A prominent House Republican called on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) to resign on Monday after she delivered a speech in which opponents claimed she prioritized Somali interests over American ones.


“Ilhan Omar’s appalling, Somalia-first comments are a slap in the face to the Minnesotans she was elected to serve and a direct violation of her oath of office,” House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) wrote on X.

“She should resign in disgrace.”

Omar, the first Somali American in Congress, appeared to tell her Somali American constituents that she would do all in her power to prevent the disputed, breakaway Republic of Somaliland from signing a sea-access agreement with landlocked Ethiopia.

 

A video of the Minnesota legislator went viral with almost 2.6 million views after it was uploaded on X, with a translation stating that Omar said: “As Somalis, one day we will go after our missing territories.”

The representative alleges her statements were lost during translation.

“It’s not only slanted but completely off,” Omar said of the subtitles in a video of her speech shared by Republic of Somaliland Foreign Minister Rhoda Elmi.

“But I wouldn’t expect more from these propagandists.”

“No one will take Somalia’s sea while I am in Congress,” Omar declared in a more precise translation of her Jan. 27 address.

 

“The United States will not back others to rob us. So, do not lose sleep over that.”

Göttingen. The former candidate for chancellor of the small party "Die Basis", Reiner Fuellmich, has denied allegations of embezzlement against him in court. In addition, he sharply attacked the public prosecutor's office on Wednesday at the start of the trial at Göttingen Regional Court and described the circumstances of his arrest as kidnapping.

Since Wednesday, the 65-year-old has been on trial on charges of embezzlement in two cases with a total value of 700,000 euros. In addition, the public prosecutor's office accuses him of wrongfully receiving 15,000 euros in coronavirus emergency aid.

 

Specifically, Fuellmich is alleged to have received 200,000 and 500,000 euros in November 2020 and May 2021 respectively as loans from the Corona Committee Foundation, which he co-founded. According to the indictment, he spent the money with his wife, who is also under investigation. He had no intention of repaying it. The other three partners in the foundation suffered losses of 150,000 and 375,000 euros. At the time of the indictment, there was still talk of commercial embezzlement in 18 cases totaling more than one million euros. The 16 remaining cases were severed. In addition, Fuellmich is alleged to have made false statements about the financial situation of his law firm in April 2020 in order to receive 15,000 euros in coronavirus emergency aid.

 

Up to 250,000 euros for new pools at Fuellmich's house

The imprisoned lawyer is said to have been a partner and one of four managing directors of the Corona Committee Foundation, which was founded in mid-2020 and financed by donations. Fuellmich said that the aim of the foundation was to answer questions about the effectiveness of coronavirus vaccinations, protective masks and the risk of Covid-19.

Fuellmich responded to the allegations in his statement by saying that he had always been willing and able to repay the money to the foundation. He had real estate worth several million euros in return. Among other things, he had invested 200,000 to 250,000 euros in a whirlpool and a pool at his house in order to increase the value. It had also been agreed with the co-partner who approved the loans that the money would disappear.

 

This was to protect it from the supposedly imminent seizure of the foundation's accounts. With regard to the emergency coronavirus aid, he said that his law firm's existence had actually been under threat at the time in question.

Fuellmich was deported from Mexico and arrested in Frankfurt

Investigators had reported in October that the lawyer had been deported from Mexico after a lengthy stay there and arrested at Frankfurt Airport.

 

Fuellmich explained that he had been lured to the German consulate in Mexico under a pretext in order to arrest him there, as there was no international arrest warrant for him.

He also assumes that the allegations of embezzlement against him were only a pretext. "It's about getting me out of circulation."

 

Reiner is right - it’s about getting him out of circulation. And I would go further. It’s about punishing him. He was brought into court in handcuffs.

