The first biblical mention of Bethlehem is a sorrowful one. Genesis 35 says that Rachel died near there.
Rachel was beloved by her husband, Jacob, and he was anguished when she perished during a difficult childbirth. With her final breath, she named her child Ben-Oni, which means “Son of My Sorrow.” But Jacob changed his name to Benjamin, which means “Son of My Right Hand.” Jacob set a monument over her grave, and pious Jews visit the site to this day.

Heaven’s influence on our lives is never greater than when our sights are fixed upon it. The man or woman whose eyes are turned upward will be marked by a life lived differently. We know this because of the accounts of those who determined to fix their gaze far above the earth. Moses is a perfect example.
In Pharaoh’s house, Moses had every benefit laid at his feet. Yet, he was not captivated by the security of the Egyptian court because “he was looking ahead to his reward” (Hebrews 11:26). For Moses, looking upward equated to living beyond the fleeting rewards of playing it safe, resulting in the deliverance of millions of his people from bondage.
Missionary to China, Hudson Taylor was another who lived with heaven in constant view. In writing about winning souls to Christ, Taylor said, “China is not to be won for Christ by quiet, ease-loving men and women.” Through his courageous, some might say outrageous, trust in God, he inspired thousands to forsake the comforts of the West to bring the gospel to China's vast, unknown interior.
The Magi of the Christmas account trained their eye on the heavenly star so they might find the Christ Child and worship Him. Christian, what are your sights set on? What is the driving force in your worship of your King? I pray that you turn your eyes upward to that which will one day be yours—heaven.

Criminalizing Christians at Christmas
Will it soon be illegal to say “Merry Christmas” in public? Not likely. Not yet. But if the Liberal government gets its way and passes Bill C-9, we are one step closer to living in a country ruled by Ebeneezer Scrooge wannabes.
“Every idiot who goes about with ‘Merry Christmas’ on his lips, should be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart.” – Ebeneezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
With the amendments, that are now being proposed for Bill C-9 (the upcoming “speech control law”), the very heart of the Christmas message is under threat. Prime Minister Mark Carney is working with his cabinet to tighten the noose on Canadians’ freedom of speech – especially when it comes to religious speech.
Believe it or not, they are planning to make it illegal to publicly quote, read, or preach from certain passages of the Holy Bible that Liberals find offensive!
In a recent closed-door agreement between the secularist Bloc Québécois and radical Liberals, the new speech control law will remove all religious exemptions in hate speech prosecutions. This means that Christians who share certain portions of Scripture will be at risk of arrest under the charge of “promoting hate”. They will no longer be able to claim a “good-faith” legal exemption for sharing the Word of God and expressing their sincerely-held beliefs.
There are certain texts of Holy Scripture that some would love to label as “hate speech”, and Bill C-9 will embolden them to do just that. For example:
· “You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Leviticus 20:3). Some will call this hateful to other faith groups.
· “From the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh…” (Mark 10:6-8). Some will call this hateful “anti-trans” and “anti-homosexual” expression.
· “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). Some will claim it is “hateful” and even “genocidal” to teach that sinners will experience death and hell if they reject God’s gift.
Marc Miller, Minister of Canadian Culture and Identity, has stated: “In Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Romans — there are other passages — there’s clear hatred towards, for example, homosexuals… There should perhaps be discretion for prosecutors to press charges… There are clearly passages in religious texts that are hateful.”

