President Joe Biden’s mental fitness and age have been a massive concern during his first term as president.

At 81 years old, he’s constantly making gaffe after gaffe as well as displaying a very poor memory. That’s not to mention that he’s had several embarrassing falls during his time as president.

There’s plenty of people in the world who are in their 80s and are as sharp as a tack. But Biden is not one of them.

And one Democrat celebrity/comedian just admitted this.

 

While performing at the Netflix is a Joke festival, Jon Stewart came out and said that Joe Biden is “so f*cking old.”

“I know liberals say, ‘Don’t say Joe Biden is old’ – don’t say what people see with their own eyes! You can say it, he can’t hear us,” Stewart stated.

“I know you know how f*cking old he is, and I know you don’t want to say it because Trump is so scary, but he’s so f*cking old. When you watch him on television, you’re nervous, aren’t ya?”

 

Stewart then said what a lot of Americans are currently thinking, which is that Biden “shouldn’t be president.”

“I’m not saying that Biden can’t contribute to society, he just shouldn’t be president,” the comedian said.

He then decided to lump former President Donald Trump into this discussion because of Trump’s old age as well.

“Why are we allowing this? And now we’re going to have a president that’s the two oldest people that have ever run for the office of the presidency,” Stewart continued.

 

In February, Stewart was hit with criticism for bringing up Biden’s poor memory and age while hosting an episode of The Daily Show.

“This guy couldn’t remember stuff during his deposition. Do you understand what that means? He had no ability to recall very basic things under questioning. The footage of the president unable to recall simple facts must have been brutal to watch,” he said at the time.

 

Stewart, like many Leftists who are hit with backlash, walked back some of those comments about a month later.

But now it seems like he’s back in the saddle when it comes to pointing out the president’s poor mental fitness.

And who can blame him? With Donald Trump leading Biden in a plethora of polls, it’s clear that voters trust Trump more than they do Biden when it comes to leading the country.

 

Although Trump is about 4 years younger than Biden, the former president looks to have a much stronger mental fitness than the current president. Donald Trump isn’t the one making constant gaffes or forgetting the names of world leaders. He also doesn’t shuffle around a stage awkwardly like Biden has a habit of doing.

So, when even Leftists are able to point this out, then you know it’s trouble for the Joe Biden campaign.

Donald Trump Exonerated after the DNC was Caught in Bed with Biden’s DOJ:

Former President Trump was right all along. He called out the corruption from a mile away.

And now Donald Trump’s been exonerated after the way the DNC was caught colluding with Biden’s DOJ.

Backroom deals are nothing new to politics, but unfortunately they are getting all too common in Washington, D.C. these days. Over the past few years, we’ve seen several congress-members step down after a short stint because they couldn’t put up with the corruption.

 

Donald Trump has been vocal about this corruption, and many believe this is why he is hated with a passion by the political class who don’t want the new status quo of unethical politics to go away.

On his part, Donald Trump has said that he believes behind all the legal attacks being thrown his way is a core desire of the political class to kick him to the curb at all costs. They don’t want him anywhere close to getting the chance for a second term in the White House.

 

He’s even gone so far as to say that the Democrat Party is colluding with the Biden administration on much of the indictment nonsense he’s been forced to deal with. Well the latest news just gave Donald Trump more ammo to support his claims.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) records reveal that Matthew Colangelo, the lead prosecutor in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against former President Donald Trump, received significant financial support from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) back in 2018.

 

Colangelo, who previously served as acting associate attorney general under President Joe Biden and spent two years in the Department of Justice (DOJ), joined Bragg’s team as senior counsel in December 2022. FEC records indicate that he received a total of $12,000 from the DNC in 2018 for “political consulting,” with payments of $6,000 each made on Jan. 31 of that year.

Trump’s ability to discuss Colangelo is restricted by a gag order imposed by Judge Juan Merchan, which prohibits the former president from commenting on prosecutors involved in the case aside from Bragg.


Colangelo’s appointment coincided with Bragg’s ongoing investigation into Trump’s alleged $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to conceal an alleged affair. He presented the prosecution’s opening statements in April, asserting that Trump had falsified business documents related to the payment as part of a broader scheme to “subvert the 2016 election.”

 

Colangelo emphasized it was straightforward election fraud.

Trump consistently frames the case as “election interference,” labeling it a “Biden witch hunt” and the “Biden Case.”


House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan penned a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday regarding Colangelo, seeking documentation and communications from his time at the DOJ. Jordan specifically requested personnel files regarding Colangelo’s hiring, tenure, and departure from the DOJ, as well as any records related to Trump or his organization.

