Dr. Phil McGraw educated the hosts of "The View" on Monday about the harm COVID lockdowns brought on schoolchildren and teenagers.
While discussing his forthcoming book, Dr. Phil connected the advent of the smartphone to high levels of "depression, anxiety, loneliness, and suicidality" among children and teenagers...
"They stopped living their lives and started watching people live their lives."
Those problems were exacerbated by COVID lockdowns, Dr. Phil explained, pointing out that the same government agencies that track these problems among American youth were the "same agencies" that "shut down the schools for two years."
"Who does that? Who takes away the support system for these children? Who takes it away and shuts it down?" he asked. "And by the way, when they shut it down, they stopped the mandated reporters from being able to see children that were being abused and sexually molested and, in fact, sent them home and abandoned them to their abusers with no way to watch, and referrals dropped 50% to 60%."
Sunny Hostin was the first co-host to interject and defend the lockdowns. She was quickly followed by Whoopi Goldberg.
"There was also a pandemic going on, and they were trying to save their lives," Hostin told Dr. Phil.
"They were trying to save kids' lives," Goldberg defended.
"Not schoolchildren," Dr. Phil shot back.
Ana Navarro then took her chance at Dr. Phil, asking a question that prompted a reality check from Dr. Phil.
"Are you saying no schoolchildren died of COVID?" Navarro asked.
"I'm saying it was the safest group. They were the less vulnerable group," Dr. Phil responded. "And they suffered and will suffer more from the mismanagement of COVID than they will from the exposure to COVID. And that's not an opinion — that's a fact."
The audience loudly applauded Dr. Phil's answer.
Dr. Phil is right.
Young people, especially teenagers and children, were the least likely to die from COVID-19.
But that didn't stop politicians and bureaucrats from shutting down schools. Now, nearly everyone agrees the lockdown policies are responsible for widespread learning loss, a deficit for which the "experts" have yet to find a solution.

GAVI’s latest crusade aims to silence meme creators, who they claim proliferate so-called misinformation regarding vaccine science.
In a post recently published on the GAVI website, GAVI claims, “If you think memes are simply online images of cute cats and celebrities with funny captions, then you might be surprised to learn that they can have a more sinister function. Our research shows that memes form part of a highly sophisticated strategy to spread and monetize health disinformation.”
Adding, “Memes may appear trivial, but they should be taken seriously. Dismissing them as harmless jokes is to grossly underestimate their influence – and bolsters their power to spread potentially harmful health messages.”

Liberals table promised 'Online Harms' Censorship Legislation
According to the new legislation, victims of "hate speech" could be compensated up to $20,000, and a new stand-alone hate crime offence would be added to the criminal code allowing for penalties of up to life imprisonment.
The Trudeau Liberals have tabled their "online harms" bill after years of stalled negotiations and failed legislative bids.
Bill C-63 proposes added protections for Canadian users, who are "exposed to harmful content at increasing rates," according to a government briefing.
"Canadians want action; users and victims need better tools to have a safer online experience," it reads, with particular emphasis on protecting children from sexual exploitation.
The legislation also seeks to "better address and denounce hate propaganda" and provide recourse to victims of hate. It proposes amendments to the Criminal Code and the Canadian Human Rights Act.
According to the new legislation, victims of hate speech could be compensated up to $20,000, and a new stand-alone hate crime offense would be added to the criminal code allowing for penalties of up to life imprisonment.
Three new bureaucracies will be created as part of the new criminal code laws and new human rights code provisions, including a digital safety commission, a digital safety ombudsman and a digital safety office.
The Cabinet in June 2021 introduced Bill C-36, An Act To Amend The Criminal Code, that proposed $70,000 fines for legal content deemed "likely to foment detestation or vilification." Among the categories of harm identified by Parliament then included 'hate speech' and terrorist content.
A Technical Paper and Discussion Paper published the following month pondered a Digital Safety Commissioner to investigate anonymous complaints, conduct closed-door hearings and block websites, reported Blacklock’s Reporter.
However, Bill C-36 died on the order paper when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called a snap election that August. He pledged new legislation within 100 days of his new mandate, but that promise fell through.
On February 14, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau renewed that promise in response to NDP leader Jagmeet Singh during Question Period. Bill C-11 received Royal Assent last April 27, but remained boggled down by public consultations.
