He went on to draw a comparison to Omar Khadr, the homegrown Al-Qaeda terrorist who killed a U.S. serviceman and yet received a $10.5-million settlement from Ottawa for "hurt feelings."
"I find it repulsive that Tamara Lich, a grandmother out West that conducted a peaceful demonstration… is considered public enemy number one," David said.
Tamara said the judge's decision came as no surprise given how she behaved during two earlier hearings, calling the outcome "a draw" rather than a win or a loss. She has 18 days left of house arrest before moving into a curfew, with her sentence set to end in January.
However, Chris Barber, her co-accused, has been freely crossing into the United States for work throughout the case. Yet when Lich's lawyer raised Barber's travel history during the hearing, the judge dismissed it, saying there was no evidence before her, even though the judge herself wrote the allowance into the order.
"We don't have a justice system in Canada anymore. There is no justice. It's a legal system," Tamara said.
Tamara has already appealed her conviction, Barber has appealed both his conviction and sentence, and the Crown is separately appealing their acquittal on other charges.
She pointed to a similar case involving activist Chris King, whose acquittal on an intimidation charge was overturned by an appellate court without a new hearing or fresh evidence, as a sign of where her own case is likely headed.
"I'm absolutely certain that's going to happen in our case, and I'm sure this is going to end up in the Supreme Court eventually," Tamara said.
Tamara, for her part, said she intends to simply wait out the remainder of her sentence. "We just got to ride it out and wait till it's all over," she said, adding that she expects to regain some daytime freedom once her house arrest ends and her curfew period begins in January.
The government is trying to stop Tamara Lich from doing her job.
Tamara is allowed to leave home for work under the terms of her house arrest. Rebel News hired her as a Community Ambassador and reporter, and her work travel was approved for months.
Then she attended a Fourth of July reception hosted by the U.S. Ambassador as a journalist. The CBC, the New York Times and other establishment media outlets erupted in outrage — and soon afterwards, officials moved to restrict her ability to travel for work outside Alberta.

We do not call dates here and we are not starting today. What we can do is answer the question the way the file answers it. Strip the sirens off the weekend and look at what the people who own the decisions actually did with their 48 hours. Every one of them did something, and none of it was noise.
Iran wrote down its terms and sent them to Washington. Gulf capitals cleared their calendars for the day after. Iraq's central bank stood up in public to defend the price of the dinar. Baghdad's Prime Minister silenced his own government and boarded a plane for New York. And Washington's Iraq hands put the last two obstructing names in Baghdad on paper. Pilot killed after two glider planes collide mid-air in upstate New York

It’s a projected slide from a Sept. 14 all-staff meeting held within an unidentified elementary school in the York Region, just north of Toronto.
The slide presents the assembled teachers with 10 “anti-oppression agreements.” Among them, “I will accept that the institution of Education is an instrumental tool for maintaining and furthering the ideology of white supremacy.”
The next “agreement” then includes a commitment to “dismantle the structures and systems of white supremacy.”
“It was just styled as an ‘agreement,’” wrote Kay on X, adding that the teachers weren’t required to recite the text.
As of press time, the York Region District School Board did not respond to queries about the slide’s authenticity.
But the language isn’t all that different from any number of official materials distributed to Ontario teachers declaring that they are servants of a white supremacist hierarchy.
In 2024, the York Region District School Board published a framework on “Dismantling Hate and Oppression,” which claimed schools are shot through with “colonial ideology” and that staff are all unwitting purveyors of white supremacy.
“The ideology of white supremacy impacts attitudes and behaviours in all peoples, regardless of race, culture, gender, or religion and this, over time, contributes to these behaviours and attitudes becoming normalized and taken-for-granted,” the board document says.
That same year, the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario published a 20-page “anti-oppressive framework primer,” which similarly tells teachers they operate within an inherently oppressive system that they must be “working intentionally to dismantle.”
As evidence, the report cites the existence of “Crazy Hair Day” in schools, as it perpetuates a “dominant Euro-centric culture” while also stigmatizing the mentally ill.
“’Crazy’ is a term that is ableist. It is demeaning to those living with a mental illness and unfairly stigmatizes those whose hair does not conform with the norm on a daily basis as ‘crazy,” it reads.
“For students and colleagues who for example, wear hijabs, turbans, or have complex medical needs, are their voices being included in days such as this?”
The Waterloo Region District School Board publishes a regularly updated guide to the “equity competencies” its teachers are supposed to exhibit, and this includes several statements not far removed from the “anti-oppression agreements” in the York Region meeting.
Among the “competencies” are acknowledgements that teachers and staff work within schools beset by “colonial structures” and “white supremacy.”
The equitably competent staff member, they are told, is one who “actively works to dismantle racist and oppressive school and system practices and structures” and “intentionally names, challenges and addresses white supremacy.”
The Peel District School Board, which operates just to the west of Toronto, practises “equity audits” to ensure schools are appropriately purging themselves of alleged white supremacy.
Online guidelines for the audits require Peel District educators to ask themselves if they are avoiding classroom practices that might come off as “Eurocentric” or “colonial.”
“In what ways will you challenge white supremacy culture in your classroom practice?” it asks.
In February 2024, all 20,000 teachers within the Toronto District School Board were supplied with a 40-page guidebook on “Facilitating Critical Conversations,” which declared that the very act of educating children in an institutional environment was part of “a colonial structure that centres whiteness.”
“Schooling in North America is inherently designed for the benefit of the dominant culture,” it wrote, defining the dominant culture as “white, middle-upper class, male, Christian, cisgender, heterosexual, able-bodied, neurotypical.”
The guide advised, “therefore it must be actively decolonized.”
The same guide also instructed teachers to prioritize race in all their interactions with students.
“Race matters — it is a visible and dominant identity factor in determining people’s social, political, economic, and cultural experiences,” it read.
But Facilitating Critical Conversations was ultimately removed by the Toronto District School Board following public backlash, with Ontario’s Ministry of Education saying it was needlessly divisive.

The [DS] thought they had Trump where they wanted him, now he has turned the tables on the [DS]. He blamed EU, D’s for the gas prices because of the war with Russia and they fell right for the trap. Trump has taken Greenland away from the [DS]. Russia sanction are really against the other countries working with Russia. Trump who is the lion is taking out the jackals one by one. They thought they were in control, they were never in control they were brought down a path and now Trump has them exactly where he wants them.
