Reegan and Miley’s interview highlights the impact on girls’ privacy, daily routines, and sense of safety in their own school. Their accounts raise questions about parental notification and the balance of rights in single-sex spaces under provincial law.
Picture asking your teacher to use the bathroom, then getting in your car, driving home to use your own washroom, and driving back.
That was the everyday reality for two young women I just interviewed in Lampman, Saskatchewan — a town of 600 people.
Reegan and Miley, both 18, just graduated. It should have been a year they'd remember fondly. Instead, it became memorable for all the wrong reasons. Their final year was consumed by one decision the adults made on their behalf, which was to allow a biological male student who now identifies as a girl to use the girls' multi-stall washroom and change room.
What Reegan and Miley told me on camera left me speechless.
Parents were never notified.
The school pulled girls out of class in groups to break the news, but told moms and dads nothing, claiming it would "single out" the transgender student.
The girls stopped using their own school washroom entirely. They left school grounds to go to local businesses. Grandparents rearranged their days to be home for the younger ones. And during a scorching Pride Month, some girls started limiting how much water they drank just to avoid going at all.
But here's the thing, a Lampman mother, Tawny Johnson, and lawyer Allison Pejovich have uncovered a provision in the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code that already explicitly protects single-sex spaces. The law to end this exists. It just needs a premier willing to enforce it.
Reegan and Miley can't get their final year back, but a whole wing of little girls in that same school will live through exactly this unless something changes now.

Trump says he will keep Blanche in acting status if needed
President Donald Trump said Thursday he would keep Todd Blanche as acting attorney general and wait out his rivals if the nomination remains stalled in the Senate.
The president criticized Republican Sens. John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina — both of whom have clashed with Trump and are set to leave office in January — for refusing to vote for Blanche. The Senate Judiciary Committee ditched plans to advance Blanche’s nomination on Thursday, as Cornyn refused to support the president’s nominees over the fate of the controversial Justice Department-brokered settlement agreement the president reached with the IRS earlier this year.
“He has the potential to go down as one of the Greatest Attorney Generals of All Time. However, John Cornyn, of Texas, and Thom Tillis, of North Carolina, both of whom I refused to Endorse, and whose political careers have been ended by my action, are refusing to vote for this Great Nominee, who will remain, in any event, as Acting,” the president said in a post on Truth Social, adding that he had “no objection to temporarily withdrawing Todd’s name, if they do not do the right thing, and putting him back after Cornyn and Tillis are out of office.”

Fauci invokes the Fifth more than 100 times, refuses to answer Senate questions on COVID and Wuhan Lab Funding

Anthony Fauci repeatedly pleaded the Fifth during a Senate hearing on COVID-19 origins and gain-of-function research and now faces a contempt vote as critics say his pardon leaves him with no legal basis to stay silent.
The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases appeared before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on July 29, 2026, under subpoena from Chairman Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican who has spent years pressing Fauci on whether U.S. taxpayer dollars helped fund dangerous coronavirus research at a Chinese laboratory. Fauci declined to answer substantive questions, invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination over and over, roughly 115 times, by one count.
The hearing devolved quickly. Fauci's attorney, David Schertler, began speaking out of turn and refused Paul's command to return to his seat. Paul called in Capitol Police, who removed Schertler from the witness area. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, the Connecticut Democrat, claimed Schertler had been wrongly "gagged." Paul pressed forward anyway.
By the time the session ended, Paul had announced a committee vote, scheduled for the following week, on a resolution to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer questions under a lawful subpoena.
Fauci claims Paul's 'obsession' left him no choice but silence
Fauci opened with a statement designed to remind lawmakers of his long tenure. He told the committee he had served at the National Institutes of Health for more than 54 years, 38 of those running NIAID, a post he first received under President Ronald Reagan. He said he had testified before or briefed congressional committees "well over 200 times" during that span.
