FBI Insiders Warn Of #1 Threat to Americans’ Cell Phones
FBI Director Christopher Wray expressed “great worry” over China-owned TikTok, warning senators on Tuesday that permitting the Chinese app to continue functioning in the US could pose a national security risk.
According to Bloomberg, Wray told Congress on Tuesday, “Under Chinese law, Chinese enterprises are expected to practically — and I’m using shorthand here — basically do anything that the Chinese govt. wants them to do in terms of providing information or working as a tool of the Chinese government.”
The FBI director, speaking to the House Homeland Security Committee, stressed that this is “enough reason to be exceedinglyconcerned.”
Wray went on to say that one of his fears is that the Chinese Communist Party may use TikTok to manipulate the information or software of millions of users.
Furthermore, he stated that the app’s recommendation mechanism, which selects which videos TikTok users will be seeing next, “may be exploited for influencing operations if they so desire.”
According to the New York Post, Wray also stated that China has become the most active foreign entity in collecting Americans’ business and personal data.
“China’s enormous hacking operation is the world’s largest, and they’ve stolen more Americans’ corporate and personal data than all the other countries combined,” FBI Director stated.
Since 2019, when the Trump admin’s Committee on International Investment started considering a merger between the app’s main firm, ByteDance, and Musically, TikTok has been under examination by US regulators.
The Chinese app is on the verge of striking an agreement with the Treasury Dept’s Committee on International Investment in the United States (CFIUS), which evaluates national security threats posed by foreign enterprises.
However, even if the US government establishes a security deal to prevent the platform from being blocked, TikTok users’ risk having their personal data exposed to Chinese hackers and espionage, according to national security experts.
It was claimed last month that TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, intended to utilize the app to track the physical whereabouts of specific American citizens.

Another video taken two months ago purports to show western shops that have closed due to sanctions, but there are lots of stores full of everything a person could ask for. The variety is much bigger than what I'm used to seeing.
The mall is great, modern, has everything, some stores are closed, great video, great sharing!
Note:
They say hundreds of retail chains have left Russia, but it still looks about the same.
You won't see girls in tight "second skin" leotards or whatever they're showing off here in our London malls.
And it doesn't look like they're suffering from the western sanctions either. Look how much they have on their shelves compared to the olddays under Communism. Now it's us who will be looking for products in the near future.
Those are not Christmas trees. They're "New Year" trees. Russians keep Christ in Christmas in January, not Santa.

“History is being made at Harvard. The Ivy League university named its 30th president last week, and the honor went to political scientist Claudine Gay who currently serves as the dean of Harvard’s faculty of arts and sciences. She’s set to become only the second woman to lead Harvard, and the first person of color to serve in that role in the school’s nearly 400-year history,” noting how it is a “remarkable” achievement considering the institution’s racist past.
“Well, it is certainly a well-deserved honor, but, and there is a big but to this story, President Gay will take over at Harvard next July, right around the same time that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn the university’s long-standing race-conscious admissions policy,” she added. “This means that Claudine Gay will likely be stepping into a huge legal and political mess as soon as she’s sworn in. Now, I feel this so acutely. In 2016, I became the interim dean at Berkeley law after a major sexual harassment scandal. It was obviously an amazing career opportunity for me, but it was also amazingly fraught with career risks, and I know I’m not alone.”
“This feels like a really vicious feedback loop where women are essentially set up to fail and, when they do fail, critics say, see, should have never had a woman. That’s affirmative action at work,” Murray responded. “We know this phenomenon in real life. We have a sitting member of the Supreme Court, Ketanji Brown Jackson, who herself faces a sort of glass cliff situation. She’s the first woman of color, the first black woman, rather, to serve on the high court. Later in the segment, Goss Graves said, “You know, the irony that she joined the Court in the wake of Dobbs, during the arguments for the affirmative action cases, the cases before the court on voting, on LGBTQ equality, and more.”
“And in many ways, she’s sort of a singular voice around blackness on the Court right now. It is a burden that no human can bear . . .,” she added. “It’s too much for any singular person’s shoulders, but it is exciting to see nonetheless, I have to say.”
