A Living Sacrifice
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Food for Thought:
As a Chaplain, who on occasion, during, or after the passing of their loved one; I sometimes struggle to find and speak words that will stimulate and "desire" some kind of comforting words for the current reality.
Every now and then, I run across a beautiful "verbal picture" of extremely comforting thoughts for consideration; and I thought it may be something for you, sometime in the good news part of your blog.
It is entitled: "Miss Me But Let Me Go" - author unknown-
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little - - but not for long.
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love
that once we shared.
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we must all take,
And each must go alone.
It`s all part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely
and sick at heart,
Go to the friends we know,
Laugh at all the things we used to do.
Miss me, but let me go.
--------------------------------------------------------------
The above message of hope and or consideration will ride with me in my "travelling" Chaplain`s Bible, whenever I am attempting to comfort hurting heart strings.
Always in His service,
Fred Campbell
On the US as a Christian Nation

Article Breakdown — BLOG Summary [ChatGPT]
Headline: Was America Founded as a Christian Nation?

Conversational Summary
The article challenges the belief that the United States was founded as an explicitly Christian nation. While Christian teachings may have influenced some Founding Fathers, the author argues that the U.S. Constitution reflects Enlightenment principles of religious liberty, individual rights, and limited government.
The Constitution does not mention Jesus Christ or the Bible, prohibits religious tests for public office, and protects against government establishment of religion.
The author disputes Christian nationalist arguments that constitutional checks and balances prove the document's biblical origins. Instead, the article emphasizes that religious freedom protects both believers and nonbelievers from government-imposed religion.
Central Message: Christianity may have influenced America's founding culture, but the Constitution establishes a government without an official religion. The author concludes that Christians are called to love their neighbours rather than seek political control through religion.

DOJ hits steep proof bar in Alaska Senate fight over second Dan Sullivan on the ballot

Article Breakdown — Alaska Senate Election Controversy
Short Summary for Great ARTICLES Blog
A controversial Alaska Senate race has sparked a federal legal battle after two candidates with nearly identical names — Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan and independent Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. — appeared on the ranked-choice ballot.
The Department of Justice argues that voters could confuse the two candidates, potentially affecting the election outcome. Reports allege that individuals connected to Democrat Mary Peltola's campaign helped recruit the second Sullivan, although her campaign strongly denies involvement.
Main Points:
Ballot confusion: Two candidates with similar names could split votes unintentionally.
DOJ intervention: Federal lawyers seek to delay certification if potential confusion could change the outcome.
Legal challenge: Election experts warn that proving actual voter confusion requires substantial evidence, including witness testimony.
Election integrity: The dispute raises questions about fair elections, voter intentions, and the limits of federal intervention.
Bottom Line: The central issue is whether alleged ballot manipulation can be proven to have changed voters' choices. Courts must balance election integrity with respecting the ballots legitimately cast.

Dan’s Daily Briefing — October 29, 2026
BrightNews.ai was checked for overlooked free-speech, Canadian and preparedness stories. Its most prominent leads—including claims about French online-speech legislation—could not be independently verified strongly enough for today’s briefing.
1. Bank of Canada raises its policy rate to 2.5%
Facts: The Bank of Canada raised its overnight rate by 25 basis points to 2.5% on October 28, its first increase in more than three years.
The Bank expects inflation to approach 3.5% by year-end and average about 3% in 2027, partly because of elevated energy prices. Governor Tiff Macklem said another increase may be necessary if those costs spread into broader inflation, although the Bank will proceed cautiously. reuters.com
Why it matters to Dan: Variable mortgages, credit lines and business borrowing become more expensive immediately or at their next reset. That is particularly uncomfortable because the Bank is responding partly to an overseas energy shock rather than excessive Canadian demand.
For household preparedness, protect cash flow, reduce expensive variable debt and avoid assuming rates will quickly reverse. Monetary policy can discourage spending; it cannot manufacture diesel or reopen a shipping lane.

2. Ontario seeks greater control over municipally owned electricity utilities
Facts: Ontario introduced legislation on October 27 that would require local electricity distributors to prepare ten-year capital, financing and workforce plans. It would also mandate joint procurement in some areas, strengthen Buy Ontario and Buy Canada policies and apply a stress test before utilities distribute profits rather than reinvest them.
The province says electricity demand could grow by the equivalent of adding Toronto to the grid every six years. Ontario’s approximately 60 local distributors face an estimated C$103–120 billion in upgrades over the coming decades. Ontario Newsroom
Verification note: These are proposed legislative powers and government projections. The bill has not completed debate or received royal assent.
Why it matters to Dan: Ontario needs distribution capacity for housing, manufacturing, nuclear expansion and data centres. Long-range planning and domestic procurement make sense, but the legislation could also let the province direct capital plans and place future infrastructure costs onto current ratepayers.
The critical question is who pays. Extraordinary industrial users should finance the connections and capacity they require instead of quietly introducing their data-centre power bill to everyone else’s hydro statement.

