In a repugnant escalation of the tantrum they have been throwing since the U.S. Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade, pro-abortion leftists have just offered cash payments to anyone who provides real-time information on conservative justices’ whereabouts so that they can be hunted down and harassed, as the Washington Examiner reports.
The outlet noted that the activist group known as ShutDownDC last week tweeted a willingness to remit “$50 to anyone who gives a confirmed sighting and $200 if the Justice or Justices are in the same area 30 minutes after their location is given,” including on their wish list details on the location of Justices John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett.
“We’ll venmo you $50 for a confirmed sighting and $200 if they’re still there 30 minutes after your message,” the group added for purposes of specificity.
The shameful solicitation came after members of the group succeeded in mobilizing and effectively forcing Kavanaugh to make a swift exit through the back door of Morton’s steakhouse in D.C., where he was dining last week, as Politico reported.
The progressive rabble rousers had received a tip about where Kavanaugh was eating, made their way to the establishment’s front door, and placed phone calls to the restaurant’s manager urging him to boot the justice from the premises.
To its credit, Morton’s management issued a statement slamming what transpired, with regard to their well-known customer, according to The Hill, declaring, “Honorable Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and all of our other patrons at the restaurant were unduly harassed by unruly protestors while eating dinner… . [p]olitics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner.”
“There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency,” the statement added.
Now with cash on the table for those willing to engage in such egregious conduct, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has suggested that repeat incidents are indeed likely, and that the justices should “expect” to have run-ins with those upset with the reversal of Roe, according to the Washington Post.
With high-ranking public officials essentially looking the other way when it comes to the harassment, intimidation, and even an assassination attempt against conservative members of the high court, it should come as no surprise where there is a surplus of takers for ShutDownDC’s appalling offer. June Inflation Figures 'Unacceptably High' but 'Out of Date":
President Joe Biden said June inflation figures were "unacceptably high" but also said they were "out of date," given the recent drop in gasoline prices.
"Energy alone comprised nearly half of the monthly increase in inflation. Today’s data does not reflect the full impact of nearly 30 days of decreases in gas prices, that have reduced the price at the pump by about 40 cents since mid-June," Biden said in a statement.
"Those savings are providing important breathing room for American families," continued the statement, issued about one hour after the Labor Department’s report on consumer prices.
The consumer price index rose 9.1% from a year earlier, according to new Labor Department data. The spike, which exceeded predictions, is the largest increase since the end of 1981.
Biden's statement also noted that core inflation, which excludes food and energy, appears to be moderating.
“Importantly, today’s report shows that what economists call annual ‘core inflation’ came down for the third month in a row and is the first month since last year where the annual ‘core’ inflation rate is below six percent,” his statement said.
