HANNAFORD: Turns out Trudeau was wrong

— Germany just proved Canada always had an LNG 'business case'

Canada’s LNG agreement with Germany exposes how ideology, not economics, blocked energy exports while Europe scrambled for reliable fuel.


So, there was a business case for natural gas exports to Germany after all. 

Of course, we never thought otherwise. But back in August 2022, with Europe freezing and scrambling after Russia invaded Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz came to Canada hat in hand looking for reliable LNG supplies. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau looked him in the eye and delivered his classic line, that there was “never a strong business case” for Canadian LNG exports to Europe. Too expensive, too far, Europe was going green anyway, etc. 


Germany shrugged, turned around, and signed a fat long-term deal with Qatar instead.

Fast forward through years of European energy pain, higher emissions from dirtier suppliers, and endless Canadian hand-wringing about projects on the “wrong coast.” Fast forward also past multiple stalled proposals, regulatory delays, and virtue signalling: nothing says moral leadership like lecturing your allies on climate purity while they scramble for alternatives to keep the lights on.


Yesterday, however, Energy Minister Tim Hodgson stood up in Vancouver and proudly announced Canada’s first major long-term LNG deal with Germany: up to 1 million tonnes per year from the indigenous-owned Ksi Lisims project on BC’s northwest coast, with deliveries starting in the early 2030s for up to 20 years. 


The buyer? Securing Energy for Europe, which is to be served by a floating LNG facility on Nisga’a lands, powered by hydroelectricity from BC Hydro.

On a point of fact, what Minister Hodgson was announcing was nothing for which to thank the Government of Canada. The tenor of the announcement was that only the government could have made this possible, but this was a deal between companies. In any case, the Final Investment Decision has yet to be made, although it is expected this year.


That's the game, though; allowing politicians their moment is sometimes just the price of progress.

Still, the timing is telling. Just days earlier, on Monday, Prime Minister Mark Carney met with his so-called green caucus — the faction still clinging to the old Trudeau-era climate purism. It would appear the greens did not win the day.


But on Wednesday, this pragmatic LNG export announcement rolled out anyway, which suggests the green caucus is in full retreat and no longer sets the tone for Mr. Carney’s government. Reality and energy security are finally winning out over ideology.

And economics. With eastern manufacturing in serious trouble, somebody has to generate some income.


Energy commentator Ron Wallace remarks: “Yes, this is a milestone — but it is a theoretical sale based on a project that has yet to be built. The Nisga’a are very shrewd businesspeople and, I am sure, they will steward this project to completion — if they can get assured capital for it ($10 billion).”

And the Germans?


Wallace again: “Canada is far behind the US and there is no assurance that even if this project gets built that this contract will be honoured by the Germans who, at that new future time, may find cheaper and more reliable sources of supply.”

It is funny how the “no business case” suddenly disappears once the political winds shift. Turns out there was always a business case — it just needed fewer lectures and more actual work. 


Better late than never, I suppose. But let’s just hope our European friends forget who left them hanging when they needed us most.

JUNO News:

FULLY EXONERATED: Federal election investigators quietly close criminal probe into Juno News

Ottawa’s Senior Director of Enforcement informed me that the federal investigation into myself and Juno News has been closed.

After nearly a year of losing sleep over the prospect of a five-year prison sentence, Ottawa’s Senior Director of Enforcement, informed me that the federal investigation into myself and Juno News has been closed.

No charges were laid.

No evidence of wrongdoing was found.

No apology was offered for the stress, reputational damage, or taxpayer resources consumed by a politically explosive criminal investigation into election reporting.



“Please be advised we have concluded our investigation and no further action will be undertaken against you concerning this matter,” the federal office informed me via lettermail.

Reading between the lines, after ten months of trying to determine the criminality of my journalism, federal investigators came up short.

Funnily enough, Thomas Keeper is something of an authority on that subject.


The probe stemmed from my reporting on Keeper during the last federal election campaign, where he served as Mark Carney’s bravest, yet littlest, warrior in Alberta.

