FRIDAY 1-19-24

Friday BLOG   1 – 19 - 24

Verse(s) for today:

So, in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 7:12 NIV

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

2 Corinthians 9:6 KJV

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

Philippians 2:14-16 NIV

TRANSGENDER EXPOSED:

Trans, Inc: genital mutilation is not just a fad. It’s a full-blown industry. How did something this demented happen so quickly? Chris Moritz has been following the money.

Since his firing from Fox News, former primetime host Tucker Carlson has taken his show on the digital road — to X, where he has interviewed public figures such as former President Donald Trump and independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“Genital mutilation is not just a fad. It’s a full-blown industry,” read the caption on Carlson’s X post sharing the episode. The 48-minute video criticized aspects of transgender health care, such as hormones, surgery and social affirmation. It describes “transgenderism” as “unnatural” and “demented,” comparing it with “human sacrifice.”

Ted Cruz gave Donald Trump the biggest shock of his life:

The 2024 race is shaping up to be a wild one. And it just got a major shakeup.

Because Ted Cruz gave Donald Trump the biggest shock of his life.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz backed Donald Trump for President Tuesday night, urging the country to rally behind the Republican front-runner.

“I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States,” Cruz stated on Hannity.

“I look forward to supporting him enthusiastically.”

Cruz, who competed vigorously against Trump in the 2016 presidential primaries, claimed that the Iowa caucuses revealed that there is only one viable Republican contender.

“[Iowa] was a dominating victory for Donald Trump: I’ve got to say, there’s no place like the Iowa caucuses. I know it intimately. The men and women of Iowa, they take their responsibility incredibly seriously. They scrutinize the candidates,” Cruz said.

“It’s an amazing process, and I’m a big believer in letting democracy play out. Well, last night it played out, and I got to say Trump’s victory was across the board… Congratulations to President Trump on that dominating victory,” Cruz said.

“And at this point, I believe this race is over.”

Trump received 51% of the vote in the Iowa caucuses on Monday, claiming a 30-point victory over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who finished ahead of Nikki Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and two-term South Carolina governor.

The Texas senator stated that Trump’s overwhelming victory in the Iowa caucuses demonstrated that the former president’s candidacy is “compelling.”

“I’m a big believer we need to let the process play out: It did. And the results last night: 51% [of the vote, which included] 98 counties – that’s compelling. And at this point, I think the contrast needs to be on substance and policy and records [versus Biden],” Cruz said.

Cruz remarked that he is a major senatorial election target for Democrats as he seeks a third term in November.

“I wear that as a badge of honor,” he said, referring to Democrats’ continued ire and attention as his re-election campaign approaches.

“If you are a left-wing Democrat, after Donald Trump, there’s nobody in the country you want to beat more than me. And Chuck Schumer has made clear I am his number one target in the country,” Cruz continued.

“The Democrats are going to spend $100 million this year trying to beat me and trying to flip Texas blue. Now, that ain’t going to happen.”

Trump also picked up an endorsement from Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., another former 2016 primary competitor, on Sunday.

It looks like the Republican Party is starting to coalesce around Trump.

US Golden Handcuffs on Israel:

Join me as I do a deep dive into understanding the painful reality of US aid to Israel that hardly gets talked about.

The US gives out aid packages to countries all over the world, Israel included. That aid comes with many, many strings, aka conditions, attached. Unfortunately, those conditions hold back Israel from being able to protect itself like a sovereign country should.

With it all, I think we should be grateful for any assistance we get from anybody, especially from the US, but it must be restructured based on the reality of the US-Israel relationship, so that we break the golden handcuffs.

REBEL BUZZ | UFC champion tears into Trudeau's treatment of the truckers and Canadian media:

Sean Strickland was not shy about sharing his opinion on a number of contentious issues ahead of a UFC event in Toronto this weekend.

The UFC middleweight champion threw some punches at Canada's government and media today, criticizing both for their actions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sean Strickland made headlines after he questioned whether a reporter with The Canadian Press was "a COVID bank stealer," referring to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government freezing bank accounts of supporters of the 2022 Freedom Convoy to Ottawa.

"Were you on board with that?" Strickland asked the reporter. "Are you left wing or right wing? Were you a Trudeau [supporter]?" The UFC champion accused members of the press of being communists, saying that was why "we need to know where this man stands."

After the reporter declined to comment, Strickland quipped the reporter was "going to give (his) bank account to Trudeau." Another reporter, meanwhile, questioned Strickland about his stance on LGBT issues.

