SPIRITUAL:

EXPERIENCING EASTER


This time last year I was prayerfully preparing for my very first trip to Israel. Little did I know how experiencing the location of Easter first-hand would forever affect my life in Christ!

 

To help again prepare my heart for worship this Holy Week, I was led by the Lord to recall, reflect, and refocus. Recall those surreal spaces where I walked with my two boys. Reflect on the reality of this sacred season. And refocus again for the Great Commission ahead.

 

I hope that this simple exercise in circling back helps you and your family experience Easter afresh too!

 

GOLGOTHA

When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (John 19:30)

 

Seeing with my own eyes the suspected location where Jesus died on the Cross for the sins of all those He came to save was surreal to say the least. But what was perhaps most encouraging about this location was the ministry and message I heard there.

 

After being repeatedly exposed to the overt Jewish/Islamic hostility of other locations expressed in military checkpoints protecting each from the other, it was so kind of the Lord to have the tourist sites of both Golgotha and the Garden Tomb (the LITERAL locations of the gospel) operated by an evangelical Christian ministry!

 

Not only was I deeply blessed by the ministry of John Sutcliffe, a UK evangelist who also happened to be our Golgotha and Garden Tomb tour guide, but I was also deeply thankful to hear brother John preach the gospel message too!

THE GARDEN TOMB

And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. (Mark 16:6)

 

After leaving Golgotha we made our way to the most likely location of the Garden Tomb where Jesus’ body was laid and resurrected. As you can hopefully appreciate, when my boys and I stepped into what was likely the very same grave where God raised Jesus from the dead, the power and reality of the resurrection moved our hearts to worship!

 

Walking away from the Garden Tomb, our mission team then sat together in a small outside chapel to share in the Lord’s Supper with a gospel devotional. What a wonderful time and place to again celebrate the Lord’s death until He comes!

THE MOUNT OF OLIVES

 

 

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

 

As if walking La Via Dolorosa (the “Way of Suffering”) wasn’t emotional enough, it was while standing on the Mount of Olives where Christ commissioned all of His first followers that I was moved by the Holy Spirit with immense introspection about my own life and ministry.

 

Now, I’ve read and even taught Acts 1 many times, but it was while I was literally standing on that site with Jerusalem in view just over the hill that I had to ask myself, “If I’d been among those first few followers who’d heard His words of commissioning, how would I have responded?”

 

It was then when the Holy Spirit inspired in me some serious soul-searching about my urgency and obedience to His gospel…and I hope He’ll do the same for you after reading this testimony of my Easter experience!

Since 2021, 123 churches have been burned, vandalized, or desecrated across Canada, and yet, the nightly news is silent. Just imagine the outcry if this were happening to synagogues or mosques.


You and I know why this is happening. Many of our neighbors still believe the lie of "215 hidden graves," a story fed by headlines that were never corrected. Even though excavations found nothing, the flames keep spreading.


Politicians who helped fuel the anger just shrugged when the bricks started flying. Their investigations have gone nowhere, letting nearly 100 culprits get away with it.

Prime Minister Carney calls himself a Catholic, but he won't say a word while sanctuaries smolder. And Minister Anandasangaree? He hasn't even bothered to visit a single ruined church.


A public inquiry will finally bring the truth to light. It's the only way to stop the rumors and make sure future attackers think twice. We need real justice, not more silence.


Our faith communities need us to stand up for them.

An apology would go a long way toward healing our congregations. It would prove that accountability still matters and that our freedom to worship is worth protecting. We can't wait any longer.

TRUMP: 

Bryon Noem hints at a public statement after fetish photos surface, raising questions about Kristi Noem's judgment at DHS

Bryon Noem, husband of former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, told The New York Times he plans to speak publicly about the leaked photos showing him wearing fake breasts and engaging with "bimbofication" fetish models online. Just not yet.

"I will at some point. Today is not the day. I appreciate your heart."

That was his response after the Daily Mail published a bombshell report on Tuesday revealing the photos and Bryon Noem's participation in the fetish scene, which included posing as a woman with large breasts and carrying on explicit conversations with other women. The couple has been married since 1992 and has three adult children together.

A spokesperson for the family offered a brief statement: the family was "blindsided" by the revelation and asked for "privacy and prayers at this time."


A marriage already under scrutiny

The Noem marriage was not exactly a picture of stability before this week. Kristi Noem has long been rumored to be having an affair with her top aide, Corey Lewandowski, the political commentator who appeared alongside her at events, including the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Both Lewandowski and Noem have denied that their relationship is anything beyond professional.


Those denials did not stop Congress from asking about it, the Daily Beast reported. On March 4, Kristi Noem was grilled at a House Judiciary Committee hearing over the alleged affair. Bryon Noem had dutifully appeared with her at that hearing. President Trump publicly announced her firing from DHS shortly after.

