to someone else, as they like to do in Langley [the CIA headquarters],” said Medvedev. “They will give the order to some radical low-lifes to do away with the drug addict [Zelensky] for treason against Ukraine and the Bandera cause, and then hang him by his feet along with his henchmen,”

he added.

“Therefore, the Kiev regime has only one way out – to go to the end, sending thousands of mobilized to their deaths,” Medvedev concluded, insisting that Russia must not underestimate the enemy and launch its own offensive to completely “overthrow the Nazi Kiev regime.”

Last month, Medvedev, who currently serves as the deputy chairman of Russia’s National Security Council, claimed that Ukraine has no future in its current form and that the collapse of its statehood is inevitable. He stressed that the “Nazi government in Kiev’’ must be destroyed in order to prevent the ongoing conflict from dragging on in perpetuity.

Federal Investigator Speaks on Plane Crash That Killed Top Trump Donor's Family: 'Everything Is on the Table':

A small plane that caused a stir when it flew over the nation’s capitol and crashed in Virginia left behind “highly fragmented” wreckage in a mountainous area that will take days to gather and sort, a federal investigator said Monday.

A day after the unresponsive plane caused the military to scramble fighter jets, NTSB investigator Adam Gerhardt told reporters it will take investigators a while to reach the remote crash scene about 2 to 3 miles north of Montebello in mountainous terrain. They expect to be on the scene for at least three to four days.

Attention on the crash and its cause were heightened by its unusual flight path over Washington and a sonic boom caused by military aircraft heard across Washington and parts of Maryland and Virginia.

Speaking at a briefing Monday morning, Gerhardt said the wreckage is “highly fragmented” and investigators will examine the most delicate evidence on the scene, after which the wreckage will be moved, perhaps by helicopter, to Delaware, where it can be examined, he said. The plane is not required to have a flight recorder, but it is possible, and there are other avionics equipment that will have data that they can examine, Gerhardt said.

Investigators will look at when the pilot become unresponsive and why the aircraft flew the path that it did, he said. They will consider several factors that are routinely examined in such probes including the plane, its engines, weather conditions, pilot qualifications, and maintenance records, he said.

Trending:

“Everything is on the table until we slowly and methodically remove different components and elements that will be relevant for this safety investigation,” he said.

A preliminary report will be released in 10 days, and a final report will be released in 12 to 24 months, he said.

Police said Sunday night that rescuers had reached the crash site in a rural part of the Shenandoah Valley and that no survivors were found. It was not immediately clear how many were on board. Virginia State Police said officers were notified of the potential crash shortly before 4 p.m. and rescuers reached the site by foot around four hours later.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the Cessna Citation took off from Elizabethton, Tennessee, on Sunday and was headed for Long Island’s MacArthur Airport. Inexplicably, the plane turned around over New York’s Long Island and flew a straight path down over D.C. before it crashed around 3:30 p.m.

Do you believe that the military's response to the plane was appropriate?

The plane flew directly over the nation’s capital, though it was technically flying above some of the most heavily restricted airspace in the country.

According to the Pentagon, six F-16 fighter jets were immediately deployed to intercept the plane. Two aircraft from the 113th Fighter Wing, out of Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, were the first to reach the Cessna to begin attempts to contact the pilot. Two F-16 aircraft out of New Jersey and two from South Carolina also responded to the incident.

Flight tracking sites showed the jet suffered a rapid spiraling descent, dropping at one point at a rate of more than 30,000 feet per minute before crashing in the St. Mary’s Wilderness.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command said in a statement that the military aircraft was authorized to travel at supersonic speeds, which caused a sonic boom that was heard in Washington and parts of Virginia and Maryland. The aircraft also used flares to try to get the pilot’s attention.

The plane that crashed was registered to Encore Motors of Melbourne Inc, which is based in Florida. John Rumpel, who runs the company, told The New York Times that his daughter, 2-year-old granddaughter, her nanny and the pilot were aboard the plane. They were returning to their home in East Hampton, on Long Island, after visiting his house in North Carolina, he said.

Rumpel, a pilot, told the newspaper he didn’t have much information from authorities but suggested the plane could have lost pressurization. “It descended at 20,000 feet a minute, and nobody could survive a crash from that speed,” Rumpel told the newspaper. A woman who identified herself as Barbara Rumpel, listed as the president of the company, said she had no comment Sunday when reached by The Associated Press.

John and Barbara Rumpel are prolific donors to Donald Trump and other Republican causes, records show.

The episode brought back memories of the 1999 crash of a Learjet that lost cabin pressure and flew aimlessly across the country with professional golfer Payne Stewart aboard. The jet crashed in a South Dakota pasture, and six people died.

