Ottawa won’t rule out imposing retaliatory tariffs on the United States if the White House moves ahead with a new wave of trade actions. “Everything’s on the table if there’s no agreement,” Prime Minister Mark Carney said. At the close of his first ministers meeting in Charlottetown, he also said avoiding punitive measures is his main goal.
More tariffs: U.S. President Donald Trump will impose duties of between 10 and 12.5 per cent on dozens of countries in his latest effort to maintain a baseline levy on nearly all of America’s trading partners.

British Columbia is expected to face a wildfire season as harsh as some of the worst on record, with spring weather projections appearing to mimic the devastation in 2017, 2018 and 2021.
On the ground: The entire village of Clinton in the southern Interior is under an evacuation alert. Conditions in East Kootenay, near Kimberley, worsened yesterday as warmer temperatures, stronger winds and abundant receptive fuel increased fire behaviour and smoke production.

Houthis threats send oil back to $100 a barrel
Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels said they attacked two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea on Thursday, potentially widening the Iran war. Tehran and the U.S. have also stepped up their attacks as they vie for control of the Strait of Hormuz. Markets responded, as Brent Crude hit US$100 a barrel for the first time since May.
The context: Since the conflict began in early March, Saudi Arabia has been ramping up its use of alternative shipping routes. More than 93 crude oil tankers were operating in the Red Sea on Tuesday, compared to 50 tankers a day before the war, Kpler, a maritime intelligence firm found.

U.S. deportations quietly surge
After being largely out of the public eye since January, immigration crackdown sweeps are attracting renewed attention after ICE killed two immigrants. Andy Pelcher, a lawyer at a non-profit that handles immigration-related litigation, said the roundups are continuing apace, even as they’ve had less visibility than previous surge operations.
The numbers: ICE arrested 39,563 people in June, its highest-ever monthly total, according to figures released this week by the agency. That same month, Republican lawmakers authorized a further US$70-billion for the deportation campaign. In July so far, ICE is approaching an average of 1,500 arrests a day.

The Globe and Mail set out to see if it could design an AI-powered bot that can make campground bookings exactly when reservations open. We did, and it was easy.
The ethics: The bot clicked its way from the log-in portal to the payment page in around 15 seconds. Experts say this sort of bot is much harder for booking websites to detect because it mimics a human consumer’s behaviour. Maybe this trend will give campgrounds the impetus to create a system that’s fairer, less stressful – and where bots won’t have an edge.

Pagan Aztec war dance takes over LA Catholic cathedral sanctuary
The sacrilegious ‘Aztec Mass’ event featured pagan Aztec music and war dances with immodest performers near the altar of the Los Angeles cathedral.
LOS ANGELES (LifeSiteNews) — The Archdiocese of Los Angeles allowed the performance of a “Misa Azteca” (“Aztec Mass”) concert, which featured pagan Aztec music, dances, and poetry in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels last month.
The sacrilegious June 27 event, held in the mother church of the largest archdiocese in the United States, combined the sacred music of the Catholic Mass, such as the solemn “Kyrie” chant and the “Ite Missa Est,” with pagan Aztec rhythms and indigenous instruments accompanying the cathedral orchestra.
The event also featured Aztec war dances being performed near the altar, with the dancers immodestly dressed, and Nahua poetry.
Joseph Julián González, the composer of the “Misa Azteca,” claimed that the Mass composition was born out of his devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe and recalled how he felt inspired to write it after the “Kyrie” from the High Mass played to an Aztec dance rhythm popped in his head, believing this was “divine inspiration.”
“It’s so beautiful, the way that God really wanted to bring all people, including the indigenous, to himself,” González said. “It enriches our knowledge of the Guadalupe event, and it enriches our Catholicism.”
While the Catholic Church has always sought to bring people of all cultures together, it has also always condemned the concept of syncretism, or the blending of pagan and other non-Catholic rituals, such as Aztec dances, with Catholic practices.
Furthermore, González saying that devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe inspired the creation of this composition is deeply ironic, as Our Lady appeared to St. Juan Diego to convert the Aztec and other indigenous peoples in the New World to the Catholic faith.
Despite the Church’s clear teaching, syncretism has become common in many Catholic churches across the globe in recent decades.
Perhaps most scandalously, during the 2019 Amazon Synod, a ceremony honoring the Andean fertility “goddess” Pachamama was held in the Vatican Gardens before Pope Francis, cardinals, bishops, and priests.
A group that included Franciscan friars knelt and prostrated themselves, foreheads to the ground, before two wooden statues of Pachamama. The ritual was led by a woman with a painted face and headdress, who later processed to Pope Francis and placed rings on his fingers. A second woman brought to him a Pachamama statue, and Francis blessed himself before it, blessed it, and took it as a gift from the woman.
Following the ceremony, the Pachamama idols were processed into the Paul VI Hall, where the pope, cardinals, and bishops met for discussions at the Amazonian Synod. Later, the Pachamama idol would be processed into St. Peter’s Basilica, where, again, the pope and cardinals stood around it, praying.

