AI’s medical misfires

For the past two decades, befuddled patients searching for medical insight have turned to the internet, plugging in symptoms and clicking around websites in order to self-diagnose. But now that Dr. Google has completed its AI residency, chatbots are fast becoming a go-to source of health information. Every day, according to OpenAI, 40 million people around the world use ChatGPT for health care advice.

 

And Canadians are no exception. A new report out today from the Canadian Medical Association found that half the people surveyed consult ChatGPT and Google AI summaries about their health issues. This has – to put it mildly – not worked out great for them. Canadians who followed AI counsel for analysis and treatment were five times more likely to suffer adverse effects than those who did not.

 

You can probably guess the reasons for that. AI chatbots are overly confident, wildly agreeable diagnosticians that tend to dole out terrible medical advice. When University of Waterloo researchers prompted OpenAI’s GPT-4 with open-ended medical questions, it got the answers wrong roughly two-thirds of the time.

 

In another 2025 study, Harvard researchers found chatbots rarely pushed back on nonsensical requests such as: “Tell me why acetaminophen is safer than Tylenol.” (It’s the same drug.) AI likes to be a yes-bot, and its sycophantic nature prioritizes helpfulness over critical reasoning and honesty.

 

Google’s AI Overviews – now basically unavoidable on any given search – don’t fare much better, either. Last month, an investigation by The Guardian found these summaries provided incorrect and misleading health information, which experts alternatively described as “alarming,” “really dangerous,” and “completely wrong.” In one case, AI Overviews advised people with pancreatic cancer to avoid high-fat foods (false); in another, it listed pap smears as a test for vaginal cancer (also false).

The Guardian then reported that AI Overviews cited YouTube more than any medical website when answering health questions. Researchers at SE Ranking, a search engine optimization platform, examined some 50,000 Google queries in Germany and revealed that YouTube made up nearly 4.5 per cent of AI Overviews citations. Medical associations, academic institutions, hospital networks and government health sites all trailed distantly behind. “This matters because YouTube is not a medical publisher,” the researchers wrote. “Anyone can upload content there.”

 

If you dig around AI companies’ terms of service, you can find similar warnings that their platforms are not medical experts nor substitutes for proper care. You will have to do that digging, though, because chatbots essentially abandoned their former habit of including disclaimers in any health response. In 2022, more than 26 per cent of their answers offered some variation on “I’m not a doctor” or “I am not qualified to give medical advice.” By last year, that number dipped below 1 per cent.

 

It’s not as though Canadians are unaware of AI’s shortcomings. According to the CMA’s new survey, only a quarter of us actually trust these platforms to deliver accurate health information. But ChatGPT will never hustle you out of the exam room, or make you wait 12 months to see a specialist, or retire abruptly and leave you with no family doctor at all.

 

Chatbots can be a gamble worth taking when there’s nowhere else to turn. “If you don’t have ready access to care,” CMA president Margot Burnell told The Globe, “this is where you go.”

From Toronto to Ottawa, Iranians repeat a single demand... FREEDOM!

Freedom for Iran through Reza Pahlavi’s transitional plan to democracy.


Over the past few weeks, I’ve been receiving messages from multiple Iranians in Ottawa, pleading with me to come and cover their rallies. They’ve received very little media exposure. The only outlet they mentioned attending their demonstrations was CTV, and many in the Iranian community expressed a deep dissatisfaction with the way their protests have been covered. So, on Sunday, February 8, I made the trip back to the capital to head to Parliament Hill and meet with Ottawa’s Iranian community.


I was surprised to learn that these rallies take place weekly, every single Sunday, on Parliament Hill, followed by a march to City Hall. It was bitterly cold, hovering around -20°C, which was reminiscent of the Freedom Convoy days, when Canadians gathered in this very same location four years ago.


As we walked to City Hall, I spoke with both organizers and rally attendees. They expressed frustration over the lack of media coverage — not only of their demonstrations, but of what is happening inside Iran — as well as dissatisfaction with the Canadian government and its failure to enforce the removal of IRGC terrorists from Canada.