After Carney’s Liberals nominated Keeper in the critical Calgary Confederation riding, nearly a dozen sources with personal knowledge of him approached this reporter, both on and off the record, alleging shocking conduct. More on that here.


Juno News pursued the story carefully. We repeatedly sought comment from both Keeper and the Liberal Party before publication. We attempted to speak to Keeper in person at his campaign office, to which he scurried away, called the police, and lied to officers.

Hours later, the Liberals dropped Keeper as their candidate.




 

 

Then Ottawa turned its attention toward the journalists instead.

Federal investigators examined whether our reporting violated section 91(1) of the Canada Elections Act, a controversial election speech provision carrying penalties of up to five years in prison and a $50,000 fine.


Canadians like to think we live in a free country, with open elections underpinned by freedom of speech. This investigation tells a very different story.

For ten months, the federal government investigated a journalist over election reporting that embarrassed the ruling party. If your reporting damages the regime, you had better be prepared to hire lawyers, drain your savings, and live under the threat of criminal prosecution.


I did sometimes wonder whether the Liberals’ famously generous bail policies would have applied to me.

And it’s not just me calling this Trudeau-era law dangerous. Even Elections Canada’s former Chief Electoral Officer previously recommended repealing it over concerns that it could chill political speech and journalism during election campaigns.

Yet despite those warnings, federal authorities still subjected an independent media outlet to months of criminal scrutiny over reporting that proved consequential enough for the Liberal Party itself to abandon its own candidate.


The investigation may be over, but the message from Ottawa was crystal clear: independent journalism is welcome right up until it becomes effective.

While the criminal probe into Juno News is officially closed, the reality of what it takes to survive as an independent outlet in Canada has never been clearer. When you report the stories that embarrass the ruling regime, you don't just face typical media criticism; you face the full weight of state institutions.


We refused to be intimidated, and we refused to back down, because we don't answer to Ottawa or rely on federal media handouts to keep the lights on. It is exactly this kind of high-stakes, uncompromising reporting that defines our mission, and it's why the 2026 Independent Journalism Fund is so vital to keeping us entirely free, entirely uncensored, and permanently dangerous to the powerful.

Looking back on the last year, would I change anything?

No.


If anything, this experience taught me that the people in power are more willing than ever to use state institutions against their political enemies and critics.

The lesson they wanted journalists to learn was simple: stay quiet.

I will not be learning that lesson.

Groups Targeted by Beijing Concerned About BC Town Pondering Sister City Agreement with China

Human rights advocacy groups are expressing concern about the implications of a potential sister city agreement between Prince George, B.C., and Jiangmen, China, after the Canadian municipality welcomed representatives from the Chinese city last week.

The City of Prince George says representatives from the city of Jiangmen in Guangdong province, southern China, visited last week to “tour the community and consider establishing a sister city agreement.”


Sister city agreements are formal partnerships between municipalities in different countries that support economic development, trade, cultural and educational exchange, tourism, and international collaboration, Prince George noted in a May 11 news release.

The city also noted that a sister city agreement “does not create an automatic financial obligation.”


Critics of the agreements say Chinese authorities have increasingly used sister-city relationships not simply for cultural exchange, but to cultivate political influence, economic access, and relationships with local governments abroad as part of Beijing’s push to expand covert foreign influence operations.

Cheuk Kwan, co-chair of the Toronto Association for Democracy in China, told The Epoch Times that while sister city agreements are framed as cultural civic exchanges, China uses these agreements as “an inroad into foreign influence” in exchange for offering municipalities financial benefits.


While Jiangmen has a population of more than 4 million, Prince George only has roughly 77,000 residents, he noted. Kwan said he could not see any explanation for the Chinese making an agreement with a small city like Prince George aside from political reasons, adding that it would “certainly not” be for cultural reasons.