Under Bill C-9, it is possible that you could face two years in jail for sharing the unpopular truths of the Bible in public or online! The police will have the power to arrest you, and a judge could convict you, if they misconstrue your Christian words or actions as being “motivated by hatred based on race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.”
Furthermore, you will face a heavier prison sentence if you are found guilty of some other Criminal Code offence while expressing your biblical beliefs. For example, if the police charge you with “mischief” for being a part of a protest they deem “illegal”, your sentence can be increased from five to ten years if the judge determines you are acting on “hateful” Christian values. In other words, Christians can expect a double punishment for being Christian!
No, this is not some law out of North Korea or Communist China. This is Canada.
We need to call on our elected Members of Parliament to scrap Bill C-9 and stop the Carney Liberals from going full-Scrooge on Christian speech!
Bill C-9 will make “hate speech” charges easier to lay on Christians, turning police and crown prosecutors into modern-day politically-correct inquisitors.
For several years now, vocal Christians have been the target of prosecutions by aggressive left-leaning crown attorneys across Canada. Bill Whatcott, a stalwart Christian activist, continues to fight the charge of “promoting hatred” when he passed out biblically-based tracts at a homosexual pride parade in Toronto in 2016. Father Tony Van Hee is still fighting his alleged violation of a pro-abortion “bubble zone” in Ottawa in 2018.
Pastor David Lynn faced frivolous charges of “hate” for his street evangelism in an LGBT neighbourhood in 2019. Pastor Derek Reiner was arrested last week for refusing to apologize to a librarian for criticizing her promotion of the drag queen lifestyle to little children.

And I could share several more stories of faithful, outspoken Christians who have faced hardship for their faith in Canada.
Imagine what will happen if Bill C-9 passes!
I firmly believe we will see a new drive to arrest even more Christians and suppress their witness all across our land. Mr. Carney is taking Scrooge’s “humbug philosophy” to the extreme!
Now it is true that the message Christians proclaim – “good tidings of great joy” – has an offensive element to it. The “good news” is only good because Jesus Christ has dealt with the “bad news” that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).
People have broken God’s Law in many different ways – lying, stealing, sexual sin (fornication, adultery, homosexuality), idolatry, covetousness, murder (abortion, euthanasia), etc. That truth is sure to offend! However, we need to first know what we have done wrong before we can repent and receive the good news of God’s forgiveness in Jesus Christ.
Under Bill C-9, it will become very difficult to proclaim God’s Law in public. This means it will be very difficult for Canadians to understand their need for the Good News at the heart of Christmas – that “there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11).
Christ saves people from their sin, but what if we can no longer mention sin in public?
My hope is that God will break through the hearts of the Liberal leadership, through our prayers and as we present the signatures from this petition. Even as Ebeneezer Scrooge eventually saw the light and changed his ways on Christmas Day, we wish for the same change among our political leaders in the Liberal Party.

Former House Rep. Colin Allred, D-Texas, is dropping out of the Lone Star State's Senate race, he announced on Monday.
Allred's announcement comes as rumours swirl about progressive Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, potentially entering the fray as soon as late Monday afternoon.
"l've come to believe that a bruising Senate Democratic primary and runoff would prevent the Democratic Party from going into this critical election unified against the danger posed to our communities and our Constitution by Donald Trump and one of his Republican bootlickers [Attorney General Ken Paxton, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, or Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas]," Allred said in a statement.
"That's why l've made the difficult decision to end my campaign for the U.S. Senate."

Allred said he would instead run in the newly redrawn 33rd Congressional District in Texas, which is currently represented by Rep. Marc Veasey, D-Texas, under previously-created boundaries.
It's not clear yet where Veasey will run for re-election in 2026, but Allred is already expected to face a primary against current Rep. Julie Johnson, D-Texas. Johnson is switching districts to run in the newly redrawn 33rd, which now includes more of Dallas County while cutting out areas of nearby Tarrant County.
"The 33rd district was racially gerrymandered by Trump in an effort to further rig our democracy but it's also the community where I grew up attending public schools and watching my mom struggle to pay for our groceries," Allred said.
Allred, a college football star at Baylor University who went on to play linebacker with the Tennessee Titans in the National Football League (NFL) and later worked as a civil rights lawyer, was first elected to the House in 2018, flipping a red seat. He won re-election in his Dallas area district in 2020 and 2022.

