The number of US Customs and Border Protection workers who have committed suicide so far this year has almost eclipsed the total number who took their own life in 2023 — as exhausted agents say the crisis at the besieged southern border is taking its toll.
At least seven CBP employees have committed suicide this year, just one less than the eight who took their own life last year — with more than four months still remaining in 2024, CBP’s former “suicidologist,” Dr. Kent Corso, told The Post.
There were also eight suicides in 2020 and 11 in 2021, ABC News previously reported. CBP suffered its worst year in 2022, when 15 employees took their own life, Corso, who left the agency in May, said.
There are 60,000 CBP employees, including around 19,000 Border Patrol agents.
The licensed clinical psychologist and board-certified behavior analyst, who joined CBP in 2021, said there isn’t one main reason for the distressing spike — but that extra stress at work doesn’t help.
“Law enforcement officers see a ton of death, they experience loss. First responders are exposed to many, many more potentially traumatic events than the general population, which frankly puts them at higher risk for suicide anyway, just all law enforcement,” Corso, who is also a military veteran, said.
“It would be in inaccurate to sort of attribute it to one factor, but certainly a combination of factors, including things like a high operations tempo. We’ve seen migration patterns that have never been seen before in history. So the whole nature of the world is changing, and that’s certainly part of it,” he added.
Since January 2021, under the Biden-Harris administration, more than 8 million migrants have crossed the US-Mexico border, according to federal data.

Since becoming the presumptive Democrat Party nominee, Kamala Harris hasn’t sat for any interviews.
Harris also only took a handful of very easy questions from reporters.
Even though the media is completely in the tank for Harris, her handlers are petrified of her speaking off script in even the friendliest of settings.
That’s because they’ve carefully staged-managed her campaign to keep her only appearing at big rallies that they can hype up with musical acts to make it seem like Harris is the Taylor Swift of politics.
Once Harris begins to talk off script, the American people will see her struggle to contain her word salads and realize Harris is an empty pantsuit that’s the product of a Hollywood-style hype machine.
The levels Harris takes to dodge the press are reaching absurd levels.
Presidents and Vice Presidents travel with what’s known as a protective pool of reporters.
The traveling pool is supposed to document what the President and Vice President do during a day since they work for the American people and the public deserves to know what public servants are up to.
Not Kamala Harris.
Harris’ handlers don’t want even the slightest unscripted press interactions.

Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy broke the scoop that Harris ditched her protective pool to attend an event at her alma mater Howard University.
“And something new tonight. As the presumptive nominee, Vice President Harris is supposed to travel everywhere she goes with a protective press pool. We just learned that she left her press pool behind to attend an event at Howard University yesterday,” Doocy informed Fox News viewers.
Doocy said he asked Harris’ office for comment about why she didn’t want reporters to know what she was up to.
But naturally Harris’ office refused to comment.
“We have reached out to her office,” Doocy added.
“We are awaiting an answer back from them as to why she didn’t want a small group of reporters documenting her trip across town,” Doocy concluded.
Kamala Harris and her handlers are betting they can run an entire campaign of just set pieces where Harris delivers speeches full of vague platitudes so to avoid any scrutiny of the fact that Harris keeps changing her positions to avoid political attacks for her far-left beliefs, such as defunding the police, banning fracking, and decriminalizing illegal immigration.
These policies are all deeply unpopular and, under normal circumstances, would make Harris completely unelectable.
But this is no normal campaign.
And the Democrat Party bet is that by swapping in Kamala Harris so late in the game, they can avoid any questions about where she actually stands on issues.

Despite these calls for a more policy-focused campaign, Vance defended Trump’s unfiltered approach, suggesting that this quality is part of what makes Trump appealing to his base.
“I think one of the things people actually love about Donald Trump in politics is he’s not unwilling to speak off the cuff. He says what’s actually on his mind,” Vance said, adding that policy discussions remain a central focus of the campaign.
As Trump prepares for his upcoming press conference, it remains to be seen how effective his strategy of highlighting Harris’s media silence will be in the long run. While his supporters appreciate his candidness, the broader electorate may be more interested in how each candidate plans to address the critical issues facing the country.

