VERSE for today:
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Hebrews 12:14 KJV
Pastor – Jack HIBBS:
“…Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30
With every fresh new year, it is natural to desire better things, especially when the past has been filled with pressure. It is to the confused, heartbroken, weary, and exhausted that Jesus’ promise of rest sounds sweetest of all. To them, Jesus bids, “Come to Me.”
When Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and My is burden light,” what did He mean? In biblical times, oxen were yoked together to share the load as they plowed. Wooden yokes were carefully carved to ensure proper fit and weight distribution. Likewise, Jesus crafts the life burdens He lays upon us, but taking up His yoke guarantees that we will never carry them alone. Jesus makes our burdens easier and lighter because His yoke helps us bear-up under their weight. Jesus’ yoke was obedience to the Father’s will. Rest comes to us in the same way it came to Jesus while on earth, through submission to the Father. But trouble enters our souls when we don’t know our heavenly Father’s will or resist it outright. Get close to Jesus and walk in the Father’s will. There will be little rest for those who refuse submission and obedience amidst difficulties. “But it is hard,” you may argue, and sometimes that is true. It is in those times we must cry out, “Teach me to do Your will.” (Psalm 143:10) Are you in need of rest today? Jesus is your burden bearer. Come to Him. And once there, determine to wear the yoke He has tailor-made for you. Awaiting His Return, [Pastor – Jack HIBBS]
U.S. FDA, CDC see early signal of possible Pfizer bivalent COVID shot link to stroke:
Jan 13 (Reuters) - (This Jan. 13 story has been refiled with an edited headline to clarify that the link to a stroke is possible, not definite.)
A safety monitoring system flagged that U.S. drugmaker Pfizer Inc (PFE.N) and German partner BioNTech's updated COVID-19 shot could be linked to a type of brain stroke in older adults, according to preliminary data analyzed by U.S. health authorities.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Friday that a CDC vaccine database had uncovered a possible safety issue in which people 65 and older were more likely to have an ischemic stroke 21 days after receiving the Pfizer/BioNTech bivalent shot, compared with days 22-44.
An ischemic stroke, also known as brain ischemia, is caused by blockages in arteries that carry blood to the brain.
The FDA and CDC said that other large studies, the CDC's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, other countries' databases and Pfizer-BioNTech's databases had not flagged this safety issue, adding that it requires more investigation.
"Although the totality of the data currently suggests that it is very unlikely that the signal in VSD (Vaccine Safety Datalink) represents a true clinical risk, we believe it is important to share this information with the public," the health authorities said.

Pfizer and BioNTech said in a statement that they have been made aware of limited reports of ischemic strokes in people 65 and older following vaccination with their updated shot.
"Neither Pfizer and BioNTech nor the CDC or FDA have observed similar findings across numerous other monitoring systems in the U.S. and globally and there is no evidence to conclude that ischemic stroke is associated with the use of the companies' COVID-19 vaccines," the companies added.

Former Biden assistant Kathy Chung, who was recommended by Hunter Biden, questioned about role in packing classified documents:
Kathy Chung, the former assistant to President Joe Biden, was questioned about her role in packing classified documents found unlawfully kept at three separate locations, Breitbart reported. She was appointed after the president's son Hunter Biden recommended her.
Chung worked for Joe Biden when he was vice president, and her connection to Hunter Biden is clear from emails found on the younger Biden's infamous abandoned laptop. "Thanks for calling and thinking of me," she responded on May 14, 2012, to an email from Hunter Biden.
"After the initial shock of taking in what you said…how could I pass up an opportunity to work for the Vice President of the United State!!!! I do have a few questions," Chung added.
"What is Michelle’s primary job? I think I know what the job would entail, minus the scheduling part, which is a huge part of what I do now," she said, referring to Michele Smith, who previously held the position for the then-vice president.
"But what would be my top 3 – 5 responsibilities be in the office? Do you know the salary? Again, thanks for thinking of me," Chung schmoozed Hunter Biden.
After Chung was hired, she reached out to Hunter Biden on June 13, 2012, with her appreciation. "I cannot thank you enough for thinking about me and walking me thru this," she wrote in an email.
"What an incredible opportunity! Thanks, Hunter!!" she said, solidifying her connection to the shady younger Biden.
Over the next few years, Chung and Hunter Biden would correspond several more times. They worked out details for business meetings for the Biden family, including with Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Emails also included meeting information for University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann, whom the president chose as his U.S. ambassador to Germany. The institution houses the Penn Biden Center, where the first batch of the classified documents was found.
Despite the scandalous nature of these new discoveries, Joe Biden has yet to be treated as harshly as former President Donald Trump was over a similar transgression. In August, the former president's private home was raided, and documents and other possessions were seized.
However, it turns out that Trump has more of a legitimate claim to lawfully keeping classified documents than Biden. As Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett pointed out, the former president had the right to declassify whatever he wished. He had a right to do with the documents what he wanted, whereas a vice president enjoys no such privilege.
"I think President Biden is more at criminal risk here because Trump had the ability to declassify documents, unfettered authority, he can do it on his own."He doesn't have to tell anybody," Jarrett added.
"Joe Biden, when he was vice president and departed office, obviously took classified documents with him. He doesn't have declassification authority," Jarrett explained.
It's possible, given her position, that Chung packed the materials in question that were found to be stored for Joe Biden. It's likely that there are many more troubling layers of this scandal, and investigators are only scratching the surface.