“You have to ask yourself, what’s the motivation? What [does China] gain from twinning up with Prince George?” Kwan said, adding that municipalities like Prince George should ask themselves why they are considering such an engagement which would only “accommodate hostile forces that are using these innocuous schemes to infiltrate and influence our governments.”


Sister city relationships date back to 1956, when U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower proposed forming this type of “citizen diplomacy” between individual U.S. communities and foreign cities to encourage cultural, educational, and business cooperation.

More than 100 Canadian cities have sister-city agreements with foreign municipalities, and in many cases these partnerships—such as those involving Victoria, Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, Regina, Richmond, Saskatoon, Toronto, Vancouver, and Winnipeg—are with Chinese cities.

 

China has sought sister city agreements with foreign countries since the 1970s, and roughly 2,600 Chinese municipalities had foreign sister city agreements by 2019. The agreements increasingly expanded from friendly exchanges to the economic, cultural, and educational arenas, to also opening doors to ongoing influence by the Chinese regime by mobilizing overseas Chinese communities to advance its interests.

U.S. lawmakers have previously voiced concern that the Chinese communist regime could use sister city agreements as a means to carry out influence and espionage activities, and infiltrate Western culture to achieve Beijing’s economic ends.


‘Fallen Prey’

The City of Prince George said it has “historical ties” to the Chinese community and discussions with the Jiangmen representatives focused on Prince George’s “regional strength, economic development opportunities, education, industry, and future areas of cooperation.”

The Jiangmen delegation visited Prince George city hall, the University of Northern British Columbia, Northern Lights Estate Winery, and B.C. forestry giant Canfor, which has industrial facilities in Prince George.


Kwan noted that B.C. cities have “fallen prey to so-called Chinese investment” in recent years, in which China has sought land to build factories, to mine, or carry out other activities in exchange for financial commitments to the municipality.

While some provinces impose strict restrictions on foreign ownership of farmland, British Columbia has no such restrictions.


In reality, Kwan said, the Chinese regime uses sister city agreements with municipalities to gain resources and to conduct political influence operations. He noted this type of foreign influence happens “in front of our own eyes.”


Authorities in Prince Edward Island are currently investigating two organizations allegedly linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in relation to their land holdings in the province. The organizations have denied keeping ties to China and say their land holdings are below the province’s limit for foreign ownership, while critics argue the organizations could be tied to a single legal owner and would therefore exceed the limit.



‘Real Implications’

Landson Chan, advocacy officer of UK-based NGO Hong Kong Watch, told The Epoch Times that a sister city agreement with Jiangmen is “not a neutral cultural exchange,” but an “institutional relationship with real implications.”



“The idea that formal ties with Chinese government-linked entities are purely symbolic does not reflect the reality many of us face,” he said in an interview, noting that as a Hong Konger in exile himself, transnational repression is something his community lives with.


Chan also noted the timing of the potential sister city agreement is “hard to ignore,” given recent evidence of the Chinese regime interfering in Canadian affairs, such as the Chinese embassy in Canada publicly criticizing Canadian MPs for visiting Taiwan, and court documents revealing Chinese police operations targeting people living in Canada.

China’s ambassador to Canada, Wang Di, drew criticism from MPs for remarks he made in an interview with The Globe and Mail in late April, saying that it would be “hurtful” to Canada-China ties if Canadian parliamentarians conduct “any official engagement” with Taiwan. China views self-ruled Taiwan as a breakaway province, despite never having governed the island nation, and seeks to bring the island under its control.

 

Conservative MP Michael Chong arrived in Taiwan this week to meet with Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te, Taiwanese ministers, and officials at the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei in defiance of China’s warning. Chong said in a statement ahead of his trip that Canada is a “sovereign and independent country” that does not “take direction from a foreign government” about where parliamentarians can travel internationally.

 

After Chong’s arrival in Taiwan, a spokesperson for China’s embassy in Ottawa said Chong’s visit sent “a wrong message of support for Taiwan independence” and repeated that China opposes any countries maintaining formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan.