Then, an essential point was left out of the article (almost certainly because the writer was unaware). As is clear in the article, there is no detailed mention in court about the facts surrounding the diversion of the funds from Reiner's house sale into someone else's account (so he wouldn’t be able to repay anything). Most important, there is NO MENTION WHATSOEVER about the judge (corrupt, from the evidence) deeming this evidence in Reiner’s favour as "inadmissible.”

I know: how could it be deemed inadmissible that the funds from Reiner's house sale - 700,000 of which were to be used to repay the loan - were diverted into someone else's account!!!!

It coms into my mind: Could all that happened to Reiner be part of a plot against him?

Nancy Pelosi's son avoids federal charges in money laundering case:

In the latest development surrounding Paul Pelosi Jr., son of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, two individuals connected to him, Bill Garlock and Gina Rodriguez, are facing sentencing for charges related to a money laundering and mail fraud scheme.

This marks the seventh federal case involving Pelosi Jr., as detailed in an investigation by DailyMail.com.

The case

Federal prosecutors have brought charges against Garlock and Rodriguez, including fraudulent dealings associated with a San Francisco property that Pelosi Jr. claimed ownership of. The duo has entered a plea deal, and their sentencing is scheduled for March.


While Pelosi Jr. has been implicated in various federal cases, financial crime experts question why he has avoided direct indictment, especially after documents revealed his involvement in bribes for building permits related to a Mission District property.

Some experts, including Seamus Bruner from the Government Accountability Institute, express concerns about possible preferential treatment based on Pelosi Jr.'s familial ties.


Deceiving investors

Garlock and Rodriguez are accused of deceiving investors by soliciting over $1 million for purported real estate projects, diverting the funds for personal use, including rent, loan repayments, credit card bills, and even "horse-related expenses," according to San Francisco federal prosecutors.


The indictment alleges that they obtained money from investors through fraudulent pretenses and concealment of material facts.

One of the pitched property investments involved the renovation of a troubled building in San Francisco's Mission District, previously tied to Pelosi Jr.

The 2022 indictment lists 15 counts of money laundering and mail fraud, detailing a deceptive scheme to solicit $400,000 from investors for the 24th Street property.


Pelosi Jr. goes free:

Pelosi Jr.'s close association with the property and his alleged role in a bribery scheme for building permits, resulting in the imprisonment of city officials, has raised eyebrows.

Despite being identified as "Client 9" in the 2021 bribery complaint, Pelosi Jr. was not charged. The recent indictment against Garlock and Rodriguez does not implicate Pelosi Jr., who has not provided comments on the matter.


Experts point out the recurring theme of influential individuals' family members receiving preferential treatment within the justice system, drawing parallels with other political families like the Clintons and Bidens.

As Pelosi Jr.'s legal entanglements continue, questions persist about the potential impact of his last name on legal proceedings.

If you have seen Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lately, you’ll know the toll that this war has taken on him. He and those in his government are constantly having to consider in their decisions the needs of the families of the hostages, the needs of the military, and the ultimate goal of absolute victory against Hamas, Hezbollah, and any other enemy along our borders whose aim is to annihilate us.


All the while, the PM and his people are feeling internal pressure from the opposition, who, after taking a brief moment off after October 7 to express their desire for national unity, have once again removed their daggers from their sheaths and are looking for any way to bring the PM down. If that weren’t enough, the pressure from outside the country, particularly from Washington, D.C., to wind down the war and implement a two-state solution is strong and constant.Internationally, Israel is in a no-win situation. The only ones who have any desire for a two-state solution live far from the eastern shores of the Mediterranean. Israel doesn’t want a two-state solution because that would allow directly on its border an autonomous nation whose single desire is to obliterate the Jews.


Hamas doesn’t want a two-state solution either because rather than living next to Israel, they want to live instead of Israel.It is that “us instead of them” mindset that makes it impossible for Israel to allow the Gazans to press up against their border. If the people of Gaza were peace-loving, respectful neighbors, I believe that a huge majority of Israelis would vote to allow them their own land and governance. Instead, we find that all but a very small minority of Palestinians rear their children to hate Jews and to desire their violent extermination. It is so endemic in the culture that it would take 30-40 years for a new generation to be raised which would not hate Israel.But despite all this being said, please understand that Israel is experiencing victory after victory in Gaza.