As the Democrats' 2024 Senate nominee in Texas, Allred aimed to dethrone GOP firebrand Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. But Allred ended up losing to Cruz by eight points in last year's election, in a Senate race that was one of the most expensive in the country.
Allred launched a second straight bid for the Senate in July.
But Allred didn't have the Democratic field to himself for long. James Talarico, a Democratic state lawmaker from Texas with a surging national profile, jumped into the Lone Star State's high-profile Senate race in September.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Morning News first reported on Sunday night that Crockett would launch a bid for Senate after facing her own tough House race decisions following the GOP's redraw of Texas's congressional map.
She is expected to announce her political future at 5:30 p.m. ET on Monday. Candidates in Texas have until Monday evening to file for their campaigns.
Crockett is currently in her second term as a U.S. House member and has already made a name for herself as a progressive firebrand both on social media and during hearings in the House Oversight Committee.

Crockett has notably compared President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler and aspects of the Republican Party to fascism.
But her bombastic style has also made Crockett a superstar within the Democratic Party, with her being chosen to speak at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) last year as a then-first-term member of Congress.
She ran for ranking member of the House Oversight Committee earlier this year following the death of its previous top Democrat, late Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., but dropped out of the race after failing to win the recommendation of leadership within her party.
On the GOP side of the Texas Senate race is a high-profile three-way primary between incumbent Cornyn, as well as challengers Paxton and Hunt.

1. The Truth & Reconciliation Committee is half-wrong. The bible tells us that the land, water and all living things belong to the Lord and were never given to us as gifts. We were made stewards, caretakers of His property (Genesis 2:15). This relationship did not change over time. In Leviticus chapter 9, we read, “The land is not to be sold permanently, for the land is mine," says the Lord. Also, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Psalm 24:1. God’s gifts to us are more personal. “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” – Psalm 127:3. We also have gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians chapter 12.
2. The Truth & Reconciliation Committee is half-right to express our desire for improving relations with all peoples, especially the Indigenous peoples. But a brief land acknowledgement in a public place can only distort perception of what's wrong and what's right. Save it for a meeting room with native people where we can turn words into action and partner together as the best of our forefathers, and theirs did when they exchanged goods and talents to build communities. 3. We might also acknowledge the presence of so much empty land that you could, and still can, travel for days without seeing a soul. This is why we have opened up Canada to so much immigration today, despite the population explosion of the last 100 years.

I'm talking about survival skills taught by the tribes (as important today as they were then); while science, schools, hospitals and the arts were brought here by the settlers. Can we not have classes where we learn more about these things in our history? Without such a balance of appreciation, our native populations will live with distrust while Christians live with shame.

Notice: This article was originally published in 2024. I am aware that some aspects of it are dated, but this is something I am extremely proud of and wanted to share it with my readers. Focus on the main part of this article, The MIRACLE OF THE SUN - not the Jesuits.
In 1951, the Vatican did something strange…
Thirty-four years after the most witnessed supernatural event in recorded history, their official newspaper published photographs of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima. Not sketches. Not artistic renderings. Actual photographs that supposedly captured the moment when the sun danced across the sky in front of seventy thousand people in 1917.
The images went global instantly.
Time magazine ran them. Major newspapers across Europe and America reprinted them. Catholics who’d spent decades defending the Fatima story finally had visual proof. Skeptics would have to eat crow. Here, in black and white, was documentation of the impossible.

