I recently visited a beautiful Catholic church in northern Israel to find out the truth about Christians living in the Holy Land.


The global narrative often claims that Christians face severe persecution in Israel. But does that narrative actually stand up to scrutiny? I wanted to see for myself.


I spoke with Father Samir Rohana of the Greek Catholic Church, right inside the church he personally decorated. I asked him the real questions, like: “Do people spit on you on the street? That’s what we get told.”

His response was clear: while such incidents happen occasionally in Jerusalem, “here, no.” He explained that the political class and the people are very different. When I asked if anyone had ever tried to humiliate him or vandalize the church, his answer was simply: “no.”

I also met Druze influencer Khalifa Khalifa and Deputy Mayor of Isfiya Jaber Abu Ruken. Abu Ruken summed up the lesson we both learned: “We learn here to respect the differences with others... not to impose the faith or ideology upon others. This what say live and let others live.”


This is the kind of story the mainstream media doesn’t cover, and the global narrative on Christian persecution is far more complicated than many are led to believe.

He talks about controlling 'online Platforms' the same way Trudeau did!

Prime Minister Mark Carney cannot be trusted with our Charter-protected right to free expression.


The man has been clear: during the election campaign, Carney spoke scornfully of our most essential freedom, our speech, from which all our other freedoms flow.


Carney has hinted that his Liberal government will bring back some iteration of Trudeau’s tyrannical — there is no other word for it — Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act, which was killed when the former prime minister prorogued parliament this January.


You will recall that this now-defunct legislation would have granted judges the ability to mete out life sentences for hate speech, and would have created a government “Digital Safety Commission” to police Canadians’ speech, and impose life-destroying fines upon those whose speech was deemed hateful by our government censors.


It was frightening legislation. But not, apparently, to Prime Minister Carney.


In April, at two of Carney’s rallies in Ontario, he announced his government’s proposed plan to tackle crime and improve public safety. “Large American online platforms have become seas of racism, misogyny, antisemitism, Islamophobia, and hate — in all its forms. And they’re being used by criminals to harm our children. My government will act,” said Carney.


Sound familiar? It should.


We have heard this before: Carney is using the same tactic of his predecessor. It was Justin Trudeau who first attempted to manipulate Canadians with fear for our children’s safety as a means to sneak in repressive, anti-free speech legislation.


Consider then-prime minister Trudeau’s words from a February 2024 news conference in Edmonton: “We know and everyone can agree that kids are vulnerable online, to hatred, to violence, to being bullied, to seeing and being affected by terrible things online. And we need to do a better job as a society to protect our kids online,” Trudeau said, one week before tabling Bill C-63.


And now, back to Carney last month: “New online platforms have created new threats, including and perhaps especially for children… And as much as we, as parents, want to protect our kids, we can’t always be there.


We can’t always be looking over our kids’ shoulders to see what they’re doing, or what they’re exposed to online. And so while protecting children is, first and foremost, a parent’s responsibility, it is also a collective responsibility.


And with the support of Canadians, my government will act to protect children online and bring those who seek to harm them to justice. We will first introduce legislation to protect children from online exploitation and extortion.”


Using Trudeau’s old manipulation tactic, Carney has found an additional excuse to promote and justify government censorship. He revealed it at his April rally in Hamilton: “One of the issues we’re dealing with… misogyny, antisemitism, hatred, conspiracy theories — this sort of pollution that’s online that washes over our virtual borders from the United States… and, that’s fine…


I can take the conspiracy theory and all that, but the more serious thing is when it affects how people behave in our society. When Canadians are threatened going to their community centres or their places of worship, or their schools,” said Carney.

Much like Trudeau first weaponized child safety to push for censorship, so too is Carney is using Canada’s despicable rise in antisemitic hate crimes, since the October 7 attack on Israel, to try to convince Canadians that what we really need protection from is, first and foremost, words on the internet.


Do not fall for it.


Carney has no proof that online discourse — our free expression — is directly responsible for hate crimes or violence on our streets. And even if he did have the proof, it still would not justify censorship. Nothing does.


In the introduction to his book Free Speech, Danish human rights lawyer Jacob Mchangama reminds us that the powerful have good reason to detest new technology, or, in Carney’s case, “new online platforms”: “New communication technology is inevitably disruptive and every new advancement —from the printing press to the internet — has been opposed by those whose institutional authority is vulnerable to being undermined by sudden change,” Mchangama writes.


