💥God’s WORD for TODAY!

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 1:7 KJV

He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Psalm 23:3 KJV

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

John 7:37-38 KJV

Thoughts:

Saved From Our Sin

Not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. –Hebrews 9:12

In Luke 18:13, the tax collector prayed, “God, be merciful to me, the sinner!” Did you know it is possible to be sorry for your sin without ever being saved from your sin? The tax collector was sorry for his sin, but he also requested God’s mercy to cover his sin.

In Greek, the word for “be merciful” finds its root in the temple–specifically in the holy of holies. That was the place where God was thought to dwell. In the center of the holy of holies was the ark of the covenant. Inside the ark was a copy of the Ten Commandments, and on top of the ark was a rectangular lid made of gold called the mercy seat. On either side of that lid were replicas of two cherubim that guarded the holiness of God. And it was thought that God met His people in the center of the outstretched wings of the cherubim.

The picture was very clear: God was looking down on the law, which His people had broken, deserving His judgment upon their lives. But once a year on the Day of Atonement, the high priest would enter the holy of holies with the blood of an innocent animal and cover the mercy seat with the blood. So when God looked down, He no longer saw the broken law and His people deserving judgment. Instead, their sin was covered by the blood of an innocent animal.

All of that was a picture of what Jesus Christ, the perfect Lamb of God, would one day do for us. We cannot cover over our own sin. But by Christ’s death on the cross, His blood covers our sin. When you ask for God’s mercy, God no longer looks at you and sees His law, which you have broken; instead, your guilt is covered by the blood of His Son. That is why the writer of Hebrews said in Hebrews 9:12, “Not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” The problem with the Old Testament system was that it was never done–the high priest had to go in year after year to make sacrifices for the sins of the people. But Jesus Christ, the perfect High Priest, entered the gates of heaven not with the blood of an animal but with His own blood and made a once-for-all sacrifice for our sins.

When the tax collector said, “God, be merciful to me, the sinner!” he was saying, “Lord, cover over my sin. I am not capable of atoning for my guilt. You are going to have to do that for me.”

The vaccine "Berlin Wall" is finally being torn down - here's how:

Staten Island Supreme Court Justice Ralph Porzio has struck down the NYC vaccine mandate, calling it "arbitrary and capricious" while explaining, "it was all about compliance" and not public health.

In other news, the US government is buying up millions of dollars in radiological decontamination equipment, including showers, positive pressure tents, body suits and more. M8 paper -- an indicator of the presence of chemical weapons such as nerve gas -- is also being purchased and stockpiled by the government, likely in anticipation of either radiological or chemical attacks.

This would have cost exactly one letter from a lawyer to stop. Probably many attorneys out there would have even done it pro bono for Mike (I would have if I were still practicing). Or he could have done it completely free by reporting it to the consumer protection division in the AG’s office. Says my Juris Doctorate it is you who lack any understanding of how very simply this could have been handled. [Brighteon]

A shock poll sent Ron DeSantis a message he never expected to hear:

DeSantis has had one of the fastest rises to national prominence of any elected official in years.

And this shock poll sent Ron DeSantis a message he never expected to hear.

Other than Donald Trump, no Republican has done more to shape the Party’s agenda and message than Governor Ron DeSantis.

Over the last two years, DeSantis set the tone on the Right by taking up the fight’s conservatives wanted on COVID lockdowns and school closures, vaccine mandates, and pushing back on woke corporations.

DeSantis’ ability to pick – and most importantly win – all the right fights is leading Republicans to want DeSantis to exert a greater influence over the direction of the Party’s future.

A new ABC/IPSOS poll found that 72 percent of Republicans want DeSantis to play a greater role in charting the direction of the GOP – that number even topped the 64 percent who said the same of President Trump.

The Washington Examiner reports:

More Republicans believe Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis should have a “great deal” of influence over the party compared to former President Donald Trump, highlighting a seeming shift in loyalty ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

About 72% of Republican voters say DeSantis should have a great deal or good amount of influence over the party’s direction compared to 64% who said the same about Trump, according to a recent ABC News/Ipsos poll.

Trump and DeSantis being the two most popular Republicans on this question is not surprising.

Polls show DeSantis and Trump are the two leading frontrunners for the 2024 GOP nomination.

No other Republican even comes close to Trump and DeSantis.

DeSantis is seen by many Republicans as the heir to the populist conservative movement that Donald Trump brought to the Republican Party.

In a Florida Governor’s debate, DeSantis noticeably did not rule out the possibility of running for President in 2024 by declining to commit to serving a full four-year term if he wins re-election.

Should DeSantis run for President in two years, that would set up a direct confrontation with Donald Trump.

And GOP voters would have a firsthand opportunity to decide between the two men the base wants to have the largest say on the Party’s future.

