Missile strike near Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Facility has triggered a Russian evacuation, and Moscow is now warning Israel it may have crossed a Red Line.
Meanwhile, Tulsi Gabbard testified that Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan are all advancing nuclear and conventional missile systems capable of reaching America, according to U.S. intelligence.
The IAEA confirmed an Israeli missile struck the site, where hundreds of Russian personnel were stationed. No damage was reported, but the Kremlin made clear its nationals were put in danger. Pima County Sheriff faces Recall effort as fury mounts over Botched Nancy Guthrie Abduction Investigation

Residents of Pima County, Arizona, are moving to fire their sheriff. A recall effort is now underway against Sheriff Chris Nanos, driven by outrage over his department's handling of the abduction of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who was taken from her home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson in the early hours of February 1.
Six weeks later, there is no arrest. No suspect identified publicly. And a growing consensus among those close to the investigation that Guthrie is likely dead.
Republican congressional candidate Daniel Butierez is leading the recall charge, organizing 500 volunteers to collect the roughly 120,000 signatures needed to force the question before voters. The threshold is 25 percent of ballots cast in the 2024 sheriff election, which puts the practical target around 135,000 signatures. They have 120 days to get them.
Butierez did not mince words about the man he wants removed from office:
He has been an embarrassment to Tucson and to Pima County with this Nancy Guthrie case.
A case gone cold while the clock was still ticking
According to the Daily Mail, the facts that have emerged paint a picture of an investigation that stumbled early and never recovered its footing. An armed, source at the sheriff's department described the investigation bluntly:
This case had been at a standstill.
Perhaps the most damning detail involves the crime scene itself. A source close to the case described the suspect as "very careful" and said he "did not appear to leave a huge footprint on the crime." But whatever forensic evidence he did leave may have been compromised. The scene, according to the same source, "was mishandled when it was opened up so quickly." The source added: "Who knows what forensic clues were lost."
That is the kind of error that cannot be undone. You don't get a second chance at a fresh crime scene.
A masked man entered Guthrie's $1 million home and took her. A $6 million Bitcoin ransom demand followed. At one point, the tipline fielded up to 4,000 calls per day. That number has since collapsed to around two dozen, with just two people manning the phones.
The FBI steps in, and Nanos steps back
The FBI has taken a more prominent role in the investigation, with four Pima County detectives now working out of the FBI building. A source at the sheriff's department framed this as a quiet but meaningful shift in authority:
And while Nanos still has overall control and the ultimate say over the investigation, now he is not as involved in the day-to-day things that are being scrutinized. This is good. There will be less meddling from command staff.
When your own department's insiders describe reduced involvement from the sheriff as "good" and use the word "meddling" to characterize command staff's role, the confidence problem is not external. It is structural. Reports also indicate that Pima County police held what was described as a unanimous vote of no confidence in Nanos.
Investigators are reportedly pinning some hope on DNA evidence being processed at a lab in Florida. But the work is painstaking. A source explained that the lab "is trying to accelerate technology they were due to roll out next year in order to unravel it faster," because the crime scene yielded "such a mix of DNA." Technology that doesn't formally exist yet, rushed into service to compensate for a scene that was opened prematurely. That is where this investigation stands.
A daughter's anguish, a family's million-dollar plea
Savannah Guthrie, the NBC Today co-host and Nancy's daughter, posted a video 24 days after the abduction that captured the agonizing limbo her family has endured:
It is day 24 since our mom was taken in the dark of night from her bed. And every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then. Worrying for her, fearing for her, aching for her.
The family announced a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to Nancy's recovery. Savannah Guthrie acknowledged the possibility that her mother may already be gone, but framed the reward as a plea for closure either way:
Somebody knows and we are begging you to please come forward now.
A source close to the investigation offered a grim assessment of the odds:
Is she alive? I think that's very unlikely. Everybody is coming to grips with that. She's elderly, had health problems and to survive in captivity for so long… we obviously don't know for sure, but it would be a miracle.
Meanwhile, the ransom demands and tipline calls have produced their own complications. Multiple contacts initially treated as potentially credible are now believed to have been opportunistic fraud. A source said the "general view now is that these were fakes, people just trying to get some money out of the situation," noting that Nancy had given a tour of her bedroom in a video posted online, providing scammers with enough detail to fabricate credibility.
An emboldened suspect and a broken process
Perhaps the most chilling assessment from sources close to the case concerns the suspect himself. With no arrest and no publicly identified leads, the man who took Nancy Guthrie from her bed remains free. A source described the danger in plain terms:
This guy is emboldened. We've thrown everything at him, and we haven't caught him yet. He's probably watching the news and thinking, man, they're not even close to me. At least from what he's seeing. So, he's still out there and that's a big worry for folks.
That should concern every resident of Pima County. An unidentified suspect who successfully abducted an elderly woman from her home, evaded law enforcement for six weeks, and has reason to believe he's getting away with it. The community is not safer today than it was on February 1.
What the recall requires
The mechanics of removing Nanos are straightforward but demanding. Butierez and his volunteers need to collect approximately 120,000 valid signatures within 120 days. Once submitted, the Pima County Recorder has 60 days to verify them. If the signatures hold up, the sheriff is given five days to either resign or trigger a Special Recall Election.
Butierez says he has 500 volunteers working the effort and expressed confidence that Nanos won't be able to intimidate him out of it, telling reporters: "I'm a congressional candidate... and I don't see Nanos messing with me."
Whether the recall succeeds or not, the underlying indictment is already written. When your own officers vote no confidence, when federal investigators quietly absorb the operational work, when the crime scene was compromised before the investigation truly began, the leadership question answers itself.
An 84-year-old woman was stolen from her bed. Six weeks later, her family is begging strangers for information, a Florida lab is racing to deploy unfinished technology, and the man who took her has every reason to feel untouchable. Somewhere in that chain of failures, accountability has to land.
The people of Pima County have decided where.