"We've got a pretty supported gay and lesbian community in [Toronto], I did want to ask you something you wrote a couple of years ago," asked another reporter, calling back to Strickland's 2021 assertion that if he "had a gay son" he felt he "failed as a man." At the time, Strickland clarified the comment, adding that gay men "are great," and that he "support(s) them and their choices."

Not liking the line of questioning, Strickland said the reporter was "part of the problem."

Strickland, who was wearing a shirt emblazoned with the message "a woman in every kitchen, a gun in every hand," also tore into the Canadian mainstream media's complicity in accepting the freezing of Freedom Convoy supporters' bank accounts.

"You elected Justin Trudeau. When he seized bank accounts, you're just f*ckin' pathetic," he said. "The fact that you have no f*ckin' backbone, and as he shut down your f*ckin' country and seized bank accounts — you ask me some stupid sh*t like that?"

Taking a page from Elon Musk's comment to Disney CEO Bob Iger, Strickland then told the reporter: "Go f*ck yourself."

The fighter also weighed in on the controversy stemming from Bud Light's partnership with biological male/self-identified female Dylan Mulvaney.

"Here's the thing about Bud Light," Strickland began, before continuing:

Ten years ago, to be trans was a mental f*ckin' illness. And now all of a sudden, people like you [the reporter], have weaseled your way in the world. You are an infection, you are the definition of weakness. Everything that is wrong with the world is because of f*ckin' you. And the best thing is, the world's not buying it. The world's not buying your f*ckin' bullsh*t your f*ckin' peddling.

The world is not saying, 'you know what, your right. Chicks have d*cks'. The world's not saying that. The world's saying there are two genders, I don't want my kids being taught about who they can who they can f*ck in school, I don't want my kids being taught about their sexual preference.

This guy is the f*ckin' enemy. You want to look at the enemy to our world, it's that motherf*cker right there, asking these stupid f*cking questions.

Despite the controversy surrounding Mulvaney, the UFC agreed to a new sponsorship deal with the brewer late last year. UFC boss Dana White defended the Anheuser-Busch, which owns Bud Light, describing the company as "patriotic."

Sean Strickland squares off against Dricus du Plessis in the main event of UFC 297, which airs live on pay-per-view on Saturday, January 20 from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

Davos 2024: Global elite gather against WEF's most complex backdrop so far:

NEW YORK, Jan 9 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, French President Emmanuel Macron and key Middle East leaders are slated to attend next week's World Economic Forum, putting talks to end wars in Gaza and Ukraine at the top of the agenda for the global elite.

The 54th annual WEF gathering in the Swiss ski resort of Davos will occur against its most complicated geopolitical backdrop to date, its president Borge Brende said on Tuesday.

A challenging global economic picture, with shifting interest rate policies and rising debt, will also confront the central bankers, financiers and business leaders attending.

A key closed-door session addressing this will be led by the chief executives at British-based bank Barclays (BARC.L), opens new tab and Canadian life insurer Manulife Financial Corp (MFC.TO), opens new tab, according to a copy of the agenda obtained by Reuters.

Brende said much of this year's focus would be high level diplomatic talks on wars in the Middle East, Ukraine and Africa.

"We will make sure that we bring together the right people ... to see how we can solve this very challenging world".

Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan would both attend, organizers said, making them the highest profile members of U.S. President Joe Biden's administration in Davos.

A White House official said Sullivan was expected to make a speech and that Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, would also attend. The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Blinken and Sullivan will join key stakeholders in the conflict in Gaza, including leaders of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates - both countries having emerged as Middle East powerbrokers - and Israel's president Isaac Herzog in Davos.

U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres and more than 40 foreign ministers will also be on site, organizers said.

Macron is expected to make a speech about France's role in the future of Europe, while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also address the forum, organizers said. The Elysee French presidential palace did not immediately comment.

War in Ukraine has dominated the last two WEF meetings and while President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is again expected to make a speech, it was unclear if any Russian officials would attend.

China, a key ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin will be sending Premier Li Qiang, the most senior Chinese official to rub shoulders with global business and political leaders at Davos since President Xi Jinping attended in 2017.

WEF organizers also emphasized the attendance of key leaders from the Global South. The non-aligned group of Asian African and Latin American countries have largely stuck to the sidelines over the Ukraine war, after initially condemning Moscow.