Three weeks later, the photos were exposed as complete fakes.
They’d been taken in 1921, four years after the actual event. They showed an atmospheric phenomenon at sunset, not the noonday miracle witnessed by tens of thousands. Someone had scrawled “Fatima, 1917” on them and the Vatican’s own newspaper had published them as authentic evidence.
The Church issued an embarrassed retraction. “We were deceived in good faith,” they said. Everyone moved on.
But here’s what you need to understand: that wasn’t incompetence. That was one of the most sophisticated disinformation operations in modern religious history. The Vatican didn’t accidentally publish fake photos. They released them deliberately, waited for the inevitable exposure, and used the scandal to poison the entire Fatima narrative.
You can’t outright deny an event that seventy thousand Portuguese Catholics witnessed without causing riots and schisms. But you can make it seem suspect. You can attach the stench of fraud to it. You can ensure that anyone who believes it has to first overcome the association with proven fakes.
Three decades after reality broke in front of a stadium’s worth of witnesses, the Church ran a psychological operation to make their own miracle seem questionable.
Why?
What were they hiding that was so dangerous they’d sabotage their own best evidence of the supernatural?
What I Found
I’ve spent a decade researching Fatima. Not as an academic exercise. Not for a thesis. Because something about the official story never added up, and the more I dug, the stranger it got.
I started asking Catholic priests about it. Dozens of them over the years. Young progressive priests who want to modernize the Church. Old traditionalists who miss the Latin Mass. Seminary professors. Hospital chaplains. Campus ministers. Priests who’ve devoted their entire lives to Catholic theology and history.
Not one of them had heard of the Miracle of the Sun.
Not one.
These people can recite papal encyclicals from memory. They know obscure saints from the fourth century. They’ve studied every major Church council and theological debate for two thousand years. But ask them about the day seventy thousand people watched the sun malfunction, and you get blank stares.
That’s not an accident. That’s not oversight. That’s deliberate institutional amnesia. Someone high up in the Church hierarchy decided this story needed to die, and they’ve been systematically erasing it from Catholic consciousness for over a century.
The question is why. And the answer connects to prophecies about the end of the world, the final pope, and what might be the largest cover-up in religious history.
October 13, 1917
Let me tell you what actually happened, because you won’t hear this in church.
Three shepherd children in rural Portugal claimed the Virgin Mary had been appearing to them monthly since May. Lúcia dos Santos, age ten, and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto, nine and seven. Illiterate peasant kids who could barely read, suddenly making extraordinary claims about receiving divine messages.
The Virgin told them she would perform a public miracle on October 13th at noon. Not a private vision. Not something requiring faith to perceive. A miracle so spectacular that everyone would have to believe, whether they wanted to or not.
Word spread fast. By October, the story had travelled across Portugal, into Spain, across Catholic Europe. Seventy thousand people showed up in a field outside Fatima. That’s not an exaggeration. Multiple independent sources confirm the crowd size. That’s a modern NFL stadium worth of human beings, gathered in a muddy field to see if three peasant children were prophets or lunatics.
The crowd wasn’t uniformly religious. O Século, one of Portugal’s major secular newspapers, sent its editor, Avelino de Almeida, who’d previously written mocking articles about the apparitions. He came to document mass delusion. Government officials attended to record the embarrassing display of superstition. Scientists showed up to study crowd psychology.
It rained all morning. Heavy, soaking rain that turned the field into a swamp. People stood ankle-deep in mud, clothes drenched, probably wondering what they were doing with their lives.
At noon, the rain stopped.
The clouds parted.
And then the sun started moving wrongly…
Multiple independent witnesses described the same thing. The sun appeared as a silver disk you could stare at directly without hurting your eyes. Then it started spinning. Not the normal celestial movement you see every day, but spinning like a plate someone threw. It threw off multicoloured light. People’s faces turned blue, then yellow, then red as impossible light washed over them.
The sun zigzagged across the sky.
Then it appeared to plunge toward Earth.
Read that again so it sinks in…
Seventy thousand people screamed. They fell to their knees. They begged God for mercy. They thought they were watching the end of the world because the sun was falling out of the sky and about to incinerate Portugal.
This lasted ten minutes. Long enough that it wasn’t a hallucination or a trick of the light. Long enough for people to process what they were seeing, to react, to panic, to pray. Ten full minutes of physical reality behaving impossibly.
