About our Electricity...

Three items caught my attention in the paper.

1. Developer in the Canadian oil-patch didn't need any government subsidies or tax incentives to buy Pioneer Natural Resources for $60 billion.

“Demand for oil is not going away as quickly as people assumed,” Tsubouchi said, adding that in the wake of the Exxon-Pioneer merger, he wouldn't be surprised to see an uptick in merger and acquisition activity north of the border.

"They're spending US$60 billion today," Tsubouchi said. "They wouldn't do that if they didn't see at least a 10-to-15-year window for oil.


2. Compare that to the small fortune needed to develop alternative electric vehicles.

In 2023, Canadian governments signed agreements with battery and car makers such as Stellantis NV, LG Energy Solution Ltd., Volkswagen AG and Northvolt AB to build three battery plants in Canada, with governments offering the companies performance incentives worth billions of dollars in an effort to match incentives provided by the United States.

The Biden administration, despite knowing that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the largest funder of the terror group Hamas, nevertheless decided to relax sanctions on Iranian oil exports. In 2020, Iran's economy had a reported trade deficit of $3.45 billion; by 2023, according to former US Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe:

"Look, it's not even just this $6 billion, which clearly is going to further enrich Iran. It's closer to $60 billion. Just weeks after the US gave Iran's ruling clerics a fungible $6 billion line-of-credit as an effective ransom for hostages, the Iran-backed Hamas on October 7 launched a massive attack on Israel, killing more than 1,300 Israelis, mostly civilians, and wounded thousands more. Iran's leadership and their Lebanese terror proxy Hezbollah have been praising Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel.

Iran provides roughly $100 million a year to Palestinian terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and $700 million a year to Hezbollah. Thanks to the Biden administration, the sudden influx of billions of dollars into the regime's treasury will help the regime to provide more funds, arms and rockets to its terrorist proxies, including Palestinian armed groups, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi, meanwhile, has already announced that his country will use the new $6 billion "wherever we need it."

This has caused outrage in the US House of Representatives and Senate. Senator Marsha Blackburn said in a statement:

"Just weeks ago, the Biden administration handed over $6 billion to Iran, and today, innocent Israelis were murdered by Iran-backed terrorists. We must continue to support our strongest ally in the Middle East and their right to defend themselves against these unprovoked, horrific attacks."


Senator Rick Scott, said:

"This is exactly why so many Americans and Israelis were disgusted to see President Biden give the Iranian regime $6 billion last month. Every dollar given to Iran funds terrorism in the Ayatollah's quest to destroy Israel. Iran is behind today's invasion and everyone must say that as we stand with our Israeli allies."

Brig. Gen. (res.) Amir Avivi, a former deputy commander of the Israel Defense Forces' Gaza Division, warned on July 24, 2023: "For the last year and a half, Iran stated clearly that its main strategy is to make the Samaria region another Gaza." The Iranians, he added , are "pouring money and smuggling weapons into the region. They are supporting Hamas and the PIJ [Palestinian Islamic Jihad] and other factions within the Palestinian Authority."


As the Iranian regime has been sponsoring, funding and arming terror groups on Israel's borders, the Biden Administration has been carefully looking the other way.


Iran's regime, since its Islamic Revolution of 1979, has repeatedly made its policy towards Israel clear: it wants Israel to be wiped off the map. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who enjoys the final say in all of Iran's domestic and foreign policies, proclaimed to the youths of Iran that they will soon witness the demise of both Israel and American civilization. This announcement was confirmed on Khamenei's official website:

"You young people should be assured that you will witness the demise of the enemies of humanity, meaning the degenerate American civilization, and the demise of Israel."

The current commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, also made the strategy of the Iranian government vehemently clear:


"Our strategy is to erase Israel from the global political map. And, it seems that, considering the evil that Israel is doing, it is bringing itself closer to that."

As a tirade Khamenei posted on Twitter straightforwardly said: "the Zionist regime will perish in the not so far future."

So far, the Biden administration, in a welcome about-face, has been superb about promising to help Israel defend itself. It is to be hoped that this policy will continue, in Ukraine as well.

Sadly, however, to the Biden administration, the glaringly central role of Iran, without which Hamas would be able to do nothing, remains nowhere in sight.