The photo was posted to X by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), who claims to have received the photo from someone in law enforcement.
“The question becomes ‘How in your face was this guy that he was able to just literally carry a rifle around the perimeter, get up on the roof?’” Sara Gonzales of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered” asks.
“You saw him, you took pictures of him, he tried to go through the metal detectors, and he had a range finder and you guys were like, ‘He’s probably just trying to golf,’” she says. “‘It’s not technically a device that’s not allowed, so we won’t detain him, we’ll just let him go. In fact, we’ll just lose total sight of him.’”
“He’s just walking around with a rifle slung around his shoulder like, ‘Nothing to see here,’” she adds in disbelief.

“What was very interesting to me was the bodycam footage of the cop,” Booyens says. “That tells a story where you go, okay, can anyone of y’all maybe radio the former commander in chief and say, ‘Bro don’t go on stage’?”
“That’s what still doesn’t make sense. Why was he allowed to go on stage?” Gonzales agrees.
“I don’t even need to see that picture to be convinced that something nefarious was going on,” Chad Prather, host of "The Chad Prather Show,” adds.

159 Countries Set to Adopt BRICS New Payment System:
Amid the alliance’s continued efforts to create a SWIFT alternative, the economic alliance has sought to create its very own BRICS payment system. It will play a major role in the alliance trade dealings. Specifically, allowing unilateral settlement to be done without the need for the US dollar.
The move is poised to be vital for the bloc and participating nations, and it appears there will be a lot of them. According to one Russian official, there are already 159 countries seeking to adopt the system currently. With a potential launch coming in October, it could have massive global market ramifications.

The past several years have seen the BRICS alliance committed to enhanced de-dollarization efforts. With the impact of Western sanctions on Russia, the move is a clear promotion of local currency and alternative settlement methods. Although many have been skeptical, there is no denying its popularity to this point.
According to Russia’s Central Bank Governor, Elvira Nabiullina, 159 countries are ready to adopt the BRICS payment system when it goes live. Indeed, these foreign participants are looking to explore an expansion to Russia’s System for Transmitting Financial Messages (SPFS) platform.
Nabiullina said the system “is an alternative to SWIFT.” Moreover, she added, “Similar infrastructure exists in some other countries. We are holding discussions on the interaction of such platforms, but here the interest and technical readiness of our partners are important.”

American Airlines has not offered flights to Tel Aviv, Israel since the conflict began in the country in October 2023, and the airline has announced that it doesn’t plan on operating any flights between the U.S. and Israel until the end of March 2025.
The news was first reported on Israel Hayom, an Israeli news site, which reported that they could not book a flight from the U.S. to Israel on both the website and while talking to one of the airline’s customer service representatives. American Airlines has since commented.
“American Airlines has suspended operations to and from Tel Aviv through March 29, 2025,” they wrote. “To provide additional flexibility, we will extend our travel alert allowing customers whose travel plans are impacted by this adjustment to rebook without a fee or cancel and receive a refund. The last announcement, made in February of this year, suggested that the airline had hoped to resume flights between the United States and Tel Aviv sometime in October, but that was entirely dependent on the condition of the ongoing conflict. And those are issues that all Americans can wrap their heads around.
“And those are the two major issues — folks don’t care about all the other stuff as long as what they care about is being addressed. People want to know how they’re going to have more money in their pocket and how they’re going to feel safe,” Charlamagne added.
“When you’re having a conversation and you’re talking about light bills being lower, and you’re talking about groceries being lower, border control, that’s what everybody cares about,” Charlamagne continued.
“That’s not just his base,” Charlamagne concluded.
For nearly ten years, Democrats, the media, and even establishment Republicans have tried to break the bond between Trump and his base.
They’ve tried every hoax in the book to impeach Trump, bankrupt Trump, throw Trump in jail, and even kill Trump.
But the one thing the Washington, D.C., Swamp never considered was the fact that Trump addresses the issues that tens of millions of Americans care about but feel ignored over.