Then the sun snapped back into its normal position. The clouds closed. And everyone in that field realized something else impossible had happened: they were completely dry. The ground was dry. Everything that had been soaking wet ten minutes earlier was as if the rain had never happened.
Avelino de Almeida, the skeptical journalist who came to debunk the whole thing, wrote a front-page article describing exactly what he saw. No qualifiers. No attempts to rationalize it. He just reported what happened. His account matches those of believers, government officials, other journalists, and scientists. The same impossible sequence of events, witnessed simultaneously by tens of thousands of people.
The Catholic Church spent thirteen years investigating before officially declaring it “worthy of belief” in 1930. They approved it. They built a massive shrine. They eventually made two of the three children into saints. This is not fringe theology. This is official Church doctrine. The Miracle of the Sun happened.
So where are the photographs?
The Evidence That Disappeared
By 1917, cameras were everywhere. The Brownie camera had been mass-produced since 1900. Journalists carried them as standard equipment. Middle-class families owned them. Soldiers brought them to World War I. Photography was as common as smartphones are today.
And this wasn’t a surprise event. Seventy thousand people travelled to Fatima specifically because children had spent months announcing a miracle would occur on October 13th at noon. They knew something was supposed to happen. They came prepared to document it.
A small handful of photos of the witnesses to the event exist, but none of the actual event itself. This does not make any sense. Someone seized those photos. The question is why.
We know photographers were there because their pictures survive. Multiple photographs exist showing the massive crowd at Cova da Iria, faces turned upward, watching something in the sky. These images are in archives. You can find them online. We have proof that people with functioning cameras were present during the exact moment the solar phenomenon occurred.
But we have zero photographs of the sun itself during the miracle.
Think about how insane that is. You’re a photographer at the most spectacular event you’ll ever witness. The sun is performing impossible aerobatics. Reality is breaking. Seventy thousand people are screaming that the world is ending. And you photograph... the crowd? You capture people’s faces but not the thing they’re watching?
That’s not how photographers work. That’s not how human instinct works. When something impossible happens in the sky, you point your camera at the sky. You document the phenomenon. You capture evidence.
The only explanation is that those photographs existed and were systematically destroyed.
Newspaper archives from O Século and other major publications prove journalists filed detailed written reports. These weren’t small regional papers. These were Portugal’s largest news outlets with photographers on staff. Where are the images? Were they never published? Were they confiscated? Did someone collect them after the fact?
You can’t coordinate seventy thousand people to lie. The logistics are impossible. These were random Portuguese citizens, Spanish visitors, government officials, skeptical journalists, scientists, believers, and atheists. Most didn’t know each other. Many came specifically to prove the children were lying. The idea that they all agreed to fake the same impossible event is absurd.
Something happened. The Church officially recognizes it. But the photographic evidence has been erased while the cameras themselves are documented as being present.
And remember what happened in 1951. The Vatican released those fake photographs, let them achieve global circulation, and then allowed them to be exposed as fraudulent. The real evidence vanished. Fake evidence got debunked publicly. Anyone claiming Fatima was real now had to overcome the association with proven fraud. That’s not incompetence. That’s psychological warfare.
The Three Secrets
The Virgin Mary gave the children three prophecies. Three secrets about the fate of the world and the Church.
The first was a vision of hell. Demons, fire, souls in torment. Terrifying for children, but theologically safe. Catholics believe in hell. No controversy there.
The second predicted World War II before it happened and warned that Russia would spread errors across the world unless consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Both secrets were revealed in 1941 after the events they predicted had already begun. Convenient timing, but again, nothing that threatens Church authority.
The third secret is where everything goes wrong.
Sister Lúcia wrote it down in 1944 under direct orders from her bishop. She sealed it in an envelope with explicit instructions: open and reveal this to the world no later than 1960, when its meaning will be clearer. Some sources claim the Virgin Mary herself specified 1960 as the deadline.
The Vatican received it. Pope Pius XII read it. Pope John XXIII read it in 1960.
And then they locked it away.
They didn’t just delay the release. They actively refused to reveal it. In February 1960, the Vatican issued a statement saying the Church “does not wish to take on the responsibility of guaranteeing the truthfulness of the words that the three shepherd children said the Virgin Mary spoke to them.”