Former Canadian Military Officer describes ‘abuse of power’ behind mandatory COVID jabs

In an exclusive interview, Serge Faucher told LifeSiteNews that his career met an abrupt end when Chief of Defense Staff General Wayne Eyre imposed a COVID-19 vaccine mandate on the entire CAF on October 8, 2021.

GREELY, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — A former member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) has revealed his story of the abuse and coercion he faced from the chain of command when he declined the COVID-19 jab.

Serge Faucher of Greely, Ontario, served the CAF honorably for over 39 years. He reached the rank of Major and was an Aerospace Engineering Officer posted to the Chief of Air Force Staff.


In an exclusive interview, Faucher told LifeSiteNews that his career met an abrupt end when Chief of Defense Staff General Wayne Eyre imposed a COVID-19 vaccine mandate on the entire CAF on October 8, 2021.

“This is not about the vaccine” he said. “In the end this is about the abuse of power and these guys used coercion to push people like me out.”

Faucher said when the order came to get the jab he was threatened with an 5(f) release, something he viewed as a stain on an otherwise spotless career.

“My grief is being pushed out before I wanted to. Not on my own terms. Denied a promotion and losing, at a minimum, three years’ salary. I was paid six figures. I lost a minimum of 360 thousand dollars.”

Faucher said this was not the first time he was ordered to take treatments by the chain of command. In 1990 he received pills that were supposed to help with the effects of nerve attacks.

“The Warrant Officer in charge would make us open our mouths and verify we actually swallowed the pills,” he told LifeSiteNews. It didn’t take long: within a day or two I started getting very itchy. To this day, 32 years later, I am still itchy.”

His past experiences, as well as “red flags” in the information sessions on the newly developed COVID vaccine, made him skeptical of blindly following orders this time.

“They said its safe for pregnant women… Anyone that’s ever been pregnant knows you shouldn’t even be drinking tea or coffee, for crying out loud.”

Faucher said the constant use of the phrase “safe and effective” without any citing any sources eventually led to him declining the shots. However, this was not a simple process, he said.

“Everybody was forced to go there and decline in person.”


Choosing to remain private, Faucher says he did not enter his vaccination status into the system the CAF was using to keep track.

“They went ahead without telling me, and they put it in anyway” he said. “Another major in the shop put my attestation in.”

Faucher is one of hundreds of plaintiffs in the lawsuit that began in June against the Crown. Having read the stories of his fellow plaintiffs, he says what happened to him is only one of the mild cases of abuse.

“I thought my fellow soldiers were better than that, and they’re not,” he said. “I’m sure there’s a lot of good people, but there’s a lot of good people who knew things weren’t on the up and up, and yet they still went along with the whole charade.”

He noted the CAF is severely understaffed, saying, “This is why so many are leaving.”

Despite seeing a need for recruitment, Faucher says the structural issues within the armed forces are too great to be ignored.

“I would never recommend a young person to join the CAF, which is a 180 degree turn from what I used to think,” he said.

Faucher expressed disappointment in the leadership of the CAF which he believes has fundamentally changed in a few short years.

“My greatest disappointment is to see so many supervisors directly abuse their subordinates when it came to the mandates and forget their humanity. We had folks that were told they deserved to be shot and killed if you don’t take the vaccine.”

This lawsuit is one of two mass tort cases against the Crown for its actions against CAF members during the pandemic. Faucher is a participant in the first case which has over 300 plaintiffs and has progressed past the statement of defence. The second case features another 128 plaitiffs and is still waiting for a statement of defence from the crown. Both trials are still “years away” according to the plaintiffs’ lawyer, Catherine Christensen.

Tucker Carlson Unleashes On Neocon Warmongers

Extremists Nikki Haley, Dan Crenshaw, and Lindsey Graham were called out by former Fox News show host Tucker Carlson for their crazy, dangerous, and out-of-control comments in response to the recent attacks on Israel.

“What are we seeing here? This is not a sensible way to lead.” Carlson said this in reaction to Haley’s call to “finish” the Iranian people, saying she was acting like a child and that her temper tantrum was ignorant, cocky, and bloodthirsty. Haley blamed the Iranian people for recent attacks on Israel that were mostly attributed to the Islamic terrorist group Hamas.


