High school principals, obligated to obey the law, prohibit it. Groups of young Muslims (mostly boys) respond with acts of looting.
Inside classrooms, in high schools and primary schools, the French educational system is subject to Islamic intimidation. In 2002, historian George Bensoussan published Les territoires perdus de la république ("The Lost Territories of the Republic"), in which he disclosed that it was now impossible to talk about the Holocaust in high schools in France. In 2017, he published Une France soumise ("A Submissive France"), which shows that the situation had become even worse. It was no longer possible, in French high schools and primary schools, to speak of secularism and tolerance. One teacher, Samuel Paty spoke of secularism, and on October 16, 2020, paid with his life.

Sen. Manchin blasts Biden as ‘divorced from reality’ for vowing to shut down coal plants:
The Washington Examiner reports that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) just blasted President Joe Biden as “divorced from reality.”
This follows the comments Biden recently made, in which he vowed to shut down coal plants and replace them with green alternatives.
The remarks came on Friday during an event that was held in Carlsbad, California.
“I was in Massachusetts about a month ago on the site of the largest old coal plant in America,” Biden said. “Guess what? It cost them too much money. They can’t count. No one is building new coal plants because they can’t rely on it. Even if they have all the coal guaranteed for the rest of the existence of the plant.”
Biden, accordingly, stated, “so, it’s going to become a wind generation.”
He continued:
And, all they’re doing is it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on, we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power, also providing tax credits to help families buy energy efficient appliances, whether it’s your refrigerator or your coffee maker, for solar panels on your home, weatherize your home, things that save an average, experts say, a minimum of $500 a year for the average family. [emphasis added]
As could be expected considering West Virginia’s relationship with coal mining, Manchin didn’t take too kindly to Biden’s remarks. Manchin, in fact, after blasting Biden, even called for the president to apologize to those working in the coal industry.
“President Biden’s comments are not only outrageous and divorced from reality, they ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs,” Manchin said in a statement released on Saturday.
“Comments like these,” Manchin continued, “are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden and instead believe he does not understand the need to have an all-in energy policy that would keep our nation totally energy independent and secure.”
Manchin’s remarks were apparently so penetrating that the White House felt that it needed to offer a response, and, in doing so, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre actually walked back Biden’s vow to end coal mining in favor of green alternatives.
“The President’s remarks yesterday have been twisted to suggest a meaning that was not intended,” Jean-Pierre claimed. “He regrets it if anyone hearing these remarks took offense. The President was commenting on a fact of economics and technology: as it has been from its earliest days as an energy superpower, America is once again in the midst of an energy transition.”
Jean-Pierre went on to say that the Biden administration will continue to look to go green in regard to energy, and, in the process, she claimed,“no one will be left behind.”
