News Analysis

Major players on the international stage will be descending on Canada next week for the G7 Summit, which is already rich in storylines before even kicking off.

A sizable amount of new baggage exists between some of the leaders, and the event will also feature many fresh faces.

Among the seven-member countries of the group of advanced economies, there has been significant change since last year’s conference, with five leaders having been replaced in elections.

Only French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni are making a return to the summit this year, to be held in Kananasksis, Alberta, from June 15 to 17.

New governments were elected in the United Kingdom and Germany, and Japan’s ruling party changed its leader in an internal vote.

Closer to home, Prime Minister Mark Carney, who was a regular in international circles and organizations before entering politics and winning the recent federal election, will have the task of hosting the summit and ensuring it runs smoothly while attempting to make progress on some key relationships.

The most consequential election in the G7 was that of U.S. President Donald Trump, and it will no doubt be the objective of Carney and other leaders to work on that relationship as a priority. Trump has upended global trade with his tariffs agenda, and shook some international files by taking a different approach from that of his predecessor.

Close U.S. ally Canada has not been spared, having been hit with three different sets of tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.

High-Level Diplomacy

Nonetheless, the Canada-U.S. relationship has evolved since the federal election. Carney had a relatively positive visit to the White House in early May, even though the trip saw no breakthroughs around trade. The two leaders have since remained in direct contact regarding the issue.

Shortly after the meeting at the White House, both sides said Canada is in talks to join Trump’s “Golden Dome” program, a new major air defence project to counter modern missile threats.

Ahead of the G7 meeting, and the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague later this month, Carney also announced that Canada will meet the NATO defence spending guideline in 2026, several years ahead of what his predecessor had pledged. Trump has long criticized NATO allies for not pulling their weight. Moreover, providing greater military protection to Canada for “free” had been part of his spiel about making the country the 51st U.S. state.

That messaging from Trump has subsided of late. He has been dealing with crises on multiple fronts, some of which will be addressed directly with leaders at the summit who have their own set of issues with the United States. Some are similar to Canada’s, especially in the case of Mexico, which is also targeted by Trump’s fentanyl tariffs.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said this week she will attend the summit and seek to hold a first in-person bilateral meeting with Trump.

Aside from tariff-related issues, Sheinbaum has in recent months pushed back on the U.S. intention to go after drug cartels inside Mexico with military assets. Washington, followed by Ottawa, designated a number of cartels as terrorist organizations earlier this year, and countering fentanyl trafficking has been high on Trump’s agenda.

Sheinbaum said in early May she had told Trump that “sovereignty is sacrosanct” when he suggested sending the U.S. army against Mexican narcotraffickers. “We will never accept the presence of the United States military in our territory,” she said.

Other areas of tension relate to Trump’s major budget bill, which proposes a tax of 3.5 percent on remittances—international money transfers—sent by non-citizens in the United States. A large number of Mexican nationals work in the United States, both legally and illegally, and send parts of their earnings to family and friends abroad. Trump’s current immigration crackdown is another issue affecting Mexico.

Modi Visit

It is customary for the G7 Summit to feature leaders outside the group of seven advanced economies. The summit in Italy last year saw the participation of the late Pope Francis, along with the leaders of other countries such as Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, India, and Ukraine.

Some of them have been invited again this year by Carney, as Canada holds the G7 presidency.

The invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the biggest surprises, given the state of relations between Ottawa and New Delhi.

Canada has accused the Indian government of having a hand in violent criminality on Canadian soil, including in the murder of pro-Khalistan activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Vancouver in June 2023. Canada has the largest proportion of Sikhs outside India, and a portion of them advocate for the carving out of a Khalistan homeland in India’s Punjab region.

Ottawa expelled Indian diplomats last year over alleged links to criminality, including India’s high commissioner. New Delhi has said Ottawa’s accusations are politically motivated and has criticized Canada for letting Khalistani separatists organize and agitate against India.

“There is a law enforcement to law enforcement dialogue that is occurring between those two countries,” Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand said on June 10 when asked by reporters whether Canada is trying to normalize relations with India by inviting Modi. She added that Canada is hosting global leaders to hold talks on energy security and stability, and “it is therefore important for all countries who are being invited to be at the table.”

Modi’s visit to Canada will likely increase the workload of agencies tasked with securing the summit.

