Ever since God revealed Himself to man, the two have sought a place to meet together. In the beginning, Adam fellowshipped with God under the garden's canopy. As Israel was led out of Egypt, God gave Moses instructions for the tabernacle of meeting. God met with Israel in that temporary habitation until a temple was built for Him in Shiloh. And when King David desired to build the Lord a house in Jerusalem, his son Solomon oversaw the temple’s construction.
Did God need those earthly dwellings? Of course not. Why, then, commission them? God desires His people to worship together in a place dedicated to Him, even if that gathering place must be under the shade of a tree or beneath a blanket of stars.
Houses of worship may differ in structure or location, yet one thing never changes—the way in which God builds. “O LORD, our God all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own” (1 Chronicles 29:16).

Two years after claims were first made about the clandestine burial of Indigenous children at a former residential school in B.C.’s Sunshine Coast, the Shíshálh First Nation announced that an additional 41 unmarked graves have been “discovered,” despite no sites being physically excavated.
The Shíshálh Nation first announced in 2023 that 40 unmarked graves were detected based on the results of ground-penetrating radar scans around the area of the former school.
The new findings bring the total number of unmarked graves claimed at the site to 81. To date, no actual excavations have taken place.
“We are deeply saddened, but these numbers are not a surprise to us. We have always believed our Elders. This wasn’t a school, it wasn’t a choice, and the children who attended were stolen,” Chief Lenora Joe said in a video statement on Friday.
“We didn’t need the GPR to prove this happened; we always had enough proof to know.”
The nation asked that people not focus on the numbers or become “desensitized” to the idea of unmarked graves.
However, these claims have yet to be substantiated by any third-party researchers.
According to Joe, any further work will be paused temporarily to allow for reflection within the community and to let the children rest.
The nation also requested privacy from the public but said that people can show their support by wearing orange shirts and flying flags at half-mast.
According to the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, five children died while attending the school, which opened in 1904.
“In 1923, the parents withdrew their children from the school to protest the poor quality of education, harsh discipline, and inadequate diet,” writes the NCTR.
“The protest led to the appointment of a new principal and an increase in school funding. The facility closed in June 1975.”
The shíshálh Nation’s claims come on the heels of the fourth anniversary of claims that were made that at least 200 potential children were buried beneath the former Kamloops Indian Residential School site based on ground-penetrating radar.
The federal government initially responded to the claims by creating a committee, co-administered by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and the federal Department of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs.
However, the government discontinued the committee’s funding in February. Although the search began in 2021, no bodies have been located.
According to a report from the Angus Reid Institute last week, 63 per cent of Canadians and 56 per cent of Indigenous people “hold the view that further evidence through exhumation is necessary to accept that the remains of children are buried at the site.”
The Kamloops ground-penetrating radar initiative also led to other former residential school sites conducting excavations in hopes of finding other clandestine burials.
In August 2021, a team of researchers in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia, excavated the former Shubenacadie Residential School in search of remains but found no conclusive evidence.
In October of 2021, an excavation was conducted for unmarked graves on the site of the former Camsell Hospital in Edmonton. The hospital used to treat Indigenous people who suffered from tuberculosis, and some believed that the dig would uncover patients who had been buried there; however, no such evidence was discovered.
In August 2023, a four-week excavation was conducted in a church basement in Pine Creek, Manitoba, which was formerly part of a residential school run by the Catholic Church from 1890 to 1969.
Minegoziibe Ashinabe, a First Nations tribe northwest of Winnipeg, hired a team of archaeologists to dig up the church basement following 14 abnormalities that were detected in the soil by ground-penetrating radar equipment.
However, no human remains were found in the search.

The Trudeau government’s claim that it moved the 2025 federal election date out of “cultural sensitivity” for Diwali has been exposed as a political smokescreen — one that would have handed lucrative lifetime pensions to dozens of Liberal and NDP MPs.
On March 20, 2024, Dominic LeBlanc’s office announced that the fixed election date of October 20, 2025, would be pushed back one week to “avoid conflict” with the Hindu festival.
But an internal Elections Canada report — obtained by Blacklock’s Reporter — directly contradicted that rationale, stating:
No combination of election day and advance poll days can avoid all conflicts.
The agency had already consulted with 121 religious and cultural organizations, from the Anglican Church to the World Sikh Organization, and knew it was impossible to avoid overlap with major events — including Quebec municipal advance polls, Nunavut’s general election, and other religious observances. Advance voting exists precisely to accommodate such situations.
The one-week shift would have allowed roughly 28 Liberal and NDP MPs — many already on track to lose their seats — to cross the six-year service threshold, unlocking pensions averaging $81,140 per year for life.
The rescheduled election still ended up falling during Holy Week, undercutting the government’s stated goal of avoiding religious conflicts.
Elections Canada has also faced accusations of bias, including secret meetings with the Liberals and NDP — but not Conservatives — about changing the election date, and inaction on third-party campaigns targeting Conservative candidates.

