Indigenous contracting program went years with no ‘after-the-fact’ audits despite calls for more oversight:
Despite calls for increased oversight, the federal government has gone years without launching an after-the-fact audit of any of the companies that benefit from an Indigenous procurement program, according to new information obtained by The Globe and Mail.
Since 2016, Indigenous Services Canada has approved four such audits under the program and all of those were launched within the past two years amid heightened scrutiny of federal procurement practices. The value of government contracts awarded under the program has risen sharply to $862-million in the 2022-23 fiscal year, up from $170-million five years prior. Ottawa has also said it awarded $1.6-billion in contracts to Indigenous businesses in the 2022-23 fiscal year through the procurement program and other categories.

Using the name of Jesus to promote death
The First Unitarian Church of Dallas does not like the “misinformation” being pushed by crisis pregnancy centers.
Apparently helping women choose life and showing them abortion is not their only option is “misinformation.”
So to combat the life-saving pregnancy centers, First Unitarian Church of Dallas launched their own pregnancy center called “The Truth Pregnancy Resource Center” (TPRC).
And while their center offers things like sonograms and adoption resources . . .
. . . it also gives women resources to teach them how to get out-of-state abortions. T.J. FitzGerald is the “minister of community care and engagement” at the church and defends his church’s actions on helping women kill their babies.
FitzGerald said, “When someone comes through our doors, and they have access to the internet and are aware they can travel, they should not be journeying through that process alone,” KERA News reported.
Unconscionable.
But FitzGerald thinks it is “compassionate” to help connect women to out-of-state abortions if that’s the “choice” they want to make.
As if choosing to kill an unborn baby is a harmless “choice”.
But this is what happens when a left-wing ideology infiltrates a local church.
The radical pro-abortion agenda continues to harm women even more who think the church is there to help them.
But this pro-abortion church is proud of their actions.
On their website, they boast about TPRC claiming the opening “emphasizes its commitment to non-judgmental, gender-affirming care, and reproductive justice outreach.”
A shameful act of betrayal
When a scared pregnant mom is looking for hope – and help – she often turns to the local church.
Sadly, if she turns to First Unitarian Church in Dallas, she’ll get just the opposite.
A local church should be on the front lines of protecting life.
But this wicked church is exploiting vulnerable moms and helping them kill their babies – claiming it is in the name of Jesus.
It’s one thing for leftists to push abortion.
While it’s tragic and wrong – they truly don’t believe a baby is a life – and they certainly aren’t pretending to be Christian while promoting abortion.
It’s unknown how many women will become victims of the “Truth Pregnancy Resource Center”.
The only “truth” with this center is they are not really pro-woman – they are pro-abortion and ramming it through under a banner of deception.

Jack Smith Just Dropped Bombshell Admission After Getting Busted/Exposed in a Huge Lie:
The team led by Special Counsel Jack Smith is acknowledging that after the FBI obtained it, important evidence in the case involving the former president Donald Trump’s sensitive materials was changed or corrupted. Smith’s side has also acknowledged that it lied to the court for a while.
Smith’s team subtly acknowledged that the document order in some of the boxes that were taken from Mar-A-Lago was changed or jumbled in a court filing that was made public on Friday. In the end, this resulted in two distinct chronologies: a digitally scanned chronology and a physical chronology based on the box contents.
“Since the boxes were seized and stored, appropriate personnel have had access to the boxes for several reasons, including to comply with orders issued by this Court in the civil proceedings noted above, for investigative purposes, and to facilitate the defendants’ review of the boxes,” Smith’s team wrote.
“There are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans,” the filing continued.
Smith’s team discreetly acknowledged in a footnote that it had misled U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon’s courtroom about the issue by initially asserting that the evidence had not been altered after it was confiscated.
“The Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court,” the footnote said.
It is anticipated that a key component of Trump’s legal defense in this lawsuit will be how the boxes are arranged. Trump’s legal team has contended that his aides sent the documents to his house without accessing them or realizing they contained secret material, and that the records were kept in chronological order in the White House on the days that Trump received them.
A full year prior to the raid, it was disclosed that the federal government had sent many pallets filled with “document boxes” from the Trump Administration to the former president’s Mar-a-Lago home.
Two of the six pallets that were supposed to be moved were sent straight to Mar-a-Lago from an Arlington, Virginia facility, according to a Federalist story. The move was a part of a bigger operation that included moving federal government property and equipment required to close down the Office of the Former President.