3. U.S. warns allies to prepare for possible post-election Iran strikes
Facts: American officials have privately advised several Middle Eastern governments to prepare for possible renewed strikes against Iran after the November 3 midterm elections, according to diplomats briefed on the discussions.
The warnings reportedly include possible Iranian retaliation against energy facilities and other critical infrastructure. Approximately 9,000 additional U.S. troops and naval assets have moved into the region. Trump has not made a final decision, and Iran says it remains open to negotiations. apnews.com
Unconfirmed: No attack order has been issued publicly. The proposed timing, target list and duration remain undisclosed.
Why it matters to Dan: This helps explain why yesterday’s US$47-billion war-cost estimate may be a midpoint rather than a final total. Another round could threaten Hormuz traffic, Saudi infrastructure and fuel supplies just as winter freight and heating demand rise.
For Ontario, maintain ordinary fuel, food and cash reserves without panic buying. The most important distinction is between preparing for elevated risk and behaving as though an unconfirmed military option has already occurred.

4. Netanyahu leads Israel’s blocs—but still lacks a governing majority
Facts: With approximately 94% of valid ballots counted on October 29, Netanyahu’s right-wing and religious bloc was projected at roughly 54 of 120 Knesset seats—seven short of a majority.
Likud remained the largest party, while Gadi Eisenkot’s opposition parties held approximately 48 seats. Arab-led parties were projected to win about 18 seats, potentially making their support decisive. Official results are due November 4. apnews.com
Why it matters to Dan: This materially clarifies yesterday’s early count: Netanyahu was rebuked but remains politically alive. Eisenkot cannot easily replace him without Arab-party cooperation, defections from the right or a broader unity arrangement.
Israel could face weeks of bargaining or another election. Christians concerned about Israel should pray for security and wise government while remembering that biblical significance does not turn coalition arithmetic into divine endorsement.

5. Microsoft’s AI returns impress investors while Alphabet’s spending alarms them
Facts: Results released October 28 produced sharply different reactions to two enormous AI investment programs.
Microsoft reported stronger-than-expected cloud growth and US$18.6 billion in quarterly free cash flow, sending its shares higher after hours. Alphabet’s cloud business grew, but the company missed profit expectations and projected capital spending as high as US$205 billion this year; its shares fell roughly 10%. reuters.com
Why it matters to Dan: This is the first substantive answer to yesterday’s earnings preview: investors no longer reward AI spending merely for being enormous. They increasingly demand visible revenue, sustainable cash flow and a credible route to recovering infrastructure costs.
For media management, that favours practical tools—search, metadata extraction, transcription and controlled automation—over impressive demonstrations without measurable savings. The AI boom is entering its “show me the invoice and the benefit” phase, which is usually where adult supervision finally finds the meeting room.

The Rising popularity of Witchcraft
Google Trends shows that since 2021, there has been a 70 per cent increase in searches for the question "What is witchcraft?" in Canada. Social media has been one of the catalysts in transitioning witchcraft from a widely misunderstood practice into a cultural phenomenon. On TikTok, the subgenre #WitchTok has now amassed more than 9.1 million tagged videos, up 50 per cent in two years.
Stigma related to witchcraft have persisted. As recently as December 2018, a Canadian woman was charged with "pretending to practice witchcraft." Two days later, that section of the Criminal Code was formally repealed.

It's all about what you do

A Christian is a follower of Christ. It's what he does, or better yet, what He (Jesus) does (in you). Some put it this way, "It's not about your day job, it's about who you are in Christ." because that's your new identity when you join the family of God. It would be better to say, "It's not about your day job, it's about your new job in Christ" because each of us has a role to play. Yes, you become born again with a new identity as a child of God, but you also mature in Christ and take on a role in the Kingdom, maybe a worker, a caregiver, a prophet, a holy secret agent, or whatever God gives you when you are instructed and subsequently enabled by a gift of the Spirit, and whatever fruit of the Spirit grows in you.
This 45 minute video (below) explains the difference between character and purpose, between quantity and quality, between substance and application. Learn the importance of what something or someone is vs. what something or someone does. Yes, it places a greater emphasis on "works" as one matures. It also helps you understand why kings were called gods, not because of who they were but because of what they had to do. And, yes, it also helps to understand what it means to be called a "vicar" of Christ.
In the end, this video helps to heal misunderstandings between Christians with different traditions.
