Something had to be done about those making a difference for the Lord, and for Peter, that meant jail. The Roman Empire was losing its grip, not so much on nations they had conquered or the vast wealth and power they had accumulated, but on the hearts and minds of men. When the message of Jesus Christ came to Rome, it didn’t shake the pillars of the senate or crack the foundation of the Colosseum. The gospel shook the foundations of what people believed. Jesus set men free
Rome offered civility to some degree; it provided protection, in part. The empire could even grant regulated freedom. But unfettered liberty? No. Then, there was Jesus, who delivered mankind from every evil empire. Jesus Christ is greater and more powerful than any earthly kingdom or dominion. He alone unchains us from the grip of this world and offers new life and the freedom only His kingdom can bring. Imagine Peter’s initial confusion—in jail one minute, and the next, standing outside and free. Now, hear his certainty when he realized the weakness of the Roman Empire in comparison to the kingdom of God. “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me… ” Dear believer, as you go about your way, keep in mind that trouble, trial, and persecution may come. It’s guaranteed if you desire to make a difference in this world. But remember, the Lord has delivered you. Now walk in the certainty that freedom brings!

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about the 2023 Zenith of the “WE,” so today I’ll give you a recap.
The 3,000-year pendulum of Western Civilization* is energized by two good things that oppose each other:
Every 40-year “ME” cycle is driven by the hunger for individuality and freedom of expression.
Every 40-year “WE” cycle is driven by working together for the common good.
We begin each of these cycles with the best of intentions; but then we take that good thing too far – all the way to the zenith at one end of the pendulum’s arc – and then we begin to mourn what we left behind.
20 years up to the zenith, 20 years back down; then we begin our 20-year journey up to the opposite zenith; then 20 years back down to complete the 80-year roundtrip.
There are two reasons why so few people say, “Hey, I remember this!”
1. We don’t notice the truly important when we are distracted by the merely urgent.
2. The pendulum is in the same position – headed in the same direction – just once every 80 years. How often do you listen to a 90-year-old when they say, “Back when I was 10 years old…”
The 40-year “ME” cycle that began in 1963 was built on individuality and freedom of expression. That “ME” zenithed in 1983, then it slowly deflated until 2003. That’s when we began our current “WE” cycle. And like every “WE,” it began with the beautiful dream of working together for the common good.
As we reach the zenith of that “WE” – 2023 – we see the consequences of taking “working together for the common good” a little too far.
Okay, a lot too far.
Every zenith of a “WE” cycle is a time of intense opposition and strong beliefs. We feel that anyone who believes differently from us is stupid and evil and must be stopped at any cost.
1783 – The Revolutionary War ended on Sept. 3 with the Treaty of Paris. We spent the next 5 chaotic years writing and adopting – state by state – the Constitution.
1863 – The middle year of the U.S. Civil War. Lincoln was assassinated 2 years later. Chaos again.
1943 – The middle year of America’s involvement in WW II. Two years later we nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
2023 – (We shall see what we shall see.)
Religiosity is often intense at the Zenith of a “WE” cycle.
Disagreements often result from a lack of definitions of terms. For the purposes of this discussion, these will be the definitions of Faith, Religion, and Religiosity:
Faith is that in which you place your greatest confidence. (Science? Politics? Deity?)
Religion is the formalizing of a code of orthodoxy around your Faith.
Religiosity is weaponized religion.
Every reader takes from a text what he brings to it.

Every person deserves to be remembered for their finest moment. From what I know of Ernest Hemingway, I believe his finest moment may have been when he said:
“When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen.”
We want everyone to know what we think, but we don’t really care to know what they think.
I believe our resistance to considering the perspectives of others is rooted in our need for identity reinforcement. I believe this is the driving force behind political parties, religious organizations, and affinity groups.
Look back and you’ll see that things have been getting increasingly nutty since about 2013. For the past 3,000 years of Western Civilization,* the ugliest 20 years in the 80-year roundtrip are the 10 years before – and the 10 years after – the zenith of a “WE.”
2023 is that zenith, the moment when the Pendulum reaches its full ascent and begins to decline. The problem is that it will take us 10 years to get back to the low-level nuttiness we endured in 2013.
The good news is that we are at the halfway point. Things will begin to slowly get better soon.