 

“Bragg is engaged in one such politicized prosecution, which is being led in part by Matthew B. Colangelo, a former senior Justice Department official. Accordingly, given the perception that the Justice Department is assisting in Bragg’s politicized prosecution, we write to request information and documents related to Mr. Colangelo’s employment,” Jordan outlined.

 

During his tenure at the New York District Attorney’s office, Colangelo spearheaded the investigation into the Trump Foundation, resulting in its dissolution, and led the inquiry that evolved into Trump’s civil fraud case, as reported by The New York Times.

 

Legal experts, so far, have been critical of Alvin Bragg’s prosecutory approach, saying it lacks evidence that would’ve warranted even bringing the case at all under normal circumstances.

But, of course, these aren’t normal circumstances at all. This is former President Donald Trump who these rogue “justice” officials will do anything to attack and demonize.

 

At the end of the day though, these legal attack plans just seem to be backfiring as Donald Trump is as strong as ever in the polls as he leads incumbent President Joe Biden in the vast majority of national surveys.

Canadians leaving Canada:

More Canadians choosing to live abroad due to affordability crisis.

 

The cost of living is driving many Canadians to live abroad for better work, a new study finds.

Canada is also struggling to retain new citizens, as evidenced by onward migration – people who leave Canada after immigrating here – jumping up by 31% between 2017 and 2019, according to a new study. 

The study, released Monday by the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada, revealed that the primary reason so many newly naturalized Canadians decide to leave the country after “four to seven years of arrival” is an inability to take part in economic opportunities.

 

“Canada’s inflexible and unrealistic pathways towards recognizing foreign degrees … prevent immigrants from finding jobs in their chosen fields and building their careers in their new country,” reads the report.

About half of those who left acquired their citizenship through their Canadian parents, while a third were born in the country. The remaining 15% of Canadians living abroad were born as foreigners and later became naturalized citizens.

Other reasons that Canadian-born citizens cite for living abroad include job and study opportunities, as well as travel. 

The report suggested engaging with expat Canadians abroad has been a low priority for the government.

“Today, two features define the relationship between the Canadian government and the diaspora. The first is a lack of direction,” reads the report. 

 

“The Canadian government does not have an official strategy towards the growing number of its citizens residing abroad or the types of services they may need. Likewise, the diaspora question receives virtually no attention from the Canadian House of Commons or Senate committees, except in ad hoc cases.” 

The majority of Canadians living abroad reside in the United States, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. 

The McGill study found that the amount of Canadians living abroad was five times higher than that of the U.S. and roughly equal to that of the U.K. 

 

A recurring theme in the study is how little media attention that the Canadian diaspora receives, and when it does, it’s often negative. 

“When they are mentioned, the discourse tends to lean towards two extremes. The diaspora is often portrayed negatively when in need of emergency consular services,” reads the report, referring to the crisis in Gaza, as well as the turmoil in Libya and Egypt in 2011.

“On the other side of the spectrum are famous Canadians, including entertainers, athletes, or business leaders, who are perceived as promoting Canada abroad. In these cases, individuals within the diaspora are considered to be indispensable assets in creating a positive image for the country,” it continues.

 

According to the report’s findings, Canada lags behind other nations in providing the necessary support for those living abroad, who currently cannot vote in provincial elections or access healthcare, despite paying taxes. 

“We still know very little about key things such as their motivations for moving abroad, their perceptions of Canada, and plans for returning home,” reads the report. 

“Better policies often start from better data, which is why more research is needed in this neglected, yet highly significant, area.”

 

A separate study from Statistics Canada estimates that roughly 4 million Canadian citizens were living abroad in 2016, which would amount to around 11% of the population or one Canadian citizen out of nine.  

The study found that the average age of Canadians living abroad is 46.2, which is a little higher than the national average. 

 

The largest cohort of those living abroad are between 45 and 54 years old.

Town of Woodstock will no longer fly Pride banners on downtown lampposts:

New directive by mayor and council only allows banners promoting tourism and heritage.

For many years, Pride flags have been among the banners flown on lampposts in downtown Woodstock.

But going forward, a change in the town's rules means they will no longer be allowed. 

"We're disappointed that that's the position the town has taken," said Amanda Lightbody, founder and president of The Rainbow Crosswalk, a non-profit Pride organization supporting the Woodstock region.

 

Last October, her group appeared before town council to thank them for the Pride banners over the years, after Lightbody said she learned the banner policy was being reviewed. Then on Nov. 14, the town passed a motion saying any banners put up by the town can be for "tourism and heritage promotion only."

Lightbody said her group was not notified and reached out in January to follow up. 

"We discovered, looking through the minutes, that they already had proclaimed it in November, but nothing was ever said to us," she said.