(LifeSiteNews) — Elon Musk said he would be willing to fund Mel Gibson with $100 million to make a historically accurate adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey.
On July 22, Musk responded to a post by X user John Carter who wrote the following: “I want Elon Musk to give Mel Gibson $100 million to film an Odyssey adaptation with painstakingly historically accurate ships, armor, weapons, and casting, with all dialogue taken straight from the original poem and delivered in Homeric Greek.”
Musk replied by stating, “I’m down.”
However, whether Musk’s pledge amounts to a firm offer is unclear. Shortly after this reply, he responded to a scene of the Odyssey created by his AI model Grok Imagine. Musk wrote: “Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer.”
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey adaptation has been heavily criticized, especially due to its “woke” DEI casting, including a role for gender-confused actress Ellen “Elliot” Page. The movie was also under fire for multiple historical inaccuracies such as using armor that did not fit the time the story was set in.
Some of Gibson’s films, on the other hand, are lauded for their historical accuracy, like The Passion of the Christ, in which actors speak in Aramaic and Latin, in accordance with the practice in the Holy Land in the first century. In Mel Gibson-directed blockbuster Apocalypto, which is set in 1511 in Latin America, all of the actors are native Americans who only speak Mayan.
Even if Musk made an offer to fund Gibson’s version of The Odyssey, it remains unknown whether the director would accept the project. He recently finished the filming of The Resurrection of the Christ, the much-anticipated sequel to The Passion of the Christ, which is scheduled to be released in two parts on May 6, 2027, and May 25, 2028.

Medical experts suggest that between 1.2 million and 1.5 million embryos are currently stored in cryopreservation across the country where only a minute fraction will ever be thawed and implanted. Compared to the 1 million lives lost to elective abortion annually, the IVF industry is showing a significantly higher volume of lost, conceived lives.... the standard practice is to transfer only one embryo at a time leaving approximately 85 percent of the other created embryos (more than 2.5 million) to be frozen, discarded, or donated for scientific experimentation.
In addition, what used to be seen as a last resort for infertile married couples, the IVF market is now seeing demand from same-sex couples “purchasing gametes and hiring surrogates” to get babies.

Confirming that China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and other malign actors have the capability to compromise U.S. election infrastructure, as well as evidence that the Maduro regime in Venezuela successfully developed methods to digitally alter vote totals in undetectable ways — information that has major implications in our own elections.
Foreign adversaries were attempting to interfere in our election. For example, President Trump exposed how China obtained the personal data of 220 million American voters — names, addresses, phone numbers, and party affiliations — during the 2020 election cycle, representing the largest known compromise of U.S. voter information in history. Intelligence agencies knew about this breach in at least 18 states and kept it hidden from the President and Congress. China even assigned a dedicated data exploitation unit specifically to this operation.
A Department of Homeland Security review identified approximately 278,000 non-citizens registered to vote in federal elections across just four states that cooperated with the Department’s request. Because many Democrat-led states refused to provide their voter files, the actual number is significantly higher.
Multiple independent analyses have warned for years about the heightened risks of mail-in ballots. And when your ready begin to bring your gentle awareness back to your breath. Feel the body. Feel the space around you. Feel the support beneath you. Knowing that the wisdom you receive is not somewhere outside of you, it lives within you. The guidance of Divine Source is always available. The Love of the Higher Realms is always present. And your I Am Presence is always shining, quietly illuminating the path before you. Take one final deep breath. And as you exhale gently affirm, “I walk forward in life. I walk forward in Trust. I walk forward in Divine Guidance. And so it is.” This is the Era of Peace.
Meditation Thought: This meditation is an invitation to return home to your Inner Self.
Your higher self knows the way. It speaks as intuition, longing, quiet wisdom of your heart.
Now allow your eyes to gently close. With each breath, feel yourself arriving more fully in your body. Bring your awareness now to the center of your chest, to your heart. In your heart is your sacred threefold flame, the divine spark of your true being.
Notice a brilliant blue flame representing divine power, faith, and protection. Besides it burns a radiant gold flame embodying divine wisdom, illumination, and understanding. Along these a beautiful pink flame, shines brightly, radiating divine love, compassion, and creative intelligence.
Together these three sacred flames burn eternally within you.
1. The blue flame strengthens your trust in spiritual power.
2. The golden flame awakens wisdom and inner knowing.
3. The pink flame extends unconditional love throughout your entire being. Now allow these sacred three flames to merge into one magnificent radiant sun within your heart.
Feel this Divine Presence expanding throughout your entire chest. Feel the warmth. Feel the love. Feel the remembrance. You are not separate from the Divine. You are an expression of it. And this sacred three-fold flame is the eternal reminder of who you truly are. It is the eternal spark of the divine that lives within you.
Now imagine from the base of your spine and the soles of your feet, roots of light begin to extend deep into the Earth into the crystalline heart of Mother Earth. Feel her loving presence. Ancient. Wise. Steady.
Now bring your awareness upward. Imagine a beautiful column of luminous light descending from above. A stream of pure divine consciousness flowing from Source. The light enters through the crown of your head. Gentle, loving, wise. Allow this light to pour through you like a sacred waterfall, flowing through your crown, your third eye, your throat, your heart, your solar plexus, your sacred center, your root. A perfect alignment of Heaven and Earth. You are the bridge. You are the meeting place of Spirit and form.
As this light moves through you imagine each energy center awakening into harmony and coherence. Everything that is no longer aligned with your highest good gently dissolves into the light.
Allow every cell of your body and being to receive this frequency.

4. To Do: Humans are Creator Beings which is one of our superpowers that we can utilize now. Our thoughts create matter; the invisible creates the visible. So, Stand Up by co-creating the outcomes that we want. Focus your Thoughts on the Golden Age of Mankind, envision it and it will be so. Focus your thoughts on Freedom and it will be so.
