Confidential information from the RCMP and FBI allege Majcher collaborated with another former RCMP officer, Kenneth Marsh, to support the Chinese Ministry of Public Security

William Majcher, 60, allegedly used his contacts in Canada to help China "intimidate an individual outside the scope of Canadian law."

Canadian officials have repeatedly warned of ongoing Chinese intelligence activities in the country.

Targets are said to include members of parliament and Chinese dissidents.

China has strongly denied the allegations.

In a statement, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said that Mr. Majcher, a native of Hong Kong, "allegedly used his knowledge and his extensive network of contacts in Canada to obtain intelligence or services to benefit the People's Republic of China".

Mr. Majcher now faces two criminal counts: preparatory acts for the benefit of a foreign entity and conspiracy. Both charges fall within Canada's Security of Information Act.

The RCMP said that the investigation against Mr. Majcher, who appeared in court via video call on Friday, was launched in autumn 2021. He has another court appearance scheduled next week.

An RCMP spokesperson, Tasha Adams, told Radio-Canada that Mr. Majcher was gathering information about the unnamed individual because Chinese officials wanted to target the person.

A profile of Mr. Majcher's on an online speakers' directory shows that he moved to Hong Kong in 2006 to work in the banking industry after more than 20 years specializing in money laundering and financial crime prosecutions at the RCMP.

The identity and nationality of the alleged target remain unclear. Ms Adams said, however, that the alleged foreign interference was not related to Canadian politics or elections.

It comes amid growing concern in Canada over alleged Chinese espionage activities.

In May, Canada's government expelled a Chinese diplomat over foreign alleged interference in Canadian affairs.

The following month, Canadian police opened an investigation into allegations that China sought to intimidate a member of parliament and his family - one of more than 100 inquiries authorities are carrying out into foreign meddling.

Last year the RCMP arrested a public utility worker at Hydro-Quebec and charged him with spying for China.

Authorities have also sounded the alarm over foreign interference in Canada's 2019 and 2021 elections, which reportedly included undeclared cash donations and secret funding from Chinese diplomatic officials to candidates.

In June, Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning called the Canadian allegations "groundless slander and defamation".

Canada's concerns over Chinese espionage are similar to those of the United States government, which has repeatedly accused China of intimidating and spying on dissidents based in the US.

According to the FBI, the bureau opens up a new China-related counter-intelligence case every 12 hours.

As of early this year, more than 2,000 cases were open.

Armed Texas man serves up smoking hot justice on assailant who beat elderly patron unconscious at BBQ restaurant: Police:

An armed Texas man turned the tables on a violent assailant who beat an elderly patron unconscious at a BBQ restaurant, according to police.

Around noon on Aug. 14, a man entered Woody’s Smokehouse in Centerville, Texas. The man allegedly became aggressive and harassed several customers at the barbecue restaurant, which was caught on surveillance video.

The agitator – later identified by police as Kevin Craig Anderson from Houston – reportedly went to the restaurant's restroom and attacked an elderly man. He beat the old man unconscious and continued to assault him while he was on the floor, according to police.

A man came to the elderly patron's aid, but then Anderson then assaulted the good Samaritan. He too was knocked to the ground and Anderson allegedly continued to batter him. The man who was attacked had a license to carry. The apparent good guy with a gun acted in self-defense and shot Anderson two times, police said. The armed man shot Anderson in the right arm.

The wounded Anderson fled the BBQ restaurant. Police found Anderson in his vehicle on the shoulder of a highway.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office said in a statement:"He was transported by helicopter to St. Joseph emergency room in Bryan and then later transported to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston to be treated for his injuries."

The elderly man was also rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office did not say that the shooter would be charged.

This case is being investigated by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers.

Diana Wood, Woody's Smokehouse co-owner, told KBTX, "Prayers for my team and customers that were involved would be greatly appreciated. We are thankful to law enforcement for the fast service and the capture of the attacker."

"I'm thankful for the blood of Jesus that I pray daily over our team, our customers, our community, and the team of praying employees that unit with me each day in agreement for protection," she continued.

“As we are reflecting, we asked ourselves what could have been the outcome if those prayers and cover was not implemented," Wood said. "Praises to God for the covering of everyone. If I ever had something to preach it would be today and it would be now. Cover your family, your friends, your work, and your school with the blood of Jesus before you walk out of your house each day."

No one expected him to run for President a second time when he became the oldest inaugurated President by a significant margin back in January 2021.

Rumors have been flying around in Washington, D.C. that Joe Biden isn’t actually going to be making it to the nomination for the Democrat Party to run for a second term as President of the United States.

And now there’s international sources saying that they are hearing the same thing.

The Telegraph reported on an anonymous source that has supposedly shared with foreign politicians that Joe Biden will be bowing out before the Democrat primary season begins.

Who else could be replacing Joe Biden though? It’s not like the Democrats have a deep list of likeable people that they could slot in to run against Republican juggernauts like Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis.

Well, one name stands above the rest. That’s Michelle Obama.

A source says that in conversation with a foreign politician, it emerged that their government assumes Joe Biden will not be the Democratic nominee in 2024. Joe will pull out before the first primaries; it will be too late for a grassroots candidate to enter the fray; an establishment stooge will be crowned at the convention. And the name of that lucky winner? Michelle Obama.

The author of the piece for The Telegraph, Tim Stanley, says that he has been hearing the same rumors from sources that he has in the UK as well.

He says that anytime the Biden administration engages with foreign governments, they all feel like he isn’t actually going to run in 2024.

This anecdote confirms what I’ve heard from UK sources, too: when governments engage with Biden they feel they are dealing with the face of an administration but not always the person in charge. Were the Democrats to drop him from their presidential ticket, the world would understand.

Apparently, the plan was originally going to be to have Kamala Harris take up the torch for Joe Biden after the 2020 election.

But that has turned out to be an awful idea as Kamala Harris remains one of the most disliked high-profile politicians in modern American history. Harris running for the Democrats in 2024 would be a beautiful disaster. If only we were so lucky, right?

Instead, they are allegedly looking to pivot to a candidate who could regain some of their “Obama magic” from 2008-2016 that they could find in Michelle Obama.

Whether or not she would be enough to handily beat Republican primary frontrunners like Trump or DeSantis remains to be seen.

But there’s no doubt that she would be a wildcard that is likely a big upgrade for the Democrats compared to the aging Joe Biden who is falling out of grace with the American people fast.
