Death of the Watchers

In our last article, we argued that the Hebrew word netser in Isaiah 14:19 was actually a homonym—an Egyptian word that meant “divinized dead god.”


Now, why a loanword from Egypt? The influence of Judah’s southwestern neighbour is evident in the book of Isaiah. The prophet warned Hezekiah not to trust in an Egyptian alliance to protect his kingdom (Isaiah 30:1–2, 31:1–3), which Isaiah called “a covenant with death” (Isaiah 28:15). However, recently discovered seals from King Hezekiah feature the image of a scarab (dung beetle), a sacred symbol in Egypt So, borrowing an Egyptian word would not have been unusual for Isaiah, especially given the poor opinion he had of Judah’s neighbor.


The adjective translated “abhorred” or “abominable,” Hebrew taʿab, is significant. It modifies the noun netser, which normally had a positive connotation. In this context, taʿab may suggest “ritually impure.”[1] Isaiah made a profound declaration here about the rebel from Eden: The “loathed branch” was actually an “unclean god,” and in the context of the Rephaim greeting the rebel upon his arrival in Sheol, the prophet described an unclean god of the dead, which was the role assigned to Lucifer after he was kicked out of Eden.


What makes Isaiah 14 even more fascinating is another loanword, this time from Aramaic, a few verses further:

May the offspring of evildoers nevermore be named! Prepare slaughter for his sons because of the guilt of their fathers, lest they rise and possess the earth, and fill the face of the world with cities.— Isaiah 14:20b–21


We know that God is not opposed to cities as such. He inspired Nehemiah, Ezra, Zerubbabel, and others to rebuild Jerusalem and its walls. So, how are we supposed to understand this?


Here’s the key: The Hebrew word for “city” is ʿiyr. In Aramaic, the very same word means “Watcher.” The plural forms are ʿiyrim and ʿiyrin, respectively. Thanks to Dr. Michael S. Heiser, we have a good example of an Aramaic word that was imported into the Bible and then corrected with the -im plural suffix, transforming naphil(a)(“giant”) into nephilim, according to Hebrew rules of word formation.[2]

You can see how that would change the passage above in an important way:

Prepare slaughter for his sons because of the guilt of their fathers, lest they rise and possess the earth, and fill the face of the world with Watchers.— Isaiah 14:21, modified, emphasis added


That puts a new spin on the whole chapter. Isaiah may have intended to record God’s judgment against the offspring of the rebel angels on Hermon, the Watchers, and their progeny, the Nephilim. A similar prophecy was uttered by the prophet-for-prophet, Balaam:


[A] star shall come out of Jacob, and a sceptre shall rise out of Israel; […]

And one from Jacob shall exercise dominion and destroy the survivors of cities [the Watchers]!”— Numbers 24:17b, 19


Derek stumbled onto this new understanding of Isaiah 14 while researching his 2018 book, Last Clash of the Titans. At the time, even though it seems clear in the context of the prophesied destruction of Lucifer and the Rephaim (i.e., the Nephilim), he didn’t consider that the rest of that section of the chapter might also refer to supernatural beings rather than nation-states:


“I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord of hosts, “and will cut off from Babylon [ḇāḇel] name and remnant, descendants and posterity,” declares the Lord. “And I will make it a possession of the hedgehog, and pools of water, and I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” declares the Lord of hosts.

The Lord of hosts has sworn:


“As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand, that I will break the Assyrian [ʾaššūr] in my land, and on my mountains trample him underfoot; and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden from their shoulder.”

This is the purpose that is purposed concerning the whole earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.

For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?— Isaiah 14:22–27, emphasis added


We suggest the passage above refers to the nations of Babylon and Assyria as well as the spiritual entities connected to Babel and the “king-god,” Assur.

First, remember that “Babylon” was a name applied to more than one city in Mesopotamia, including the ancient city of Eridu, the site of Babel. In fact, the Hebrew ḇāḇel translated “Babylon” in Isaiah 14:22 is the same word rendered “Babel” in Genesis 10 and 11.


