Trudeau’s Labour Minister fleeing Liberal Party:
Labour Minister Seamus O’Regan is poised to announce that he will not seek re-election in the next federal race and will resign from his cabinet role, according to CTV.
O’Regan, a long-time close friend of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who was part of his wedding party in 2005, was initially elected to the House of Commons in 2015 and was re-elected in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections.
The declaration would take place amid the Trudeau Liberals’ slide in public opinion polls and growing speculation about yet another possible cabinet reshuffle this summer. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet is scheduled to convene on Friday.
The move would be the latest among a string of Liberal MPs to announce they’re quitting or not seeking re-election. In January, David Lametti, the former Justice Minister and Attorney General of Canada, said he was resigning from his position, effective February 1st. And, in December 2023, longtime Liberal MP and former Minister, Carolyn Bennett, announced she was also resigning.
The Trudeau Liberals remain way down in the polls compared to the Poilievre Conservatives. A recent poll from Abacus Data reveals that 61 per cent of Canadians would prefer a change in government in the next federal election.
Another cabinet shuffle?
Last year, Trudeau pulled off a massive cabinet shuffle after his polling numbers first started to fall. The shuffle did nothing to help, though, and he continues to remain about 20 points under the Opposition Conservatives.
After last year’s cabinet shuffle, one Liberal MP told the Toronto Star it was like putting “lipstick on a pig.”
In 2017, Trudeau appointed O’Regan to the cabinet as minister of veterans affairs. O’Regan has since held various portfolios, including indigenous services, natural resources, labour, and seniors.

Chrystia Freeland’s much-discussed future
Good morning. It’s been a week of whispers concerning Trudeau loyalist Chrystia Freeland – more on that below, along with a B.C. coroner’s second thoughts on drug decriminalization and the successful clean-up of the Seine. But first:
Freeland, Carney and the Finance dilemma
The complaints about Chrystia Freeland started last week, when sources within the Prime Minister’s Office told The Globe and Mail they felt the Finance Minister wasn’t quite selling an upbeat economic message. Perhaps it was time to replace the messenger: One source said that Mark Carney, former governor of both the Bank of Canada and Bank of England, had been floated as a potential replacement.
Is this reportedly chilly relationship between Freeland and Trudeau new, or is it historic?
The chill is new and must be extremely disheartening for Freeland. The Deputy Prime Minister has been the Prime Minister’s most able and loyal cabinet minister, sealing the deal on the European Union and North American free-trade agreements, then replacing Bill Morneau when he resigned as finance minister in August, 2020.
But The Globe reports that there is dissatisfaction with her performance. Trudeau is having conversations both with her and with Mark Carney. Freeland has every reason to be alarmed that Trudeau could replace her as finance minister with Carney.
Speaking of Morneau, some of the details in The Globe’s reporting about Freeland echo his last days in Finance – the whispers about tensions, the vague assurances of the PM’s “full confidence,” even the Carney cameo.
Sources within the PMO said that Freeland has been ineffective in selling the government’s economic policies. Is that fair, or is she getting thrown under the bus?
To my mind, whenever a government maintains it is having trouble communicating its policies, the problem is with the policies, not with the communications. For example, Freeland isn’t failing to sell the government’s decision to increase the capital gains tax. The increase just isn’t popular.
What would a change at the top of Finance do?
The deep unpopularity of this government, reflected in the polls and in the recent by-election loss in Toronto-St. Paul’s, stems in part from a lack of popular support for the Liberals’ policies in these difficult times.
Carney himself criticized the May, 2024, budget, saying: “It was a budget about fairness, as we know, and it wasn’t necessarily a budget about growth and resilience – and we need both.” Replacing Freeland with Carney would signal Trudeau agreed with that criticism. It would signal a new determination to get the government’s fiscal house in order and to pivot from expanding social programs to improving productivity.
What do you think will happen next for Freeland? Not long ago, people were saying she could be next in line for the Liberal leadership.
Freeland was touted as Trudeau’s successor because of her achievements in foreign affairs and international trade. In Finance, however, she has been less sure-footed, continuing to rack up deficits in the tens of billions of dollars and trying – but so far failing – to ease the shortage of affordable housing for younger workers. And she has an unfortunate and no doubt unintended tendency to appear to talk down to people. My guess is she will not remain in her current portfolio after a cabinet shuffle expected later this summer, whatever happens with Carney.
Okay, so what’s in it for Carney? Why might he consider taking over this portfolio?
The all-important questions are whether Carney wants the job of finance minister in a government that must go to the electorate in the fall of 2025, or wants to lead a post-Trudeau Liberal Party that could be consigned to years in opposition.
Should he want either of those things?
Only Carney knows the answer to that.

Introduction
The book of Revelation is a first-century Jewish document that recognizes Jesus as Emperor of worldwide Emprire. Most people find it hard to understand. It speaks of heavenly visions and refers to prophecies many have tried to unlock and understand - with many different interpretations.
When we decided to write a book on Revelation, we knew we could not endeavor to write a comprehensive verse-by-verse commentary on the entire book. Maybe someday we will devote sufficient effort to such an aspiration. However, unfazed by our inability to cover the entire book, we felt that we could at least establish a new trajectory for re-reading Revelation. We desire to show how this book can be read and present some overlooked (but important) caveats.
That is what this book is about.
We begin by taking the first six chapters and slowly walking you through our reading of those chapters. We try to move systematically verse by verse—establishing a clear method of reading Revelation in a way it is rarely read today.
Rather than be comprehensive and provide detailed academic footnotes for our research, we decided to write the book in an uncluttered style accessible to everyone. Most of the works we reference are other ancient books (original sources), some Greco-Roman and historical writings, and occasional sources on Christian tradition.

