Gateway Pundit files for bankruptcy after election conspiracy defamation lawsuits:

The Gateway Pundit, an influential website that regularly peddles falsehoods and conspiracy theories, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as it faces multiple defamation suits.

In a statement on The Gateway Pundit website, Jim Hoft, the outlet's owner, blamed the "progressive liberal lawfare attacks against our media outlet" and admitted no wrongdoing. The company did not respond to emails from NPR seeking more information.

The website, founded by brothers Jim and Joe Hoft, is facing a lawsuit from Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea "Shaye" Moss over false claims about election fraud in the 2020 U.S. presidential election that resulted in their harassment. Protect Democracy, the nonprofit representing Freeman and Moss, declined to comment on the bankruptcy announcement. The Gateway Pundit also settled a lawsuit from a former official at voting technology company Dominion Voting Systems, which was targeted by election fraud conspiracy theories in 2020.


In the statement, Hoft said the bankruptcy is a way to consolidate lawsuits against the outlet. But Chapter 11 bankruptcies are meant to help small businesses restructure, said Mark Bankston, an attorney at law firm Farrar & Ball who represented parents of slain Sandy Hook school students in a defamation suit against conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his outlet Infowars.

"It's not actually meant to be used as a tool of what they seem to be using it for," Bankston said. "This process is being used by defendants who are facing libel lawsuits. And in particular, it tends to be right-wing, extremist publications or individuals."



The Gateway Pundit's parent company's bankruptcy filing shows that the company has between $100,001 and $500,000 in liabilities and between $500,001 and $1 million in assets.

Jones also filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after Sandy Hook families were awarded more than $1 billion in damages against him in 2022. Because of the drawn-out proceedings of the bankruptcy, the families are still waiting for compensation.

The election workers who sued The Gateway Pundit also sued former Trump campaign attorney Rudy Giuliani, who filed for bankruptcy in December after a $148 million judgment against him.

 

"There's been a lot of hope recently in our legal system that certain plaintiffs are going to be able to find justice through the courts." Bankston said. "Unfortunately, these bankruptcy proceedings sort of temper that hope. There is a lot of legal process in this country that is designed to assist those who have a lot of resources to avoid paying their just debts."

The Gateway Pundit has already been accused of delaying legal proceedings against it. It takes time, resources and lawyers who can afford to wait to get paid to support these legal proceedings, Bankston said.

Even with delays, the costs to sites like Infowars and The Gateway Pundit from lawsuits are meaningful, Bankston said.

"Jurors are not happy when someone takes private people and spreads these lies about them and ... turns their world upside down," he said. "Juries will not forgive that when powerful people do that."

The Gateway Pundit used to enjoy massive online traffic via social media like Facebook. Like other outlets, however, it has seen its traffic drop off amid declining news consumption and industry changes including Facebook owner Meta deprioritizing news.

Two Burger King Workers came across one scene that will make you sick:

This was not a normal shift for two fast food workers.

They ended their day as heroes.

Burger King workers rescue children from mother and drooling, meth addict illegal alien boyfriend

Two employees at a Burger King in Taylorsville, Utah, knew something was up.

The two regularly gave free food to a disadvantaged family, but this time they reported to police that they “appeared to be homeless and in need of assistance,” telling police that the couple’s four-year-old child appeared to be suffering from starvation and asked for help.

 

After the two Burger King employees called the police, officers encountered a sickening sight.

Police found 36-year-old illegal alien Rodolfo Martinez-Avila “sitting at the table, face down, with drool running out of his mouth.”

According to the police report, Martinez-Avila “seemed confused by simple commands and statements, made continuous rapid movements and fidgets, and generally seemed unable to clearly articulate himself.”

 

Home life for the children is even worse than anyone thought 

Thanks to the tip from the Burger King employees, police rescued two small children showing obvious signs of physical abuse.

“The 4-year-old and 6-month-old were taken into the back of an ambulance,” police officers stated. “Officers documented numerous injuries on the 4-year-old, including bruising on both arms, his torso, and his back, a scratch on his stomach, and the aforementioned bloody nose. The 6-month-old appeared to be malnourished and had possible injuries.”

Police said the mother told officers that she witnessed Martinez-Avila abuse the children but never stepped in to stop him after Martinez-Avila threatened her.

The mother reported she “has other locations to live and stay but she declines to go there.”

 

Police then arrested the mother – who admitted taking meth – on suspicion of child abuse and the Blaze reported that police arrested Martinez Avila on “investigation of aggravated child abuse, intoxication, and possession of drug paraphernalia.”

Martinez-Avila was an illegal alien who the government had previously deported, but he returned to the United States anyway.

 

Americans were left wondering how a violent, drug-addicted illegal alien, who allegedly beat children, was allowed to roam about the United States.

Local police weren’t alerted to this situation as it’s the federal government’s job to track illegal aliens and deport them.

But the Biden administration was asleep at the switch.

 

It was only thanks to alert Burger King workers that two children were spared physical abuse – and potentially worse – at the hands of a meth head who couldn’t even sit up straight at a table and wipe the drool off his mouth.