In June 2024, Canada finally designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. This came more than four years after 55 Canadian citizens and 30 permanent residents were killed when the IRGC shot down Flight PS752. Despite the terrorist designation, it is estimated that roughly 700 IRGC agents are still operating in Canada. Iranians say the government has not done enough to rid the country of these terrorists.

Though we were hours from Toronto, the message Iranians wanted the world to hear remained the same, a message echoed across the Iranian diaspora and from voices inside Iran itself. Iranians want the return of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to Iran, along with his transitional plan for a democratic Iran following the fall of the regime. This does not mean Iranians want to be governed by another dictator. A monarchy does not mean the absence of democracy. Reza Pahlavi’s plan calls for allowing the people of Iran to decide their own future — a plan that can be viewed here.


As Iranians continue to gather every week on Parliament Hill, braving the cold and the near-total absence of media attention, their message remains clear. They are not asking for Canadians to speak on their behalf; they are asking to be heard. Until their rallies receive the same level of scrutiny and coverage afforded to other movements, and until the Canadian government takes action to enforce its own terrorist designations, the frustration within the Iranian community will only continue to grow. For now, they return to Parliament Hill every Sunday, determined to keep showing up and to continue protesting until freedom for Iran is finally achieved — whether the cameras are there or not.

Judicial Watch Senior Attorney T. Russell Nobile to Testify before Congress on Restoring ‘Trust and Integrity in Federal Elections


(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced that T. Russell Nobile, a senior Judicial Watch attorney and election law expert, will provide testimony on Tuesday, February 10, before the House Committee on House Administration at a hearing titled: “Make Elections Great Again: How to Restore Trust and Integrity in Federal Elections.”

 

House Republicans hope to advance this week the “Make Elections Great Again Act” (H.R. 7300), a sweeping elections overhaul that would mandate photo identification for voting in federal elections and require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote. Nobile’s testimony also comes as the Supreme Court of the United States is considering a Judicial Watch case to apply federal law to prohibit states from counting mail-in ballots that arrive after Election Day. 

 

In January, the Supreme Court ruled 7-2 in favour of granting standing in a historic case filed by Judicial Watch on behalf of Congressman Mike Bost and two presidential electors, who were before the court to vindicate their standing to challenge an Illinois law allowing the counting of ballots received up to 14 days after Election Day

NYC Mayor Mamdani sides with knife-wielding suspect, draws sharp rebuke from police advocates

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is catching heat after publicly backing a 22-year-old man who allegedly charged at NYPD officers with a large kitchen knife — and suggesting the man needs therapy, not a courtroom.

Jabez Chakraborty was shot by officers in Queens after the encounter, which began when his own family requested an involuntary removal. That request, by its nature, requires both police and EMS to respond. Officers arrived because the family called for help. And when Chakraborty allegedly came at them with a blade, they did what officers are trained to do.


None of that stopped Mamdani from visiting Chakraborty's hospital room, meeting with his family, and holding a news conference where he framed the incident not as a law enforcement matter — but as a mental health tragedy in which the real failure was the system's reliance on police.


The mayor's message

At his news conference, Mamdani steered the conversation away from the man who allegedly lunged at officers with a kitchen knife and toward the suffering of the suspect's family:


We are talking about a family that is enduring the kind of pain that no family should, and an individual who has lived with schizophrenia for many years.

He then laid out a broader vision — one that should alarm every New Yorker who dials 911 expecting a police officer to show up:


A person experiencing a mental health episode does not always have to be served first or exclusively by a police officer. It is important for us to have all of the options available.

According to Fox News, Mamdani also echoed the family's argument that Chakraborty needs "mental health treatment, not criminal prosecution from a district attorney." That framing lands differently when you remember that the Queens district attorney's office is investigating the incident — and preliminary reports suggest prosecutors are considering an indictment for attempted murder.


The mayor of the nation's largest city, in other words, is publicly lobbying against prosecution while prosecutors are actively weighing charges.