Khalistani extremists were responsible for the worst terrorist attack in Canadian history in the bombing of Air India in 1985.

More recently, Canadian ministers expressed concerns for the safety of Indian diplomats in July 2023 after posters advertising a pro-Khalistan rally in Toronto carried the words “Kill India.” The protest was in response to the killing of Nijjar weeks earlier.

If protests against Modi’s visit occur, they may increase the number of participants in other ongoing protests, such as those against Trump’s visit.

Authorities will establish zones for protests in Calgary and Banff in a bid to facilitate security operations, although lawful demonstrations elsewhere will still be allowed. Meanwhile, access to the Kananaskis mountain resort where the summit will be held will be tightly controlled.

Oval Office Drama

Aside from India, there will be other interesting dynamics concerning Ukraine and South Africa. The presidents of both nations had surreal encounters with Trump during visits to the White House in recent months.

In front of world cameras in the Oval Office in February, Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy got into a heated argument about the Ukraine-Russia war, leading to a temporary breakdown in relations and the suspension of some U.S. support.

When South African President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the White House in May, he was publicly confronted by Trump with allegations that white South African farmers are being killed on a large scale and with impunity.

“They take the land, they kill the white farmer, and when they kill the white farmer, nothing happens to them,” Trump said. Ramaphosa rejected the claim that such killings are taking place and said that “nobody can take the land.”

The South African president remained calm during the exchange. He recognized that there’s a serious problem with criminal violence in his country and asked Trump to collaborate on the matter.

Before the meeting, Trump had issued an order to cut aid and assistance to South Africa, valued at more than US$430 million, over its policies against white farmers and its position of accusing Israel of genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Zelenskyy and Ramaphosa are each seeking a bilateral meeting with Trump at the G7 summit. Security issues will be on the table for both, along with trade. South Africa has been waiting for a response from the Trump administration to its proposed trade deal, following Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs imposed in April. Ukraine has also proposed a free-trade deal with the United States.

South Africa will host the G20 later this year, and Ramaphosa will likely try to convince Trump to attend.

Awaiting Saudi Decision

One leader who has a good relationship with Trump is Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Media reports citing anonymous sources say Carney has sent an invitation to the prince, who has yet to confirm whether he will attend.

Relations between Canada and Saudi Arabia underwent turmoil in recent years, with Riyadh expelling Canada’s ambassador in the summer of 2018 following a statement from Ottawa criticizing the human rights situation in Saudi Arabia.

Later that year, Canada responded to the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi by sanctioning 17 Saudi nationals for being “responsible” or “complicit” in the killing, which took place at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul in 2018.

While Bin Salman denied he had ordered the assassination of the Saudi journalist, he said in 2019 that he took “full responsibility” for it.

Ties were mended in 2023 with the two countries appointing new ambassadors, following talks between Bin Salman and former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Saudi Arabia is a major economic player as a top oil producer and also holds considerable sway in the Arab and Muslim worlds.

Other leaders expected to attend the summit include Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Carney said Canada’s priorities for discussions at the conference will encompass “three core missions”: strengthening peace and security, including countering foreign interference; building energy security, including fortifying critical mineral supply chains; and creating stronger economic partnerships, including catalyzing private investment to build infrastructure.

G7 leaders typically issue a long communiqué following the summit which outlines stances on a wide range of issues, from the global economy to localized conflicts.

The summit this year will mark the 50th anniversary of the G7 and the sixth time the event takes place in Canada. The last Canadian summit was held in 2018 in Charlevoix, Que., while Kananaskis was the location for the summit once before, in 2002.

It was leaked that Carney has promised Donald Trump first refusal rights to our natural resources. This is particularly concerning given that they obtain our oil and gas at significantly reduced prices.

This potential scenario could result in continued reliance on their economy, thereby perpetuating our dependence and undermining Carney’s assurances of independence. That was his whole campaign promise of keeping our elbows up! International Man: Palantir is a data analytics and AI company known for its work with governments, particularly in defense, intelligence, and law enforcement.

Critics argue it enables mass surveillance, predictive policing, and military applications. A significant portion of its revenue comes from classified government contracts, and some allege ties to the Deep State.

What is your perspective on Palantir?