Federal Court stuns the entire Nation with Game-Changing Ruling on Mail-in Ballots:
Mail-in ballots completely changed the 2020 election cycle. But they’ve been under intense scrutiny in recent months.
And now a federal court has stunned the entire nation with a massive ruling on mail-in ballots.
There’s no understating how wild the 2020 election cycle truly was. Everything was flipped on its head as there was a pandemic panic at its height when Americans were supposed to be going to the ballot box to vote for their preferred candidates for the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate, and the White House.
We say ‘supposed’ to go to the ballot box because tens of millions of Americans were being told that they really don’t need to or even should go to the ballot box to vote in person because you just might catch that nasty virus that the Left was trying to say was way worse than it actually was.
Instead of mail-in ballots being used for very specific cases where someone literally could not vote in person because of disabilities or maybe being deployed for service to the military, Americans who would normally just vote in person were being encouraged to just stay indoors and vote from their couch.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense was naturally concerned that this could be abused by bad actors. The Left and the Fake News Media outlets, of course, went to bat for the “security” of mail-in ballots like their lives depended on it. They say that mail-in ballots are just as secure as in-person voting, despite no election official seeing any person cast the ballot from home and sticking it in the mail.
Today, mail-in ballots are heavily scrutinized, particularly in battleground states where the difference of just a few thousand votes amongst millions can decide which candidate gets a win.
In Pennsylvania, a lawsuit has been making its way through the courts arguing that by requiring mail-in ballots to have signed dates, there may be votes that are not counted that are legitimate. However, most agree that, of course, mail-in ballots need valid signed dates to be counted. Otherwise this system could so easily be abused and it would be a mess.
In March, a low federal court decided that the requirement for mail-in ballots to have signed dates is fair and reasonable. It simply makes sense. The decision was appealed by those on the Left who say this is unfair.
However, they just got hit with bad news as the appellate courts aren’t even willing to hear the case at all. They’re wiping their hands clean of this nonsense, as the lower court’s decision makes perfect sense.
The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld its decision regarding the requirement for voters to write dates on mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania, a pivotal battleground state. In March, the court ruled that the state’s mandate for dates on mail-in ballots does not violate the Civil Rights Act. Despite calls for reconsideration, the court declined to rehear the case en banc, affirming that ballots lacking the correct date on the outer envelopes will not be counted.
Judge Susan Paradise Baxter previously ruled that ballots arriving on time, even without a proper date, should be counted to avoid violating the Civil Rights Act. However, the appeals court disagreed, asserting that the Act pertains solely to the determination of voter eligibility, not ballot processing procedures. Judge Thomas Ambro emphasized that Pennsylvania law mandates the dating of mail-in ballot envelopes, deeming non-compliance as rendering the ballot invalid.
“In the above-entitled case having been submitted to the judges who participated in the decision of this Court and to all the other available circuit judges of the circuit in regular active service, and no judge who concurred in the decision having asked for rehearing, and a majority of the judges of the circuit in regular service not having voted for rehearing, the petitions for rehearing by the panel and the Court en banc, are denied,” the appellate court wrote in its decision.
Pennsylvania, a crucial battleground in both presidential and congressional elections, is anticipated to be fiercely contested in 2024. With former President Donald Trump currently holding a slight lead over President Joe Biden in the RealClearPolitics average, and considering the narrow margin of his defeat in 2020, every aspect of the electoral process, including ballot requirements, is under scrutiny.
“The Pennsylvania General Assembly has decided that mail-in voters must date the declaration on the return envelope of their ballot to make their vote effective,” Judge Thomas Ambro said in his opinion.
The Honorable Judge Thomas Ambro said that this is a simple matter of complying with law that’s already been clarified and interpreted properly by the Pennslvania state Supreme Court Justices.
“The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania unanimously held this ballot-casting rule is mandatory; thus, failure to comply renders a ballot invalid under Pennsylvania law,” Ambro went on to write.
With the 2024 election proving to be a critical and extremely close race in Pennsylvania, these decisions for increased election security are more important than ever. Anyone who argues otherwise just simply doesn’t care about secure and fair elections.

Scientists keep finding 'Heavenly Pits' in China that are teeming with life and long lost DNA:
Deep in the heart of China's karst landscapes, scientists have discovered immense sinkholes that appear to contain ancient forests that are teeming with life, according to the Debrief.
These sinkholes are known as karst tiankengs — and they appear to be a hotbed of genetic diversity and home to endangered species like the Manglietia aromatica.
A recent study was published in the March issue of Forests, which appeared to provide evidence that these sinkholes have conserved long lost DNA.
In the introduction to the study, researchers stated: "China has the most extensive distribution of karst terrain globally, covering an area of 344 km2. The unique development process of karst landforms has resulted in the formation of distinctive landscapes, including peak clusters, peak forests, caves, and karst sinkholes."
"Currently, there are approximately 300 known tiankengs worldwide, with over half of them located in China, earning it the title of the ‘world karst tiankeng kingdom'."
Karst tiankengs are very large sinkholes that were formed by the dissolution of soluble rocks such as limestone. These rocks are pervasive throughout regions like Guangxi, China, per the report.
While these sinkholes could be considered natural wonders, they are also considered ecological hotspots, home to endangered species of plants.
In 2022, the UNESCO Courier reported that the Dashiwei "tiankeng is the largest of its kind and yet has only been known to the outside world since 1998. It is part of the Dashiwei Tiankeng Group, a rare geological wonder with 29 sinkholes distributed in an area of 20 square kilometers. The scene down there was stunning: an underground pristine forest with no trace of human activities, with 40 metre-high ancient trees and a group of endangered wild plants from the times of dinosaurs."
While looking down into one of these colossal sinkholes, one is not simply greeted with stony rock but a lush forest teeming with life.
Tang Jianmin — an associate Researcher at Guangxi Institute of Botany — said: “The scene down there was stunning: an underground pristine forest with no trace of human activities, with 40 meter-high ancient trees and a group of endangered wild plants from the times of dinosaurs."
The Debrief reported that the process begins when water acidified by carbon dioxide blends into the soil, slowing wearing away at the underlying limestone. Over a long period of time, the creation of these sinkholes ultimately leads to tiankengs, which is Mandarin for "heavenly pits."
There are 300 tiankengs in the world today, but 200 of them are located in China.