In Carney’s case, his institutional authority is indeed vulnerable. It’s not merely that he rules via a minority, made possible only by the collapse of Canada’s New Democratic Party, but that the entire political agenda of Canada’s left is on shaky ground. Our youth are moving right. But it’s more than that: on climate, fossil fuels, immigration, race, gender, identity politics, and free speech, too — leftist social justice perspectives on each of these topics, which were orthodox throughout the Trudeau era, are falling out of favour.


Carney knows this.


We mustn’t be lulled into a false sense of security with Carney’s promises to end child exploitation, antisemitism, or any other devious or violent crimes — if only his government can control the information we have access to. Such promises have nothing to do with safety, and everything to do with power.


While Canada’s economy can likely withstand four more years of asphyxiating Liberal policies, I’m not certain that our country can survive such a sustained attack on our freedom of expression.

TRUMP: 

A grand jury indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday:


As noted in August, a criminal referral was filed against James, alleging that she had "falsified records" to get home loans for a Virginia property that she claimed was her "principal residence" in 2023 - while she was serving as a New York state prosecutor.


Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte sent the missive to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy AG Todd Blanche, claiming that in late August 2023 - weeks before she launched her civil fraud trial against the Trump Organization for inflating the values of its properties.


In 2021, James also purchased a 5-family Brooklyn property, but has "consistently misrepresented the same property as only having four units in both building permit applications and numerous mortgage documents and applications," the letter noted.


Loans secured for this property could have reduced her mortgage interest rate by as much as 1% - leaving James with lower monthly payments under the federal Home Assistance Modification Program (HAMP) since it was listed as containing just four units, according to Pulte.


CBS Reports:

A grand jury indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday, according to the clerk of court in the Eastern District of Virginia, marking the second Trump foe to face federal prosecution in recent weeks.

The indictment came exactly two weeks after a grand jury in the same Virginia courthouse voted to indict former FBI Director James Comey on charges of lying to Congress.

 

Last month, Mr. Trump publicly urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to look into Comey, James and a third longtime Trump antagonist, Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff of California.

James has drawn Mr. Trump's ire for years. Her office sued the president and the Trump Organization for fraud in 2022, leading a judge to issue a nine-figure judgment against the company. Mr. Trump has referred to James as "scum," "corrupt" and "racist."

 

CBS News has reached out to the Justice Department and James' office for comment.

The charges against James are unclear. In May, CBS News reported that the Justice Department had launched a criminal probe into James around alleged mortgage fraud. Three months later, the Justice Department expanded its investigation into James for her office's handling of its Trump Organization probe.


The mortgage fraud investigation began after William Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, wrote a letter to Bondi alleging that James "has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms."

 

Pulte claimed James received deals on mortgage terms by falsifying information related to multiple properties over the course of decades. The allegations include listing a home in Norfolk, Virginia, as her "principal residence" despite living and working in New York, buying a five-family property in Brooklyn with a loan that is only available for homes with four units or less, and an accusation that in 1983, James' father signed mortgage documents stating they were husband and wife.

 

James has denied the allegations, calling them "baseless." In April, Abbe Lowell — an attorney for James whose firm frequently represents clients that it believes have been unfairly targeted by the Trump administration — sent a letter to the Department of Justice refuting the allegations laid out in Pulte's letter.


In a letter to Bondi, Lowell called the allegations "long-disproven" and referred to the investigation as "the latest act of improper political retribution — this time directed at Ms. James — publicly instigated and endorsed by President Trump."

 

DOJ charges another longtime Trump foe

Mr. Trump has sparred with James since she was elected New York attorney general in 2018 and began pursuing cases against the president, his businesses and his administration.

 

In the civil lawsuit against Mr. Trump and the Trump Organization, James' office accused the company of fraudulently inflating the value of its real estate assets to gain more favorable lending terms in what she called "the art of the steal," a play on the name of Mr. Trump's book, "The Art of the Deal." The president denied wrongdoing, and he and his attorneys lashed out at James, characterizing the case as politically motivated.