Scott MacCallum, vice-president of the The Rainbow Crosswalk, sent a letter to council asking if the Pride banners could be given an exemption to the new policy.

Council did not respond to the letter until its meeting on March 26, when Mayor Trina Jones read council's response to MacCallum, which was posted to YouTube.

Jones said the policy was created so the town could better handle "a multitude" of requests that had been coming in for special banners. 

"The policy was developed in an effort to ensure requests are reviewed and treated equitably by the town and to provide a clear and transparent framework to ensure fairness," the letter says.

"While the request set out in the letter does not fall within an exemption to the policy, on behalf of council I wish to reiterate that the Town of Woodstock is for everyone, welcomes everyone and celebrates diversity."

 

Similar changes elsewhere

Lightbody said she was surprised, but council's directive is similar to a change she's seen across Canada.

"There's this movement to say, 'We include everybody, so we're going to not recognize anybody,'" Lightbody said.

"And that's a dog whistle for people who are a little bit bigoted."

CBC News requested an interview with Jones, but was told by clerk Laura Gaddas that she was unavailable.

 

In an emailed statement, Jones said that she has not heard any negative feedback from The Rainbow Crosswalk or any other citizens following council's response to the request for an exemption, so she cannot speak to their concerns.

Jones said she would not offer any more comment at this time. 

When asked to put a number figure on the multitude of requests the town said it has received for other banners, Gaddas did not respond.

 

Parent disappointed by decision

Ebony Scott has lived in Woodstock her whole life and describes herself as an ally of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

"Ultimately, I'm really disappointed," she said.

Scott said she and her husband "try really, really hard to teach our children that there are people all around us who lead very different lives than we do, and that is what makes life so beautiful."

 

"It feels like it was not that long ago that they brought out the Pride flags and were openly welcoming to that group."

Scott said she understands the town can't have banners for everything, but Pride flags were an important way to show support for a marginalized community.

"It's just like a little nod of recognition that may not have been there before," she said.

"I have a lot of hope for our community going forward, but I think we have a little ways to go."

The Pride banners are not the first time New Brunswick has seen pushback over 2SLGBTQ+ support.

In 2018, a Chipman man had a straight pride flag flown at town hall for a day after a Pride flag had flown.

Last summer, during a "1 Million March 4 Children" event in Saint John, a Pride flag was ripped away from counter-protesters.

 

It has even happened in Woodstock before, when a rainbow crosswalk was vandalized in 2017.

Lightbody said it was Woodstock's previous mayor, Arthur Slipp, who had the Pride banners put up as a response to the crosswalk vandalism. 

She said seeing Pride flags downtown or in a business is a small step to show that everyone is welcome.

"That's what we're trying to promote around here. And when you don't see them, when you don't see yourself represented, you hide."

Lightbody said there are lots of allies around Woodstock, but added that it's challenging when the province's Education Minister, Bill Hogan, whose riding includes Woodstock, is in favour of Policy 713, revised to require parental consent before teachers can use a chosen pronoun requested by a child under 16.


Lightbody said one positive aspect of it all is that the council did give her group several of the Pride banners back so they could be used elsewhere.

 

She said her group is working on getting them hung up in other towns across western New Brunswick and is planning ways to support pride events in town this spring and summer.

"We are going to attempt to paint the western valley as rainbow as we can."

INTERVIEW:

This morning, far from home with my wife, daughter and her friend on a vacation with them after their school year, I listened to Tucker Carlson interviewing Alexsandr Dugin during his visit to Moscow for the interview with Putin. It appears that Tucker held back posting his interview with Dugin until now. In any case, the interview is under 30 minutes and it is perhaps the best short explanation by a non-Western Russian thinker and writer of how the collective West driven by Anglo-Americans hollowed out and wrecked their world.

 

I will urge you to please make the time and listen to Dugin. It is a truism that it takes another to see the snot in one's nose, or for the boy in the crowd to see the emperor naked. Dugin, like his far more illustrious predecessor Alexsandr Solzhenitsyn, is a Russian patriot who has thought a great deal about his country's history, culture and tradition, ands genuinely values them despite whatever might be their comparative shortcoming relative to what was once, it needs to be said in the past tense, the greatness of the modern West envied or sought after by the rest of the world. Apart from the blinkered citizens of the West today, few thinking people outside the West hold the West in any admiration of the sort that not too long ago was common.


I recall reading John Kenneth Galbraith's bestseller from the late 1950s, The Affluent Society, more than four decades ago as part of my required readings to understand what set the United States apart from the rest. Galbraith followed this economic and cultural exposition of the U.S. more than thirty years later with The Culture of Contentment as the Cold War ended and the U.S. ruling class/elite driven by the neocons pushed the policy of unipolar hegemony which has brought the world to the brink of nuclear armageddon.