Doug Casey: When Palantir was founded in 2003, all the initial funding came from Peter Theil and In-Q-Tel, an investment arm of the CIA. The US government and its agencies are by far its biggest customers, along with foreign governments and large corporations. Its revenues have grown around 40% annually since it went public in 2020.

The nature of Palantir’s clientele underlines what I’ve been saying about fascism as an economic system: Almost every country in the world is fascist—the economic system characterized by a total melding of the interests of government and large corporations.

Remember that Benito Mussolini coined the word “fascism” and defined it to mean the integration of the State with privately owned business. It’s different from socialism, where the State owns the means of production.

Fascism makes it possible for businessmen to become wealthy by catering primarily to the needs of the State, as opposed to the public. Corporations, by their nature, focus on creating wealth. That wealth becomes available to their shareholders, their managers, the State, and the apparatchiks in government who help the corporation. Fascism is naturally much more efficient than socialism, which always and inevitably generates losses. While fascism can look like capitalism, its prime interest is serving the State—not serving either consumers or workers.

Palantir is the Platonic ideal of a fascist business. It caters exclusively to the State and large corporations, to manipulate the public.

International Man: If Palantir’s viability relies heavily on government contracts and support, can it genuinely be classified as a legitimate private enterprise?

Doug Casey: In the Constitution, State intervention in the economy is justified with just a few words in Article 1, Section 8. The Commerce Clause gives Congress the power “to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes.” And the General Welfare Clause, which grants Congress “the power to lay and collect taxes to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States.” It’s quite a leap from those little clauses to the government essentially controlling the entire economy.

Companies like Palantir rely on the government and big business—not the people—for their revenue.

Palantir has grown like a cancer since its founding, but that growth has really metastasized under Trump. That’s rationalized by the fact that, if the US is going to round up the 10 or 20 million migrants who are in the US illegally, it needs to find out who they are. So Trump strongly supports “REAL ID,” which facilitates the government knowing exactly who everybody is, where they came from, where they live and work, who they associate with, and everything else about them. That will make it easy to extract the migrants from society. Everyone’s “papers” must be in order. But to do this, legitimate Americans will need the same ID.

The very name of the company, Palantir, is a tip-off. In Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, the Palantir is a stone that allows the viewer to see everything about the past, present, and future. You couldn’t hide from it. Peter Thiel chose that name for a reason.

That’s what the company is supposed to do: integrate data from everywhere. Right now, the data of government agencies is basically siloed. What one agency or department knows is not readily available to another. But Palantir will integrate and centralize all of it, plus everything they can scrape from corporate and other private data banks. This is extremely dangerous. Super dangerous. This thing is going to be a truly all-seeing eye.

Does Trump understand this? Or is he just a thoughtless useful idiot? Once the infrastructure for integrating all government data, plus what they can scrape from the internet, corporations, public cameras, cell phones, and you-name-it is in place, it’s pretty much game over.

Even if the Trump regime doesn’t use it in a genuinely nefarious way, as the Democrats claim he will, there’s no guarantee that the next president won’t use it. In fact, it’s almost certain the next president will. Once you have a tool, you use it. Anyway, the Deep State has a life of its own, independent of the two parties. The data that Palantir is putting together will definitively centralize political and economic power within the Washington Beltway.

International Man: The Israel Defense Forces use Palantir’s AI to identify and target locations in Gaza, the US Department of Defense employs it for drone surveillance analysis, and the Los Angeles Police Department has adopted Palantir’s predictive policing tools to forecast crime trends. And Palantir is creating a Federal database on American citizens.

Where is this going?

Doug Casey: It’s most regrettable, but also inevitable. That’s because anything that can be imagined—including dystopian things predicted by science fiction—can probably be done in the real world. Anything that can be done probably will be done. And now that the technology exists, it is, in fact, being done.

Palantir is centralizing all the data in society. And with the growth of the State taking an increasingly large percentage of GDP—from perhaps 5% 125 years ago to close to 50% today—we’re well on our way toward becoming a police state. Newton’s First Law of Motion states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion. This trend has been in motion for many years, and it’s accelerating.

This is the perverse thing about DOGE, the Department of Governmental Efficiency, which seemed like a good idea at the time. It’s the tyranny of good intentions. Cutting waste seems like a good thing. But the State, as an institution, corrupts everything it touches. When it’s tending toward tyranny, efficiency is the last thing you want.

