Owens is spearheading some of the most viral and incendiary content about Kirk's death, including claims that staff at Turning Point USA 'betrayed' their boss. She rakes in up to nine million views on daily podcast episodes, which are broadcast on YouTube, airing the spurious theories.
Now she is targeting Erika. On Wednesday night, she accused the widowed mother-of-two of 'hypocrisy' for asking for privacy for her family on national TV.
'This is going to be read as Meghan Markle syndrome,' Owens said. 'You want privacy when you want it, but you want publicity whenever you want it. That just doesn't work.'
The reference alludes to criticism aimed at the Duchess of Sussex for conducting high-profile interviews while complaining about media intrusion.
Owens began Wednesday's show by claiming that she'd been 'waiting' as she 'wasn't sure about Erika'. But, she added, Erika's TV appearance 'completely missed the mark.'
'The good news is she's now unmurking the water with her intentions with this massive political organization,' Owens concluded.
Before airing her full episode, she previewed her attack on Erika by telling her legions of fans that the widow's Fox interview is indirect, but it's also about me.'

Privy Council caught [Red-Handed] Deleting Freedom Convoy docs tied to illegal Emergencies Act invocation
The prime minister's personal bureaucrats in the Privy Council Office claim documents related to former RCMP commissioner Brenda Lucki's communications and federal government messages to Big Tech companies during the Freedom Convoy were “transitory.”
I was going through a stack of Access to Information files when I came across this shocking admission by the Privy Council (that’s Mark Carney’s personal bureaucracy). It was about a ministerial update that included a situation report from then-RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki.
It included an assessment of the convoy, her updates to the cabinet, her view of the operational reality, and her communications loop with federal officials.
Much of it was blacked out and redacted. But one unredacted line slipped through the cracks, revealing more about Ottawa’s behind-the-scenes coordination than they ever intended us to see.

These were key Freedom Convoy records. Not misplaced. Not archived. But they were deleted.
The feds claim these documents were “transitory” — but only in Ottawa could freezing bank accounts, jailing peaceful protesters and illegally invoking a wartime law be brushed off as a nothingburger.
And we now know that PCO staff checked in with Facebook, Google, Twitter, Reddit, TikTok, and Microsoft to ask what they were doing to remove “hateful content.”
So yes:
· There were communications.
· There was coordination.
· There was a record.
And now those underlying documents have conveniently vanished.
When federal bureaucrats call a document “transitory,” they’re using a loophole — a classification that lets them legally destroy records they claim have no “business value.”
In government-speak, a “transitory record” is:
A note or document they consider temporary
Something they say isn’t important enough to archive
A record they can dispose of without keeping a copy
A paper trail they can legally shred the moment they decide it’s no longer needed
In other words, a built-in excuse to delete things that might later make them look bad.
It’s meant for things like Post-its, draft notes, reminders — [not for documents tied to invoking the Emergencies Act].
So, when PCO calls Convoy records “transitory,” what they’re really saying is:
These records “didn’t matter,”
They weren’t worth preserving, and
They’ve already been deleted.
PCO told the Information Commissioner that the staff who handled all this have “moved on,” that they “don’t know where to look,” and that even if the records ever existed, they were too minor to save. A little clerical nothingburger. Nothing to see here.
Except there was something to see, which is precisely why they buried it.
And let’s stop pretending we don’t know why. Of course, they’re deleting those evidentiary records. The Federal Court ruled the government’s use of the Emergencies Act illegal — a Charter-violating overreach dressed up as policing.
So, what would those missing PCO documents show?
1. Didn’t the intelligence justify an emergency?
2. That police leadership — including Brenda Lucki — didn’t ask for it?
3. That the government leaning on Silicon Valley to police Canadian speech?
4. Was it political from day one?
5. We’ll never know — because the evidence evaporated right on schedule.