Political commentator Ryan James Girdusky shed additional light on what he called D.C.'s open secret. He told the "It's a Numbers Game" podcast back in August 2025 about a telling exchange:


"A reporter walked up to her and said, 'Why are you having this affair? Why haven't you met up with your husband? Why aren't you divorcing your husband?'"

According to Girdusky, Noem's response to the reporter was blunt: she blurted out that her husband was gay. Girdusky confirmed on Tuesday that he was talking about Noem and posted further commentary on X.


"But to say she had no idea really flies in the face of what she was saying."

Girdusky was careful to note he had "no idea if he is or isn't," but added that in D.C. circles, the state of the Noem marriage was common knowledge, calling it "all appearances." He suggested she may have used the claim about her husband as justification for stepping out on her own wedding vows.


The national security question nobody wants to ask

There is a reasonable conversation to be had about private behavior and public consequences, and this is one of those cases where the line between the two dissolves entirely. Kristi Noem was the Secretary of Homeland Security. Her husband's secret online life, whatever its precise nature, represents exactly the kind of vulnerability that foreign intelligence services exploit.


Jack Barsky, a former Soviet spy turned U.S. counterintelligence asset, told the Daily Mail what anyone with a passing familiarity with espionage tradecraft already knows:

"It's astounding that somebody whose spouse is at that level has that kind of bad judgment."


This is not a morality lecture. It is a security assessment. A Cabinet secretary's spouse engaged in easily blackmailable behavior while she led the agency responsible for protecting the homeland. The question is not whether anyone's feelings are hurt. The question is whether adversaries knew about this before the American public did, and what leverage that might have provided.


Small-town disbelief, big-city reality

Back in South Dakota, where the Noems built their political brand on ranching, faith, and family values, the reaction was exactly what you'd expect from people who knew Bryon Noem as a neighbor.


Kevin Ruesin, a cattle rancher, offered the instinctive response of a man confronted with something that doesn't fit the person he knows:

"I grew up playing ball with Bryon. I've never known him to be part of stuff like that. I don't believe that at all."


His first guess was AI fabrication. That impulse is understandable in an age where synthetic images are increasingly convincing. But Bryon Noem himself admitted to participating in the bimbofication scene, which makes the AI defense difficult to sustain.


What this actually reveals

The conservative movement has a recurring problem, and it is not ideology. It is vetting. The pipeline from state politics to national power moves fast, and the assumption that someone who talks right and governs right will also live right has burned the movement more than once.


Kristi Noem rose on a brand built around:

  • Defiance of COVID lockdowns in South Dakota

  • A tough-on-the-border posture that earned her the "ICE Barbie" label

  • Traditional family imagery that played well with the base


The substance of that brand is now in open conflict with the reality of her personal life. An alleged affair with a top political aide. A husband secretly living an online double life. A family spokesperson asking for prayers while the former secretary claimed to be blindsided by something that was, by multiple accounts, the worst-kept secret in Washington.


None of this means the policies she advocated were wrong. Border security doesn't become less important because its messenger turns out to be personally compromised. But credibility matters in politics, and the gap between what the Noems projected and what they were apparently living is the kind of gap that erodes public trust in everyone who shares a stage with them.


Bryon Noem says he will talk. The phrasing suggests he has a story to tell that goes beyond what has already surfaced. Whether that story implicates only himself or pulls others into the wreckage remains to be seen.


Washington already moved on from Kristi Noem, the officeholder. It may not move on so quickly from what her family's unraveling reveals about the cost of building a political life on a foundation that was never solid to begin with.

Law enforcement insider says Pima County investigators lacked homicide experience in Nancy Guthrie disappearance

An anonymous law enforcement insider has told NewsNation that the Pima County Sheriff's team assigned to investigate the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie, lacked homicide-case experience and made critical mistakes in the early days of the probe.


The claim, reported by The U.S. Sun, lands on a sheriff's department already reeling from a deputy's arrest, a million-dollar lawsuit, and a formal demand from its own deputies' union that Sheriff Chris Nanos step down. More than fifty days after Guthrie vanished from her Arizona home, the case remains unsolved, and the questions about how it was handled from the start are only growing louder.


What the insider alleges

NewsNation granted the source anonymity to protect the person's employment. The insider described a homicide unit staffed not by seasoned investigators but by people installed through personal connections rather than merit.

The source told NewsNation:


"From what I understand, that the people that were there on the scene were not tenured homicide detectives. They didn't have a lot of experience in homicide at that point, to include the supervisor who, from my understanding, never investigated a homicide before being installed as the supervisor for the homicide unit."