— The Final Nail In Adam Schiff’s Coffin!
Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA), once the face of the failed impeachment campaign against President Donald Trump, is now embroiled in his own web of corruption.
Newly released financial records reveal that Schiff has been enjoying rock-bottom mortgage rates and questionable tax breaks for years, benefits now under the scrutiny of the Department of Justice as prosecutors weigh criminal charges that could carry decades in prison.
Documents obtained by The New York Post show that Schiff, who has built his political career around lecturing others that “no one is above the law,” is paying just 3 percent on both his Maryland mansion and his California condo after refinancing in 2020.
That rate is lower than the national average of 3.1 percent for primary residences at the time, and far below what most Americans could obtain on a second home. Secondary residences typically carry a rate penalty of up to half a point, but Schiff’s lenders gave him the same favorable deal on both properties.
The deal saved Schiff tens of thousands of dollars and is now drawing sharp questions from investigators. For more than 16 years, Schiff claimed both his 3,420-square-foot Maryland estate and his 650-square-foot Burbank condo as “primary residences,” a designation that padded his wealth with both reduced mortgage costs and a $7,000 California property tax break.
Only in 2020, when the issue became impossible to ignore, did he finally change the designation on his Maryland home. By then, the financial benefit was already locked in.
A grand jury in Maryland is actively considering a criminal indictment against Schiff, who is accused of wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, and making false statements to financial institutions. Each of those charges carries a maximum penalty of up to 30 years in federal prison.
While the Department of Justice has not announced a timetable, multiple outlets report that prosecutors are closely examining the circumstances of Schiff’s refinancing deals and how he managed to secure rates far below market norms.
The Maryland home, located in one of the D.C. area’s wealthiest suburbs, has nearly doubled in value since Schiff purchased it for about $750,000 in 2003. Neighbors told The Post that Schiff spends the majority of his time at the Maryland property, despite representing California in Congress for more than two decades.
Yet it was the far smaller Burbank condo that Schiff insisted was his “primary” home on tax filings, enabling him to claim exemptions while simultaneously receiving mortgage perks in Maryland.
Financial disclosures also show Schiff’s personal wealth soaring during this period. His bank assets jumped from as little as $578,000 in 2002, the year before he bought the Maryland mansion, to between $1.18 million and $2.63 million in 2024. Strikingly, Schiff failed to even list his mortgages on financial disclosure forms until 2011, years after purchasing both homes, an omission he has never publicly explained.
President Trump, who has long referred to Schiff as “Shifty,” said he was not surprised by the revelations. “I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Republican National Committee Press Secretary Kiersten Pels also weighed in, saying Schiff’s behavior was part of a pattern.
“Adam Schiff’s baseless smears of corruption against President Trump and Republicans have one simple explanation — he’s projecting. Schiff is a proven liar, a con man, and a fraud.”
Schiff has denied wrongdoing and attempted to dismiss the probe as political retaliation. “Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason,” Schiff wrote on X. “This is just Donald Trump’s latest attempt at political retaliation against his perceived enemies.”
A spokesperson insisted that “Senator Schiff received the rate that each lender deemed appropriate with full knowledge of the senator’s year-round bicoastal work obligations as a member of Congress, his use of two homes for that reason, and his creditworthiness.”
The spokesperson further tried to deflect by attacking Trump directly, saying, “It’s laughable that Donald Trump, who turned the presidency into a pay-to-play scheme to enrich himself, is desperate to project his own corruption onto others.”
The allegations come on the heels of another explosive development. Recently declassified FBI memos, handed over to Congress by Director Kash Patel, revealed that a Democratic intelligence officer who worked closely with Schiff repeatedly warned the bureau that Schiff had personally authorized leaks of classified material in order to damage Trump during the now-debunked Russia collusion probe.
According to the memos, Schiff encouraged the release of derogatory information about Trump despite the lack of evidence.
For years, Schiff used his perch on the House Intelligence Committee to present himself as a champion of accountability and the rule of law. Now, the man who pushed the Russia hoax and led the first Trump impeachment is facing his own legal reckoning.
With a federal grand jury examining evidence of mortgage fraud and new revelations about his role in leaking classified material, the California senator’s credibility is collapsing.
The irony is not lost on conservatives: Adam Schiff built his reputation by accusing others of corruption, and now he stands accused of the very crimes he claimed to fight. If the charges move forward, Schiff could go from senator to felon — proving once and for all that his claim that “no one is above the law” may finally apply to him.