Chan also referred to court documents filed in April during the trial of former RCMP officer William Majcher that revealed at least 25 Canadian residents were targeted by Chinese police under an “anti-corruption” program used to repatriate Chinese nationals abroad. They may have been forced to return to China against their will to face punishment for CCP-alleged financial crimes, with some potentially facing life imprisonment or a death sentence, according to the documents.

 

A 2022 report by Spain-based NGO Safeguard Defenders found at least 102 secret Chinese police stations in 53 countries, including at least five in Canada. A House of Commons report in 2023 also confirmed “at least five” illicit police stations were operating secretly in Canada.

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service has said the Chinese police stations serve in part to collect intelligence and monitor Chinese dissidents living in Canada as part of a “broader transnational anti-corruption, repression and repatriation campaign.”

 

‘Totalitarian Nature’

The Epoch Times contacted the City of Prince George for comment on the rights groups’ concerns, but didn’t hear back by publication time.

The city said in the news release last week that if a sister city agreement is proposed, it would be presented to city council for consideration. Chan said that before Prince George city council moves forward, there needs to be a national security review and consultation with affected diaspora communities.


“This should not stop at Prince George,“ Chan said. ”Municipalities across Canada should be taking a hard look at existing sister city relationships, scrutinizing the role of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Toronto, and closing the gaps in foreign interference protections that have left communities vulnerable.”


In recent years, an increasing number of cities have terminated their sister city agreements with Chinese counterparts amid growing public awareness of the CCP’s interference and influence activities, such as municipalities in the Czech Republic, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

Hongkonger groups have previously spoken out against sister city agreements with the Chinese regime, urging 163 cities in seven countries, including Canada, to sever such relationships in a “Global Joint Campaign” in 2022.


The groups said the CCP uses sister city agreements to directly interfere in the sovereign affairs of other countries and to influence and promote CCP propaganda. One group also said China’s “notorious record” of human rights violations and non-compliance with international treaties highlights its “totalitarian nature,” but many countries “choose to turn a blind eye for economic benefits.”


A U.S. lawmaker introduced legislation last week to ensure sister city agreements serve the interests of the United States, not the “strategic ambitions” of foreign adversaries like the CCP, noting such agreements can expose communities to “foreign espionage, economic coercion, and ideological influence operations.”


In 2020, U.S. lawmakers sounded the alarm about the threats posed by sister city programs with the CCP, warning local U.S. governments to be vigilant against CCP influence and espionage activities. Then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Chinese People’s Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries, which manages China’s sister city relationships, is part of China’s United Front Work Department, the CCP’s official overseas propaganda and foreign interference tool.

An Ontario School Board again says “No” to the “Pride” Flag

Last year, LGBTQ activists brought in heavyweights like former Premier Kathleen Wynne, Mississauga City Councillor Alvin Tedjo, and the Peel Regional Police in the hopes of pressuring the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board to fly the “Pride” flag.  

The DPCDSB refused. In fact, they voted 9-1 to ensure flag neutrality inside and outside schools and board offices. It was a much better year for students because of it.

But we knew the activists weren't done.  


This time around, at a meeting on Tuesday night, they recruited former Mississauga mayor/former leader of the Ontario Liberal Party Bonnie Crombie, Toronto Catholic District School Board trustee Markus de Domenico, and First Vice-President of the Toronto Elementary Catholic Teachers Robert Bauer as star players in their line-up of pro-"Pride" flag delegates.  


The meeting was only held as lobbying from the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association prompted Education Minister Paul Calandra to instruct the board supervisor to order the DPCDSB trustees to re-examine their neutral flag policy, which has been in effect for well over a year now.  


And once again, despite enormous political pressure, the trustees almost unanimously refused.  

My trustee, Brea Corbet (Mississauga Wards 9 & 10), the only dissenter, put forward a motion to fly the “Pride” flag and she didn’t get a single seconder. No seconder, no vote. Status quo remains.