Elon Musk Destroys and Mocks the Lying Media:
CBS News ceased broadcasting news on Twitter due to “uncertainty” about the social media company’s new CEO, Elon Musk. However, the news network was unable to wait the entire 48 hours before rejoining Twitter.
CBS News has returned to Twitter after a brief hiatus.
CBS News’ official Twitter account stopped publishing at about 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
“In light of the uncertainties surrounding Twitter, and out of an excess of caution, CBS News has paused activity on Twitter,” CBS News stated in a statement on Friday.
However, CBS News did not wait two days before reconnecting to Twitter and posting on Sunday – only hours after Musk reactivated former President Donald Trump’s Twitter account.
“After halting for the majority of the weekend to evaluate security concerns, CBS News and affiliates is restarting its activity on Twitter as we continue to watch the situation,” CBS News tweeted at 9:36 a.m. on Sunday.
Musk responded with a laughing hand over the face emoji.
“They should invite Walter Cronkite back,” Musk suggested to CBS News.
On Twitter, CBS News was mocked.
Others made fun of CBS News for going back to Twitter.
“Clowns,” says BlazeTV presenter Jason Whitlock.
“CBS attempted to rage-quit Twitter seeking attention, but now have predictably crawled back,” says podcast presenter Lauren Chen.
“Please keep all of us updated on the very genuine crisis you are undoubtedly closely tracking,” writes journalist Michael Tracey.
“We virtue-signaled too hastily and are now quickly backtracking, while we’re trying hard to refrain from taking any accountability for the repercussions of our folly,” says clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson.

Glenn Greenwald, an independent journalist: “CBS News has concluded that Twitter is safe to use again – but only for the time being! They are still assessing security issues and monitoring the situation. If there are additional breakouts of free speech or hearings from individuals media despise, they may withdraw once more.”
Elon Musk accuses the New York Times of “far-left indoctrination.”
On Sunday, Musk mocked more than one traditional media outlet.
Matt Taibbi, an author, and independent journalist tweeted a link to his Substack story titled “No, NY Times, You Do not even ‘Deserve Better’ Than Trump.”
Taibbi criticized the NY Times editorial board for writing an article declaring that “America deserves much better than Donald Trump” in response to Trump’s announcement of his presidential bid in 2024.
“The New York Daily News argues America does not really ‘deserve’ Donald Trump, however the Times certainly does, especially since earning a Prize for a narrative mishandled across years,” Taibbi wrote on Twitter.

“I really do not think he’s a psychopath because he has been successful in numerous ventures over extended periods of time, and he has a diverse group of individuals who are very loyal to him,” Peterson continued.
“It’s really easy to malign someone you do not really agree with,” he went on. “And, without a doubt, Trump has been exposed to greater demonization than any other Western political leader in my experience, including Richard Nixon. As a result, he’s been pushed back and has become somewhat besieged and defensive, which I do not however believe has helped his personality in any way.”
“Do you want [Trump] to run again? Do you believe that would be beneficial to America?” Morgan inquired.

Christmas in China, Brazil and Iran:
How long will mainstream media ignore massive protests in China, Brazil, Iran, and Holland against political oppression and state-sponsored election interference in the United States?
If millions of pro-democracy protesters in China call for the end of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) but is largely ignored by the U.S. leadership, has an injustice really occurred?
What about the millions of Brazilians marching in the streets against election results that saw a far-left politician somehow “win” against the popular incumbent? Where is that news coverage?
And why aren’t the nationwide protests in Iran on every newscast? Where’s the outrage at over 300 deaths?

How many of us realize that mainstream news organizations have been deceiving the American people about everything from vaccines to the corruption of the Biden administration?
Do such major events even matter anymore?
Apparently not. In our 24-hour news cycle, out of sight, out of mind seems to be a primary operating principle. Using Big Tech and intelligence agencies to do so is another one.
The level of control that one party with one point of view has over American society, from school to media, is almost comprehensive. That’s not an exaggeration or hyperbole. That includes legacy and digital news agencies and entertainment media outlets. “Wokeism,” fear, and pandemic obedience are driven into the American mind daily. It’s difficult to tell the difference between the left-wing social messaging in a CNN newscast and a “woke” Disney movie.
This deep and broad penetration has resulted in effectively shaping how Americans think. It’s enabled Big Tech and federal agencies to practice deception on a massive scale in the United States.

Christless Christmas in Paris, Washington and Moscow:
Paris saw riots in the streets instead of celebrations.
Washington saw the President speak of love in every faith, but he can't say the name "Jesus".