Geopolitical risks have mounted around the globe in recent years, with Russia's war in Ukraine and Israel's war with Hamas militants, and the recent related impact on shipping in the Red Sea. China, meanwhile, has been increasing military pressure to assert sovereignty claims over Taiwan.

"Unfortunately, what the last couple of years has shown us with the pandemic, the war in Ukraine and several other crises around the world is that we were not that resilient," said Bob Sternfels, Global Managing Partner, McKinsey & Company, referring to global cooperation in a briefing ahead of Davos.

"Without resilience, we can have real setbacks."

'COMPLICATED'

A complicated economic backdrop, including central bank policy and increasing debt, would also dominate the agenda, WEF managing director Jeremy Jurgens said.

"We are expecting 2.9% growth this year and at least the global economy is growing, but it could be doing better."

Jurgens said that the two regions that stood out for increased participation this year were Latin America and Asia, reflecting "broader shifts in the global economy".

Argentina's newly-elected President Javier Milei is expected to attend.

A WEF official said 530 banking, insurance, investing and other finance executives are expected at the meeting.

One key event is the Jan. 17 closed-door Financial Services Governors Meeting, which will be attended by more than 100 chairmen and CEOs from banking, markets, insurance and asset management, an agenda obtained by Reuters showed.

Barclays CEO C.S. Venkatakrishnan and Manulife CEO Roy Gori will be co-chairs of the meeting, which will focus on navigating risk against a backdrop of geopolitical tension, macroeconomic uncertainty and technological disruption.

WEF organizers did not comment on the Governors Meeting.

Davos comes as companies face a complex backdrop of mediocre global growth while economies grapple with high interest rates, political risk and the after-effects of the pandemic.

"With matters such as ongoing geopolitical tensions, the urgent need to address climate change, economic concerns and rapid technological advancements influencing policy and boardroom decisions, this summit will be pivotal," Deloitte Global Chair Anna Marks said in emailed comments.

To some, 2024 shows a return to focusing on the long-term.

Karen Harris, Managing Director of the Macro Trends Group at Bain & Company said recent WEF annual meetings were shaped by the pandemic, with 2021's being virtual and 2022's delayed, opens new tab.

"At 2023's Forum we were still feeling the disruptions of all of those events, and discussion was centered on the economic recovery," Harris said in emailed remarks.

"This is the first WEF in years during which our sights can really be on what the next decade will bring, rather than the compressed and volatile business cycle."

#2. Wisemen New Year Update 2024

Dear Family of God and Intercessors:

We trust you had a blessed celebration of the Lord’s Incarnation with your families and church communities.  And we send a heartfelt wish for a blessed and fruitful New Year to you and yours as you walk with and serve our Savior in the coming year.

I had, actually, purposed to begin writing this update around Christmas, but have been struggling with how to process and express coherently the immensity and complexity of what we are experiencing here. The turbulence of war and the pall of mourning over the losses & suffering just keeps growing, sadly, rather than abate since our last update. It is now clear that had not the IDF entered Gaza in a ground invasion, the extent of the vast, sophisticated maze of tunnels - an underground city, the arsenal and headquarters of Hamas - would not have been sufficiently exposed & destroyed. Moreover, if the terrorist system is not eradicated completely, it will rise up like a Phoenix to attack again, as they have in the past! The war has revealed a heartless, cynical use of schools, kindergartens, homes, and children’s bedrooms as weapon stores, even hiding explosives in teddy bears! Human twistedness goes beyond Hamas, however. Evidence shows that teachers employed by UNRWA - the so-called UN relief agency – are tools for Hamas’ propaganda, teaching Gazan children that Israel should be destroyed. Nearby Kibbutz residents who had undergone the horrific attacks were shocked that Gazans they employed gave Hamas detailed info about the Kibbutz layouts.

The nightly TV reports are heartbreaking - over the lives lost & wounded on both sides of the conflict. There are pictures of fathers, brothers, sons, & sisters who are gone, with endless funerals, weeping mothers, fathers and wives. As Israel battles to eradicate such an evil organization, bent on obliterating it (as its charter asserts), many innocent people ruled by this cruel force suffer too! Yet we see a rising tide of world anti-Semitism spurred on by this conflict, which just adds to the sense of Israel’s isolation.

The world has a short historical memory. It has forgotten that less than 80 years ago, thousands of innocent Germans died in the devastation of their cities, necessitated for the Allies to defeat Hitler and eradicate Nazism. Hamas and Hezbollah are proxies of Teheran, which funds & arms most of them to terminate Israel. So, Israel faces a no-choice battle. But Islam’s stated goal is to conquer the world! We know that behind all evil is Satan – a force that secular Jews are blind to, that only God can defeat, and will, when Yeshua returns to defend Israel, judge the world, and rule justly.

