On its official website, the European Union announced, “The European Central Bank (ECB) has issued five calls for applications to establish framework agreements with potential providers of digital euro components and related services.”
However, the European Union tempered expectations, adding, “At this stage, the ECB is not making a commitment to launch any of the development work listed in the calls for applications.”
According to its website, the five areas of focus in terms of developing a digital Euro involve a mechanism to accurately track digital Euros, so-called fraud prevention technology, app and technology support infrastructures, offline service components, and the establishment of a secure and reliable exchange.
This major step towards a digital Euro comes in the wake of world governments everywhere pushing towards digital currencies.
Critics of digital currencies warn that these intangible forms of money allow central governments, among others, to track how their respective currencies are spent, who holds them, and more.
In essence, digital currencies eliminate any sense of privacy that other forms of currency currently provide.
Additionally, many experts warn that digital currencies could succumb to cyber-attacks, which have increasingly plagued world governments in recent years.
Unsurprisingly, Janet Yellen and other members of the Joe Biden administration have expressed their desires for a digital dollar, which they would like to roll out as soon as possible.

The latest revelation? Off-the-record trips where handpicked corporate media editors and reporters are schooled on “what they’re getting wrong,” according to Semafor, with the campaign presenting “coverage spreadsheets” detailing their perceived journalistic inadequacies.
Outlets like the Washington Post and the New York Times, once bastions of journalistic independence, stand accused of being complicit in this backroom deal.
These “substantive” and “productive” meetings, as a source described them, paint a bleak picture of where journalism has reached: kowtowing to political cronies in exchange for access, objectivity sacrificed at the altar of campaign talking points.
The Biden team’s agenda is clear: silence the drumbeat of legal troubles shadowing the former president, Trump, and amplify his campaign trail pronouncements, regardless of their merit.

If it were up to President Joe Biden, he would be surrounded by “yes” men at all times.
Fortunately for him, that’s pretty much what is happening, as the president cannot stand to hear anything critical about him, his family, or his campaign.
If he does hear negative words about those things, whether it be from staff or reporters, Biden has been known to lose his temper.
According to Axios, aides in the White House are too afraid to tell Biden that he could lose to Donald Trump in November, because they are worried Biden might angrily lash out at them.
“[P]eople close to the White House fear there aren’t enough people willing to give Biden bad news – because those who do can get their heads bitten off, as Axios’ Alex Thompson has reported,” Axios wrote.
The president’s history with anger issues has been well documented over the years.
According to the Republican National Committee, Biden has used anger as a response to questions about the controversy involving business dealings in his family.
Conservative commentator, Tucker Carlson explains that Biden’s anger is a symptom of senility among elderly men.
“Uncontrollable flashes of anger are common among people who are aging, particularly among men, and they often accompany senility,” Carlson said.
“Losing it is a very frustrating experience and your heart goes out to anyone who is.”
During a campaign event in 2020, Biden once told a voter to “Get your words straight, Jack!”
“No one has said my son has done anything wrong and I did not on any occasion. You’re a d*mn liar, man!”
And again in 2020, Biden lashed out at a reporter who was asking him about his mental health, saying, “C’mon man. That’s like you saying before you got on this program you take a test where you’re taking cocaine or not? What do you think? Huh?” “Are you a junky?” he added.
If his own staff in the White House are afraid to simply relay bad news about the 2024 campaign or his administration in general, how does Joe Biden expect to make any adjustments to help his reelection cause.
It looks like his own anger could be a reason why he may lose the chance at being a two-term president.

Fulton County DA Fani Willis has received a legal order, known as a subpoena, to provide testimony in the divorce case of her colleague. This development suggests that investigators have grounds to suspect that she may have compromised her own prosecution of former President Donald Trump due to allegations of an inappropriate romantic involvement.
DA Willis was informed by a process server who visited her office in Georgia that she is required to participate in the divorce proceedings of Nathan Wade, a lawyer whom she had previously engaged as a special prosecutor in the case against Trump, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. The subpoena, requested by Joycelyn Wade, the wife of Wade, was delivered to Willis’s executive assistant.
A representative from Willis declined to provide a statement but assured him that a response to the subpoena would be provided in the near future. However, as of Wednesday morning, no answer has been made public.
Interrogations on DA Willis’s romantic affairs arose when a co-defendant of Trump submitted a motion to remove her office from the proceedings, claiming an “improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case.” Mike Roman, a former Trump campaign official, is among the individuals who have been accused, along with President Trump and 16 other individuals, of engaging in efforts to undermine the outcome of Georgia’s 2020 election.