Democrats introduced bill to eliminate Donald Trump’s Secret Service protection
Former President Donald Trump miraculously survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, after a massive security breakdown.
A shooter was able to position himself on a building with a clear line of sight of the former President.
Trump was hit in the ear, another man was seriously injured, and retired fired chief Corey Comperatore was tragically murdered.
The Secret Service’s failures are coming into focus after the tragedy but Democrats wanted to make the situation even worse.
Representative Bennie Thompson (D-MS) introduced a bill in April that would remove Trump’s Secret Service protection.
The Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act would deny Secret Service protection to anyone convicted of a felony.
Thompson made it clear that the bill was targeted at Trump.
“Unfortunately, current law doesn’t anticipate how Secret Service protection would impact the felony prison sentence of a protectee – even a former President,” Thompson said. “It is regrettable that it has come to this, but this previously unthought-of scenario could become our reality.
Therefore, it is necessary for us to be prepared and update the law so the American people can be assured that protective status does not translate into special treatment – and that those who are sentenced to prison will indeed serve the time required of them.”
Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tapped Thompson to chair her sham January 6th Committee.
Democrats want to put Donald Trump in danger
Thompson introduced the bill while Trump’s trial was going on for 34 felonies pulled out of thin air by Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Trump was convicted in May on every charge in the rigged case.
It appeared at the time the bill was introduced that Trump would be sentenced this summer.
But the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on Presidential Immunity caused Democrat Judge Juan Merchan to delay sentencing until September.
The bill stripping all Secret Service protection from Trump had no chance of passing a Republican-controlled House but opened a window into the mindset of Democrats.
Democrats have spent eight years ginning up hysteria over Trump with overheated rhetoric about him.
But they complain that Trump and supporters are dangerous extremists.
The Pennsylvania campaign rally confirmed what kind of danger that Trump is in.
Even proposing sending Trump to jail with Secret Service protection is a not-so-subtle way of inviting the worst to happen to him.
One of Thompson’s staffers who worked in his Mississippi office posted on social media that she wished the Pennsylvania shooter didn’t miss.
The staffer was eventually fired after a delay and enough outrage poured in.
But Thompson never condemned her remarks.
Democrats tell on themselves with their actions when it comes to political violence and rhetoric.

fter the complete and abject failure of the Secret Service in stopping the attempted assassination of our next President of the United States, one would expect that there would be an investigation, maybe even more than one.
But watching the news over the last few days has made it painfully clear that the investigations and the investigations of the investigators are to be never-ending. And despite assurances to the contrary, no one organization seems to be leading the way. Furthermore, whatever happened is being swept up into some classified dark hole, never to see the light of day.
The headlines from the past couple of days speak volumes:
The DHS leads the way:
Looks like the DHS Inspector General is investigating the Secret Service over their failure. Right? Well, that is weird, given that the United States Secret Service (USSS) is a federal law enforcement agency that operates under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). They are one and the same.
Essentially, that means that the same agency that caused this huge security failure will be investigating themselves.
However, it isn’t just the DHS that is investigating the security failures of the Secret Service.
But then, maybe the FBI is leading the investigation?
No… Wait!
Should the Biden administration investigate itself?
The Biden administration has also launched an investigation. Talk about a self-licking ice cream cone!
INVESTIGATING THEMSELVES !!!
The House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle and has also launched an investigation.
A few things come to mind with this.
The truth is a local police officer had been on the roof already and when threatened by the shooter, chose to fall off. So, the slope and height of the roof just wasn’t a cause for great concern by the local police force.
Then there is whole DEI/ESG notion coming from the Secret Service Director that we are all equal and interchangeable. That President Trump’s life is no more expendable or important than an agent’s. In my way of thinking, this goes against every principle of an elite security force.
In all this madness, what is clear is that there is no grand plan to all of this. It is all just more Keystone Cops.

Thurs. 18 July 2024 Bank of England plunged into chaos, Grace Piercy, reporter: The Bank of England has been plunged into chaos as it warns of house buying ‘delays’. A “global payments issue” has hit the Bank of England’s CHAPS service, one of the largest high-value payment systems in the world. Both high street banks and international banks use the system to make large payments, with it processing around £350bn a day. CHAPS can also be used by people spending lots of money – up to millions of pounds – on items such as cars, boats and properties. The Bank of England has said that the issue is causing delays to high-value and time-sensitive payments, including some house purchases. “We are mindful of the impact this is likely to have and are working closely with a third-party supplier, industry and other authorities to resolve the issue as promptly as possible,” it says. It is currently not clear how many payments have been impacted by the issue with CHAPS. Retail payment systems and cash machines have not been affected. Sky News has reported that a cyber incident has been ruled out by the bank.