Fr. Paweł Ratajczak, OMI, delegated on his behalf at this meeting, reading a statement explicitly supporting the DPCDSB’s current flag policy.  


To quote just a couple of portions of it:  

“A Catholic Board cannot contradict the faith dimension when important decisions such as these are to be made—it would mean not being in communion with the Catholic Tradition and belief system. It is logical that Catholics should not promote symbols that are antithetical, contrary or not in conformity with the Catholic faith . . . We need to look for symbols within the Catholic Tradition which convey what needs to be conveyed without running the risk of confusing the youth and of presenting morality in a way that is disconnected from the truths of Christ and the Church. Why would we even turn to and rely on secular symbols to communicate what we as Catholics believe and stand for especially in such crucial and critical issues as the quest for identity and the sense of belonging?” 


The statement concludes:  

“…the Cardinal Archbishop of Toronto unequivocally supports the current flag raising policy of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board. It is imperative that we show deference and respect to his leadership and his ministry and accept this position as our own.”  


The Cardinal’s voice made all the difference.  

As I argued in my own delegation, if the provincial government is only asking trustees to reconvene because it recognizes this matter as denominational, then there is nothing to reconsider, because the Church has made its position clear.  

The trustees were really given a choice—submit to their spiritual authority or to earthly authority. They overwhelmingly chose correctly.

What’s next? 

One of the meeting’s delegates, Rob Bauer, is First Vice-President of the Toronto Elementary Catholic Teachers and a member of the TCDSB’s "2SLGBTQ+ Advisory Committee." He was asked by Trustee Brea Corbet if His Eminence had ever weighed in on the TCDSB’s flag policy. He responded, “Not that I can recall.” 

Surely, he knows that the Archdiocese of Toronto opposes the flying of the “Pride” flag, but nobody should be able to say “Not that I can recall” ever again.  

No trustee, especially, should have any wiggle room when it comes to this issue.  

The Catholic school boards in Toronto and Durham still fly the “Pride” flag and others still celebrate “Pride” month.  


The Archdiocese’s direct intervention in the DPCDSB has proven to be pivotal. Thanks to it, over 70,000 students in Ontario’s second largest Catholic school board will be protected from ideological indoctrination this June. We need to encourage similar intervention in other boards, and from other bishops. 

Maybe “Catholic” trustees in other school boards will continue to defy the Church, but I think it would be much, much harder to do so if they had to look the Cardinal or their respective bishop in the eye as they did so.

Also, Ontario municipal elections are rapidly approaching.  

When it was apparent the LGBTQ activists weren’t going to get their way at the end of the meeting on Tuesday, they started chanting “Shame!”  

They said “Vote, vote, vote!” and “Get them out!” 

If they’re going to be politically engaged, we need to be too. We need candidates of our own to run. Look at what the DPCDSB trustees were able to accomplish. Imagine we had good, solid trustees on every board.

According to court filings referenced in the article, the former official reportedly obtained the gold and large amounts of foreign currency through requests tied to “work-related expenses” before investigators later found much of it missing from government storage.


The piece also describes broader allegations involving falsified military and educational credentials, fraudulent pay claims, and luxury items allegedly connected to the investigation. A lot of attention in the article centers around accountability, oversight, and how someone with high-level clearance could allegedly move that amount of wealth without raising earlier alarms. The case reportedly triggered an internal CIA investigation before being referred to the FBI.

New Jersey Democrat backed by Ilhan Omar volunteered for charity later tied to Al-Qaida funding

Adam Hamawy, a New Jersey Democratic candidate for the U.S. House, worked for an Illinois-based charity in Bosnia during the 1990s that both the U.S. government and the United Nations later identified as a clandestine funding source for Al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden. The Daily Caller News Foundation reported that Hamawy described his role at Benevolence International Foundation in a 1996 interview, and that his campaign declined to respond to requests for comment.


Hamawy has collected endorsements from Rep. Ilhan Omar, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. When questions about his past surfaced earlier this month, he dismissed critics in comments to InsiderNJ: "As a Muslim, they're always going to find something to attack."