That is a damning portrait of a department tasked with finding a missing elderly woman. The insider went further, pointing to a culture in which leadership appointments were driven by loyalty rather than competence.


"Well, see, you have decisions made by people that will install friends and people that can do stuff for them, opposed to people that are there under merit."

Former prosecutor and criminal defense attorney Lindsay Richards separately told The U.S. Sun she identified five glaring missteps in the investigation. The specifics of those missteps were not detailed in the report.


A timeline that raises hard questions

Nancy Guthrie was last seen by her family on January 31. She was reported missing the following day, February 1. Surveillance footage later released showed a masked man outside her Arizona home on the night she disappeared.


But investigators have been looking at dates well before the disappearance itself. On March 24, Sheriff Nanos revealed that his office believes "something occurred on January 11," citing the FBI's analysis of digital equipment and material. Officials also flagged January 24 as another date of interest.


Brian Fitzgibbons, Director of Operations at USPA Nationwide Security, appeared on Nancy Grace's Crime Stories podcast and connected those dates to a potential suspect profile. He noted on the podcast:


"All three of those on weekend nights. That is extremely probative...He's always doing this on weekend nights. Why?...It adds a tremendous amount of color behind the profile that we're building of this suspect."


The significance of January 11 and January 24 has not been publicly explained beyond Nanos's brief reference to FBI digital analysis. What happened on those dates, and why investigators waited weeks to disclose them, remain open questions, ones the sheriff's office has not answered.


The controversy over how evidence has been routed and handled in this case has only deepened public skepticism about whether the investigation was run competently from the start.

A department in freefall

The Guthrie case has not been the only crisis engulfing the Pima County Sheriff's Office. In March, the Tucson Police Department arrested 22-year-old Travis Reynolds, a former Pima County Sheriff's deputy, and charged him with one count of kidnapping in connection with alleged misconduct while he was on duty.


A criminal complaint reviewed by KOLD painted a disturbing picture. Reynolds allegedly called a woman he was transporting to jail "hot," told her "they could go to a hotel and have sex," showed her sexually explicit videos, and asked her to show him her breasts. He was fired after his arrest.


Also in March, Pima County Jail inmate Christopher Michael Marx filed a $1 million lawsuit against the sheriff's office, alleging Nanos put his "life in jeopardy with their action, constantly." The details of the lawsuit were not fully described, but the timing added yet another layer of institutional embarrassment.


For a department already under intense scrutiny over the Guthrie investigation, these scandals have compounded the damage. The recall effort now building against Nanos reflects a community that has seen enough.


Nanos's own deputies want him gone

On March 23, the Pima County Deputy's Organization, representing over 300 deputies, issued a formal statement calling for the sheriff to resign. The language was blunt and unsparing.


"Sheriff Nanos should resign immediately to restore trust, accountability and operational effectiveness to the Pima County Sheriff's Department. Continued leadership under these circumstances jeopardizes public safety, departmental morale and the credibility of law enforcement in Pima County."


That statement did not come from political opponents or media critics. It came from the men and women who work under Nanos every day. When your own deputies unanimously call for your resignation, the problem is no longer a matter of perception. It is a matter of institutional collapse.


Nanos himself carries a record that invited scrutiny long before the Guthrie case. He has been criticized for allegedly lying on his resume. He reportedly left his first job after he allegedly kicked a suspect in the head. He has been accused of gambling and insubordination. None of those allegations are new, but they form the backdrop against which this insider's claims about cronyism and inexperience land with particular force.

The sheriff has repeatedly deflected criticism even as the Guthrie family has publicly begged the community for answers.


What remains unanswered

More than fifty days after Nancy Guthrie vanished, the case is unsolved. The identity of the masked man captured on surveillance footage outside her home has not been publicly disclosed. The specific mistakes the insider alleges were made at the crime scene have not been enumerated in detail. The connection between January 11, January 24, and the February 1 disappearance remains unexplained.


And the question at the center of it all, whether an experienced homicide team, deployed from the start, might have produced a different outcome, hangs over the entire investigation.

A former SWAT chief has publicly claimed that 98 percent of the department has lost confidence in Nanos. The insider's account reported by NewsNation adds another voice to that chorus, this time from someone who says the rot started at the crime scene itself, with detectives who had never worked a homicide running the most high-profile missing-persons case in the county's recent memory.


An 84-year-old woman is missing. Her family has no answers. And the department responsible for finding them appears to have been led by people chosen for their connections rather than their competence. That is not a partisan observation. It is the kind of institutional failure that taxpayers and families have every right to demand be addressed, starting at the top.

The EBS is expected to instruct citizens to remain in a location of their choosing in preparation for a global lockdown lasting approximately 10 to 12 days. During this time, air and rail travel will be suspended.