Fox News tells Tucker Carlson he violated his contract with new Twitter show:

Fox News told Tucker Carlson's lawyers Wednesday that the former star anchor breached his contract with the conservative network when he released the first episode of a new show on Twitter this week, according to a source with direct knowledge of the matter.

Carlson, a firebrand right-wing media personality known for his conspiratorial rhetoric, parted ways with Fox News in late April, days after the network agreed to pay nearly $800 million to Dominion Voting Systems to avert a high-stakes defamation trial. In a letter to Carlson's lawyers, Fox News general counsel Bernard Gugar said the broadcaster was "in breach" of his contract, which was signed in November 2019 and amended in February 2021.

In a statement, Carlson's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, insisted that any legal action by Fox News would infringe on Carlson's First Amendment rights.

"Fox defends its very existence on freedom of speech grounds," Freedman said. "Now they want to take Tucker Carlson’s right to speak freely away from him because he took to social media to share his thoughts on current events."

The news was first reported by Axios. NBC News has not seen a copy of the letter; the source with direct knowledge of the matter confirmed that all of the information in the Axios article was accurate.

Top spokespeople at Fox News did not immediately respond to an email and a text message requesting comment on the Axios report. Carlson launched his new show Tuesday night with a roughly 10-minute video titled "Ep. 1." In the video, Carlson claimed without evidence that Ukraine perpetrated an attack on a large dam in Russian-occupied territory that unleashed devastating floods. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has forcefully accused Russia of carrying out the attack, and U.S. officials have said intelligence suggests Putin's regime was behind the incident. In a briefing Tuesday, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said President Joe Biden's administration was assessing reports that Russia was responsible.

Moscow denies any involvement.

Twitter owner Elon Musk tweeted after Carlson posted the first episode of his program that it "would be great to have shows from all parts of the political spectrum on this platform!"

Carlson, who established himself as a key voice in the modern conservative movement from his influential perch at Fox News, announced he was creating a show for Twitter in a May 9 video titled "We're back."

What could the Ukraine dam disaster mean for Russia's war?

Military analysts and Ukrainian officials said the timing of the Kakhovka dam breach, just as speculation mounted that Kyiv had launched its counteroffensive, may not be a coincidence.

The destruction of the Kakhova dam Tuesday unleashed a torrent of water on southern Ukraine, threatening to sweep away villages and halt Ukrainian hopes of advancing across the Dnieper River.

As officials scramble to evacuate thousands, experts assess the environmental toll and both sides trade blame, one key question hung over the flooded fields of Kherson: Who, if anyone, might stand to gain from this stunning turn in the war?

NBC News looks at what the disaster could mean for the conflict. What could be in it for the Kremlin? Ukraine immediately pointed the finger at Russia, whose forces controlled the dam and parts of the surrounding region.

The incident came less than 48 hours after Moscow claimed that Kyiv had launched its long-anticipated counteroffensive, and Ukrainian officials and Western military analysts said the timing may not be a coincidence.

The Kherson region, annexed and partly occupied by Russia, has long been seen as a likely target for Kyiv, almost seven months after it liberated the region’s capital in an offensive blitz. Follow along for live updates

That pushed Russian troops into an embarrassing retreat across the Dnieper River, which now bisects the front lines, while Moscow kept control of the Soviet-era dam. Ukraine warned previously that Russia might be planning to blow up the dam, while Moscow said the same about Kyiv.

“Russia would stand to gain most,” said Christopher Tuck, an expert in conflict and security at King’s College London. It “would only have made military sense to Ukraine while Russia was on the western side, which it now isn’t, and it never made political sense.”

The increased intensity of Ukrainian attacks across the front lines this week may hint that the counteroffensive has begun, but the breadth of the battlefield will now be reduced. That, analysts said, benefits Russia.

Both sides stand to lose something, Horowitz said.

“This does wash away some of the defenses the Russian army built along the coast and will certainly have an impact on many settlements in areas Russia controls,” he said, adding that for Kyiv, “this is an ecological disaster, coupled with the prospect of losing one of the major sources of energy in southern Ukraine.”

Indeed, some analysts wondered whether the act was deliberate at all or rather a result of reckless negligence by the Russian forces controlling it.

In the months before the breach, experts raised concerns about damage to the dam and warned that the reservoir behind it was too full from heavy rains and snowmelt. “In which case, it’s a disaster for everybody,” said Frank Ledwidge, a lecturer in military strategy at the University of Portsmouth in Britain and a former military intelligence officer.