Companies like Palantir are changing the very nature of the US. In years past, if you made a mistake that damaged your reputation, you could go to a new town and try again. But now, anything on your permanent electronic record is with you forever. We may devolve into a high-tech version of the Hindu caste system, where once you’re classified in a certain way, that’s where you stay.

Palantir will make it easy to identify libertarians, classical liberals, free thinkers, and other potential enemies of the State. You’d better be careful about what you say. It may be why journalist Glenn Greenwald prefers to live in Brazil. His writing has proved embarrassing to the Powers That Be, and he may not want to be easily available when AI, aided by Palantir’s data bank, decides to round up the usual suspects. This is why I’ve said, for years, that a prudent person will diversify as the US, the Anglosphere, and Western Europe devolve.

Will Americans soon be classed by risk, the way Palantir has classed Gazans? The total information awareness that Palantir will give the government will certainly help them find some bad guys. But who’s a bad guy can be very arbitrary, as many people in England and Germany who are being jailed for what impresses me as innocuous speech are discovering.

International Man: Peter Thiel, a co-founder of Palantir, often presents himself as a libertarian. However, his actions and true allegiance appear to align with the Deep State and secretive international organizations like Bilderberg. What about Thiel?

Doug Casey: It’s clear that Thiel has a thorough intellectual understanding of the principles of libertarianism. But it doesn’t appear that he’s translated intellectual understanding into the world of what’s moral, what’s right or wrong. It’s long been said that power corrupts, and Thiel, who is said to be worth over $20 billion at this point, has an immense amount of both financial and political power.

Perhaps he reasons that this technology has a life of its own. I certainly think it does. If so, it’s going to grow almost independent of who is involved. After all, that’s what Artificial Intelligence and its immense data centers are all about; they’re almost independent entities at this point. Perhaps Thiel thinks that, since it’s going to happen anyway, it’s better that it be under the control of the quote-unquote “good guys” as opposed to someone else.

I can understand that, but it’s fallacious reasoning. It didn’t matter whether the Sorcerer’s Apprentice was a good guy. The Deep State, which will control Palantir, is itself out of control. I don’t think there’s any way we can put the genie back in the bottle. It augurs for a dystopian future.

International Man: Palantir’s market capitalization has skyrocketed from about $50 billion a year ago to approximately $300 billion today, surpassing the valuations of major companies like Coca-Cola and General Electric.

What are your thoughts on this extraordinary growth, and what are the investment implications?

Doug Casey: That’s shocking and perverse. Coke and GE have been around for a century, producing valuable products that people want and need. Palantir has products that are actively destructive, but the market loves it. Lenin was right when he said that the capitalists would sell their enemies the ropes used to hang them.

Let’s look at Palantir both as a company and as a stock. Since it went public in 2020, it’s run from $10 a share to $135 a share. Its current price-to-earnings ratio is 500-1, and its price-to-sales ratio is 100-1—these are outlandish numbers. It does a billion or two billion shares a day in volume.

This is fantastic growth, but what’s really interesting is that the stock took off in June of 2024. It’s gone up about six or seven times in just a year. What’s disturbing is that most of the move coincides with the election of Donald Trump.  

The stock is grossly overpriced by all traditional parameters. But its valuation shows that the market believes its business will keep growing rapidly. It can go a lot higher; it could be the next Nvidia. I don’t want any part of it for lots of reasons, not least that its success is a proxy for the collapse of personal freedom and Western Civilization. Of course, here I’m not speaking as a speculator but as a moralist… sorry, sometimes it just can’t be helped…

On the bright side, there’s an old saying in the market: “High tech equals big wreck.” So perhaps the evil thing will self-destruct.

The Praetorian agencies of the US government are all about gathering data. They use it, directly and indirectly, not just to control the public in general, but powerful individuals in particular. They’re able to control the leaders of both governments and corporations. If they know something about you, they can use that information to intimidate you. And if you aren’t intimidated, they can use it to ruin your life.

So, the wrong people, the kind of people who are drawn to agencies like the CIA, NSA, IRS, FBI, and a score of others, have control of all the data and all the power. They’re not good people, and they won’t use all this data, money, and power in benevolent ways.

So, be afraid. Be very afraid.

Judy Note: In a quest for power Leftist Democrats and Deep State Globalists, in cooperation with the Chinese Communist Party, Antifa and others wishing to take over America, were funding organized riots this week in a city near you.