DeSantis Daily will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story. [DeSantis Daily]

BIG NEWS:

Trudeau’s disinformation czar threatened to sue us. So, we sued him first:

Save Rebel News

Trudeau’s “disinformation” czar Jean-Christophe Boucher threatened to sue us, so we've sued him for defamation. He’s coming to censor us and to shut us down— we need your help.

Rebel News and Commander in Chief Ezra Levant were served with a legal notice of intention to bring a lawsuit, sent by Trudeau’s “disinformation” czar, Jean-Christophe Boucher.

You can read his threat letter in full, by clicking here.

He’s coming to censor us, to shut us down, just like he publicly warned us would happen.

Well, guess what.

Rebel News just sued him for defamation. He said we’re Russian agents. We’re not. He said we’re one of the worst misinformation propagandists in Canada. We’re not — we’re not Russian propagandists at all. Even his own report says so.

You can see we’re suing Boucher, the disinformation czar; and the University of Calgary for publishing his smear; and CTV, where he went on TV and said we were amongst the worst misinformation propagandists in Canada.

Jean-Christophe Boucher, Trudeau’s “disinformation” czar

Jean-Christophe Boucher has unlimited resources. He has received massive grants from the Trudeau government that he’s used to fund his work to smear Rebel News and other Trudeau critics. He’s also a professor at the University of Calgary, which also has unlimited resources, too.

But the main thing to know about this Boucher character is that he’s Trudeau’s censorship point man. Boucher’s the activist paid to lead Trudeau’s campaign against “disinformation”. Which is Trudeau’s new way of silencing his critics.

Boucher has hated Rebel News for a very long time. He smears us online, comparing us to poison and asking, “when will we shut down the Rebel for spreading false information? This should be a lawsuit for undermining public safety.”

This is a personal vendetta to him.

Lying about Rebel News — Calling us a "Russian agent"

We first heard of Boucher a few months ago, when he published a bizarre report, subject to no academic peer review, called Disinformation and Russia-Ukrainian War on Canadian Social Media”.

But the report itself was disinformation. Because it wasn’t a neutral or scholarly study. It was funded by Trudeau’s Department of National Defense.

Boucher’s report said that anyone who vocally opposed Justin Trudeau could be flagged as a Russian agent. One of the criteria for Boucher to flag you as a Putin agent is promoting a specific mistrust of Canada’s Liberal government, and especially of Prime Minister Trudeau.”

And based on that, they made a hate list of the people they accuse of being Russian agents. Maxime Bernier is on there too; Ezra Levant is on there; some other pundits in Canada and the U.S. are, too. But it’s not a list of Russians. It’s just a list of people who criticize Trudeau.

After Boucher’s report came out, Ezra did a Rebel News broadcast refuting it. And he sent him a private letter demanding that he correct the errors and smears against him.

Instead of making any corrections, they sent us a threat letter, signed by the university’s own lawyer, that they were going to sue us. So, we are suing him for defamation. We just can’t have a government professor at a government university saying we’re Russian agents. That’s insane.

The legal battle — how you can help

If you want us to live, now is the time to help us, please.

1. Legal fund

Please chip in what you can on this page. We really need your help to cover our legal bills. Boucher and Trudeau hate Rebel News. They think this is the way to kill us. Even before we get to trial, this lawsuit could cost us well over $100,000 in legal fees.

2. Write to the University of Calgary

You can also send an email directly to the University of Calgary Board of Governors, telling them it’s outrageous that they would support this bully by filling out the form on this page.

We can’t let that stop us. Please help us cover the cost of our lawyers, we promise we’ll fight like hell against this Trudeau disinformation czar. Not only will we defend ourselves, but we’ll put his own McCarthyite smears on trial, too. [REBEL News]

After receiving a large donation from the owner of a group of cable TV networks, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) "coincidentally" attempted to block a TV station merger deal, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.

Byron Allen, a former stand-up comedian who now owns a media empire, has been seeking to broaden his company's distribution by securing a deal with Tegna, a chain of 64 local television stations. However, the deal unraveled last year because of financing issues.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, around the same time Allen's deal was crumbling, he donated $271,300 to Pelosi, according to Federal Election Commission filings. It was his only on-record contribution to Pelosi's campaign.

During the same quarter, Allen also donated $275,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. According to FEC filings, the committee backs Democratic candidates for the House.

In February, the hedge fund Standard General secured a deal to purchase Tegna for $8.6 million.

Pelosi is now trying to prevent the merger, even though Tegna does not have any television stations in her San Francisco congressional district.

On October 6, Pelosi wrote a letter with Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Frank Pallone Jr. to FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel voicing "serious concerns" about the Tegna deal with Standard General.

The letter stated that Pelosi and Pallone are worried that the merger will lead to higher cable bills, station job cuts, and diminished local news coverage.