That framing, casting legitimate scrutiny as bigotry, deserves pushback. The issue is not Hamawy's faith. The issue is a pattern of associations with organizations and individuals linked to terrorism, and the willingness of prominent Democrats to look the other way.

Benevolence International Foundation and the Al-Qaida connection

Benevolence International Foundation operated out of Illinois and presented itself as a humanitarian relief organization. In 1994, a U.S. envoy under President Bill Clinton visited a BIF director and "praised BIF and its efforts to provide humanitarian relief." The foundation worked alongside the World Health Organization, the UN's International Children's Emergency Fund, and the Red Crescent.


That public face concealed something darker. A 2002 federal investigation uncovered extensive communications between BIF and Al-Qaida, financial transactions, and internal records describing a plan to "establish a base for operations in Europe against al Qaeda's true enemy, the United States." Both the U.S. government and the United Nations designated BIF as a clandestine funding source for Al-Qaida and bin Laden. The foundation was eventually shut down.


Hamawy worked for BIF in approximately 1994, the same year the Clinton envoy praised the organization. In a 1996 interview with the Newark Star-Ledger, later cited by Jewish Insider, Hamawy described his assignment:

"I worked in Sarajevo for 10 days and then the rest in Zenica, a large regional center in central Bosnia. We went out to hospitals around the area and in the mountains to check what supplies they needed and we tried to deliver them."


No evidence has emerged that Hamawy personally communicated with Al-Qaida operatives or participated in anything beyond humanitarian work for BIF. That distinction matters. But the broader question, why a man now seeking a seat in Congress chose to associate with BIF, and what due diligence he performed, remains unanswered. His campaign offered no response to the Daily Caller News Foundation's inquiry.


The Blind Sheikh connection

BIF is not the only troubling association in Hamawy's past. In 1996, he served as a translator and defense witness for Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, the convicted terrorist mastermind known as "the Blind Sheikh", during Abdel-Rahman's federal trial in New York. Abdel-Rahman and his co-defendants were convicted for their roles in the deadly 1993 World Trade Center bombing and other terrorist plots.


Hamawy addressed his involvement with Abdel-Rahman in comments to The Philadelphia Inquirer. He acknowledged that the sheikh "did speak about violent things that I think most people disagree with and most people condemn, including myself." But he quickly added: "But it wasn't the only thing he spoke about."


That qualifier is worth pausing over. The man Hamawy helped defend was not accused of jaywalking. He was convicted of masterminding attacks that killed Americans. The suggestion that his violent rhetoric was only one part of a broader message does not inspire confidence in the judgment of someone who wants to make federal law.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, who endorsed Hamawy, has faced her own sustained scrutiny over questions of accountability. The DOJ investigation into Omar confirmed by Vice President JD Vance underscores that the congresswoman's own conduct remains under official review.


A biography built on contrasts

Hamawy's defenders will point to a résumé that includes genuine service. He was born in Egypt, served as a doctor for the U.S. military during the Iraq War, and responded to the aftermath of 9/11. The New Jersey Globe reported that he helped save the life of Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth after she sustained severe injuries in Iraq.

More recently, Hamawy worked as a medical responder in Gaza following the 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel. That work, too, is part of his public record.


None of it erases the questions. Military service and medical heroism do not immunize a candidate from scrutiny over his voluntary associations with a convicted terrorist and a charity that funneled money to Al-Qaida. Voters are entitled to weigh the full picture, not just the parts the campaign highlights in press releases.

Omar's endorsement of Hamawy fits a pattern. The Minnesota congresswoman has drawn repeated questions about her own accountability, including her decision to skip a fraud hearing that a Minnesota state lawmaker demanded she attend.


The endorsement problem

The list of Democrats lining up behind Hamawy reads like a roster of the party's progressive wing: Omar, Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, and unnamed other "high-profile Democrats." Each of these figures has built a brand on moral authority. Each has demanded opponents answer for their associations, their donors, their past statements.