Appeals Court Sides With Hegseth On ‘Trans’ Military Ban, Scolds Biden Judge:
A federal appeals court on Tuesday sided with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and the Trump administration over its reimposed policy barring transgender Americans from serving in the U.S. military. At the same time, the appeals panel chided the lower federal district court judge appointed by Joe Biden over her ruling against the Pentagon.
“In our view, the court afforded insufficient deference to the Secretary’s considered judgment. Accordingly, we stay the preliminary injunction pending the government’s appeal,” the three-judge DC Circuit Court of Appeals said, scolding Judge Ana Reyes in a 2-1 decision.
“The United States military enforces strict medical standards to ensure that only physically and mentally fit individuals join its ranks. For decades, these requirements barred service by individuals with gender dysphoria, a medical condition associated with clinically significant distress,” wrote Judge Gregory G. Katsas, a Trump appointee, in the majority opinion, which was enjoined by Judge Neomi Jehangir Rao, another Trump appointee.
“The 2025 policy generally bars individuals with gender dysphoria from serving in the Armed Forces. The Secretary of Defense concluded that this policy would advance important military interests of combat readiness, unit cohesion, and cost control. In doing so, he consulted materials compiled to assess the 2016 and 2018 policy changes, as well as more recent studies regarding the impacts of gender dysphoria on those with the condition and on their military service. The district court nonetheless preliminarily enjoined the 2025 policy based on its own contrary assessment of the evidence,” said the ruling.
In January, President Donald Trump signed two executive orders — the “Restoring America’s Fighting Force” order and the “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness” order — directing the U.S. military to eliminate the use of race- or sex-based preferences in its operations and personnel policies.
The orders also instruct the Department of War to review internal practices related to gender identity and pronoun usage as part of a broader assessment of military standards and readiness.
In March, the Trump administration revised its policy regarding service members with gender dysphoria and asked Judge Reyes to lift her earlier preliminary injunction blocking implementation.
During the hearing, Reyes sharply questioned Justice Department attorneys, at one point asking whether they were aware of how military spending on Viagra compared to the costs associated with gender dysphoria treatment.
Hegseth took to the X platform in March to shred Reyes’ decision.
“Since ‘Judge’ Reyes is now a top military planner, /they can report to Fort Benning at 0600 to instruct our Army Rangers on how to execute High Value Target Raids…after that, Commander Reyes can dispatch to Fort Bragg to train our Green Berets on counterinsurgency warfare,” he wrote.
In May, the Supreme Court allowed the Trump Administration to enforce its ban on transgender troops as the legal challenges made it through the lower courts.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Monday erased a lower court ruling that had upheld New York’s strict school vaccine rules that don’t allow for religious exemptions and ordered judges to reconsider the case with a new focus on parental rights.
Amish parents had challenged the law, arguing New York once recognized religious exemptions but eliminated them in 2019, The Washington Times reported. A federal district court and then the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the families, however.
The Supreme Court told the appeals court to reevaluate the case in light of last term’s ruling involving the lack of parental opt-outs from the LGBTQ diversity curriculum in Montgomery County, Maryland. The justices vacated the 2nd Circuit opinion, removing it from effect.
Kelly Shackelford, president of First Liberty, which represented the Amish families, called the order a victory.
“The Amish community in New York wants to be left alone to live out their faith just like they have for 200 years,” he said. “The Amish take their faith very seriously and are simply asking the State of New York to respect their sincerely held beliefs.”

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito did not participate in the Supreme Court‘s consideration and decision regarding a petition involving President Donald Trump, according to the Court’s official order released Monday.
The case, MACTRUONG, DMT v. Trump, President of U.S., et al., saw the petition for a writ of certiorari dismissed with Alito explicitly taking “no part” in the matter. The Court did not specify the reason for Justice Alito’s nonparticipation.
The petitioner, known as DMT MacTruong, has been linked to a string of lawsuits that often involve claims of abuse of power, constitutional violations of the 13th and 14th Amendments, and intellectual property theft. The case that Alito did not participate in included allegations against President Trump and Vice President JD Vance of “egregious abuse of power, commission of high crimes, misdemeanours, treason,” and aimed to “impeach and remove defendants from the presidency and vice presidency.”
Newsweek reached out to the Supreme Court via email for comment.
Why It Matters
This dismissal follows a wider context in which Alito rejected calls to recuse himself from other Trump-related cases, particularly as the Supreme Court heard multiple high-profile cases connected to Trump and the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Alito is reported to have hung the U.S. flag outside his home on January 17, 2021, closely following the insurrection by Trump supporters at the Capitol. The inverted flag is a symbol that has become widely associated with the supporters of Trump’s unfounded claims that the 2020 election was stolen.
In his written responses to Congress concerning the controversy, Alito stated he was not involved in flying either the inverted American flag or the “Appeal to Heaven” flag and insisted that neither incident merited recusal under the court’s ethics standards.