Hamas is on the run as they see thousands of their terrorist compatriots dying and thousands more being captured. As the Gazan civilians evacuate to the south, many are beginning to protest loudly and publicly against Hamas. Yes, the situation is complex and taxing on the leadership, but Israel is most definitely on the winning side.Please pray for the governmental and military leadership of Israel. Pray for safety and pray for wisdom. The multifaceted situation they face is unlike any the world has seen before.

The Middle East

War StatisticsAccording to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) figures, 9,000 terrorists have been killed since the October 7 massacre with thousands more injured. Among the dead were two Hamas brigade commanders, 19 battalion commanders, and 50 company commanders. On the Israeli side, 560 IDF soldiers have lost their lives and another 2,536 have been wounded. This goes to show the incredible difficulty and danger of this new form of warfare that demands simultaneous action on the streets above the ground and in the labyrinth of tunnels below.Since the war began, 14,000 rockets have been fired at civilian locations in Israel from Gaza, 2,000 from Lebanon, and 30 from Syria.


In contrast, as the IDF moved through Gaza, they made 79,000 phone calls to civilians, dropped 7 million leaflets, and sent 13 million SMS messages, all giving notice of its intentions to enter an area and warning the non-combatants to clear out of harm’s way. And it is not just Gazans who have been forced to flee their homes due to war. There are 200,000 Israelis who have been evacuated to safety from both the southern and northern borders of the country.

Gaza

As rumors of ceasefires and the end of hostilities circulate through the media, Netanyahu took time to clarify Israel’s objectives. “I hear statements about various deals, so I want to make this clear: we will not end this war with anything less than achieving all our goals. This means eliminating Hamas, returning all our captives, and ensuring that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel,” he said in a speech in the West Bank. He went on to say, “We will not settle for anything less than an absolute victory.


”There is a growing protest movement within Israel to block the “humanitarian aid” into Gaza. Why is this? Is it because Israelis just want the Gazans to suffer? No, it’s because most Israelis understand that the aid sent to the area inevitably ends up in the hands of Hamas and not the general population. This is an absurd situation. When in modern history has a country both fought and fed its enemy at the same time? That is a sure recipe for extending the length of a war and compounding casualties. More and more Israelis are now rising up against this ridiculous state of affairs which exists only due to pressure by the US and the international community.


If it wasn’t for our great need for Iron Dome munitions and other arms in preparation for the looming war against Hezbollah, we wouldn’t find ourselves in this predicament.Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets, drones, missiles, and ground troops continue to devastate Hamas and its infrastructure in Khan Yunis and central Gaza. Operation Atlantis is fully active, using sea water to flood underground tunnels. Soon, the IDF will complete its takeover of Khan Yunis, and turn its attention southward.

Northern Front

On Monday, an Israeli airstrike eliminated a number of Iranian advisers south of Damascus, Syria. The missiles targeted a base housing members of Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) killing seven inside. Several days earlier and across the border to the west, the IDF targeted several sites in southern Lebanon belonging to Hezbollah. At least four terrorists were killed in the airstrikes.Once again, I must stress that the north will almost certainly be the next front of the war. Because of the strength and training of Hezbollah, the IDF will not be able to just plow through like they did in Gaza.


This is where the real war will take place, and it will bring hardship to both Israeli and Lebanese civilians. But this fight must go forward in order to remove terrorist Hezbollah and other Iranian proxy militias. Otherwise, Israelis will never feel safe in their own homes again.