As I write, near the war’s 100th day, the IDF has made great headway in destroying the immense, military infrastructure beneath Gaza, in the process of dismantling Hamas’ control, so that the Israel can, finally, experience security on that border, without ongoing missiles & murderous incursions. While some of the Hamas leaders of the October 7th atrocities have been executed, Israel faces escalation by the northern “tentacle,” Hezbollah, of the Jihadist “Octopus,” whose head is in Teheran. Teheran pours billions of dollars in resources & weapons to Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, & the Houthis, to weaken & wipe out Israel. Hezbollah’s immediate goal is to conquer the Galilee, to turn it into another Nasrallah-Khomeini country, as it has already done in Lebanon. (For a happier note from Iran, see this work of God:  https://youtube.com/watch?v=fb-1TrUrM_c&si=qxotLo-rrmBPMTJq )

Now, lest one think this war is merely an ethnic conflict between Jews and Arabs, here is an interview with famous journalist, Joel Rosenberg, who interviews both Israelis & Arab Christians, one of whom describes how Hezbollah turned the Lebanese Christian section of South Lebanon into a Jihadist controlled territory. Having found refuge over the Israeli border, he was clearly anxious, lest his refuge would again be swallowed by Hezbollah. He was very clear that the IDF must stop Hezbollah! For those who are unaware, it needs to be stated that the Galilee is not only the home of Jewish cities, towns, agricultural settlements, but full of Arab villages, which need protection too. Moreover, the Israeli army is national, made up of Israeli citizens and volunteers; so, there are Christian Arab & Muslim soldiers too: some of the latter are Bedouins, Circassians (a Muslim people group transplanted from central Asia) & Druze (a people group who believe they are descendants of Jethro and so have a fraternal covenant with Israel. And victims of Oct. 7th were not only Jews. East Asian workers and local Bedouins were kidnapped or died from rockets or bullets. A Bedouin worker employed at a Kibbutz had begged the drug-crazed terrorists in Arabic not to kill him; but it made no difference. He perished with the Jews!

A brighter view of Israel comes from a Muslim gal, something the media & even the world ignore, to pursue their agenda of supposed Israeli apartheid & crimes against Arab Palestinians: https://youtube.com/watch?v=wkvaxLaIsG0&si=7Om4KUMjINH-JEcy

On the whole, the Lord has been gracious, as we have prayed for the roughly, 800+ believing soldiers, in the Israeli army. However, one, sweet-faced guy died in battle in mid-December. What was unique about him is that he was not a Messianic Jew, but a member of a German family running a senior facility for Holocaust survivors in the north. His grandparents had come to Israel with a vision for restoration. With a singing group, I had visited this senior facility close to the Lebanese border and saw how lovingly these aged survivors were being care for. Uriya’s funeral was attended by a large crowd of Israelis: “The streets leading to the cemetery were lined with an honor guard of Israelis clad in T-shirts bearing Uriya’s face and the words “Israel’s hero,” wrote the reporter. These German brethren have paid a high price as part of their ministry to Israel!

In the midst of this national turbulence, in mid-December I turned 76. One of my close sisters in the Lord sent me a loving WhatsApp saying: “Not the happiest time to have a birthday…but I am so happy you were born!” Since I was born near the start of the Israeli independence war, I quipped back, “You are so right - but it’s not uncharacteristic of my life: when I was a baby, bullets were flying not far from my cradle!” I was blessed to have several birthday outings, which made for a sweet distraction in the midst of the stress of war. This dear family in the Lord, the Barhoums, although a very busy, Israeli Arab couple (the Christian Chaplains of the Israeli prison system, overseeing a local youth ministry, & in other leadership roles) took us out to a delightful Arab restaurant. There we were, despite this larger bitter conflict, having a couple of hours of sweet fellowship in the Lord.