The standard should apply in both directions. Did any of these endorsers review Hamawy's work for BIF before putting their names behind him? Did they ask about the Blind Sheikh trial? Or did they simply see an Egyptian-born, Muslim, Iraq War veteran and decide the biography was too useful to question?


The broader context in Omar's home state raises its own concerns. A sixth member of the Mohamed family recently pleaded guilty in the massive Minnesota nutrition fraud case, a scandal that has exposed deep failures of oversight in the very communities Omar represents.


What voters still don't know

Several questions remain open. The specific congressional district Hamawy is seeking has not been identified in reporting. The exact timeline of BIF's closure and formal designation as a terror-financing entity is unclear. The scope and content of Hamawy's testimony on behalf of Abdel-Rahman have not been detailed. And no reporting indicates whether any law enforcement or regulatory body has ever investigated Hamawy himself.


Those gaps matter. They do not prove wrongdoing on Hamawy's part. But they also do not exonerate him, and his campaign's silence, no response to the Daily Caller News Foundation's request for comment, does nothing to fill them.

Hamawy's preferred response to scrutiny is to call it anti-Muslim bias. That framing shuts down questions rather than answering them. It treats legitimate vetting of a congressional candidate as an act of prejudice. And it asks voters to accept a remarkable set of associations, a charity that funded bin Laden, a trial appearance for the architect of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, without so much as an explanation.


The real question for Democrats

The federal court records speak for themselves. BIF maintained extensive communications with Al-Qaida. BIF conducted financial transactions with Al-Qaida. BIF possessed records describing a plan to build a European operations base targeting the United States. These are not allegations from political opponents. They are findings from a federal investigation, documented in court filings.


Hamawy chose to work for that organization. He chose to testify for a convicted terrorist. He now wants a seat in Congress, and the progressive establishment wants to help him get there.


Voters in New Jersey deserve a candidate who answers hard questions instead of hiding behind accusations of bigotry. And the Democrats endorsing him owe the public an explanation for why none of this gave them pause.

When you dismiss every question as prejudice, you guarantee that the real answers never come.

An ex-government official with top security clearance has been arrested after federal agents found hundreds of gold bars in his Virginia home worth at least $40 million, according to court records obtained by USA TODAY.

Many Florida homeowners would see their property tax bills eliminated or severely cut under a plan released Wednesday by Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis is calling for the Legislature to convene Monday to consider his proposal, which if they approve it would appear on the November ballot.

A Student Was Censored for Her Charlie Kirk Tribute

Imagine waking up to this message from your high school:"Vandalism to school property. Law enforcement has been contacted and we are cooperating with the investigation."And now, imagine that message was aimed at YOU—because you got permission to paint your school's "spirit rock" with a message commemorating Charlie Kirk and the legacy he left to Christian youth.

That's exactly what happened to Gabby Stout. She had expressly asked permission to paint the message—and the school had given it.But the next day, after she and her friends painted the rock with the messages "Freedom 1776" and "Live Like Kirk—John 11:25," school officials sent out a school-wide email accusing them of vandalism and launched a criminal investigation.


And it got worse. The school punished Gabby—tried to silence her voice—yet officials had no problem supporting other student causes, including Black Lives Matter and protests against immigration enforcement. The hypocrisy couldn't be clearer.

Of course, Gabby and her friends had NOT committed vandalism. So the school quietly closed the investigation without an apology—and released a statement claiming they had never accused or investigated her at all.


A few days later, the school unveiled a "Revised Spirit Rock Speech Code" that only allowed "positive school spirit" and messages that "uphold the inclusive values of our school community.

They are also using this data for “predictive policing.” You can be profiled before you do anything wrong

 

Flock is not owned or operated by Palantir. Flock says they don’t share data with Palantir.  However, Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund invested in Flock, and Flock’s data can integrate with platforms like Palantir’s for law enforcement analytics. Thiel co-founded Palantir, which does predictive policing and data fusion
