UPDATED 2:22 PM EDT: F-16 VIDEO - FLYING OVER ODESSA UKRAINE; ARMED FORCES UKRAINE STRIKE LUHANSK, DONETSK, BELGOROD, - ALL CIVILIAN AREAS!

Two F-16 fighter jets have been video recorded over Odessa, Ukraine. Meanwhile, the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) have attacked civilian areas of Luhansk, Donetsk, and Belgorod, Russia.

Video taken today shows the F-16's presumably being piloted by Ukrainians, flying over what is said to be Odessa:

Elsewhere, huge plumes of smoke are rising in Luhansk as Kiev's army strikes the Donbass city with several types of weapons.

Fires reported in multiple locations.

Donetsk (ex-Ukraine) comes under fire as well - no report yet on casualties.

Kiev's regime also deliberately attacked civilians in Belgorod (pre-war Russia), murdering woman and injuring others.

It appears that Ukrainian formations have just carried out a massive launch of cruise missiles on Luhansk. Air defense is operating in the city and region, with local residents reporting at least six explosions within the city limits.

According to preliminary information, the impacts were in the area of the Luhansk Higher Air Force School, where a fire broke out.

There is no information yet on casualties or destruction.

A 75-year-old woman has been killed in Shebekino when a Ukrainian UAV flew into her window and exploded.The town, near Belgorod, was attacked twice on Sunday morning. As a result, two men were wounded and a woman was killed, regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported.Gladkov said the grounds of a social facility and a residential area were hit by Ukrainian drones.

Other sources are saying the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired 12 Western-made missiles at Luhansk; Presumably, eight ATACMS missiles and four Storm Shadows,” said the head of the LPR.

 Catholic Bishops Demand Genuine Apology from Olympic Committee for ‘intentionally hateful’ Ceremony

Bishops from the Americas, Europe and Africa have called upon the International Olympic Committee to ‘repudiate’ the ‘intentionally hateful mockery’ of the Last Supper during the 2024 Olympics.

(LifeSiteNews) — Bishops from across the globe have called upon the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in an open letter to “repudiate” the “intentionally hateful mockery” of the Last Supper during the 2024 Olympics ceremony and apologize for it “to all people of faith.”

 

As of Friday, Aug. 2, three cardinals and 24 bishops from nearly every continent signed the letter, by which they committed to “a day of prayer and fasting in reparation for this blasphemy.”

“With shock, the world watched as the Summer Olympics in Paris opened with a grotesque and blasphemous depiction of the Last Supper,” the prelates wrote. “It is hard to understand how the faith of over 2 billion people can be so casually and intentionally blasphemed.”

 

“We, Catholic bishops from around the world, on behalf of Christians everywhere, demand that the Olympic Committee repudiate this blasphemous action and apologize to all people of faith,” the letter continues.


While a majority of the signatories are from the U.S., including Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco, Archbishop Emeritus Charles Chaput, OFM Cap, of Philadelphia, and Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, bishops from Nigeria, Lebanon, England, France, and Argentina have also signed the letter, as well as Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Astana, Kazakhstan.

 

Signing cardinals include Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke; Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier, OFM; and Cardinal Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel, CM.

The 2024 pre-Olympics ceremony featuring drag queens parodying Leonardo da Vinci’s painting The Last Supper sparked an outcry around the world, especially from Christians, but also from Muslims like Andrew Tate and secular figures like Elon Musk.

 

Thomas Jolly, the ceremony’s homosexual director, claimed after international outrage that the blasphemous ceremony was not meant to imitate the Last Supper but rather pagan gods. However, the woman in the center of the blasphemous display, Barbara Butch, admitted that she was imitating Jesus Christ, having posted on her Instagram account that she depicted “Olympic Jesus.”

 

Another post from Butch’s Instagram account reads, “Oh yes! Oh yes! A New Gay Testament,” along with a picture of the blasphemous and obscene ceremony next to an image of the Last Supper.  