McCarthy tells reporters Eric Swalwell is 'compromised' by China:
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) has found himself mired in controversy over the past several years, specifically concerning his involvement with a Chinese spy and the strong possibility that communist China has compromised his position in Congress.
According to Breitbart, that's why newly-minted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told reporters last week that Swalwell has no place on any House committees, especially anything having to do with intelligence or foreign affairs.
McCarthy made crystal clear to the attending reporters that Swalwell is done.
"Let me phrase something very direct to you: if you got the briefing I got from the FBI, you wouldn’t have Swalwell on any committee," the new speaker said.
McCarthy added: "You’re going to tell me that there’s 200 other Democrats that couldn’t fill that slot, but you kept him on it? The only way that they even knew it came forward is when they went to nominate him to the Intel Committee and then the FBI came and told the leadership then, 'He’s got a problem.' And they kept him on. That jeopardized all of us."
McCarthy added: "He cannot get a security clearance in the private sector, so would you like to give him a government clearance??"
Breitbart reminded readers of its exclusive report involving Chinese spy "Feng Feng":
Swalwell was in an intimate sexual relationship with a Chinese spy named Fang Fang. Moreover, Fang Fang also “took part in fundraising activity for Swalwell’s 2014 re-election campaign, according to a Bay Area political operative,” as Axios reported in 2020.
McCarthy tore into Swalwell so badly that some social media users who were watching CNN noticed that the left-leaning network cut away from the press conference.
"CNN cuts away from Speaker McCarthy's press conference when he starts hammering Rep. Swalwell for being allegedly compromised, and Rep. Schiff for repeatedly lying about having evidence of collusion," one Twitter user wrote.
McCarthy took action to remove Swalwell, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from a number of committee positions. [The American Digest]

Chilling video shows passenger unwittingly capture final moments before plane crashes in Nepal, killing at least 68:
Heartbreaking video taken by a passenger on a doomed flight shows the final moments before the commercial airplane crashed in Nepal and killed at least 68 of the 72 people onboard.
Officials have confirmed that 68 are dead in the crash of a Nepal-based Yeti Airways plane on Sunday. Four people remain missing. The tragic crash is Nepal's deadliest airplane accident in three decades.
The twin-engine ATR-72 plane was making a brief 27-minute flight from Nepal's capital of Kathmandu to the tourist town of Pokhara.
Video from a witness on the ground shows the airliner falling fast and rolling to the point that the wings are nearly at a 90-degree with the ground. The airplane goes out of the frame of the video, then suddenly a loud boom is heard in the background.
The Times of India reported that one of the passengers was livestreaming the flight to Facebook. The video shows the plane flying low over Pokhara as seen through the passenger window. One of the passengers is enjoying the flight and is heard saying, "Mauj kar di," meaning, "It's real fun."
However, seconds later tragedy strikes as the plane plummets. The plane appears to bank sharply to one side, and passengers are heard on the video screaming. Suddenly, the video goes dark. Then the gutwrenching video shows the plane engulfed in flames.
(WARNING: Graphic video)
The plane crashed into a gorge, and the pilot averted hitting buildings in the area.
Hundreds of emergency rescue workers attempted to save any survivors of the Nepal plane crash. However, the flames from the plane were too hot to get close to the wreckage in the immediate aftermath.
Local resident Bishnu Tiwari told the Associated Press, "The flames were so hot that we couldn’t go near the wreckage. I heard a man crying for help, but because of the flames and smoke, we couldn’t help him.”
There were 72 people on the flight – 68 passengers and four crew members.
Yeti spokesman Sudarshan Bartaula said that there were 15 foreigners on board the plane, including five Indians, four Russians, two South Koreans, and one passenger each from Argentina, Australia, France, and Ireland.
Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority said it was not immediately clear as to what caused the plane crash.
An investigation into the deadly plane crash has been launched. [The BLAZE Media]
An Orthodox Restrainer?
Medvedev Issues Cryptic Message about Restraining the Antichrist (trunews.com)
I think this is the most important message yet. Whether you agree with it or not., this is how all kinds of Russians see everything... through the eyes of scripture; while all kinds of western media and politicians see everything in secular terms. Start at the :47-minute mark.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued a cryptic message that alluded to 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 and the one who restrains the appearance of the Antichrist.
I have emailed Rick Wiles that the answer to his question is to be found in the 40-minute video Don and I recorded about the 6 God-made Cycles in history. It basically says that Medvedev is right about Russia's role in restraining evil, but the timeline is wrong. We believe Russia will hold back evil and create a short Era of Peace, to use Catholic language (a revived Byzantine Empire to use Orthodox language), or a false peace to use evangelical language. After this the Anti-Christ bounces back to take everything for himself in person. [Patrick Bestall]

Ukraine plans to ask Canada for some of its Leopard-2 main battle tanks, Zelensky aide says:
Ukraine is planning to ask Canada for some of its Leopard-2 main battle tanks, as soon as Germany drops its opposition to the re-export of the weaponry it manufactured over concerns that supplying them could escalate the conflict.
Mykhailo Podolyak, a top adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, told The Globe that Zelensky will make the request to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau when the bureaucratic hurdle with Berlin is cleared.