Actually over 1,500 cities across the nation have been targeted for highly funded and organized riots on Sat. 14 June 2025.

These leftists have allowed millions of illegal immigrants into the US to compromise our elections. Now, because ICE was deporting them, evil people were orchestrating funded protests and chaos.

However, word was that Trump’s Military Alliance seized the riot funds – and that was the reason protestors calmed down in LA on Thursday – they weren’t being paid.

Providing we get through the pending Nuclear war and riots this week, on Sat. 14 June 2025 we will be celebrating our New Republic under concepts of the original Constitution, in Washington DC with a Military Parade. The Corporation of the United States has fallen. What remains is the Republic, with the new Quantum Financial System active as it’s financial spine.

Democrat-aligned militants have called for violent action on June 14 — American Flag Day. Radical cells, armed and trained, are ready to strike. Their orders: cripple law enforcement, paralyze infrastructure, overwhelm federal response zones from D.C. to Atlanta, Portland, Phoenix, Chicago. This isn’t protest — THIS IS WAR.

Deep State No Kings Operation activates Fri. 13 June. A day before the assault, the No Kings movement mobilizes in D.C. behind anti-monarchy propaganda. It’s a front for radical insurgents preparing to ignite the first clash.

Meanwhile the US Army said the Military Parade to celebrate 250 years and Flag Day will kick off at 6:30 p.m. EST and conclude around 7:30 p.m. Following the parade, Trump was expected to attend an enlistment and re-enlistment ceremony. There will also be a concert at the Ellipse, the park south of the White House fence, and the U.S. Army Golden Knights team will parachute in and present Trump with the U.S. flag. The evening will conclude with fireworks around 9:45 pm EST.

The bottom line was money – as it always was. The Deep State hate Trump and didn’t want him elected because he would, and now is, taking away their laundered US Taxpayer money supply and giving it back to The People.

NGOs (private non government agencies) were funding the riots. The most prominent one was the owner of Walmart, who was funding and putting together 1800 groups to protest in America. The Soros group……have supplied expensive head gear and distributed pallets of rocks and bricks to strategic locations.

On Wed. 11 June 2025, at a so-called Governor Gavin Newsom broadcast he stood before the people with no voice. Newsom’s handlers had scrambled to issue the broadcast, hoping to calm the storm. But what aired was a disaster. No audio. No authority. No leadership. Just a man mouthing lines for an operation that has already failed. Not a single word was transmitted. Not because of technical failure, but because he’s no longer allowed to speak. What the media called a movement was a smokescreen. His real objective was to protect tunnel access, off-grid data centers, and safehouses scattered from Beverly Hills to the port of Long Beach. But it failed. Trump’s forces breached the entry points.

NY City and LA Protestors have confessed they were being paid $200 a day to cause chaotic disruption and were being supplied with expensive head gear, weapons and pallets of bricks and rocks to do it.

The man seen distributing tens of thousands of dollars worth of face shields in Los Angeles to rioters has been identified as Alejandro Orellana, a known member of the Brown Berets, a radical Latino paramilitary group that are currently embedded in cities across the United States, promoting a communist takeover. …Alex Jones

Los Angeles ICE protesters were literally filmed wearing the jackets of an NGO funded by George Soros. They also had break stations set up by another NGO that was funded by Soros.

Apparently the TRB so-called “Trump Gold Products” Scam is still alive and well on the Internet. Initially I received well over 400 email complaints on the matter before I had to cut them off. Recently I checked into it again. Now they are promising that you can still cash in your TRB products by setting up a Quantum Account with them (where they will claim you have over 40 million $ in your account). Only after you have given them your personal information, plus paid them thousands of dollars more – they will then promise to release the monies to you – which they never do. At least, no one has proven to me that they have ever received monies from investing in TRB products.

Unknown persons using my legal name of Judy Byington were inviting people to sign up for the Quantum Financial System Accounts and Med Bed treatments, plus asking for monies to do so. I know nothing of this and it appeared to be a scam. If someone contacted you or wrote on Telegram saying they were Judy Byington, know that it was not me. Do not give them personal information, nor monies. It was my understanding that signing up for an account on the Quantum Financial System would be free, as would the Med Bed treatments – and none of that has occurred yet.  …Judy Byington