God has promised to destroy “the offspring of evildoers”—the “sons of God” from Genesis 6—to prevent them from “fill[ing] the face of the earth with Watchers.” The prophecy against ḇāḇel continues that thought. His promise to “cut off from [ḇāḇel] name and remnant, descendants and posterity” is more than just a threat to eradicate the Chaldeans, who ruled Babylon in the time of Isaiah.


The “name” in Old Testament theology is more complex and nuanced than a personal pronoun or a reputation. Without going too far down a rabbit trail, the “name” in the religious context of the ancient Near East was another aspect of a supernatural being. For example, God told Moses and the Israelites to obey the angel He sent ahead of them “for my Name is in Him.”[3] In short, “the Name in the OT is both Yahweh and a representation of Him, depending on the context. It’s not merely a phrase, but a being.”[4]

The pagans had a similar concept.


As we noted earlier, the Rephaim were summoned through a necromancy ritual to Mount Hermon, where “the name of El revivified the dead, the blessings of the name of El revivified the heroes.”[5] It appears that God has decreed the absolute obliteration of the entities connected to Babel, as well as the destruction of Babylon.

The latter was fulfilled in 536 BC when Cyrus took the city; the former should be viewed in the context of Psalm 82, a heavenly courtroom scene where God decreed the death of the gods.[6]

Did you know that as of December 31, 2025, nearly five million temporary visas in Canada expired, and the government doesn’t know how many of those people became illegal immigrants by refusing to leave?


As Canada enters January 2026, the Liberal government is attempting to project an image of action on immigration. However, the system has fundamentally lost its capacity for self-correction and enforcement.


The widely cited figure of 4.9 million expiring visas has now passed, and by its own admission, the federal government has no way of knowing whether millions of people have actually left the country.


The current system is facing a bottleneck. By the end of 2026, the Canadian government expects another 927,000 work permits to expire. Broken down quarterly, that’s 315,000 people with temporary status with expired visas by March. We are effectively demanding a population equivalent to a mid-sized Canadian city to simply disappear overnight. Perhaps they will, but if the government is so confident in the process, why have they provided so few answers to the Canadian public?


In the recent past, Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab declined to disclose the number of illegal immigrants in Canada when questioned last summer. Pressed on whether these individuals should face deportation by Conservative immigration critic and MP Michelle Rempel Garner, Diab stated the Liberal government merely “expect[s]” them to leave.


“We have rules in this country, and we expect people to follow those rules,” Diab said.

Based on Diab’s assertions, the entire immigration system seemingly runs on administrative hope and faith that temporary immigrants, who have compelling reasons to remain in Canada, will leave voluntarily.


Former Immigration Minister Marc Miller had also admitted to a House committee last year that simply “nobody really knows” how many people stay behind when their status ends.


The government’s plan for 2026 relies on the dubious principle of “voluntary compliance.” Their official statement that “the vast majority leave voluntarily” is essentially asking the public to “just shut up and trust us.”


The government’s other defence, to quiet critics, is that removals (deportations) are at “record highs.” The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has touted roughly 19,000 enforced removals in 2025. While that sounds impressive to those not paying attention, it is a drop in the bucket compared to the number currently in the country.


Consider the non-compliant international student crisis. If 47,000 individuals entered on student visas but potentially never stepped foot in a classroom, and we can only remove 18,000 people a year in total across all categories, it would take nearly three years just to find and deport the students who lied to get here.


By relying almost entirely on “voluntary compliance” for individuals whose livelihoods and life savings are tied to remaining in Canada, the government has created an enforcement vacuum.


This is being done without adequate enforcement or tracking, creating a situation where violations are not deterred by consequences. That is the scale of the crisis the government has chosen to ignore.

California Republican Congressman Doug LaMalfa has suddenly passed away at the age of 65.

National Republican Campaign Committee Chairman Richard Hudson called LaMalfa 'a principled conservative and a tireless advocate for the people of Northern California.'