International Relations

The South African ploy to force Israel into a ceasefire has flopped. Rather than declaring Israel’s actions in Gaza to be “genocidal”, as the South African ANC government claimed, the International Court of Justice demanded that Hamas release all hostages. Certainly, the high court had some negative things to say about Israel, but that is what we would expect from any body of jurists related to the United Nations.Despite the rumors that Washington was going to slow arms sales to Israel in order to pressure a ceasefire and a two-state solution, the US will send the IDF a huge supply of armaments. 


There will be a number of F-35 jets, 25 F-15 jets, 12 Apache helicopters, tens of thousands of guns and heavy machine guns, and large amounts of ammunition, projectiles, and other war materiel. “Israel has a right and obligation to defend themselves against the threat of Hamas…and we remain committed to support Israel in its fight,” said a White House National Security Council spokesperson.

UNRWA

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is a front for terrorism. Thus far, twelve UNRWA employees are known to have directly participated in perpetrating the October 7 massacre, and it is likely that number will increase. Israel has been making this claim for months, and finally other nations are beginning to listen. So far, the US, UK, Germany, Italy, Japan, Finland, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Australia, Canada, Romania, New Zealand, and Switzerland have frozen their funding of the tainted relief agency.

U.S. and Iran

A drone attack on a US base in Jordan on Sunday led to the deaths of three soldiers and the wounding of 40 others. The Iran-supported terrorist militia, Kataib Hezbollah, took responsibility for the attack that occurred near the border with Syria. The US military is still trying to figure out how this drone made it through the air-defense system. Some believe it was human error due to a US drone returning to base around the same time.


However, it is also quite possible that this is a new type of UAV that is able to mimic the signature of other drones. If that is the case, this could signal great difficulties in countering drone infiltrations in the future.The White House was quick to condemn the attack, with President Biden writing in a statement that the US “will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner (of) our choosing.” Because the perpetrators were proxies of Iran, tensions in the Middle East have risen significantly. Iran has already promised a very strong response if they are direct recipients of the United States’ retaliation.


At the same time, senior commanders in pro-Iranian militias in Syria are leaving for Iran in fear of an American attack. This situation places the US administration in a difficult place. If they put forth a tepid response, both the Middle East and the moderate electorate in the November election will see Biden as weak. If the response is strong, the president risks losing support of the American left while escalating the situation with Iran.

At least six Christian students, three teachers, and the driver of a bus belonging to the Apostolic Nursery and Primary School were kidnapped Tuesday by Islamists in Ekiti state, Nigeria. The school was later contacted with ransom demands. This follows a pattern in Nigeria of the kidnapping and murder of Christians. “Last year alone, 5,014 Christians were killed in Nigeria–accounting for nearly 90 percent of Christian deaths worldwide as well as 90 percent of Christian kidnappings across the globe,” said US Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) in a statement. Children kidnapped; thousands murdered. Why isn’t this leading the news headlines?


Two reasons. First, the victims are only poor Africans. Second, the perpetrators aren’t Jews. It’s truly appalling. Two Islamist terrorists entered Santa Maria church in Istanbul, Turkey, on Sunday and opened fire, killing one and wounding another. They then fled. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the act. Since the attack, both perpetrators have been arrested by Turkish authorities, and another 47 people suspected to be connected to the responsible group have been taken into custody.In order to protect its southern border, the state of Texas reinforced its barrier with concertina wire. Last week, the US Supreme Court ruled that the Border Patrol had the right to cut that wire. Governor Greg Abbott responded by placing even more wire along the border. This defiance has brought the state into direct conflict with Washington. While some on the left have urged President Biden to nationalize Texas’s national guard, the Texans have responded to the effect of “Yeah, try it and see how that goes.” Texas is not standing alone in their bid to defend their border. Twenty-five of the fifty states have signed a letter pledging their support to the Lone Star State.

Another Canceled Christian Trustee:

Niagara Catholic District School Board is evil.

Yet another faithful Ontario Catholic school trustee has been canceled. She’s being persecuted for the “crime” of trying to keep her Catholic school board faithful to Church and biblical teaching.

