As an On the GO subscriber and supporter with The Cross Current, I wanted to personally share with you this massive ministry update before it’s announced nationally and internationally across digital media.

 

Here’s the context…

In 2006 I was a pastor desiring to be equipped for evangelism and found the training I needed from my friend and mentor, Ray Comfort and Living Waters in Southern California. What a blessing!

I was so inspired by the experience that the very next year I founded The Cross Current (TCC) to equip evangelists and entire churches for everyday evangelism together.

 

Fast forward to 2025. Last year me and TCC were privileged to partner with Ray and Living Waters to produce a conversational evangelism training docuseries on our YouTube channel!

Leading Living Waters Canada

 

Since reconnecting with my evangelism roots, I have also been invited into an exciting partnership. With the approval of our TCC Board of Directors, I have agreed to volunteer my leadership to launch a Living Waters Canada (LWC) ministry.

 

Though my title will be Director, please know that LWC already has the support team in place to ensure that this assignment won’t at all diminish my primary role and responsibilities as Founding President of TCC. On the contrary, my volunteer work with LWC promises to equip our TCC team with many more tools for evangelism and bring us together with many more evangelists, pastors, and churches who urgently need help!

 

This new leadership role with LWC will certainly be of mutual benefit to both ministries as I continue recommending Living Waters resources to all Christians. However, one of the greatest challenges TCC has faced toward fulfilling our mission is finding and training more Equipping Evangelists. As taught in Ephesians 4, Equipping Evangelists are simply disciple-makers in evangelism with and for their own local churches.

Two Ministries, One Purpose

Living Waters Canada will serve as both the top-tier street seminary for educating Equipping Evangelists, and also the ultimate online store for ordering evangelism and outreach resources.

 

After LWC graduation, The Cross Current can also coach any Equipping Evangelists under the leadership of their local churches to equip every saint for conversational evangelism with lost loved ones, and gospel outreach with their communities together.

 

This gospel ministry partnership unites two distinct ministries with one common purpose: equipping more evangelists, Christians, and entire churches to share Christ in Canada together.

Homelessness Reduction Innovation Fund: 16 projects to solve homelessness are underway  

The first 16 projects under the Homelessness Reduction Innovation Fund (HRIF) are under way and second round projects are already starting to roll out.

County of Simcoe paving the path to reduce unsheltered homelessness with new Bridge Housing project  

The Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH) and the County of Simcoe are launching an innovative new Bridge Housing program to pave the way out of the housing crisis. Bridge to Stability — A County of Simcoe Bridge Housing Program for Unsheltered Homelessness, and the project is the first in Canada to be funded through the second round of the Homelessness Reduction Innovation Fund (HRIF).  

The objective is to reduce unsheltered homelessness by 20% in Barrie and across the county over the next year by supporting 50 people to exit homelessness and move into permanent housing.

Celebrating Marie Morrison’s contributions and dedication to CAEH! 

Marie is retiring at the end of March, so we wanted to take a minute to acknowledge her and all the amazing contributions she has made over her career.  

Marie’s work in the housing and homelessness sector started 25 years ago. She worked with the Region of Waterloo as a system manager for homelessness, where she helped coordinate federal, provincial, and local funding in the region’s response to homelessness.


In 2014, Waterloo Region was a CAEH pilot site and were one of the first communities in Canada have real-time, by-name data on homelessness in the community. This transformed the local system to become coordinated in serving people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness, focused on ending homelessness, not just managing it!  

In 2017, Marie joined CAEH when it was a team of five, and now it has grown to over 40 team members. Built for Zero Canada was launched in 2019 and Marie was critical in spearheading it at CAEH.


When she started, people did not know what by-name data was. Through her work, she has empowered communities to implement data and coordinated systems as foundations in reducing and ending homelessness. She has been inspired by seeing the impact communities have when they take a continuous improvement approach that focuses on progress over perfection and failing forward. 


What is a quote or piece of advice that has stayed with you over the years? 

Over the years, I often remember this quote by Jim Rohn, "Don't wish it were easier. Wish you were better." I hope we have helped in a small way to make this work a bit easier, less lonely, and made us all better in working to achieve our mission to end homelessness.

National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent resigned Tuesday claiming Iran “posed no imminent threat.” But CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed that’s not true.Ratcliffe told the Senate on Wednesday that Iran had been requesting intelligence assistance from Russia and China — and had developed specific plans to strike U.S. interests across the region.“I think Iran has been a constant threat to the United States for an extended period of time and posed an immediate threat at this time,” Ratcliffe said.If “left unimpeded,” Ratcliffe warned that Iran “would have the ability to range missiles to the continental United States.”

The Democrats’ DHS shutdown may be about to shut down some American airports.A senior TSA official warned this week that if Congress doesn’t end the DHS shutdown soon, some airports may have to “quite literally shut down.” As TSA officers miss paychecks, hundreds have already quit and callout rates are through the roof, which has sent security lines at airports across the country literally out of the door.“It’s not hyperbole to suggest that we may have to quite literally shut down airports — particularly smaller ones if callout rates go up,” the official warned.

On how PTSD and grief impacts his life: “This year I’m going to my best friend’s son’s graduation. He died in Iraq, and his son was barely, I think at that point he was barely like eight months old. He never got to know his dad growing up. So it’s there for me every day. And that’s why I get frustrated when I see potential mistakes again, and the very cavalier attitude that I think our government has toward our men and women and potentially putting them in harm’s way.”