It shouldn’t be up to fast food workers and local police to rescue these children as they never should have been in this abusive environment in the first place.

Illegal aliens shouldn’t be in this country, but illegal aliens who take drugs and hit kids should be the first ones deported.

 

The fact that Joe Biden allowed illegal aliens like this to roam the streets of small towns like Taylorsville – population 60,000 – strikes many Americans as a dereliction of duty.

Top Big Name Trump Allies Hit with BRUTAL Retaliation:

Rudy Giuliani, five other former Trump campaign officials, and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows were all indicted on Wednesday by an Arizona grand jury on criminal counts pertaining to the Trump campaign’s protest of the 2020 election results. In addition to listing Trump as a “unindicted co-conspirator,” the indictment also contains criminal allegations of conspiracy, fraud, and forgery.

 

In addition, state senators Jake Hoffman and Anthony Kern, former Arizona GOP chairwoman Kelli Ward, and Arizona’s RNC committeeman Tyler Bowyer are among the eleven other Republicans who participated as alternate electors and have been charged. Alternate electors have frequently been referred to as “fake electors” by leftist prosecutors, who then accuse them of felony fraud and forgery.

 

This has happened in Michigan, Nevada, and Arizona as well. Defendants there will be charged with felonies related to conspiracy, fraud, and forgery.

“Defendants and unindicted coconspirators schemed to prevent the lawful transfer of the presidency to keep Unindicted Coconspirator 1 in office against the will of Arizona’s voters,” the 58-page indictment reads.

Stephen Miller, the founder of America First Legal, criticized the most recent indictment and questioned why Republican prosecutors have not yet taken any action. “Democrats are still using brutal law enforcement tactics to imprison their political rivals who are innocent. Miller stated in an X post, “Those who pursued legal transparent public remedies are being hauled away from their families and facing decades in jail. Dem officials who violated election law in 2020 should be arrested, not those who pursued legal remedies.”

Trump Just Got Monumental 2024 News He Was Waiting For:

According to a number of recent surveys, the majority of Americans think that former President Donald Trump, rather than an increasingly weak-looking Joe Biden, can better handle the issues that matter most to them going into the November election.

 

For instance, a recent NBC News survey revealed that the majority of voters’ main concerns going into the election are inflation and personal financial matters. Most respondents think that Trump would be more qualified than the current president to deal with this issue.

When asked which candidate they would rather see handle the issue of growing costs, 52% of respondents said Trump rather than Biden. Even though inflation has become a signature of Biden’s administration, only thirty percent of likely voters stated they thought he could handle the issue more effectively.

The survey also found that the crisis at the southern border is the second most important issue to voters, another area where Biden was found to trail Trump.

When asked about their opinion of the president’s handling of immigration and the crisis at the border, a whopping 69% of respondents said they disapprove of Biden’s handling of the crisis.

Regarding respondents’ current opinions of Trump’s handling of the immigration situation, no question was asked in the April NBC poll. But according to an NBC survey conducted in January, 57% of participants supported the former president’s strategy on the border, while only 22% supported Biden’s.

 

Nevertheless, the survey also revealed that Trump would only defeat Biden by 2 points, 46% to 44%, if the election were to take place today.

“The results are the most recent in a string of polling that shows voters are not only most worried about the border and rising costs, but that they trust Trump to be the best presidential candidate to handle the issues,” Fox noted. “Recent Fox News statewide surveys in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin mirrored the results that Trump is the preferred candidate to handle the issues of immigration and the economy over Biden.”

Furthermore, according to a recent Axios/Ipsos survey, 42% of Latino voters believed that Trump would be good for the economy, while only 20% thought the same about Biden. When it came to immigration, 29% of Latino respondents gave Trump a favorable rating, while 22% gave Biden a higher rating.

 

When discussing the survey results on Sunday, NBC’s Steve Kornacki and Meet the Press host Kristen Welker expressed some astonishment at the network’s response.

“We talk about the erosion for Biden, and now you start to see it. Look at these numbers,” Kornacki said while reacting to the latest survey. 

 

When questioned about the respondents’ physical and emotional wellbeing, Trump also did well. When it came to Trump’s cognitive capacity, 45 percent of respondents were more confident in him than in Biden (20 percent of respondents supported Biden).

 

Of those surveyed, 47% chose Trump and 36% chose Biden as the candidate who was the most “competent and effective.” When we conducted a poll on this topic in 2020, the results were essentially the complete opposite. Kornacki pointed out that Biden had a roughly 10-point lead over Trump, which caused Welker to exclaim, “Wow!”

“And again, same with handling a crisis. Biden had the edge over Trump. And how about this? It’s the former president, the current president. We don’t really see matchups like this. Well, now we can measure it,” Kornacki continued.

 

Those surveyed also chose Trump over Biden when asked which of the two had a better record as president.

“And again, Trump outpacing Biden on that front. And again, you’ve got to mention this one too. Necessary mental and physical health. We asked this four years ago. It was a wash. It’s now a clear liability for Joe Biden,” Kornacki told viewers. “So, these are all troubling numbers for Biden.”