Then he pivoted to his reason for refusing to answer. Fauci framed the hearing not as legitimate oversight but as a personal campaign by Paul to put him in prison. As he put it:
"Given Senator Paul's obvious obsession with calling for my prosecution, his repeated slanderous comments about me, and recently his publicly releasing my unredacted personal diary aimed at embarrassing and intimidating me, the only conclusion I can reach is that the sole reason he is calling me before this committee is to get me to say something, anything, that could vindicate his repeated public pledges that I end up, in his words, quote, behind bars, unquote."
Fauci's formal invocation was blunt. "Under the advice of my attorneys," he said, "I will invoke my right under the 5th Amendment of the Constitution to refrain from answering your questions."
Paul was not persuaded. He cited 18 U.S.C. § 1001, the federal statute that makes it a crime to knowingly make false statements to Congress, and argued Fauci could not hide behind the Fifth Amendment during a congressional investigation conducted under a lawful subpoena. Paul has long warned that a presidential pardon would not shield Fauci from consequences if he lied to the Senate.
Biden's pardon covers past crimes, so what is Fauci afraid of?
That question sat at the center of the sharpest criticism. Former President Joe Biden issued Fauci a preemptive pardon before leaving office in early 2025, covering potential federal offenses between 2014 and the end of his presidency. Sean Davis, founder of The Federalist, pointed to that pardon and argued it eliminated any legitimate basis for invoking the Fifth.
"There is zero legal justification for him pleading the Fifth Amendment on questions related to his conduct during the period covered by the pardon."
Conservative attorney and author Ann Coulter made a similar argument on X. "The Fifth is for past crimes, for which Fauci has already been fully pardoned," she wrote. "I don't think the Biden admin thought this through."
The logic is straightforward. The Fifth Amendment protects a witness from being compelled to give testimony that could be used against him in a criminal prosecution. If a blanket pardon already covers the conduct in question, there is no criminal jeopardy left to protect against, and no legal hook for refusing to answer. Fauci and his attorneys have not publicly addressed that argument.
Republicans, however, noted that Fauci could still face perjury charges arising from statements made during the hearing itself, meaning any answer he gave could theoretically create new criminal exposure even if his prior conduct was pardoned. That tension helps explain the strategy, even if it does not satisfy critics who say the public deserves answers about how the pandemic was handled.
Over 1,000 pages of Fauci's personal diaries preceded the hearing
The hearing did not happen in a vacuum. Paul had already released more than 1,000 pages of Fauci's personal diary entries from the pandemic period, documents that, according to Breitbart, suggest Fauci misled the public on COVID-19 fatality rates and was aware that scientists believed the virus originated from a lab leak in Wuhan, China.
Those diary entries have drawn intense scrutiny. Fauci's private writings during COVID paint a picture that critics say clashes sharply with the confident public posture he maintained throughout the pandemic. If his private assessments of the virus's origins and lethality differed from what he told the American people, that gap is precisely the kind of discrepancy a Senate oversight committee exists to explore.
Fauci chose not to explore it. He sat in the witness chair, took the Fifth roughly 115 times, and offered nothing beyond his opening statement.
Paul framed the stakes in blunt terms. "Today will be the capstone to Anthony Fauci's 40 years of abuse of power at NIH," the chairman said.
Gain-of-function research and the questions Fauci won't answer
The hearing centered on gain-of-function research, the practice of deliberately enhancing a pathogen's ability to spread or cause disease in order to study it. The technique carries obvious risks: if a modified virus escapes a laboratory, it can spread widely and rapidly. That is precisely the scenario many scientists and intelligence officials believe may have triggered the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fauci spent years denying that NIH funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Subsequent investigations and declassified files have challenged that denial, alleging that U.S. taxpayer money was funneled to the Wuhan lab through intermediary organizations and that Fauci was aware of the arrangement while publicly dismissing it.
Just The News reported that following the hearing, the Trump administration formally banned gain-of-function research, a move that underscores how seriously the current administration takes the risk that such work may have contributed to the pandemic.