What To Know
DMT MacTruong claimed in this case in part that he had helped Trump avoid impeachment, saying, “I helped him twice from being impeached. Once, I wrote him an email telling him, in substance, to shut up on the scandalous issue of whether he had used campaign funds to pay Stormy Daniels. He did listen, but his lawyer, Giuliani, did not and continued. I wrote another email to Giuliani telling him to shut up, also. He finally did, and as we all know, the scandal was forgotten.”
The suit also says that the president has conspired against them as part of his MAGA goal.
Other suits filed by the plaintiff have also included allegations about aliens or his personal philosophy, targeting Trump and other figures, showing a pattern of eccentric legal challenges against high-profile figures.
Dismissed at an early stage, the Supreme Court issued a decision declining to allow the case to proceed in forma pauperis, the legal process that enables those without the means to pay for court costs to pursue a case, and declined to review the case through certiorari.
According to the official Supreme Court order, “Justice Alito took no part in the consideration or decision of this motion and this petition.”
While Alito’s absence was formally noted, no reason was given in the court order. Supreme Court justices occasionally recuse themselves from cases when they perceive a conflict of interest or wish to avoid the appearance of one. The U.S. Supreme Court does not require justices to explain their recusals in most circumstances.
How Many Justices Are on the Supreme Court?
The U.S. Supreme Court consists of nine justices: one Chief Justice and eight associate justices. This number was established by Congress in 1869 and has remained unchanged since then. These justices hear and decide cases that shape American law and constitutional interpretation.

Alito’s nonparticipation in this minor case is distinct from his continued participation in other, more consequential Supreme Court cases involving Trump.
The Court is expected to release key rulings on major Trump- and January 6-related cases by the end of June 2025.

Tina Peters, a Colorado county clerk convicted for her role in challenging the 2020 election results, is enduring just that.
Peters, now serving a nine-year sentence on state charges in Colorado, was found guilty by a jury for breaching Mesa County voting systems in the aftermath of the 2020 election, the results of which were questioned by Donald Trump, as Fox News reports, alleging that she is suffering unduly harsh circumstances of incarceration.
As the only ally of President Donald Trump to be imprisoned over election dispute efforts, Peters has garnered significant support from the former president himself.
Peters’ Conviction Sparks Outrage Among Supporters
Following her sentencing, Peters’ ordeal took a darker turn about six months ago when she faced chilling threats from fellow inmates. A group reportedly threatened to stab and kill her.
Her attorney, Peter Ticktin, confirmed the severity of the situation, noting that the threats were serious enough to warrant a report to the FBI and Department of Justice. Agents even interviewed Peters to assess the danger she faced.
After the threats were documented, prison officials moved her to a different unit, presumably for her safety. But safety proved elusive, as Ticktin revealed she was violently attacked three times in the new location, with guards forced to intervene each time to stop the assaults.
Violent Attacks Raise Safety Concerns in Prison
"In the new unit, she was attacked by other prisoners three times in different locations where guards had to pull inmates off of her," Ticktin stated. It’s hard to fathom why a woman of her age, posing no apparent threat, would be left vulnerable to such brutality.
Even more baffling is the prison’s refusal to place Peters in a safe unit designated for inmates who avoid trouble. Ticktin pointed out that she applied for transfer to this unit six times, only to be denied each time without a clear justification.
This lack of protection raises serious questions about whether Peters is being deliberately exposed to danger. If there’s a haven within the facility, why isn’t it being offered to someone who is clearly a target?
Legal Battles and Political Standoffs Intensify
Earlier this year, Peters took legal action, filing a lawsuit to secure her release on the grounds that her free speech rights were violated. Unfortunately for her, Judge Scott Varholak rejected the suit on a recent Monday.
Adding to the political tension, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a Democrat, has made it clear he won’t consider a pardon for Peters. Polis has framed any potential intervention as a scheme to dodge accountability under state law.
Trump himself has been calling her an "innocent Political Prisoner being horribly and unjustly punished." He’s labelled her treatment as "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" and a "Communist persecution by the Radical Left Democrats" to obscure their own alleged misdeeds in 2020.

