Lockdowns begin:

Sderot residents reportedly cut off – from water and electricity.

Israel’s first lockdown over “security concerns” is underway as residents of the city of Sderot are ordered to lock themselves in their homes.


The city of Sderot, which borders the Gaza Strip, was invaded by Muslim forces Saturday. The invaders, said to be Hamas operatives, entered from Gaza without resistance despite Israel’s sophisticated technology and highly trained security forces. The Muslim operatives massacred over 700 Israelis in nearby communities — including Sderot — and took approximately 100 captives back into Gaza. They easily conquered Sderot’s police station, where it reportedly took Israeli forces six hours to arrive.


Sderot’s residents were ordered to barricade themselves in their homes and not open the door for anyone due to fears of Muslim infiltrators posing as Israeli police officers or soldiers. But according to Israeli media, the order remains in effect even as the threat of infiltration has been lifted.

Israel’s Kan News also reported Monday that Sderot residents have been disconnected from water and electricity since the invasion Saturday.


“We don’t have water or electricity. We have nothing,” said Sderot resident Amnon Twito. “They keep telling us ‘In another couple hours, in another couple hours, in another couple hours’. . .there is nothing.”

But Sderot residents are not the only ones subject to restrictions. Citizens in other areas — including Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem — have been instructed by Israel’s Home Front Command to limit outdoor gatherings to 10 people and indoor gatherings to 50 people. Schools in those “orange” areas have been ordered closed, and taxpayers may only go to work if there is a bomb shelter close by.

As during the COVID-19 pandemic, Israelis have reacted to the restrictions with enthusiasm, with some demanding even more measures.

Frontline News reported Sunday that the municipality of Be’er Yaakov, a town in central Israel, announced that at least two mobile surveillance cameras were being stationed at the town’s entrances and exits. Mayor Nissim Gozlan explained that with each camera carrying a visibility range of one kilometer (0.62 mile), authorities could see a kilometer in every direction near the town’s border.

Although Be’er Yaakov, which neighbors Tel Aviv, lies approximately 40 miles from the Gaza Strip and was not near the invaded areas, residents cheered the government’s decision.


“Well done!” several Israelis commented on the municipality’s post as they expressed their pride in Mayor Gozlan, whom they called their “champion.” One resident asked Gozlan to block the town’s entrances and vet each entrant. Another requested even more cameras.

We have to, because we don’t have the massive budgets of the mainstream media.

We’ve got all of our cameras and laptops for editing our videos. And we're also working on important equipment — like security gear, including bulletproof vests if needed.

We’re not sure how long we’ll go there for — I can’t imagine it would be less than a week. It may turn out to be much longer — I’ve only bought a one-way ticket for now.

Between our economy-class airfare and hotels, our safety equipment and our modest daily budget for food, I think a two-week trip could cost us up to $30,000 for the two of us.

That’s peanuts to the mainstream media, but it’s a huge amount for us. But we have to do this: we simply can’t trust the mainstream media to tell us the truth about this war.

Morning Update – ISRAEL:

Israel announced Tuesday it had secured its border after Hamas militants broke out of the blockaded Gaza Strip and into nearby Israeli towns in an unprecedented surprise attack on Saturday, killing dozens and kidnapping others. On Sunday, Israel declared war, ordering a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. On Monday, Israel halted entry of food, fuel and supplies for 2.3 million people.

Yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to punish Hamas, the Islamist group that rules Gaza. Casualties on both sides are expected to keep rising, as clashes continued in several Israeli towns where pockets of Hamas fighters were holding out.

Here’s the latest:

Israeli counteroffensive

Israel amassed about 360,000 reservists near Gaza ahead of an expected invasion of the narrow and densely populated strip. Hamas, meanwhile, continued to fire rockets at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. There has been an intense wave of more than 1,000 Israeli air strikes since Saturday, which is expected to precede a ground assault and an attempt to liberate hostages.

Hostages and victims

Hamas says it is holding more than 100 hostages in Gaza, a number that reportedly includes three Canadians. One of them is believed to be Vivian Silver, a 74-year-old peace activist whose family hasn’t heard from her since her last text messages from a hiding place in a closet.

Hamas said yesterday that it would start executing hostages if Israel didn’t halt its attacks on Gaza’s civilians. Earlier, Hamas had said four of the Israelis it had taken hostage had died because of the air strikes.