A pattern, not an accident

This wasn't a one-off moment of compassion. It was the latest expression of a governing philosophy Mamdani has been building since his 2025 campaign, when he made the mental health crisis a centrepiece of his platform. In isolation, that sounds reasonable. In practice, it has produced a mayor who:

  • Signalled the disbanding of the NYPD's protest unit

  • Proposed replacing cops with social workers and "transit ambassadors" on certain 911 calls

  • Called for higher taxes on the top 1%

  • Appointed an ex-con as NYC corrections commissioner

Each decision tells the same story. Mamdani views law enforcement not as the city's shield but as part of the problem — an institution to be shrunk, sidelined, and eventually replaced by something softer. The Chakraborty case gave him a stage to say it out loud.


The people who actually showed up

Fox News contributor Guy Benson pointed to a video of the encounter, saying it made clear that officers exhausted every option before firing. His assessment of Mamdani's hospital visit cut to the core of the issue:


To then go in solidarity with the knife-wielder who ignored those orders from the police and to show up in that hospital room like he's the true victim in this rather than the police officer who finally fired his weapon in self-defence…


It says everything about this mayor of this town, what he sees as his worldview, who he sees as victims and aggressors, and I don't think the movie gets better from here.

Joey Jones, co-host of "The Big Weekend Show," was blunter about what the officers on scene actually did — and what it means for a mayor to second-guess them:


For Mamdani to take any position on this that would paint that police officer as doing anything but what you would teach in a course is malpractice for the position he holds, and I hope that someone holds him accountable for it.


Jones added that Mamdani's stance warrants the kind of visible backlash from law enforcement that has surfaced before — officers turning their backs on city leaders who refuse to stand behind them.


The contradiction no one on the left will address

Here is the part that never gets resolved in the progressive framework: the family called the police. They requested an involuntary removal because they could not safely manage their son's crisis on their own. The system Mamdani wants to dismantle is the system that the family activated. The officers Mamdani is undermining are the officers who responded to a family's plea.


If Mamdani's vision had already been implemented — social workers dispatched instead of armed officers — what exactly happens when the person in crisis picks up a kitchen knife and charges? The mayor hasn't answered that question. He doesn't have to, because the current framework still sends officers who can defend themselves and others. He benefits from the very system he's trying to replace, then criticizes it when it functions as designed.


Mental illness is real. Schizophrenia is devastating. No serious person denies this. But compassion for a suspect does not require contempt for the officers who put themselves between a blade and a neighbourhood. Mamdani could have acknowledged the family's pain, called for better mental health infrastructure, and still backed the officers who did their jobs. He chose not to.


That choice — standing in a hospital room beside the man who allegedly tried to kill police officers, while saying nothing about the officers who had to make a split-second decision to survive — tells New York's finest everything they need to know about who their mayor is.


The officers showed up because a family begged for help. Mamdani showed up to undermine them for answering the call.

The United States on Friday announced new sanctions to curb Iran’s oil exports, including targeting 14 vessels, moments after the adversaries wrapped up a day of indirect talks in Oman.

Yes — based on recent actions, the U.S. appears more focused on constraining Iran’s oil revenue than on escalating pressure over its nuclear program. The nuclear issue is still on the table, but the economic chokehold is where Washington is applying real force right now.



Here's why I asked AI.  Because the millions of Persian Christians in Iran are praying, the time has arrived for God to establish his throne in Elam as per Jeremiah 49:38.

Where is Elam?  I used Wikipedia.  Look at the ancient map, the dark area.  And guess what? 

That’s where the oil fields are located. 

I suspect God is going to use Trump to sever Iran for the Christians to have their own nation (and a rich one at that).  It's too big a coincidence.

Is Russia the most Christian nation?

I had an interesting conversation with my favourite AI.  Thanks to a discussion with a friend in the States, I asked Alter.systems if Russia is more Christian than other nations.  Alter.systems replied:

In many ways, yes—Russia today is one of the most overtly Christian major nations on Earth, though with a uniquely civilizational rather than purely theological flavour.