Sen. Susan Collins cites centrism as a reason for reelection, discusses ACA subsidies vote and Alzheimer’s disease work

WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Maine Republican U.S. Senator Susan Collins cited her place at the ideological center of American politics on Thursday as a reason for her reelection in 2026.
Collins, 72, reaffirmed her plans to seek a sixth, six-year term during a 30-minute conversation in Washington with Punchbowl News.
“I still plan to run for re-election,” she said, despite frustrations with current Senate dynamics and its increasingly irregular budgeting and appropriations process. “People who are in the middle are tending to leave. They’re tending to retire.”
Collins, who chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee, noted she is the only Republican among the U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives in the six New England states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island; a significant shift from the region’s bipartisan makeup when she joined the Senate in 1997.
Collins said, “I think that was much healthier. It was a much less polarized era, and it’s important to have the voices of people who want to solve problems. I’m not one, who tends to rant and rave on certain news shows. Instead, I like to bring people together to search for common ground.”
In June, Collins won the initial Joe Lieberman award from the group No Labels, which “recognizes courageous leaders who embody his legacy of principled pragmatism and bipartisanship.” The Lugar Center and Georgetown McCourt School of Public Policy ranked Collins first in its bipartisan index in 2023.
“What we need in this country is for those who are in the center to be as riled up and involved as those on the far left and the far right,” Collins said. “It is hard to get things done.”
Collins is unopposed in the Maine Republican primary scheduled for next June. Maine Governor Janet Mills and political newcomer Graham Platner, an oyster farmer and military veteran, are competing in the Democratic primary.
Regarding one of the more contentious issues of the moment, Collins said she would support a deal to extend the taxpayer-provided premium subsidies that were enhanced during the coronavirus pandemic for people enrolled in Affordable Health Care Act insurance plans – if there is an income cap on eligibility.
Collins said she discussed a possible deal during Thanksgiving recess on a Zoom call with a bipartisan group of 23 Senate and House members.
Collins said, “To me, what we should look at is a two-year package. In the first year, we really cannot make significant changes that will bring down the cost of health care. But what we could do is put an income cap on those who qualify for the enhanced tax credit.”
As she did in an interview with News Center Maine last month, to underscore her desire for an income cap, Collins cited the hypothetical example of a family of four living in Augusta, Maine, earning up to $325,000 in annual household income.
“Very few people in Augusta, Maine, would make that kind of money. You still qualify for some kind of subsidy,” Collins said. She also suggested eliminating zero-premium plans under the ACA.
Collins demurred when asked how she would vote next week on a pending Democratic proposal for a three-year extension with the current subsidies -- as is.
“I am not going to give you a preview on that,” Collins said.
Among her legislative accomplishments, Collins cited her Social Security Fairness Act, which became law in January. It removed two rules she called ‘unfair,” because they had reduced benefits for retired public sector employees who receive a pension from a job where they had not previously paid Social Security taxes.
The reforms will help 2.8 million retirees, including some who will receive over $1,000 more in monthly Social Security payments, according to the Social Security Administration.
Collins said, “I can’t tell you how many Mainers have come up to me, it made the difference between just barely getting by and having a comfortable standard of living. That really touches me, and it’s one of the things that motivates me.”
Collins also cited her legislative work on Alzheimer’s disease – the designated focus of her Punchbowl News appearance, which the Alzheimer’s Association cohosted.
Collins said her family’s personal experience with Alzheimer’s – which afflicted her grandfather, father, two uncles, and brother-in-law, all of whom have died – motivates her to co-chair the congressional task force on Alzheimer’s and seek more funding for treatment.
“From my perspective, there is no investment that is more worthwhile than biomedical research,” Collins said.

I was so taken by the way Glyn's book describes our relationship with Jesus that I wanted to share one of the daily readings with you. So I asked AI for help.