What now for the war?

It’s too early to tell how the disaster could shape Ukraine’s counteroffensive, especially because Kyiv has kept its plans secret. But the fallout from the dam collapse could both hinder planned ground attacks and force Ukraine’s government to focus attention and resources on recovery efforts. “One imagines they knew it was a possibility,” said Phillips O’Brien, a professor of strategic studies at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Wet and muddy conditions on the ground may have already delayed Ukraine’s counteroffensive, making it difficult for heavy equipment to traverse a lot of ground.

“Now, just as it was beginning, this could leave huge areas swamped for a long time,” O’Brien said. “If that was their intention, it definitely makes it far more difficult.”

But it seems highly unlikely that the breaching of the dam will prevent the counteroffensive from taking place entirely, Tuck said.

“River assaults are problematic, so it would seem more likely that the main Ukrainian attacks will take place along land axes rather than across the Dnieper,” Tuck said. “But the flooding might disrupt prospective secondary Ukrainian attacks from that direction.”

It’s also a sudden and significant distraction for the Ukrainian government, he said.

The sheer shock of the dam collapse and the scale of the fallout could point to another potential Russian motive: an audacious warning to Ukraine that it might be willing to throw in other — previously unthinkable — twists to try to change the course of the war. Ukrainian and global officials have been warning for months about the vulnerability of the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Europe’s largest. Russia controls southern areas of the Zaporizhzhia region, and any Ukrainian advance in the area would thrust the plant into the center of the action.

“If Russia did blow up the dam, the question is would they do the same with the nuclear plant they control that also sits in a key area of the front line?” Horowitz said.

Comer claims Hunter Biden emails prove Joe Biden 'lied' about financial connections:

According to a leading GOP investigator, newly disclosed emails between Hunter Biden and his business associates with the Obama White House cast further doubt on Joe Biden's claims that he was unaware of his son's business dealings.

According to emails recently disclosed by the National Archives to the conservative organization America First Legal, Hunter Biden, and his former business associates were in frequent contact with senior Obama administration aides while Joe Biden was vice president, as The Washington Examiner reported. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), who is heading a comprehensive investigation into the Biden family, told the Washington Examiner that the emails demonstrate that Joe Biden repeatedly "lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge of his son's business dealings."

"We know Hunter Biden’s business associates visited the White House numerous times during the Obama-Biden administration, and now-unearthed emails reveal Hunter Biden and his associates sought access to the White House and official government events," Comer said.

"The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the Bidens' complex financial transactions to determine the extent of their influence peddling schemes to determine if President Biden is compromised and our national security is threatened."

Thursday, a smattering of Republican members of Congress expressed concern over the unearthed emails to the Washington Examiner, with Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) claiming that the "Biden family's corruption" is "far worse than Watergate."

The emails and records on Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop, which were reviewed by the Washington Examiner, indicate that Hunter Biden's longtime business partner Eric Schwerin contacted Joe Biden's top aides in 2010 to see if an associate could attend a lunch with Chinese government officials hosted by the State Department.

Other records indicate that Hunter Biden initiated contact with Alan Hoffman, Joe Biden's then-deputy chief of staff, on June 3, 2020, and requested to "talk about Africa."

Soon after, Hoffman responded, "Always available for you," and later that day, Hunter Biden contacted Anthony Bernal, a former advisor to Jill Biden, in an email titled "Nairobi ideas." Hunter Biden traveled to South Africa as a Secret Service protectee in August 2010, according to a report by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) titled "Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption: The Impact on U.S. Government Policy and Related Concerns."

Legislators told the Washington Examiner last week that newly released National Archives documents pertinent to Africa could aid Republican-led investigations into Hunter Biden's business dealings in the continent.

"The American people deserve answers, transparency, and accountability," Comer also told the Washington Examiner.

Comer announced on Monday that he will move forward with holding Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with his subpoena for a document purportedly documenting a "bribery scheme involving a foreign national and Joe Biden when he served as vice president."

Early in the month of May, the chairman of the Oversight Committee joined up with Grassley to demand access to an FBI-generated FD-1023 form purportedly outlining the scheme. Monday, Comer and House Oversight Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) viewed a form with an alleged expiration date of June 30, 2020. Bureau agents utilize FD-1023 forms to document unverified accounts from confidential human sources. According to multiple reports, the information was brought to the attention of Comer and Grassley by a "highly credible" and "at least several years" FBI informant.

Raskin asserted during a press conference on Monday that the Trump administration investigated the whistleblower's allegation and found "no grounds" to escalate it… [continuing the COVER-UP]