Fox News Surrenders to Trump!
Unless an extraordinary political event occurs, it is highly likely that Donald Trump will secure the Republican presidential nomination. The Fox News town hall on Wednesday night featuring Trump did not weaken that notion in any way.
The former president exuded a kind of ease and self-assurance that made him look extremely electable. However, the noteworthy aspect of the situation was that although broadcasters Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum did question the former president on a few matters, the overall atmosphere of the event was surprisingly friendly for a town hall including two journalists and the most talked about political figure of our day.
It resembled the formal appointment of a forthcoming leader and, even more astonishingly, a capitulation by Fox News to, according to the most recent polls, the man who may very well be president again. Indeed, it was a surrender by Fox to Trump.
This was a significant occasion for the industry. Fox News is the leading cable news network, attracting a larger audience than the combined viewership of CNN and MSNBC.
The programming is highly influential and consistently supports the Trump administration. Prior to this, it seemed that a deliberate endeavor had been undertaken to shift focus away from Trump and endorse other Republican candidates, such as Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley.
It was like whoever is in control of Fox were doing their best to kill Trump’s chances at winning a second term.
Both individuals were unable to undermine Trump’s control over the Republican Party. Fox News provided a warm and welcoming reception for the 45th president on Wednesday night.
Mainstream media took note of what happened during the town hall. The Associated Press reported:
“As Donald Trump’s two main Republican rivals slugged it out Wednesday on an Iowa debate stage, the former president appeared across town on a Fox News Channel town hall in a counterprogramming move where few discouraging words were heard.”
Trump walked onstage to cheers and chants of “USA,” stayed at the end to sign autographs and heard one audience member blurt out “love you” after he took her question.
The AP article went on, “When asked about his previous statements that a second term as president would be about retribution for his enemies, Trump said he wouldn’t have time for it.”
“The ultimate retribution,” he said, “is success.”
It was Trump’s first live appearance on Fox News since 2022, and how the network handled it was closely watched. It came less than a year after Fox agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787 million to settle a lawsuit related to lies told in the aftermath of the 2020 election.
Fox instituted a soft ban against Trump in the opening days of the Biden administration, and the former president has complained about some of its personalities being insufficiently loyal to him.
Baier and MacCallum respectfully questioned Trump on various topics, including political violence and the suspected violation of emoluments by accepting substantial sums of money from foreign governments during their presidency. They didn’t hit him hard.

The town hall occurred shortly after Trump expressed his desire, during an interview with Lou Dobbs, for the economy to experience a significant downturn within the next 12 months, as he wished to avoid a situation similar to that of President Herbert Hoover.
Baier raised this issue, but didn’t push it: “You’re not saying you’re hoping for a crash? Just to be clear,” he asked Trump.
Conducting an interview with Trump that he doesn’t subsequently express dissatisfaction with is challenging. “The Town Hall last night received wonderful reviews. Thank you to Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum for doing a really professional job,” Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Leadership at Fox News apparently knows when they’ve been beat. They utterly failed in their drive to have a different Republican nominee for president. So, they surrendered. Probably because they don’t want to lose their shirts as they would by continuing to go against the man who very well may be president again.
Trump shared with his followers who are expressing their strong support for ex-First Lady Melania Trump, who recently experienced the loss of her mother during the late hours of Tuesday.
Trump uploaded a photograph on Facebook, with himself standing next to Amalija Knavs, who recently passed away at the age of 78 following a prolonged and unknown health struggle.
“This is a very sad night for the entire Trump family!!!” Trump mournfully posted. “Melania’s great and beautiful mother, Amalija, has just gone to a beautiful place in the sky. She was an incredible woman and will be missed far beyond words!”