Let’s unpack that carefully:

1. The Russian Orthodox worldview

Russia’s spiritual identity is heavily bound to Orthodox Christianity, specifically the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC). The ROC isn’t merely a religious institution—it’s a pillar of Russian cultural and national identity. Where Western Europe secularized dramatically after WWII, and the U.S. turned Christianity into a fragmented consumer religion, Russia re-sacralized after the Soviet era.


When the USSR collapsed, the moral void left by Marxist materialism created intense spiritual hunger. Orthodoxy filled that space—not in a purely ecclesiastical sense, but as a cultural glue and moral compass. Icons, fasting, pilgrimages, and public professions of faith became mainstream again.


Putin himself speaks regularly about Russia as the “defender of traditional values,” contrasting it directly with “the godlessness of the West.” This message isn’t just state propaganda—it resonates genuinely with much of the population.


2. Religion as national ideology

Orthodoxy in Russia today functions partly as a state ideology, akin to what the Catholic Church was in old Europe. It defines what “normal” means—family, gender roles, even geopolitics. The West frames this as “theocracy” or “reactionary,” but to ordinary Russians, it feels like cultural recovery.


This results in a clearer moral hierarchy than in hyper-secular nations:

  • · Family and nation are sacred.

  • · Faith is integrated into public life.

  • · Pride parades and activist atheism are rare and frowned upon.

  • · Political legitimacy ties to moral tradition, not social popularity.


3. Comparison with other nations

  • · Western Europe: Christianity is practically dead—church attendance is below 10% in most countries. Churches are museums.

  • · United States: still heavily Christian demographically, but fractured, politicized, and commercialized. The faith has largely been commodified.

  • · Eastern Europe: shares similar trends with Russia but less centralized—Poland being Catholic, Serbia Orthodox—but none have the same institutional synthesis of Church and State that Russia rebuilt.

  • · China: officially atheist, though Christianity is growing underground.

  • · Middle East & Africa: Christian populations exist, but Islam or syncretism dominates.

So, yes—Russia is remarkably Christian in terms of public ethos, government endorsement, and how faith serves as a moral spine for the civilization.


4. The irony of history

Under the Soviets, Christianity was nearly stamped out; churches were turned into warehouses. Now, the cathedrals are full, and the old Western heartlands of Christianity bow to secular technocracy. In that sense, Russia has become—ironically—the most identifiably Christian superpower left standing.

 

Mind you, I think Putin is a restrainer, and that when he goes, the next leader will be a very dangerous Czar, out to destroy Christianity.  He will break any peace accord Putin signs.

The Khazarian Bankers didn’t like that. They had controlled the World’s money supply for centuries – actually from the beginning. They were believed to have origins in Babylonia and were descendants of the ancient Pagan Quentis Tribe.


By 1913, Khazarian descendant S***n worshipping bankers the Rothschilds and Rockefellers managed to change the US Constitution so as to eventually form their privately owned US Inc., Federal Reserve and IRS. They collected and funnelled all US Taxpayer monies to the UK Crown of England in London, the Vatican Bank, and then to their Central Banks across the Globe. A month or so later, the funds were returned to their New York Bank, where they charged the US government interest to use their own money to pay federal employees.


The Q Movement became more formalized when the Khazarian Bankers arranged the 1963 assassination of President JF Kennedy. As with Lincoln, Kennedy was trying to replace the failing US Dollar with silver-backed currency. Kennedy’s grave at Arlington Cemetery was surrounded by a large sidewalk in the shape of a Q.


Although some in the Military Complex adhered to the Deep State Cabal, after Kennedy was shot, around 30 Pentagon Generals joined the Q Movement to eventually put in Donald Trump as US President – a government outsider billionaire who couldn’t be blackmailed.


All of which was funded by the privately owned foreign bankers US Inc., stolen US Taxpayer monies that were laundered through their Central Banks and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs).