 

I mention Galbraith's two books as bookends of what went wrong with America, hence the collective West under American tutelage, from the perspective of one of America's leading intellectuals who began his career in government during the FDR years, was part of the Camelot era during the short-lived presidency of JFK, and remained until the end of his life one of the more prominent exponents of American liberalism as a Democrat.


The American ruling class took for granted America's dominance post-1945 in world affairs and its own privilege as unassailable; this attitude underscored the thinking that America was granted by its Creator as in perpetuity to wage wars - wars domestically against poverty, drugs, crimes and abroad against enemies of freedom and democracy as defined and broadcast by America's ruling elite.

 

The American people saw themselves protected geographically by two oceans from enemies abroad and at home were seduced and sedated by a theology of progressivism to be the "exceptional" people, and the collapse of the Soviet Union was seen as the confirmation of their own exceptional virtues that gave them the rights and privilege to rule the rest of the world. A contented people are given to self-congratulations and self-promotion, and the culture of contentment as Galbraith discussed makes little allowance for critical evaluation of what is taken more or less for granted. It is such a culture that celebrates itself without irony when contentment begins to breed self-indulgence by rewarding the pathologically demented individuals in politics, business, arts, the media, academia, religion, and by punishing those who dissent.


Galbraith was a Harvard economist, a prolific writer, an intellectual gifted with wit, a Scot born in southern Ontario who migrated to America in his youth and became a celebrity, and he belonged to that generation of Americans who came of age between the two world wars and the great depression and who despite their claims to being "the best and the brightest" were still patriots, hardened by their sacrifices in real time in turning America into the "arsenal of democracy" in FDR's slogan and in battles fought across two oceans so as to boast, as Reagan did, that America is "the shining city upon a hill." The rest of the world saw this history unfold, also in real time, and genuinely impressed accorded America respect that was deserving.

 

But Galbraith's generation like sand in the hourglass got emptied, and those who have come after them to rule have lacked the wit and the grit to turn the hourglass right side up for the American saga to continue as Reagan wished in his farewell address. America the bully during the Cold War dressed itself up in style and pageantry sold by Hollywood to the rest of the world, as once the British did in the Victorian age, and going back further the Romans did in the Augustan age. But the culture of contentment doomed America to mediocrity and worse, as occurred with Britain and Rome.


This is what we are witnessing presently, the undressing of the bully and the display of its uncouthness, its mediocrity, its mendacity. The rest of the world sees the undressed reality of America and the collective West that still remains opaque to the people in the West who still wish to believe the age of contentment for them will endure indefinitely. The people in the West have been propagandized into servility and serfdom.


Their fate, unlike that of Galbraith's generation, is less in their ability to re-generate than in the ability of those whom they have mocked for so long that they cannot fathom how history not ending has flipped and those mocked - the Chinese, the Russians, the Iranians, the Indians, etc. of the Global South - loom on their horizon in numbers and in their rebirth as cultures and civilizations that once were seats of learning and wealth.

A new Canadian Armed Forces logo?

The Canadian Armed Forces has clarified that its official emblem remains unchanged, following widespread confusion and public outcry over a recently introduced icon that sparked ridicule online.

 

According to a spokesperson for the Department of National Defence, the new design launched and announced on X on Friday morning is not a replacement but a supplementary icon meant to promote a new camouflage pattern.

“The icon launched today is a supplementary design that will be used in the bottom left corner of certain communications products and in animations for videos,” said the spokesperson.

Nobody seemed to agree on what the abstract icon was until the Canadian Armed Forces replied in an exclusive email to True North.

The icon comes in addition to the army’s official logo, and is intended to coincide with the recent launch of the Canadian Disruptive Pattern Multi-Terrain.

 

“The icon is intended to highlight the colours used in that pattern. In particular, the icon resembles the pixels, in shades of brown, topped by a small maple leaf and was extracted from this pattern. The icon was developed without additional funds or involvement of external companies. It was developed by (the Department of National Defence’s) internal graphic design team, and this icon comes at zero expense to the taxpayer,” said the spokesperson. 

The Canadian Army released a “revitalized branding” of its logo to X on Friday morning that left many people scratching their heads.

 

The post was quickly ratioed, having more than triple the comments as it had likes on Friday.

Many of the post’s replies were from users on X trying to guess what the logo might be or noting their disbelief at the new design.

“I honestly don’t know what that is. And my son loves Minecraft,” said freelance journalist Andy Lee.