 

After a trial that delved deeply into Mr. Trump's business empire, a judge ordered the president and his company to pay a judgment in excess of $350 million — which ballooned to over a half-billion dollars including interest. Judges on New York's appellate court later tossed out the judgment over the summer, calling it "excessive."

 

Since returning to office, Mr. Trump has taken the unprecedented step of encouraging the Justice Department to look into people who he believes wronged him during his first term or his four years out of office — including Comey and James. 

 

The moves have been met with some internal backlash. The acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Erik Siebert, resigned last month, amid concern from prosecutors in the office that the Trump administration could fire him for failing to prosecute James.

 

Siebert was replaced as interim U.S. attorney by Lindsey Halligan, a former Trump attorney and White House aide. Just days after she was sworn in, the office asked a grand jury to indict Comey for allegedly lying during a Senate hearing five years ago.

 

Meanwhile, Trump-aligned attorney Ed Martin — who leads the Justice Department's new Weaponization Working Group — pressed James to resign as state attorney general in an August letter obtained by the Associated Press.

In other words, Democratic Party leaders have no real interest in serving the working class. They don’t even want them involved in their politics because they’re TERRIFIED that if they do, they will challenge the Democratic Party’s old way of doing things and beat them in the battle of ideas.

And this is the party that claims to stand for “Democracy.”

Dear Judy,

Blessings.  I was heavily buying into the TRB scam. Coins. Lots of coins. Pictures. You name it. I read in their Terms and Conditions that you could request your money back if not satisfied (or words to that effect).


I wrote every one of them a letter requesting my money back, OR I WOULD START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND BANKRUPT THEM. As soon as they heard “class action lawsuit,” I got every penny of my money back from everyone. 


The last person was my holdout. He did not want to return my money (about $800). Every two weeks, I would email him (or her), asking for a refund. After about 3 months of this, I finally got my last $800 back. I feel for everyone that got scammed. And it’s still happening.

It has always been my understanding that are QFS accounts are already in place and secure, waiting for us to activate them at the redemption center or bank as we do our transactions with the RV.  The Medbeds have been promised for free and our appointments can be either scheduled or a contact point given to make an appointment. 


The Medbed Cards seem to be another scam.  I also question SkyPrince who wants $300. just to register for the Medbeds.


I have also submitted a statement to the Telegram administrator about your false account, Judy, on Telegram.  As a result, I am getting warnings that my account may be terminated. 


I also attempted to cash out with millions promised by others like three Karoline Leavetts, two Susan Wiles, Marco Rubio, Stephen Miller and numerous others and now Tulsi Gaber.  When confronted with the fact that duplicate others are out there and all have different amounts they offer for a substantial fee or tax, they state that the others are frauds and only they are the real ones. 


Questions go unanswered and threats prevail of terminations if not acted upon immediately.  Telegram has become a mecca for scammers.


I want to also say that in the early part of this year, I signed up under Elon Reeves Musk’s fan page on Facebook and was quickly contacted by someone posing as Elon.  Long story short, over months of persuasion, I invested $8000 in one of his supposed companies called Skyline Market Caps that would select investments made with AI to make a lot of money quickly. 


As you would guess, my savings was wiped out which at 86 years of age is devastating and exceedingly embarrassing to be taken in by an outfit originating in Nigeria as was uncovered by law enforcement.  Fraud reports went to all the agencies, the bank and law enforcement and all necessary changes have been made to protect my identity from theft; however,


I have lost the $8000.00 and chose to consider it could have been worse as a sad lesson. The follow up is that a supposed representative from the Musk organization managed a settlement, so he says, of $38,500 that would be delivered to my door, if I sent nearly $5000 to retrieve it.  Once the fraudsters get a hold of you, they are relentless especially with us more vulnerable seniors.  Don’t let them continue the fraud under any pretense. 


You and your other contributor are right in that there needs to be an investigation to annihilate all fraudsters and scammers from the internet or of any other form.  Elon Musk and all other notable names including our President need to protect the public from fraudulent use of their names in anything other than what is not authentically theirs. 


AI is making it extremely difficult to find truth or trust it when found.  All fraud needs to be addressed with stiff penalties and deleted from the market place.  All the coins and bars, etc., being sold on Telegram are certainly questionable.  I have no idea how to know if any or all are viable.