Declassified intelligence files have added further weight to the lab-leak theory, including evidence that U.S. intelligence flagged a video of EcoHealth Alliance chief Peter Daszak describing coronavirus manipulation in China, even as Fauci publicly denied any such work was taking place.
Critics from across the spectrum call Fauci's silence indefensible
The backlash was swift and came from more than just the usual partisan corners. Rep. Jimmy Patronis, the Florida Republican, had this to say:
"Anthony Fauci is a monster and pleading the 5th is grotesque and every mainstream platform outlet that put him on a pedestal should be ashamed."
Investigative journalist Gerald Posner shared a clip of Fauci invoking the Fifth and wrote that it was "not the transparency Americans seeking answers about COVID's origins and the policies that upended the world wanted to hear." He added a pointed observation about the amendment's purpose:
"The Fifth Amendment exists to protect the innocent from government overreach. It should never become a shield against the truth."
Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, no stranger to congressional scrutiny, weighed in as well. "Interesting," he wrote. "It's about COVID, public health, & the public's right to know."
White House adviser Peter Navarro said he had predicted the outcome. "I called the shot this morning," he posted. "Fauci will plead the fifth."
Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice delivered what may have been the sharpest statement, speaking for the millions of families who lived with the consequences of Fauci's pandemic-era decisions:
"Parents were forced to live with the consequences of Dr. Fauci's decisions every single day. Our kids lost years of learning, friendships, milestones, and opportunities they'll never get back. Now, when it's time for accountability, he refuses to answer questions under oath. That's infuriating. The American people deserve answers now."
Democrats and scientists rally behind Fauci
Not everyone condemned Fauci's decision. Sen. Maggie Hassan, the New Hampshire Democrat, told Fauci directly during the hearing: "This hearing is designed to entrap you." Blumenthal echoed the sentiment, accusing Paul of silencing Fauci's legal counsel.
More than 150 infectious-disease experts signed a public letter defending Fauci and calling the congressional proceedings "witch-hunts," Newsmax reported. The letter framed the hearing as a politically motivated attack on public-health science rather than a legitimate search for accountability.
That defense faces an obvious problem. If Fauci did nothing wrong, if his public statements matched his private knowledge, if NIH funding never supported dangerous research in Wuhan, if every decision he made during the pandemic was sound, then answering Paul's questions under oath would be the fastest way to prove it. A pardon already shields him from prosecution for anything he did before January 2025. The only new criminal risk comes from lying to Congress now.
Fauci chose silence instead.
Contempt vote looms as the COVID accountability trail widens
Paul's announcement of a contempt vote puts the matter squarely before the full committee in the coming days. If the committee approves the resolution, it would move to the full Senate floor, a step that would force every senator to go on record about whether a former government official can refuse to answer questions about a pandemic that killed more than a million Americans.
Fauci spent 54 years at NIH. He testified before Congress more than 200 times, by his own count. He built a career on the premise that public-health leadership requires public trust. And when the Senate finally put him under oath to answer for the most consequential public-health decisions of a generation, he had nothing to say, 115 times over.
A man who lectured the country for years about following the science now refuses to answer basic questions about it. The American public funded the research, endured the lockdowns, and buried the dead. They deserve more than a Fifth Amendment plea and a lawyer being escorted out by Capitol Police.

Anthony Fauci sat in the Senate chamber and took the Fifth Amendment over and over again, refusing to answer even the most basic questions while Republican senators laid bare years of contradictions, taxpayer-funded self-enrichment, and the human cost of his COVID policies.
The former NIAID director, already armed with a sweeping preemptive pardon from Joe Biden stretching back to 2014, still chose silence. What followed was three hours of sustained accountability that left the man once billed as “the science” looking cornered, defensive, and furious.
