@Craig Blackmer I have heard the same thing, but so far, people I know who got on their knees and stretched their arm out was mostly to travel. They do not even question what concoction they are receiving in their body. My closest friends of 20yrs or more after getting "inoculated" told me they cannot see me because I would pose a threat. I wonder if they thought about it now how "they" will pose the actual threat. I keep warning them not to take the second jab, but no. I was told that they will go for the 2nd one and even boosters if need be.Wow! I did my best to warn and I have fallen on deaf ears and the blind. Climate accountability and Indigenous rights legislation key to achieving climate justice.
As Parliament gets ready to break for the summer—and with the possibility of a fall election—CPJ is following two key legislative initiatives carefully.
Bill C-15, "An Act respecting the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples" was passed in the House of Commons on May 25, and as of this afternoon is up for third reading in the Senate. The anticipated passage of Bill C-15 is an important step in federal government efforts towards reconciliation as it will initiate the process of legally implementing the UN Declaration.
CPJ is hopeful that Bill C-12, the "Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act" will also make it to the Senate in the coming days. Significant questions remain about the strength of the legislation being put forward. What is clear, however, is that accountability is necessary to achieve meaningful progress towards the Paris temperature goals.
As part of Climate Action Network Canada's "virtual days on the Hill," CPJ's senior policy analyst, Karri Munn-Venn, is meeting with MPs and Senators to urge progress on both C-15 and C-12. She met with Independent Senators Mary Coyle and Stan Kutcher on June 3, and with Liberal MP Sean Fraser on June 10. Meetings will continue through to the end of the parliamentary session.