On whether Democrats can be the “fun” party in 2028: “The part that we really messed up is that, you know, for too long we went from being a party that was kind of forward-leaning, futuristic, adventurous, and for a while we kind of became scolds and mad at everybody, at everything. In some weird way, now that the Republicans have taken over and they’ve, you know, won at least temporarily some of the culture wars, they’re the ones that actually look like the scolds, right? — What Pete Buttigieg’s 2026 travels mean for 2028.

DRIVING the Day...


MIDLAND, Michigan — Pete Buttigieg is known for going everywhere to get his message out in the media. In 2026, he’s taking that strategy offline, too, traveling virtually everywhere.


A source close to Buttigieg tells Playbook he’s spent half of 2026 on the road, hitting 10 states so far — including battleground states Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and his adopted home state Michigan, plus a multiday swing across for-now-first-in-the-nation New Hampshire. And he’s not yet hawking books like some of his would-be 2028 rivals. He’s stumping for candidates up and down the ballot.


While potential 2028ers like Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro focus on flexing midterm-year dominance in their own backyards, Buttigieg is embarking on a more national project to position himself as a super surrogate not confined to specific geography or demographics. It’s a strategy that could help him counter the base of power that comes from holding elected office.


Buttigieg laid out his midterm strategy to Playbook in an exclusive interview after gripping and grinning and taking selfies along a ropeline: “The basic idea is to make myself useful to candidates and causes that I care about and that we all need to succeed,” he said at Mi Element Grains & Grounds, a combination microbrewery, bakery and coffeehouse, after launching a canvassing effort backing Chedrick Greene in a special election to determine control of the Michigan state Senate.


“Every kind of state, red, blue and purple, there are races going on and fights going on that I want to make sure I'm part of,” Buttigieg told Playbook. “And they are all often very different from each other, but what they have in common is leaders who are very rooted in a sense of place. They're very much of where they're from, and I think represent a big part of what the future for Democrats is going to look like.”


Buttigieg has increased his engagement with Black candidates like Greene and the community more broadly, addressing a perceived weakness. A source familiar with Buttigieg’s past outreach to the Black community described his efforts as a “natural extension” of his work on his 2020 presidential campaign and in the Biden administration.


“It’s a recognition that engagement in those spaces and showing up in 2026 is going to be a huge indicator of who's going to be the leader of this party,” this person, granted anonymity to candidly appraise Buttigieg’s approach, told Playbook. “I think it's really smart to think along those lines, and to show, right? Not just talk about it, but to actually show and demonstrate it.”

FBI receives final surveillance footage of Nancy Guthrie hours before the 84-year-old vanished from her Tucson home



Surveillance video capturing Nancy Guthrie's last known movements before she disappeared has been turned over to the FBI, adding another piece to an investigation that has now stretched nearly seven weeks without a single arrest or named suspect.

The footage shows the 84-year-old riding in an Uber on January 31, en route to her daughter Annie's house. Police received the video and interviewed the driver. Their conclusion: "nothing of substance." It was "just a regular pick up and drop off."


Guthrie returned to her $1 million Tucson home just before 10 pm that evening, driven back by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni. Within hours, she was gone. Drops of her blood were found on the front porch. Police believe she was taken from her bedroom in the early hours of February 1.


A masked man and hundreds of hours of footage

On February 10, the FBI released surveillance footage showing a masked man at Guthrie's doorstep on the night she disappeared. Investigators described the discovery as "odd," and the agency said it is reviewing hundreds of hours of surveillance footage as part of the case.


According to The Daily Mail, reports from earlier this month revealed that a Ring camera located 2.5 miles from Guthrie's home captured 12 vehicles passing around the time she went missing. The FBI is understood to have recently recovered thumbnail images connected to the investigation, though no on-the-record source has confirmed the details.

Nancy Guthrie has lived in the same home since the 1970s. The property, now marked with "No trespassing" signage, has been turned back over to her family.


A family caught between hope and grief

NBC Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, Nancy's 54-year-old daughter, has previously acknowledged the possibility that her mother may not be found alive. In a social media video she described as gut-wrenching, she said plainly:

"She may be lost. She may already be gone."

That kind of public honesty from a grieving family member deserves respect, not the slow drip of anonymous sourcing and bureaucratic non-updates that have characterized this case. Nearly seven weeks in, the family has put up a $1 million reward. The FBI has offered $100,000. And still: no arrests. No suspects named. No answers.


When the system moves too slowly

There is something deeply unsettling about a case where an elderly woman is taken from her own bedroom in the middle of the night, blood is left behind, a masked figure is caught on camera at her door, and the public response from law enforcement amounts to reviewing footage and asking for tips.


This is not a cold case from 1987. This is a woman who vanished seven weeks ago from a home she'd lived in for over fifty years, in a city with cameras everywhere and a family with the resources to push for answers. The Guthrie family has done more to generate leads through their own reward than the investigative apparatus has produced publicly.

Americans increasingly feel that law enforcement is stretched thin, reactive rather than proactive, and hamstrung by processes that prioritize caution over urgency. Cases like this one reinforce that feeling. The question is whether the people tasked with finding her are moving fast enough to act on it.


The footage is now with the FBI. The family is waiting. Tucson is watching. Seven weeks is a long time when every hour matters.

The official story of 9/11: On 11 Sept. 2001 a coordinated series of Islamic terrorist s*****e attacks were perpetrated by al-Qaeda against the United States. Nineteen terrorists hijacked four airliners, and then flew one into each of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in New York City. The third plane crashed into the Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, in Arlington County, Virginia. The fourth plane was downed by it’s brave patriotic passenger/victims in a rural Pennsylvania field.


The 9/11 attacks which k****d 2,977 people and injured thousands more, were blamed on Osama bin Laden, a violent terrorist and founder of al Qaeda.