A week before Pelosi sent the letter, the FCC requested more information from Standard General and Tegna. As a result, the deal's closing date, which was initially scheduled for October 18, was pushed back several weeks. According to the New York Post, one lawyer speculated that the House's Office of Legislative Affairs may have informed the FCC chairwoman ahead of time that a letter would be coming.

"You don't want to surprise an agency head when they are in your own party," the lawyer said.

Standard General wrote to the FCC stating that it has no plans to cut jobs or reduce local news coverage. The hedge fund said it "made a commitment in the FCC record that it was not planning any such actions."

"If she is helping out a major donor it doesn't look good, quite frankly," Craig Holman, the Capitol Hill lobbyist for advocacy group Public Citizen, told the New York Post. "When it comes to campaign finance, this is often how it works. A donor gives money with the expectation of some return."

"It is legal unless there is an actual agreement between the parties. Then it is a bribe," Holman stated. "But when there is no obvious agreement, it does not run afoul of the law."

Mark Lipp, a partner at law firm Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth who worked at the FCC for 14 years, told the New York Post that politicians have pressured the FCC on behalf of donors in the past, but "since she has no constituent who would be affected, it is unusual."

"I've seen some commissioners withstand that kind of pressure and seen others buckle," Lipp said. "That sounds like more than a coincidence."

Henry Connelly, a spokesperson for Pelosi, declined to comment on Allen's campaign donations, reported the news outlet. However, Connelly noted that Pelosi and Pallone also reached out to the FCC with similar concerns in 2017 regarding Sinclair Broadcasting's deal to purchase stations from Tribune Broadcasting.

"Evidently, there are some 'legal experts' who will be surprised to learn that the speaker of the House of Representatives does in fact routinely weigh in on issues of national importance, not just her own district," Connelly said. "Democrats have long expressed concerns to the FCC about the consolidation of local news outlets raising costs on consumers and hollowing out the local news reporting that is vital to the health of our democracy."

Allen told the New York Post that his "donations to numerous Democratic politicians and PACs have nothing to do with Tegna and everything to do with protecting our democracy."

A spokesperson for the FCC told the news outlet, "Under long-standing precedent, the Commission does not comment on pending transactions. In this case – as in all cases – the Commission has a statutory obligation to determine that an assignment or transfer serves the public interest." [The BLAZE Media]

HS football coach suspended 7 years ago for praying with players after games to be reinstated:

Joseph Kennedy, the Washington state public high school football coach who was suspended seven years ago for praying with players after games — and who won a U.S. Supreme Court case on the matter this summer — is to be reinstated, ABC News reported, citing court documents.

"Kennedy is to be reinstated to his previous position as assistant coach of the Bremerton High School football team on or before March 15, 2023," according to a joint stipulation filed in Washington state district court Tuesday by attorneys representing Kennedy and lawyers for the Bremerton School District, the network said.

ABC News added that it reached out to both sides for comment.

What's the background?

Kennedy had been praying at the 50-yard line after games for years until Bremerton School District in 2015 told him to stop. When he refused, Kennedy said the district suspended him and then fired him.

In 2019, the court declined to take up Kennedy's case, the Associated Press said — but only four conservative justices were on the court at that time. Amid a new conservative majority, Kennedy's lawyers in January announced that his case finally would be heard. The high court heard arguments in late April, and the words of some justices signaled that the court would side with Kennedy.

In June, the high court ruled 6-3 for Kennedy, the AP said, adding that the conservative justices voted in favor of Kennedy, while the liberal justices voted against him.

“The Constitution and the best of our traditions counsel mutual respect and tolerance, not censorship and suppression, for religious and nonreligious views alike,” Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote for the majority, the outlet noted.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote in a dissenting opinion that the court's decision in favor of Kennedy “sets us further down a perilous path in forcing states to entangle themselves with religion,” the AP said, adding that she was joined in her dissent by Justice Stephen Breyer and Justice Elena Kagan.

Kennedy didn't see it that way.

"This is a right for everybody. It doesn't matter if you're this religion or that religion or have no faith whatsoever," Kennedy told ABC News during an interview earlier this year, the network said. "Everybody has the same rights in America."

Players often joined Kennedy in prayer despite not being asked to do so, but the school district still asked him to stop, as it considered him still “on duty” as a coach after the game, the AP said.

"Just hours before what would be my last game as coach, the school district gave me an ultimatum: If I prayed after that night’s game, they would suspend me," Kennedy wrote last year in a Fox News op-ed. "As a proudly retired U.S. Marine, something inside me stirred. I would have given my life defending the religious freedom of any American, and yet that very right was denied to me. That just seemed wrong and unjust."

He added, "I did pray on that chilly October night, leading to my suspension and termination. My only recourse at that point was to seek legal action to vindicate my rights of free speech and free exercise of my religious beliefs."