“Now tell me what would ultimately happen to the US if we went to war with Iran and began blowing up their buildings. Lindsey Graham has no idea what it would be like. That’s not how Lindsey Graham thinks about it. He doesn’t have any kids and is almost 70 years old. He does not care,” he claimed about Graham’s proposal for a “coordinated plan between the U.S. and Israel to force Iran completely out of the oil industry by demolishing their refineries” with bombs.


“Congressman Dan Crenshaw of Texas used social media to express his support for a ‘war that would end all wars,’ as if there were such a thing. There isn’t really such a thing, though. Wars lead to more wars. The effects are worse and last longer when there is more strife.” Carlson said that Crenshaw’s latest X posts looked like they could have been taken from John McCain’s diary as they were so similar to WW1.

Israel has imposed a “complete siege” on the West Bank in reaction to terrorism that is being carried out by Hamas members.


“I have issued an order—Gaza will be completely besieged,” Yoav Gallant, the Israeli defense minister, stated this week. “We are in a fight against barbarians and are going to react accordingly.” From the time of the Hamas attack until now, Israel has been bombing what it calls “strategic” Hamas targets in Gaza.

Hamas is now saying they will kill citizens and show the awful footage to everyone in the world.

“If our citizens who are currently safe in their homes are attacked with no warning, we are going to respond by killing our civilian hostages and broadcasting it through audio and video,” a radical group spokesperson named Abu Obaida declared.


Everything about this situation has become a nightmare. We Americans should be very careful about getting involved with this potentially explosive situation. The neocons want to jump right into this war, which would put Americans in great danger. Additional U.S. troops will be killed needlessly because of this careless foreign strategy.

‘Unconstitutional’:

Canadian Supreme Court severely limits Trudeau gov’t anti-pipeline bill


'In my view, Parliament has plainly overstepped its constitutional competence in enacting this designated projects scheme,' Chief Justice Richard Wagner wrote in the ruling.

OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — The Supreme Court of Canada has declared that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government’s Impact Assessment Act, dubbed the “no-more pipelines” bill, is mostly “unconstitutional.”

On October 13, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada Richard Wagner announced that the court voted 5-2 to find Ottawa’s 2019 Impact Assessment Act (IAA), previously known as Bill C-69, largely unconstitutional.

“The balance of the scheme … is ultra vires (beyond the powers of) Parliament and thus unconstitutional,” Chief Justice Richard Wagner wrote in the ruling.

Essentially, the 2019 law allowed the federal government to intervene heavily on the approvals process of provincial natural resource projects, so that before approving projects, province’s were forced to align them with the Liberal’s social and “climate change” priorities.

Wagner ruled that the process in Sections 81 to 91 of the IAA were constitutional and could be separated out from the rest of the bill.

Sections 81 to 91 refer to projects under federal authority on federal lands, or outside Canada. Therefore, those projects would fall under federal jurisdiction and are not unconstitutional for the federal government to regulate.  

However, Wagner declared that the majority of the bill involves “designated projects,” which the federal government cannot regulate under the nation’s Constitution.

“In my view, Parliament has plainly overstepped its constitutional competence in enacting this designated projects scheme,” Wagner wrote.

“Environmental protection remains one of today’s most pressing challenges, and Parliament has the power to enact a scheme of environmental assessment to meet this challenge, but Parliament also has the duty to act within the enduring division of powers framework laid out in the Constitution,” he added.

The decision is a hard-fought victory for Alberta, which previously labeled the IAA as the “no more pipelines” bill under then-Alberta Premier Jason Kenney, and which has fought against the bill since its passing in 2019.

In 2022, the Alberta Court of Appeal ruled in favor of the province’s grievance, determining that “The federal government’s invocation of concerns about the environment and climate change that all provincial governments and Canadians share is not a basis on which to tear apart the constitutional division of powers.”

Beyond the IAA, Alberta has been consistent in its fight against Trudeau’s push for increased energy regulations, with Kenney’s successor Danielle Smith repeatedly refusing to submit to the Liberal government’s demands, warning that Canadians could freeze in the winter if new “clean” electricity and energy regulations are enforced.  

Late last month, Smith announced that she is preparing to use her province’s Sovereignty Act to fight the electricity regulations if the Trudeau government does not relent.

The draft version of the federal government’s “Clean Electricity Regulations” (CER) states that there will be billions in higher costs associated with a so-called “green” power transition, especially in the resource-rich provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, which use natural gas and coal to fuel power plants.        