Bishop Robert Barron of Diocese of Rochester, Minnesota, who decried the display as a “gross, flippant mockery of the Christian faith,” has rejected the quasi-apology offered by the IOC, in which they stated they were “sorry” if “anyone was offended by certain scenes.”

 

Bishop Barron called the half-hearted “apology” “a masterpiece of woke duplicity” in a video posted to X on July 29.

“Christians were offended because it was offensive and it was intended to be offensive,” Barron said. “So please don’t patronize us with this condescending remark about, well, if you had any, you know, bad feelings, we’re awfully sorry about that.”

 

“A real apology would be something like:

This was a mistake. It should never have been done, and we’re sorry for it,” he said, adding, “I don’t think Christians should be mollified; I think we should keep raising our voices.”

In addition to offering a day of prayer and fasting, the letter’s signatory prelates “will offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in which Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection are made present to us … ”

Cheater Cheatle tattle Tales:

Disgraced former Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle and top leadership wanted to destroy the cocaine discovered at the White House last summer, but was rejected by the agency’s forensics division, according to reports.

RealClearPolitics reported Monday that “multiple heated confrontations and disagreements over how best to handle the cocaine ensued” after a Secret Service Uniformed Division officer found the bag on July 2, 2023, according to three Secret Service sources.

The discovery of the cocaine led many to speculate that it belonged to Hunter Biden in part because he had a well-documented addiction to cocaine and visited the White House shortly before the cocaine was found in the “work area” of the West Wing.

That’s when the cover-up began, according to the sources.

From RCP:

At least one Uniformed Division officer was initially assigned to investigate the cocaine incident. But after he told his supervisors, including Cheatle and Acting Secret Service Director Ron Rowe, who was deputy director at the time, that he wanted to follow a certain crime-scene investigative protocol, he was taken off the case, according to a source within the Secret Service community familiar with the circumstances of his removal.

 

The report when on to explain how the discovery of the bag of cocaine “posed an unusual problem for Cheatle” because she had gotten close to the Biden family while serving in Joe’s protective detail and knew the incident “would spark a media firestorm.”

And unfortunately for her and the Biden White House, the incident could not be covered up because the discovery of the cocaine by a Secret Service forensics officer led to a precautionary evacuation of the premises that included members of the press.

 

Shortly after the investigation began, Cheatle contacted the Forensics Services Division asking for them to destroy the bag of cocaine because agency leaders wanted to close the case, but was denied.

It’s unclear exactly when Cheatle and other top officials tried to persuade the Forensics Services Division to destroy the evidence. At some point during the investigation, Matt White, the vault supervisor, received a call from Cheatle or someone speaking on her behalf asking him to destroy the bag of cocaine because agency leaders wanted to close the case, according to two sources in the Secret Service community.

 

“Protocol is, whether you act on the [DNA] hit or not, we still have to maintain evidence for a period of up to seven years,” a source told RCP. “It became a big to-do.”

White’s boss, Glenn Dennis, the head of the Forensics Services Division, then conferred with the Uniformed Division, which first discovered the cocaine.

“A decision was made not to get rid of the evidence, and it really pissed off Cheatle,” a source in the Secret Service community said in an interview.

 

At that point, the cocaine was sent to the FBI’s crime lab for fingerprint and DNA analysis, and the sources claimed the Bureau ran the DNA material against national criminal databases and “got a partial hit.”

“The Congressional oversight committees need to put White under oath and confirm the ‘partial hit,’” a source told RCP. “Then the FBI needs to explain who the partial hit was against, then determine what blood family member has ties to the White House or what person matching the partial hit was present at the White House that weekend.”

“That’s because they didn’t want to know, or even narrow down the field of who it could be,” a source stated. “It could have been Hunter Biden, it could have been a staffer, it could have been someone doing a tour – we’ll never know.”

 

The sources also claimed the Secret Service, “under pressure from Cheatle and other top agency officials”, chose not to run additional DNA searches or conduct interviews with the hundreds of people who work in the White House.

Notably, the Secret Service had denied a FOIA request for names of the individuals who had access to where the cocaine was found in the White House.

During the scandal, the White House refused to answer whether the cocaine came from a Biden family member and attacked reporters asking about it as “irresponsible.”