Another outing was at a restaurant in downtown Nazareth, owned by a young Arab brother, whom Mordechai’s organization (Israel First Fruits that supports believers’ businesses) helped get on its feet. When we first went two years ago on my birthday, I discovered that this sweet young brother and I shared a common denominational history - both of us were raised in the Brethren movement in Israel. Given this special bond, it has become a tradition to have a family birthday celebration at his restaurant. However, there was a sad note this year. Every year at Christmas, Nazareth glowed with lights, sporting the tallest Christmas tree in the Middle East (150 ft.), attracting local residents, pilgrims, and curious crowds of Israelis who come to enjoy the brightly lit, joyous atmosphere. This year the lights were subdued, the massive Christmas tree conspicuous by its absence! The fancy hotel nearby, normally teeming with international tourists,  was instead full of Bedouin evacuees from villages near the Gaza border, crowded in the hotel and longing for the open space of their dusty villages on the desert dunes spotted with scrubby greens!

Humans love and need routines. Aside from the pall of grief and trauma hanging over the country, there is distress caused by the jarring loss of family, homes, work income, disrupted schooling, & the long draft duty. The above Bedouin group is just a small part of the 100,000 Israelis in the South who fled their homes, many of which were destroyed, and the 80,000 Israelis who evacuated their homes and farms along the Northern border, to live in unfamiliar places, cramped hotel rooms, or strange new high-rises. (Message from Pastor Beener of S’derot, near Gaza:  https://youtube.com/watch?v=Z9-xPiL4ufo&si=qbqqOhXgvqiYXw9V )

Speaking of losses, our women’s group, with some who had experienced various life losses, initiated a grief and loss seminar, led by an American Jewish believer. She is a highly regarded & skilled thanatologist (grief expert), who for years has trained medical students & conducted numerous workshops. Having had no personal time and leisure for months to process my brother’s Home-going, I had urged the group to invite her. The workshop, held the day before my birthday, was so rich and helpful that our pastor has invited her to lead one for our entire congregation. It was certainly God’s perfect timing during this time of national grief.

Finally, the crucial prayer needs mentioned in the last update have not changed much:

First, prayer for the safety and emotional resilience of the soldiers in the IDF, both unbelieving & believing. One of the young brothers, an enthusiastic evangelist, who came back from ministering to Israelis in Asia, went straight into the thick of the conflict. Trained as an army medic, hoping to be busy mostly with wounded fellow combatants, he had to face rather traumatic situations. When he came home for a respite after weeks in Gaza, he was not in a good emotional state. He reported that the kibbutz houses along the Gaza front looked and smelled like crematoria, full of burnt bodies; and in evacuating wounded soldiers, he was shot at by terrorists, so had to shoot back to kill. So, yes, please pray for our believing soldiers’ protection & also be bearers of the Light.

Second, a quick, negotiated or miraculous release of the kidnapped being held in terrible conditions (some 135 + bodies).

Third, Hezbollah to go north beyond the Litani river, without a very destructive conflict on both sides of the Lebanese border.

Fourth, in the midst of all this boiling pot, we are dealing with some family stresses. I have some back issues that need healing. And Chanan, who has not yet received the results of the prostate biopsy (performed a month ago, due to “suspicious spots” showing on an MRI), now needs to fly to Montreal, probably this month. His Uncle Joe, his mother’s younger brother, a widower in his early 90s, estranged from his only adopted daughter, is depending on his nephew to “hold his hand” as he is in hospice, battling the last stages of cancer! It is not an unreasonable expectation. Uncle Joe had been a help to the three Wiseman kids, providing emotional support as they were dealing with a chaotic home life of two parents with recurring psychiatric disorders. Chanan’s younger sister, Viv, who lives in Montreal, has been helping with Uncle Joe’s care, but is also in cancer remission.

Our most important prayer is the salvation of uncle and sister. After decades of prayer - like with my own Israeli tribe of relatives - Yeshua does not seem to be “on their radar”! So please pray for Chanan to have the energy (the uncle expects him to help empty his huge house so it can be sold), but especially the anointing and wisdom how to comfort and speak to them again about the Lord.

Thank you for all the loving messages of support and prayers. We need your prayers to avoid burnout (which many, both believers and unbelievers, are experiencing here as the war drags on), as well as to hear clearly the Good Shepherd, and to be all He has called us to be in this season!

With Much Love and Gratitude in Yeshua,                                                                                         Nechama & Chanan Wisemen

Thank you, Fred Campbell,

Some Things I Never Thought I Would See

By Jan Markell

January 18, 2024

Here’s my current list:

I never thought I would see the day:

When churches would see our mind-numbing headlines and stories and suggest that there are perhaps a hundred or a thousand years before Jesus returns! They say we’ve always had perilous times. Nothing is new.

I never thought I would see the day:

The World Economic Forum would meet the week it was minus 40 degrees in my hometown and obsess over global warming and electric vehicles, since they don’t function well right now in Minneapolis. And all of us are cheering for global warming.

