"What Would Jesus Do" is the wrong question. It's the left-handed way of trying to be LIKE Jesus instead of just being Jesus for those hurting around us. We are called to be his hands, his feet, his voice, his eyes and ears in the world. St. Paul said, "For me to live is Christ", not "for me to live is to be Christ-like". There's a huge difference. Jesus said, "Love one another as I [have loved] you". In Greek it transcends time: "I have loved, am loving, will love you". He was not asking us to copy him but telling us to obey. "A new commandment I give unto you..." It means "do this as I am doing it", not to wonder what you should be doing in a self-motivated effort to please the Lord. Pull with him. His yoke is easy. Pull with him, in him and through him.

"What Does Jesus Do" is more like it. That's what we are called to do. Participate in what he is doing to help the hurting. And if you can't see that, then look through his eyes. Pray to see through his eyes and hear what he is hearing in the community. Follow him. Do it with him. Phone someone daily. Pray with them. Leave tracts on the bus and in restaurants. Join a support group (please use an alternative to Zoom). Send a special Easter card with a tender note. Clean someone's yard. Run an errand for them. Do it in Jesus’ name with a happy "God bless you". Meet people with "exemptions" - legally "for reasons of faith" as well as medical. You'll never have to pay a fine. Invite someone to lunch. Love is a healer. Jesus is a soul lover. If Jesus is in, you then you must be one too! Ride His cloud.