Less than two weeks after launching its probe, the Secret Service announced it closed the investigation into how cocaine ended up at the White House without identifying a suspect.

“On July 12, the Secret Service received the FBI’s laboratory results, which did not develop latent fingerprints, and insufficient DNA was present for investigative comparisons. Therefore, the Secret Service is not able to compare evidence against the known pool of individuals.”

 

“There was no surveillance video footage found that provided investigative leads or any other means for investigators to identify who may have deposited the found substance in this area. Without physical evidence, the investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered.”

“At this time, the Secret Service’s investigation is closed due to a lack of physical evidence. The U.S. Secret Service takes its mission to protect U.S. leaders, facilities, and events seriously, and we are constantly adapting to meet the needs of the current and future security environment.”

 

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.), who’s been demanding answers on the cocaine controversy since the beginning, lambasted Cheatle in light of this report.

“We’re now learning that former Secret Service Director Cheatle was pushing to destroy the cocaine found in the White House without telling anybody. Cover up after cover up after cover up,” he wrote on X.

Judge Chutkan Sets Trial Date for August 16:

In a move that has stunned everyone, Judge Chutkan, who presides over the Trump election interference case, is now moving forward with the trial.

She has set an August 16 hearing date, throwing a significant wrench into Trump's re-election bid.

All Cases on Hold for Presidential Immunity Ruling

One of the main reasons Judge Chutkan stalled the Trump case was the pending presidential immunity motion that Trump had filed. The case had made its way to the Supreme Court, which more or less regurgitated previous rulings while at the same time kicking the case back down to the lower court to define the alleged crime committed by Donald Trump.

 

News outlets and the Democrats went ballistic over the ruling, but there was nothing new in the opinion released in the majority decision. The court just reaffirmed previous rulings by the Supreme Court on this issue, some of which date back to the Nixon administration. Contrary to the dissenting opinion by Justice Sotomayor, the ruling would not give immunity to any president if they tried to use a SEAL Team to assassinate a political opponent.

 

This was blatant fearmongering by Sotomayor and every Democrat who pitched the same narrative. But because the court sent the case back to the lower courts, most of us assumed the election interference case would be delayed until litigation was completed in the presidential immunity case. On Saturday, however, a bombshell announcement hit that Judge Chutkan would move forward.

 

Chutkan Announces Hearing Date in Election Interference Case

On Saturday, Judge Chutkan announced that a status conference hearing would be held on August 16 at 10:00 a.m. Both sides have until August 9 to file their status reports for the hearing and to schedule possible "pretrial proceedings moving forward."

 

In her filing, Judge Chutkan also stated, "If necessary, the parties may explain any disagreements in separate sections of the report." I would expect that Trump's team will continue to argue that all prosecutions should be delayed until after the election, but based on her previous comments, I really don't think Chutkan cares very much about the election and how the trial will impact it.

 

When this hearing takes place, Chutkan is expected to release a full schedule of hearings leading up to the main trial.

The final issue addressed in Chutkan's filing was Trump's motion to dismiss the indictment, which she denied. However, she did note that Trump could file a new motion "once all issues of immunity have been resolved."

 

Analysis

Now, I need to be clear: it is still not likely that the trial itself will be held before the election, but the fact that Chutkan is now moving forward means that Trump is going to have to deal with the press from these hearings during the election cycle, something that he was hoping to avoid. Any negative ruling against Trump will mean positive press for Kamala Harris as well as ammunition for Democrats to use against Trump during this election cycle.

 

While I still believe the case will not be held before the election, there is no telling what Chutkan has up her sleeve regarding this August 16 hearing. There is the potential for her to just deny any Trump motions and then push forward with the case within six to eight weeks, but again, that is a longshot. This hearing date also means that Chutkan, regardless of the outcome of the election, will do everything in her power to get this case into a courtroom before inauguration day if Trump wins.

 

She knows that if Trump wins the election, this case will be dead once he is sworn in, and I doubt she wants to risk Trump getting a walk in this case.