Islamic Jihad, a separate militant formation that joined Hamas in the assault, has said it is separately holding 30 hostages. The two groups have said they would trade their hostages for the thousands of Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons. An Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesperson said yesterday it was not at the moment negotiating for the release of hostages. But Foreign Affairs Minister Eli Cohen acknowledged that many people from various countries were among the hostages: “We are committed to bring them back, in the spirit of mutual responsibility.”

International reaction

U.S. President Joe Biden said yesterday that an unspecified number of U.S. citizens are still unaccounted for as he reiterated his vow to back Israel in the fight and promised help to end the hostage crisis. His administration has scrambled warships and planes to the region, announced further military aid for Israel and pressed other regional countries to denounce the attack in a bid to contain the fighting.

Over the weekend, both the U.S. and Canada condemned Hamas’s attack and backed Israel’s right to defend itself.

Total deaths and injuries so far

Saturday’s surprise attack killed more than 900 people in Israel and wounded 2,400 others. Authorities in Gaza say at least 704 people had been killed and close to 3,700 wounded within the territory in airstrikes since Saturday. At least one Canadian has been killed, a 33-year-old Montreal man who was attending a music festival. Israeli rescue service Zaka says more than 100 bodies have been recovered from a small farming community called Beeri, which was the scene of a hostage standoff. In the Hamas attack on Israel, at least 11 Americans are dead, along with 12 from Thailand and 10 from Nepal.

Rep. Kevin Hern drops out of Republican House Speaker race:

While the House speakership battle took a backseat to the developing crisis in Israel, some major moves were announced this week.

According to the Daily Caller, one of the House Republicans vying for the gavel announced that he'd rather aim for party unity, and announced he was dropping out of the race for the speakership.

On Saturday, Oklahoma Rep. Kevin Hern (R) announced that he's no longer interested in seeking the powerful leadership position.


Hern was widely touted as one of the frontrunners for the speaker's gavel, but made clear in a recent post that he's more concerned about bringing the Republican Party together at this time, while it remains divided.

"I’ve been on the phone 50+ hours with Republican members and what’s clear is we all want UNITY. I believe a three-man race for Speaker will create even more division and make it harder to elect a Speaker," Hern wrote.

In his statement, Hern said he relied on prayer to determine whether or not he should make a run for the gavel.


"Following the results of the vote on Tuesday, many of you reached out to me encouraging me to run for Speaker of the House. I prayerfully considered those conversations, and over the past four days have carefully examined the question of who our next Speaker should be and whether I should announce my candidacy for the role," his statement read.


The statement added, "I called, texted, or met in-person with all 221 members of the House Republican Conference, asking each member what they want to see in the next Speaker and how we can move forward as a Majority. The overwhelming response I heard from you is that we must unify and come out of this situation stronger as a Majority. While many of you emphasized the necessity for new blood in our leadership, the need for unity comes first and foremost."


As it stands, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) are currently the frontrunners for the speakership.

Former President Donald Trump was suggested as a replacement by some House Republicans, and he even agreed to step in on a short-term basis, if need be.

The lack of a House speaker has also thrown an unexpected wrench in the gears as far as the Israel/Hamas situation. Many have wondered how Congress, if need be, can approve aid packages and other assistance to the American ally.

Hopefully, House Republicans get their act together and figure something out sooner than later.

Ingraham added, “Or Hunter Biden. They are still trying to deny that is even his laptop.”

Hemingway continued, “At the same time that the sitting president has issues here. It is just so absurd to say it’s not two standards when we are living through every single day and he should not be allowed to have this kind of flippant response.”

In addition to going after Trump and allegedly impeding investigations into the Bidens, Garland has also aggressively pursued pro-lifers and parents protesting at school board meetings.


Hemingway added, “It’s a real threat to the republic what we are going through. People have lost confidence in our Department of Justice. That’s a very serious problem. The fact that Donald Trump is doing so well not just in the Republican primary but even in head-to-head matchups against Joe Biden shows that the American people do not view these indictments as legitimate.”

The Democrats’ blind pursuit of Trump is decimating all democratic norms.

They are establishing the precedent of jailing political opponents in banana republic fashion.