Navy to Cut at least a Third of its Civilian Public-Affairs Staff:
The service is also centralizing all PAO hiring and contracting.
The Navy’s chief of information office is on the clock to deliver a plan that will reduce the service’s civilian public-affairs staff by at least 35 percent, according to a memo signed by Navy Secretary John Phelan earlier this month.
The move would also centralize hiring for all civilian PAOs and all communications-related contracting to Department of the Navy headquarters. While the Marine Corps is not being directed to cut its civilian billets, it will be subject to the same new hiring and contracting practices.
“This initiative is essential to eliminate duplicative roles, concentrate talent on the highest priority functions, focus contracting support where it is most needed and ensure alignment with commitment to mission-driven resource management, cost savings and operational lethality,” Phelan wrote in the memo, which gives the department 45 days from its Aug. 7 signing to submit a plan.
The Navy and Marine Corps public affairs reorganization comes just weeks after the Army announced it would rebrand its central Office of the Chief of Public Affairs to the Army Global Communications Office, though cuts to force structure were not part of that announcement.
Earlier this year, the Army pushed out Brig. Gen. Amanda Azubuike, who had been serving as the chief of public affairs since June 2024. Rather than a uniformed service member, the service will soon have a political appointee helming its communications office: a fundraising consultant for North Carolina Republican campaigns named Rebecca Hodson.

Meanwhile, the Navy is about to turn over its top uniformed PAO role, held for the last three years by Rear Adm. Ryan Perry. In an email to the Navy PAO community on Thursday, Perry wrote that he would retire Oct. 1 and his deputy, Rear Adm. John Robinson, would step in until the service convenes a selection board for a permanent replacement.
The Navy’s reorganization comes from a January review that found that the department “lacks a centralized communications strategy, resulting in individual commands and offices developing messaging without incorporating broader priorities,” Phelan wrote in the memo.
Further, he continues, public affairs strategies haven’t been “validated” and thus result in redundancies and “inefficient use of taxpayer funds.”
There are about 400 civilian PAOs working for the Navy, according to the service’s human resources website. The memo does not give detailed guidance on how cuts should be decided, only that cuts should focus on eliminating redundancies, should consider swapping in a uniformed PAO if possible, and each retained job will require a justification of its “mission-critical requirements.”
Slashing Defense Department civilian jobs has been a key feature of the second Trump administration, going back to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s directive in February to reduce their numbers by 5 to 8 percent, alongside a hiring freeze that rescinded existing job offers.
That would add up to more than 60,000 of the 770,000 civilians who worked for DOD at the beginning of this year. Though some have left voluntarily through buyouts and early retirement offers, the Pentagon has refused to say exactly how many members of its workforce it has shed so far.

After a night spent bargaining with the help of a federal mediator, the Canadian Union of Public Employees announced early this morning that they’ve reached a tentative agreement with Air Canada to send its 10,000 flight attendants back to work. “The strike has ended,” CUPE posted online. The airline said it would begin resuming operations this evening, and that the return to regular service could take up to 10 days.
The latest: Those nighttime talks were the first to take place since Friday, a day before the flight attendants went on strike. They had stayed out on the picket line yesterday, even after the federal labour relations board declared their strike illegal and ordered CUPE to send them back to work.
As that noon deadline flew past, CUPE national president Mark Hancock insisted there was “no limit” to how long his members would keep defying federal orders in this dispute over wages and unpaid labour. Last night, Patty Hajdu, the federal Jobs Minister, posted on social media that she would launch a probe into allegations of unpaid work in the airline sector. She included a hashtag often used by the union: #UnpaidWorkWontFly.
The work: Currently, Air Canada flight attendants are paid an hourly wage for the time planes are up in the air – not for all the work that occurs during boarding, or deplaning, or increasingly frequent (and increasingly lengthy) flight delays. A key CUPE demand is compensation for this work, known as “ground time,” which the union says averages out to 35 hours of free labour each month. Although Porter and Delta airlines have started to pay their flight attendants for a part of that ground time, the practice remains widespread in the industry.
The law: Hours after Air Canada flight attendants walked out early Saturday morning, Hajdu used a contentious piece of labour law to intervene in the strike. Section 107 of the Canadian Labour Code gives the federal government unilateral power to order binding arbitration and end work stoppages in the interest of securing “industrial peace.” It’s the fourth time in the past year that Section 107 has been invoked – but it’s the first time a union refused to comply. (Canada’s railway, port and postal workers all returned to their jobs right after the orders.) That puts Ottawa in a bind, Alison Braley-Rattai, a professor of labour studies at Brock University, told The Globe: “What do they want to be seen doing to this group of flight attendants who are not being paid for work they do, 70 per cent of whom are women?”