Business executives in Alberta’s energy sector have also warned that the Trudeau government’s fast-paced “green” transition could lead to unreliability in the natural resource rich province.

In addition to Smith, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has likewise promised to fight back against Trudeau’s new regulations, saying recently that “Trudeau’s net-zero electricity regulations are unaffordable, unrealistic and unconstitutional.”   

“They will drive electricity rates through the roof and leave Saskatchewan with an unreliable power supply. Our government will not let the federal government do that to the Saskatchewan people,” he charged.  

The Trudeau government’s current environmental goals – in lockstep with the United Nations’ “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” – include phasing out coal-fired power plants, reducing fertilizer usage, and curbing natural gas use over the coming decades.   

The reduction and eventual elimination of the use of so-called “fossil-fuels” and a transition to unreliable “green” energy has also been pushed by the World Economic Forum (WEF) – the globalist group behind the socialist “Great Reset” agenda – an organization which Trudeau and some of his cabinet are involved.

Danielle Smith vows to ensure mask mandates don’t return to Alberta:

'We recognize that AHS currently has the autonomy to make this decision. It is my expectation that no Albertan will be denied access to health care,' Danielle Smith stated.

CALGARY, Alberta (LifeSiteNews) — Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has announced that she is committed to not bringing back “province-wide mask mandates,” after the province’s health system re-introduces mandatory masking in some facilities. 


On October 11, Alberta Health Services (AHS) mandated masks in acute care facilities; however, Smith declared that while she respects AHS’s autonomy to make the decision, she will not allow anyone to be denied health care.

“I believe that if Albertans want to wear a mask, they should. AHS has announced their decision to implement a new masking protocol in AHS acute care facilities,” Smith told The Epoch Times.

“We recognize that AHS currently has the autonomy to make this decision,” she continued. “It is my expectation that no Albertan will be denied access to health care.”


She also declared that she is dedicated to ensuring that “province-wide mask mandates” do not return.

According to AHS’s “Use of Masks to Prevent Transmission of COVID-19 Directive,” zone executive leadership and site leadership of acute care centers are given the autonomy to determine mask mandates for AHS staff, doctors, midwives, students, volunteers, and workers in hospital laboratories.

AHS further states that “enhanced measures” could be put in place which would mandate masks for patients, visitors, family members, and designated support persons in emergency departments in acute care facilities and hospitals.

The mask mandate also applies to workers, family, support persons, and visitors when the Medical Officer of Health enforces masking during a COVID outbreak, by staff with COVID symptoms or a positive COVID test, or in contact with a “severely immunocompromised individual.”


AHS’s decision to reinstate masking comes as the province removed mask mandates just four months earlier, in June. Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba are currently the only provinces in Canada that do not mandate COVID shots for healthcare workers.

Alberta’s decision comes on the heels of several Ontario hospitals who reintroduced masking in September.

The mask mandate came after weeks of mainstream media publishing stories alleging that COVID is returning this fall. In August, the government-funded Canadian Broadcasting Cooperation (CBC) published 18 COVID-related stories in just two days.   


Many Canadians have responded, warning that the hospital-only mandates will lead to masks and lockdowns returning in full force before year’s end.   

The mask mandate is being imposed despite overwhelming evidence that masks are not effective in preventing the spread of COVID and can cause a sundry of health issues, as LifeSiteNews has reported. 

Among that evidence is the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s (CDC) September 2020 admission that masks cannot be counted on to keep out COVID when spending 15 minutes or longer within six feet of someone, and a May 2020 study published by the peer-reviewed CDC journal Emerging Infectious Diseases that “did not find evidence that surgical-type face masks are effective in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza transmission, either when worn by infected persons (source control) or by persons in the general community to reduce their susceptibility.”   


In May 2021, another study found that, though mandates were largely followed, usage did not yield the expected benefits. “Mask mandates and use (were) not associated with lower SARS-CoV-2 spread among U.S. states” from March 2020 to March 2021. In fact, the researchers found the results to be a net negative, with masks increasing “dehydration … headaches and sweating and decreas[ing] cognitive precision,” and interfering with communication, as well as impairing social learning among children.  


More than 170 studies have found that masks have been ineffective at stopping COVID and have instead been harmful, especially to children.
