There’s an old adage within the world of business that the consumer votes with their dollar, ultimately dictating which companies, and dare I say ideas, thrive or die.
Yet investment firm BlackRock has taken this to an entirely new level. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink is actively using your hard-earned investment dollars to vote in support of his personal social justice warrior goals. Ironically, this is done in the name of “preserving democracy” while Fink actively circumvents the courts, legislatures, and will of the American people to not only dictate national policy from the board room but also change human behavior through a social credit score known as ESG.
Those letters stand for Environmental, Social, and Governance. What it means in reality is “forcing behaviors” through a scoring system completely lacking in transparency, standardization, and even accuracy. Gender may not be fluid, but ESG ratings most certainly are, with subjective purity tests being used to harm the performance and shareholder returns of American firms while simultaneously lifting up questionable Chinese assets.
Of course, Fink’s argument is that companies with high ESG scores will perform better financially over time because they are behaving responsibly in relation to climate change. This, in turn, is supposed to make them less risky investments, especially for retirement plans. What it actually means is divesting from fossil fuels and destroying Louisiana’s economy in support of unsustainable renewables that are anything but safe bets for the future.
That’s why on August 4, I joined my fellow attorneys general in addressing this issue as it relates to pension funds, which, according to state law, must be invested only to earn a financial return—not to save the world from a climate emergency that over 1,000 scholars and scientists agree does not exist. Yet instead of focusing on investors’ returns, BlackRock has prioritized “an urgent need to accelerate the transition towards global net zero emissions,” rejoining the Paris Agreement, and forcing the phase-out of fossil fuels, which equate to a quarter of Louisiana’s gross domestic product.
Fortunately, Louisiana’s Treasurer John Schroder eventually agreed with my assessment and legal counsel related to the State’s fiduciary duties, and on October 5, he notified Fink that Louisiana would be divesting from the woke investment management company. This meant pulling $794 million from the fund over the course of this year to protect both Louisiana’s economy and the pensions of those who have placed trust in our ability to invest that money wisely.
Still, Fink does not have his sights set purely on the Pelican State. As a member and avid supporter of the World Economic Forum, he means to transform the entire global economy. Louisiana joining other states in divesting from Fink’s brand of “virtuous” capitalism is a start, but in this David v. Goliath scenario, it’s going to take more of an effort to protect ourselves from the radical agenda of the world’s largest investment firm possessing an arsenal of $10 trillion, which is more than the gross domestic product of every country in the world, except for the U.S. and China.
The truth is, companies like BlackRock quickly amassed enormous power because of a low-cost business model that encouraged investors to take a passive role in saving for their retirement. They are now using that influence to not only destroy the oil and gas industry, but to also change your personal behavior through initiatives that range from racial equity audits to promoting gender as a social construct and encouraging gun-free investments meant to “transform” that industry as well—using your dollars. 💥 💥 💥 DIGITAL DOLLARS is set to go:
LONDON (Reuters) -Financial messaging system SWIFT has laid out its blueprint for a global central bank digital currency (CBDC) network following an 8-month experiment on different technologies and currencies.
The trial, which for the last month has involved both France and Germany's national central banks as well as global lenders like HSBC, Standard Chartered and UBS, looked at how CBDCs could be used internationally and even converted into fiat money if needed.
Around 90% of the world's central banks are now using, trialing or looking into CBDCs. Most don't want to be left behind by bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies but are grappling with technological complexities.
SWIFT's head of innovation Nick Kerigan said its trial, which will be followed by more advanced testing over the next year, resembled a bicycle wheel where 14 central and commercial banks in total connected spoke-like into its main hub.
The idea is that once scaled-up, banks may need only one main global connection, rather than thousands if they were to set up connections with each counterpart individually.
"We believe that the number of connections needed is much fewer," Kerigan said. "Therefore, you are likely to have fewer breaks (in the chain) and you are likely to achieve greater efficiency."
CBDCs are being seen as a step forward as they could effectively be programmed to meet both governments' and individuals' specific needs, although they have also raised concerns about privacy and surveillance.
SWIFT's trial also tested different underlying CBDC technologies known as Distributed Ledger Technologies. The use of various technologies has also been raised as a potential hurdle for rapid global adoption.
There was a separate trial too carried out with Citi, clearing house Clearstream and Northern Trust on 'tokenised' assets - traditional assets like stocks and bonds transformed into digital tokens that can then be issued and traded in real-time.
Some countries such as the Bahamas and Nigeria already have CBDCs up and running. China is well advanced with real-life trials of an e-yuan, while central bank umbrella group, the Bank for International Settlements, has also been running cross-border trials.
SWIFT's main advantage though is that its existing network is already usable in over 200 countries and connects more than 11,500 banks and funds.
The Belgium-based firm has gone from being virtually unknown outside banking circles to a household name this year after it cut most of Russia's banks off from its network as part of the West's sanctions for the country's invasion of Ukraine.
Kerigan said that kind of move could also happen in a new CBDC system but doubted whether it would stop countries joining one.

In places that have banned the needless obscenity of elective abortions, Planned Parenthood could easily open abortion-free Planned Parenthood facilities if baby-butchering represented just three percent of the total. Planned Parenthood does not, though. Planned Parenthood really leaves states that stop providing government financing to abortion facilities. In other words, these infant killers would prefer to shut down completely than cease conducting abortions.

US Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bombers will escort fighter planes from Belgium, Germany, and twelve other nations in yearly nuclear exercises in Europe’s skies on Monday, despite allegations that Russia has expanded the number of strategic bombers along its border with NATO member Norway.
Despite growing concerns that Pres. Vladimir Putin may pursue a genuine nuclear strike on Ukraine, NATO training continues.
According to Reuters, up to 60 aircraft are actively participating in training flights over Belgium, the North Sea, and Britain with American long-range, subsonic, jet-powered combat bombers to practice the deployment of US nuclear bombs positioned in Europe.
Other bombers, refueling planes, and spy planes will accompany the jets.
“Steadfast Noon” is expected to coincide with Moscow’s own yearly nuclear drills, known as “Grom,” which are generally held in late Oct. and test Russia’s nuclear-capable warplanes, submarines, and missiles.
The Western drills, according to NATO, were not spurred by the new concerns with Russia but were just a continuation of training plans.
“The exercise, which will last until Oct. 30, is a regular, periodic training operation that is unrelated to any current global events,” the alliance stated on its website, adding that no live weaponry would be used.
💥 “This exercise contributes to ensuring the organization’s nuclear deterrent stays safe, secure, and efficient,” said NATO spokesman Oana Lungescu.
According to Norwegian journal Faktisk, recent satellite images shows 11 Tupolev aircraft at the Russian airfield Olenya on the Kola peninsula, approximately 60 miles south of the city of Murmansk, according to Newsweek.
The Tu-160 bombers, which can transport cruise missiles and strategic nuclear weapons, have all been involved in Putin’s invasion, which has left his Air Force unable to gain an advantage. [American Examinator News]
