Quick reminder: A few years ago Trudeau invented a government licence for journalists called the QCJO – Qualified Canadian Journalism Organization. Outlets that get that licence collect payroll subsidies, and their subscribers get a tax break. The licence is handed out by a panel that Trudeau appointed.
Rebel News does not take government money. We never will. So we didn't apply for the money. We applied for one reason: to force the government to say, in writing, whether it thinks we're journalists.
It did. A panel hand-picked by Justin Trudeau's government decided that Rebel News, with reporters in courtrooms, at Parliament and on the streets of every big city in the country, is not "qualified." Meanwhile the newspapers and broadcasters Ottawa approves of collect payroll subsidies, and their subscribers got a tax break that ours were denied.
Now, the courts didn't make their own judgment about us. They deferred to Trudeau’s committee. A committee now decides who counts as a journalist in Canada, and the courts say that's fine.
Today it's Rebel News. The next government can use the same tool on anyone.
I think a normal person would pay the bill, go quiet and stop criticizing the government. That's the rational thing to do. But I'm a free man in a free country, and we don't need
Ottawa's permission to report the news.
So here is the plan. Three things.
1. Pay the bill. Over $100,000. That's the cost of making the government show its hand, and I'd do it again. But it has to be paid, and soon.
2. Review an appeal. Our lawyer, Robert Hawkes, is studying whether we can ask the Supreme Court of Canada to hear the case. We have about 60 days to decide. I'll tell you the moment we do, either way.
3. Get ready for the censorship fights of the Carney era. They're already here. Bill C-9 puts the government's definition of "hatred" into the Criminal Code and lets a judge put conditions on you for something you haven't said yet. Bill C-22 makes it easier for police to get your information from your phone and internet company, some of it without a warrant. Bill C-34 creates a new government commission over social media with the power to decide what's "harmful." We will be in court on those, and court costs money. I'd rather raise it now than beg for it in the middle of a trial.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on X: “We discussed the energy ceasefire announced by President Trump. Ukraine supports the ceasefire, and it is important that Russia support it as well. Amish Families Weigh Their Futures as Vaccine Fight Continues in New York

FORT PLAIN, N.Y.—Three days a week, Amish farmers gather at a regional produce auction in the village of Fort Plain, bringing fresh vegetables, fruit, and flowers to market.
Some come by horse-drawn wagon along narrow country backroads, others by bicycle, kick scooter, and pickup truck.
For now, it is another Wednesday at the auction in Fort Plain, New York—Amish country. But away from the auction floor, a legal battle over New York’s school vaccination mandate is testing the boundaries of religious freedom and state authority.
The dispute is prompting some Amish families to consider whether to stay in New York or pull up stakes and leave, the plaintiffs’ attorneys say.
“It’s not like they’re making a choice—New York is making a choice,” said Hiram Sasser, an attorney with First Liberty Institute representing a group of Amish parents in the case.
“New York is making the choice that they no longer welcome the Amish.”
One Amish man at the auction, who asked to remain anonymous, said he wonders what lies ahead.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen,” he told The Epoch Times. “I don’t know if people are going to leave, but I doubt it.
“I know there’s a lot of people that are not going to take the vaccines. I think we’ll go to jail before we do that.”
In 2022, the department fined three Amish community schools in the Mohawk Valley for violating public health law: Dygert Road School near Canajoharie, Pleasant View School in Heuvelton, and Shady Lane School in Clymer.
The schools face a combined $118,000 in penalties under New York’s school vaccination requirement.
“New York State’s Public Health Law is clear: children attending daycare and pre-K through 12th grade must receive all required doses of vaccines on the recommended schedule in order to attend or remain in school,” the New York Department of Health said in a statement to The Epoch Times.
The requirement applies to public, private, and religious schools. Medical exemptions are allowed when a child has a condition that prevents vaccination.
“Immunization is one of the most important things a parent or guardian can do to protect their child’s health,” the department said.
Sasser said the dispute is about religious freedom and the right of the Amish to make their own health decisions. The conflict has placed an intensely private religious community in the middle of a public legal battle.
Most Amish men and women approached for this story declined to comment. Those who did either were unaware of the vaccine controversy or did not want to discuss it too deeply.

At a Fort Plain store, an Amish woman said some people in her community are more accepting of vaccines than members of other Amish groups.
“We don’t mind [vaccines],” she said. “I’m OK with not having them.”
She had never considered leaving New York over the dispute and doesn’t know others who have.

“You don’t really know other people’s feelings,” she said.
Her comments show that Amish families do not all share the same views. That variation is also reflected in their vaccination rates, which remain well below those of the general population, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
On Sept. 9, Anabaptist World reported that two unvaccinated Amish infants in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died in August after contracting measles. They were the nation’s first measles-associated deaths this year.
“The county was the center of a rapid measles outbreak, with 45 percent of the state’s cases in early September. Its large population of Amish and conservative Mennonites has a low rate of vaccination,” the news site added.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed two additional measles-associated deaths on Sept. 15 in Jefferson and Mifflin counties, and a fifth death statewide on Sept. 30 in Lancaster County.
“My thoughts are with the two families who lost loved ones to this highly-contagious virus, as Pennsylvania faces the worst measles outbreak in more than three decades,” state Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen said in a statement.
“We remain committed to working with our partners across Pennsylvania to stem this outbreak and prevent more deaths. That means ensuring people have the facts about measles and access to the MMR vaccine–which kept measles outbreaks at bay for decades.”