I never thought I would see the day:

When the champion of the hurting around the world, the Red Cross, would deny care and medication to Israeli hostages and instead scold the hostages for Gaza's destruction.

I never thought I would see the day:

When the International Court of Justice would declare Israel guilty of genocide when it was Israel who experienced a genocidal attack. Imagine, portions of the free world siding with barbarians rather than a democratic ally. Did someone say “upside down world?”

I never thought I would see the day:

All of the leaders of sanctuary cities and states would be screaming bloody murder to keep illegals out of their sanctuary cities and states.

I never thought I would see the day:

When a U.S. Secretary of State would tell another country—Israel—they cannot win a war. They cannot defeat terrorists who perpetrated genocide on them.

I never thought I would see the day:

I would watch entire church denominations side with those who perpetrated the worst slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. What Bible are they reading? They believe Jesus was a Palestinian. Really?

I never thought I would see the day:

The nation of Nigeria, with its Christian population nearly decimated by Muslims, not be put on Washington’s 2024 persecution watch list!

I never thought I would see the day:

When Democrats admit that Hamas or the Taliban or al-Qaida may be crossing our southern border and then brag about our strong national security! Reprobate minds see upside down.

I never thought I would see the day:

When the world would favor elements of society who cry “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” and glorify these thugs. When “Israel Derangement Syndrome” would overtake entire nations, and when universities would favor them, even as Jews hide in closets and secret rooms.

I never thought I would see the day:

When at the most significant time in history, believers would talk about “rapture fatigue” and “end-time burn-out” because they were tired of watching and waiting for Christ’s return. It’s just taking too long.

I never thought I would see the day:

When the tragedy of Lahaina, Maui—with all of its mystery and likely conspiracy—would so quickly be forgotten and the people so pathetically abandoned.

And yet people still trust the government!

I never thought I would see the day:

When lockdowns would become a part of normal society! First it was Covid lockdowns. Now I am learning about climate lockdowns coming. I guess the mantra is, “You will go nowhere and be happy!”

I never thought I would see the day:

That the subject of Israel—who is the primary subject of the Bible—would be the issue causing enormous church splits since October 7. Denominations don’t want to acknowledge that Jews wrote our Bible or play a prominent role today. I guess theology matters to some and their theology erases the nation of Israel!

I could go on for endless pages with further examples, sadly. The Bible is blunt that the last days would be perilous and filled with unruly and selfish people. It says society would be “given over” (Romans 1). We just didn’t think it would be this bad.

But God placed you and me in it for such a time as this! We are here on assignment and not by accident. We can be the salt and light needed for our times! The followers of Jesus Christ are to shine no matter what the circumstances and no matter how bad it gets.

Hang on a little longer. And it is the darkest before the dawn—the dawn being the glorious Rapture of the church when we leave this wicked planet behind! Only in Eternity will we cease being shocked by the world and by an upside-down society. Only then will everything make sense. Finally, I will be able to stop saying, “I never thought I would see the day.”

Fox News Hosts Get In Face-To-Face Brawl Live On Air During Insane Exchange:

Rachel Campos-Duffy reprimanded Pete Hegseth for deriving satisfaction from a prankster’s deliberate provocation of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

During the Fox & Friends show, Campos-Duffy, Hegseth, and Will Cain discussed a widely shared incident where a heckler sarcastically praised the governor as “our little snowflake” and disrupted DeSantis’ town hall by presenting him with a participation trophy. The atmosphere was noticeably tense.

Hegseth found the stunt to be amusing, whereas Campos-Duffy mentioned that her co-host had shared the footage with her before to the broadcast, and she did not find it nearly as entertaining.

“Pete sent this clip to me, and he was like, ‘Isn’t this funny?’ I said, ‘Actually, I don’t think it’s funny,’ because I think — and I love you Pete — I’ve been a candidate’s spouse, so I can put myself in Casey DeSantis‘ shoes there. It is cold as you know what, and you’re campaigning. You’re doing your best, and I just think this kind of unnecessary humiliation is unnecessary.”

“He’s doing his best, so he got a participation trophy,” Hegseth said, laughing as he defended the clip. Campos-Duffy responded by calling the incident “unnecessary trolling of good public servants trying to do the right thing, campaign, and I don’t like it.”

Cain, who desired to be fully informed, expressed his curiosity as to why his co-hosts had neglected to provide him with a copy of the recording prior to the show.