Sen. Rand Paul opened by releasing more than 1,000 pages of Fauci’s own pandemic-era diary and demanding answers on COVID origins, gain-of-function research funding in China, and the private doubts the public was never told. Fauci responded by accusing Paul of an “unhinged obsession” and claiming the entire hearing existed solely to put him “behind bars.”
“Although it pains me to do so because of the respect I have for the legislative branch of government … under the advice of my attorneys, I will invoke my right under the Fifth Amendment of the constitution to refrain from answering your questions,” Fauci said.
Paul rejected the claim of privilege, pointing out that the Biden pardon eliminated any realistic risk of criminal self-incrimination for the period covered, and directed him to answer anyway. Fauci refused.
Paul held up the relevant statute making it a crime to refuse to answer questions before Congress and asked Fauci if the folder containing that law was even on the table in front of him. Fauci took the Fifth on that too.
Paul then catalogued the record: funding dangerous research in Wuhan, one story for the public and another in private, lockdowns and school closures that devastated families and businesses, and the refusal to admit error.
“The American people deserve an apology,” Paul said. “I hope today Dr. Fauci will come clean… Ask forgiveness… You did not tell the American people the full story.”
When Fauci’s lawyer attempted to interject and refused to leave his side, Paul ordered security to remove him. The room erupted in cheers. “You are being disruptive. Would you behave this way in a courtroom? No, ‘cause the judge would put you in jail,” Paul said.
Sen. Josh Hawley refused to play along with the constitutional theater. He asked Fauci what day of the week it was, what color tie he was wearing, and what color the carpet was. Each time the same answer came back: “I respectfully decline to answer.”
Hawley cut through it: “Let’s just get ONE THING STRAIGHT. You DON’T HAVE any rights under the Fifth Amendment because you’ve been pardoned… This isn’t about the Constitution… This is about contempt. Contempt for this body and contempt for the American people.”
Hawley then produced the receipts on money. While Americans were dying by the hundreds of thousands, Fauci’s net worth climbed past $12 million. He received more than one million dollars in cash awards during the pandemic.
Hawley detailed how Fauci turned at least eight federal employees—paid with taxpayer dollars and working on federal time—into a personal awards-application machine.
Emails showed staff soliciting nominations for the Dan David Prize ($900,000), the Partnership for Public Service, the Adelson prize, Smithsonian, National Academy of Medicine, CDC Foundation, and others.
“You got RICH while people were dying,” Hawley said. “You were using federal employees with TAXPAYER MONEY to apply for and solicit cash prizes for you personally.”
In a blistering close, Hawley declared that the silence itself was an admission. “It was really about a power trip… You wanted to be the sun god of science… You wanted to be the guy who was in charge of it all… You could sit for InStyle magazine… but you can’t answer questions for the American people…”

Treatments will essentially be free for US citizens under a new medical insurance program designed by Trump.
Trump’s Global Military Alliance was also in the process of making Med Bed technology available free to all peoples of the World. There were several Med Bed Centers already up and running across the Globe. On Sat. 25 July 2026 US Space Force authorized global deployment of holographic Med-Beds across 4,500 subterranean medical restoration facilities.
According to a recently disclosed classified Military Document “Project Restoration — Phase 1 Civilian Medical Infrastructure Integration,” in the US there were 14,000 nurses and 6,200 physicians scheduled for certification to run Med Bed treatments.
In addition to the immediate installment of Med Beds in 3,200 US Hospitals, during 2027 the Military planned to install Med Beds in 12,000 US outpatient clinics, plus distribute a Med Bed home unit version for chronic illness patients.
There were 840 Med Bed units already manufactured that were stored at three military installations.
With most treatments lasting less than an hour, the Med Beds were said to put the body in a healing state without use of drugs. The Medical and pharmaceutical fields don’t seem to like that idea because of their likely loss of income.
Even though Med Bed body regeneration at the cellular level technology was first discovered by Nicola Tesla in the early 1900s, the medical field has done much to block Med Bed technology from being made available to the general public.