Measles can cause serious short- and long-term complications, including pneumonia and brain swelling, the department said. It added that nearly 20 percent of people diagnosed with measles are hospitalized, and historical data show that measles-associated deaths, though rare, occur in one to three cases per 1,000.
The virus spreads when an infected person breathes, coughs, or sneezes. It can remain infectious in the air and on surfaces for up to two hours after the infected person leaves the area.
In Lancaster County, which hosts the nation’s largest Amish community, 90.5 percent of kindergarteners had received the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine, state health data show.
Among Amish kindergarteners, the rate was estimated at about 25 percent.
In 2019, New York eliminated the religious exemption for school vaccinations after a measles outbreak involving 1,000 cases exposed gaps in vaccination coverage.
The CDC reported 48 measles outbreaks in the United States last year, with 90 of the 2,289 confirmed cases linked to outbreaks. The agency reported three deaths from measles nationwide for all of 2025.
This year, 3,471 measles cases have been reported, with 39 outbreaks.

On Aug. 10, President Donald Trump signed an executive order cutting the childhood vaccines recommended for all children from 18 diseases to 11, including measles, polio, and chickenpox.
The order also calls for separate shots and three medical visits.
The next day, New York State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald said the order does not change New York’s immunization requirements.
“To be clear: no new research was presented. Vaccines are the best protection for our children and under Governor Kathy Hochul, New York has the strongest public health standards in the country,” McDonald said in a statement.
“With measles cases on the rise across the country, now is not the time to confuse the public. The MMR vaccine has been protecting children for over 55 years. Splitting it into three visits offers no clinical advantage and requires children to have more shots and parents to have more office visits while providing no additional medical benefit.
“Here in New York, we will continue to be guided by the science.”
The New York Department of Health told The Epoch Times that its responsibility is to protect public health, safeguard New Yorkers and their families, and enforce the law fairly and equitably.
“While we cannot comment on pending litigation, the department is committed to eliminating serious illness and unnecessary deaths caused by vaccine preventable diseases,” it said.
“The department continues to provide community outreach and education on the safety of immunizations.”

Is time on our side?
Yes when it proves "we" were right about the future and "they" were wrong.
No, because by then it's too late for us to anticipate and prepare properly for any unexpected crisis. Our most scarce resource is Time. Everyone I know is too busy to read all their emails, answer all their phone calls, or even their texts lately!
Don't waste a lot of your precious time trying to wake everyone up! It's better to spend a lot of time working on a few choice people, than a little time working on many. Take consolation in the fact that each person influences half a dozen other friends or family members, and you're in the multiplying business, not addition or division.
Some are lucky enough to go to bible studies and church functions in order to get their priorities right, but they may rarely have time to join activist and mutual aid communities on top of this.
Too many prioritize social activity, or worse (entertainment and personal addictions). Even family activity can be wasted or turned into productive activity depending upon how you use it.
God warned me about the crazy society we're in now, with two dreams I had in 1985: the "coming problem" and the" solution". SEE ATTACHED. If you are reading this now, you are part of the solution. The next step is up to God when he rolls back the partitions between our little groups of awake friends to reveal the Great Merger, the script for rehearsing God's Great Play. In the Bible Jesus called it The Harvest. And the Father will be sending out his angels soon to separate bundle and bind the tares before the wheat (because tares mature first).
I personally imagine God's angels will arrive seen or unseen in 2029 when the giant asteroid Apophis flies over us, opening the depths of the earth for the release of Satan's fallen angels. Those who have been reading what Don Brooks and I have written and produced about the future will know what I'm talking about. I see the worst of times and the best of times ahead of us before Jesus returns. How long will it take? Only God knows.
IN PRACTICAL TERMS
In practical terms, we must make the best use of our remaining time by following the advice of Solomon. "Caste your bread upon the waters and make it many pieces" or "Don't put all your eggs in one basket".
A good long term plan would be homesteading because many farmers could be going broke. A good short term plan would be finding communities to barter with if our electricity fails, inflation runs away with the money, or our food chain breaks.

The origins of SMARTMATIC actually started in 1997 with a company named “Software Softer C.A.”
3 years later, on 4/11/2000, 3 Venezuelan engineers, Antonio Mugica, Alfredo Jose, and Roger Pinate founded Smartmatic in Delaware, USA.
In 2005, Smartmatic acquired SEQUOIA VOTING SYSTEMS, which actually started as ” Mathematical Systems Corporation of Anaheim, California, developing a punch-card voting system.
In 1984, Sequoia purchased the voting machine business of AVM Corporation, the former “Automatic Voting Machine Corporation,” and was recognized as Sequoia Voting Systems.
This is when Sequoia entered the voting machine business in the United States.
Sequoia was involved with voting systems for more than 100 years. In the 1980s Sequoia was bought by Jefferson Smurfit, an Irish printing conglomerate, which in turn sold to De La Rue, a British currency paper printing and security company.
The Venezuelan government has been a client of De La Rue printing company since 2004.
After years have passed and after losing money over several years, on 3/8/2005, Sequoia was then sold and acquired by Smartmatic from De La Rue for $16,000,000, the multi-national technology company founded by 3 Venezuelan software engineers, which developed advanced election systems, including voting machines.
In November 2007, following a verdict by the CFIUS, Smartmatic was ordered to sell Sequoia, which it did to its Sequoia managers with U.S. citizenship.
Sequoia Voting Sytems was then acquired by Denver-based DOMINION VOTING SYSTEMS on 6/4/2010.
One of the first successful election thefts consisted of Smartmatic machines & software, which were used in the 2004 Venezuelan recall referendum, which many observers claimed consisted of many irregularities never seen before.
These claims resulted in 2 studies, an exit poll and cluster analysis, which indicated MASSIVE FRAUD that flipped the results in favor of the dictator Hugo Chavez.