Finally, in 2000, they released what they claimed was the complete text. A symbolic vision of a bishop in white (presumably the pope) being killed by soldiers. The official interpretation: this predicted the 1981 assassination attempt on John Paul II.
That’s it. That’s what required eighty-three years of secrecy. A vague vision about an assassination attempt that didn’t even succeed, released nineteen years after the event it supposedly predicted.
Nobody buys it.
Multiple Church officials have stated publicly that the released text is incomplete. In 2016, reports emerged that Cardinal Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI) told a German priest that the published version wasn’t the full secret. The Vatican denied this, but Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò continues to insist they’re hiding the real content. Italian journalist Antonio Socci spent years investigating and concluded the same thing.
So what’s really in that secret? What’s so terrifying that the Church would lie to the faithful for nearly a century?
I believe the whole truth will soon be revealed when Russia and Turkey ally to take over Europe together, just like Hitler and the Hitler-Stalin Pact before WWII. Why the secrecy? The Vatican doesn't want to acknowledge that it can be manipulated by The Hidden Hand again. But it's inevitable. Remember, Rome was manipulated by the Jewish authorities to persecute Christ and the Christians. Before that, many Old Testament kings tried to use foreign powers to bolster their authority instead of relying on God. It's an age-old pattern.

Our staff at CMS told me they’ve never seen anything like this in Medicaid — and everyone from Gov. Tim Walz on down needs to be investigated, because they’ve been asleep at the wheel. Based on what we know now, this is a clear dereliction of duty.
First, the facts:In recent years, Minnesota Medicaid launched several new programs, including Housing Stabilization Services, which helped disabled homeless individuals, and Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioural Intervention, which reimbursed therapy costs for families with autistic children.
Some bad actors in Minnesota’s Somali community decided to game the system. And when they got away with it, they decided to go bigger.The housing program was supposed to cost $2.6 million annually. Last year, it paid out over $100 million. The autism program ballooned from $3 million in 2018 to nearly $400 million in 2023.These scammers used stolen taxpayer money to buy flashy cars, purchase overseas real estate, and offer kickbacks to parents who enrolled their kids at fake autism treatment centers. Some of it may have even made its way to the Somali terrorist group Al-Shebab.So why didn’t Walz stop them? That’s simple: because he went all-in on identity politics. Somalis are a huge voting bloc, and the state’s leaders were afraid that “forcefully tackling this issue might cause political backlash.” That’s not me saying that. It’s a Somali-American fraud investigator who talked to The New York Times.
Somali scammers get rich off the programs Gov. Walz was supposed to be managing. Minnesota politicians get elected with Somali votes and keep the money flowing. This isn’t just fraud: it’s political patronage at public expense.
When Minnesota told CMS about the problem last year, they assured us they’d handle it. By summer, it was obvious they couldn’t — or wouldn’t. So, we stepped in and shut down the worst program: housing. We also froze provider enrollment in a few of the most abused programs.
So where do we go from here? To restore the integrity of the Medicaid program, Minnesota must
1. Provide CMS with weekly updates on how the state is stopping fraud.
2. Freeze enrollment of all high-risk providers for 6 months.
3. Confirm all providers in place are legitimate or remove them.
4. Send CMS a corrective action plan of how these will prevent this from happening again.
If we’re unsatisfied with the state’s plans or cooperation, we’ll stop paying the federal share of these programs.
The message to Walz is clear: either fix this in 60 days or start looking under your couch for spare change, because we’re done footing the bill for your incompetence.
With CMS on the case, these scammers and their bureaucratic enablers have nowhere left to hide. The vulnerable Americans who depend on these programs — and the taxpayers who fund them — deserve the truth.