In an affront to representative democracy, a majority of Natalia Benoit’s Niagara Catholic District School Board (NCDSB) trustee colleagues recently banned her from receiving board meeting correspondence for a period of 5 months, until the end of June.


Even more seriously however, she’s facing a separate, frivolous complaint, filed by a local pro-LGBT activist, regarding Natalia’s election campaign finance reports from 2022. This could potentially result in Natalia’s trustee seat being vacated. Although unlikely, the law even allows for jail time! 

She appeared before a tribunal to decide her fate on January 31, 2024. 

All of this persecution is politically motivated.

James O’Keefe discusses soon-to-be-released report his friends worry may get him killed:

In a lengthy tweet published Tuesday, he seemed to basically say that he’s made peace with this possibility and is going ahead with his story.

The tweet begins with him saying he has lived a good life but warning that he doesn’t know what comes next — that he only knows that there’s “extreme risk” doing what he does.

“At 39, I’ve lived a good life,” he writes. “Whether it’s complete or not is not up to me. What happens next, I don’t know. If there’s more to come here, so be it. I’ve learned the pursuit of truth requires extreme risk while operating without a safety net. I’ve experienced so much. I’ve lived ten lives compressed into a fraction of one.”

“That’s all that a man can hope for. Meteoric highs, extreme lows, and near-death experiences, Jail and jury trials, travels to every state dozens of times, adventures, travails, failures, betrayals, and loves lost and gained, repeated valleys, moving and climbing mountains, enduring multiple rebirths and renewals,” he continues.

 

His lengthy post has inspired his supporters to shower him with support on the social media platform X:

He then goes on to quickly plug his book, “American Muckraker,” before talking about his upbringing.

“I’ve received love from a balanced family with honest parents and sincere grandparents who raised me to have a manically driven work ethic, all while believing in the best in people,” he explains. “From my vantage point, that last thing is on the verge of extinction unless things fundamentally change.”

 

He also talks about his transition from Project Veritas, his previous company, to O’Keefe Media.

“I built a good organization from nothing, which did good things. I’m taking lessons from the first company and building a better one from nothing, which I know will do more extraordinary things,” he writes.

 

O’Keefe then moves on to talking about “challenging  Leviathan.” In the Bible, the Leviathan is an extremely powerful sea creature.

“Leviathan doesn’t like being challenged,” he writes. “But as nearly impossible as that is, the enemy and its injustice is no longer what bothers me. An enemy can’t betray you. Only people you think are good can do that.”

Continuing his lengthy tweet, he then talks about the betrayals he’s witnessed.

“It has been an indescribable hell on earth for me to witness people go against everything they claim to believe in – everything good and right, in service to their love of money and power,” he explains. “I’ve witnessed envy destroy people whose hearts I thought I knew. I’ve seen an unhealthy obsession with comfort and safety from countless others. These weaknesses stand between us and what we’re ‘up against.'”

Local Restaurants and Movie Houses - Face Changing Times:

It appears that the Hyland theater is going the way of many small businesses who now have to, pay back the Covid Relief money given to them when health officials forced them to close or, social distance with masks.  


It's sad because all the big film networks and chain stores made more money than ever.  Almost half our small local businesses are looking to close ASAP.   City Hall is compensating the downtown stores for lost business due to vagrants on the streets, but no government is helping small independent businesses per se.  Big business is "too big to fail" they say, so they get subsidies and loans that may be forgivable, and tax breaks. 


The Liberals won't even give small business extra time to pay back the Covid "loans".  Maybe the Federation of Independent Businesses should collect bribe money from its members.  Oops, I meant "consulting" or "agent" fees which the lobbyists collect.  

 

MEANWHILE the new trend for small independent restaurants is to start changing their menus all the time, featuring any dishes they want to try and buy from distributors like Dealsy (others are springing up everywhere).  The day of franchises is over.