Laura Ingraham Drops Major Statement on Live TV:

Fox News personality Laura Ingraham made a strong declaration on her broadcast, urging the other prospective Republican presidential aspirants, specifically Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, to acknowledge defeat and endorse Donald Trump.

Trump’s resounding triumph in the Iowa caucuses, which Ingraham characterized as a crucial turning point for the GOP, was subsequently followed by this.

“This is my advice to the last three, and that’s the focus of tonight’s angle. After what we witnessed in Iowa last night, it’s time for everyone to start living in the real world,” she exclaimed. Trump’s triumph in Iowa, while grappling with numerous indictments and managing court appearances alongside his campaign, served to reinforce his position as a strong political powerhouse.

International Man: The carbon hysteria extends far beyond oil and gas companies.

One overlooked area is household appliances.

Politicians are implementing increasingly stringent regulations for dishwashers, washing machines, and other appliances. There have even been reports of a desire to phase out gas stoves.

What’s your take on all of this?

Doug Casey: As Der Schwabenklaus of the World Economic Forum boldly said some years ago, “You’ll own nothing and be happy.”

The fact that a prominent figure could actually say that, promote the idea, and not be pilloried gives you an idea of the spirit of the current century. The lack of outrage from the average man is even more sick than the idea itself.

Not owning appliances is a practical application of the meme, but just one tentacle of the global warming octopus. Appliances are constructed from resources that have to be mined and run with electricity; that makes them evil. It’s much more important in these people’s views to “save the planet”—a ridiculous concept—than to continue raising the standard of living.

The fact is that the self-righteous authoritarians who want to limit the use of appliances basically just hate people—especially middle-class people. They’d really like to revert to pre-capitalist times, when only the upper classes, the feudal aristocrats, could benefit from conveniences.

Ecowarriors, the Greens, are cut from the same cloth as socialists, communists, and fascists. Their totem fruit is the watermelon, green on the outside and red on the inside.

International Man: Many people have noticed that modern appliances are not the same quality as the ones produced decades ago. For one thing, modern appliances tend to require much more time to do the same thing an older model could do faster.

For example, today, it’s common to see a standard dish-washing cycle to take more than two hours.

Modern appliances also don’t perform as well and break down more frequently. Climate regulations are largely to blame for this regression.

What is really going on here?

Doug Casey: I don’t have a lot of personal experience with how appliances work, but I’ve certainly heard that modern appliances are designed to sacrifice convenience and time in order to possibly use less water or electricity.

One thing that I do recall is that several decades ago, the US government decided to regulate the amount of water that could be used to flush toilets. The devices are now less sanitary and often have to be flushed twice. The idea that politicians should mandate plumbing designs is absurd. But they do this with all products—cars, planes, houses, you name it. They destroy capital and slow technological progress, even while annoying and frustrating engineers.

But perhaps the average person doesn’t think about these things or care. The standard of living has gone up for so long that we tend to think it’s automatic and divinely ordained. I’m not so sure about that. Everything tends to wind down unless there is enough outside force to counteract it.

For instance, we live in a throwaway society. If you need something repaired, it’s generally more economic to throw the whole thing away than to hire a skilled craftsman to fix it, even though they barely exist anymore, and they’re very expensive. It’s often cheaper to replace things that break.

Is that truly economic or not? I’m not sure, but we can see it even with houses. Once upon a time, houses were built to last 100 years or longer. They were a major capital investment. But now, they seem to be the residential equivalent of IKEA furniture. They’re disposable assets. But who cares if you’re renting or have a large mortgage?

I can understand how a “throwaway” mentality might be a good thing, even though it seems wasteful, simply because technology improves. Out with the old, in with the “new and improved.” Most changes make electricity, plumbing and insulation more economic. Who wants old stuff when technology can give you new stuff that works better? The problem, however, might be that new appliances are expensive and often financed. Your standard of living might go up in the short run but further down in the long run as you deal with debt.

A case can be made for everything being bulldozed after 50 or 100 years—a cycle of life argument. You may want to keep an old car for sentimental reasons, but newer cars really do work better. Although you’ll probably have to finance the thing over seven years since they’re so expensive. Or lease it, turning a minor asset into a perpetual liability. And if it breaks, you can forget about trying to fix it yourself, if only because of its thousands of computer chips. The same is true with most devices.

There are reasons to hate appliances and devices even while you need or even love them. But I prefer to make the decision, not some government official. It’s a moral question, not a technical question.

International Man: Governments present so-called “green” solutions as a step forward to the future.

However, in many ways, they represent a big step backward.

What is your take?

Doug Casey: One currently fashionable indication of this is the 15-minute city, which governments are trying to impose all over the world. These would penalize you if you exit your designated 15-minute zone more than X number of times per month. The idea is green. And, like most green notions, it is very retrogressive. They want to return people to the status of medieval serfs, when few ventured more than 15 minutes from their hovels.

The most egregious green solutions, of course, involve spending trillions of dollars to build wind and solar facilities to generate electricity. There’s nothing wrong with using wind or solar power, but they only make sense for specific projects, usually in isolated locations under special conditions.

Wind and solar are totally unsuitable for running an industrial civilization. They’ve gotten much better over the years as technology has advanced, but they’re still more the product of social engineering than mechanical or electrical engineering.

Electric vehicles are another example. As a lifelong car guy, I see advantages to EVs. They have very low centers of gravity, which, everything else being equal, makes them handle much better than equivalent internal combustion engine cars. They have many fewer moving parts, which adds to reliability and efficiency. They’re quieter, emissions-free on the road, and lightning-fast. These are big pluses.

But on the downside, they’re a nightmare when it’s too cold or too hot; temperature extremes drain batteries, and it’s still quite inconvenient to charge them. That’s assuming the huge extra load they entail doesn’t cause the whole “sustainable” wind/solar grid to collapse.

Of course, battery technology will improve, so they may yet fulfill their promise. But in the meantime, when the lithium battery needs replacement, you might as well junk the car. Plus, they tend to be ultra-expensive to repair if you’re in a fender bender and potentially quite dangerous under certain conditions.

Unless I either want a high-performance plaything or was in an ideal environment where I’m just using it locally, EVs don’t currently make much sense.

In fact, almost all “green” solutions are uneconomic, counterproductive, and even destructive.

International Man: The rise of carbon hysteria has coincided with rising inflation.

For example, the average person might typically be expected to be upset by a drastic rise in meat or energy prices.

But his anger is muted and misdirected by the media, academia, Hollywood, and politicians telling him that his reduced standard of living is somehow helping save the planet. It seems like the carbon hysteria is a mass campaign to gaslight people into accepting a lowering of their standard of living.

What is your view on the relationship between inflation and the carbon hysteria?

Doug Casey: Well, inflation is caused by money printing. The carbon hysteria will mostly be financed by money printing. So, there’s an indirect relationship. But it’s actually worse than that.

It’s long been said that war is the health of the State. We’re now looking at an insane war on carbon to supposedly save the planet. Carbon is not only the basis of all life, but CO2 levels are only marginally above what’s necessary to sustain plant life.

It’s genetically inbred in people to pull together during a war. The eco-hysterics ask: “What could be more important than a war to save the planet?” So, of course, thoughtless people will accept less and do what they’re told. In my view, this is all complete nonsense.

If they tell the plebs that inflation is somehow necessary to fight deadly CO2 and save the planet, then the average pleb will probably go along, since he’s got almost no knowledge of economics, and even less of science.

The planet will be just fine. It’s been here for 4.5 billion years and will be here for billions more, long after humanity has disappeared or gone elsewhere. Anyway, the climate hysterics don’t really care about “saving the planet”; even they aren’t quite that stupid. What’s going on is that they actually hate humanity. And themselves. The world is suffering from an episode of mass psychosis.

My reaction is to push against them wherever possible.

International Man: Where is the carbon hysteria trend headed? Have we hit the high water mark?

Doug Casey: Well, we have to look at both long-term and short-term trends.

The long-term trend—the ascent of man—has been in motion for at least 10,000 years. It’s been advancing exponentially with more scientific breakthroughs, leading to better technology and a higher standard of living. Will that trend stop? I’d like to think it will not only continue but accelerate.

But there have been counter trends within that very favorable long-term trend. The Bronze Age collapse around 1200 BC set civilization back for over 400 years. The fall of Roman civilization in the West led to the Dark Ages from roughly the fifth through the ninth centuries. Could we be on the cusp of something similar? There are plenty of reasons for concern. But let’s not engage in fear porn.

I hate to think something so dire is in the cards. But Dark Riders are at large, and the eye of Sauron is scanning the world. The tendency towards authoritarianism or even totalitarianism worldwide is growing—not to mention the possibility of World War III.

The negative trends go way beyond carbon hysteria and appliances that don’t work very well.