'He was never afraid to fight for rural communities, farmers, and working families. Doug brought grit, authenticity, and conviction to everything he did in public service,' Hudson said in a statement on Tuesday.


House Republican Majority Whip Tom Emmer described LaMalfa as 'a loving father and husband, and staunch advocate for his constituents and rural America.'

LaMalfa's death imperils the Republican House majority, leaving Speaker Mike Johnson with just a three-vote margin after the formal resignation of Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Greene on Monday. 


House makeup is presently 218 Republicans to 213 Democrats, leaving Republicans able to lose no more than two votes on any party-line measure, assuming full attendance and participation.


It was also revealed Tuesday that Indiana Republican Congressman Jim Baird, aged 80, has been hospitalized after a car accident.

Baird's office said that the lawmaker is expected to make a full recovery after his car was struck. Donald Trump said Baird's wife was also hospitalized but will be OK during an address to Republicans at the Kennedy Center.

Democrats are set to gain one additional vote in their caucus after a runoff election in Texas later this month to replace Congressman Sylvester Turner, who passed away last March, taking the Republican margin down to two votes. 

Another special election will take place to replace former New Jersey Democratic Congresswoman Mikie Sherill in April after she was elected the state's governor in November.


Trump paid tribute to LaMalfa during his address on Tuesday, noting that the lawmaker voted with him '100 percent of the time.' 

The President said that he was thinking about not even doing the speech in [LaMalfa's] honour, but then I decided that I have to do it in his honour. I'll do it in his honour, because he would have wanted it that way.'

LaMalfa served as Chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus and was a member of the Agriculture Committee. 


Before his election to Congress in 2012, LaMalfa served in the California Senate and state assembly. He was also a fourth-generation rice farmer.

After the passage of California's Prop 50 redistricting ballot measure last November, LaMalfa's seat landed on the Democrat list of pickup targets in this year's midterm election.

LaMalfa planned to run again for his seat, despite the new district lines.

The Mystery of Ez. 38 & 39 vs. the Psalm 83 war

Chuck says it's odd that Ez. 39 does not mention any of the nations which surround Israel today, and he asks us, "Is there an overlooked event that precedes the ill-fated invasion attempt by Turkey and their allies" in Psalm 83?  

 

Don, we say "yes", and that event is the expansion of Israel, thanks to an arrangement with Saudi Arabia to build Neom (Ez. 39). The Psalm 83 war represents a revived Ottoman Empire to counter that.


More than that, Chuck brings out that "not all Jews are Jews".  He identifies the descendants of Esau as Edom (Idumea).  In our next video, we call them Rhadanites after the idol-worshippers who started banking in Rhadan (Bagdad).  They are the evil force at the pinnacle of Freemasonry, aka Shriners!  And as Chuck points out, they are condemned more often in the bible than any other people!

 



Yes!  Human effort to establish greater Israel via Neom is destined to fail, and disillusion all the Muslims and secular Jews and "outer ring" nations.

Jonathan Cahn is very wise and perceptive.  If he used the Septuagint, I believe Jonathan would see how God will confound us again by using Russia to save Christianity, and then boom! Satan will hijack the country, establish a Czar and use Russia to persecute Christians and Jews in Israel.

 

Ezekiel 39:6  And I will send a fire on (KJV) Magog,.... Of the land of Magog; see Ezekiel 38:2, while Gog is in the land of Israel, and he and his army perish there, his country shall be destroyed by fire, or by some judgment or judgments of God, which shall consume like fire.

 The Septuagint version renders it, "I will send a fire on Gog," not Magog; (Gog is Turkey, Magog is the "belly" of Russia, all the "stans" nations where Islamic faith predominates.)

The UNITED STATES, INC. entered into bankruptcy by its owner, Pope Francis, on 24 Sept. 2015 – a Chapter 7 liquidation that ended on 5 Nov. 2020. That meant that Biden’s 2020 Election to President of The UNITED STATES INC. government was invalid because US Inc. was a bankrupt corporation.


On Friday 6 Nov. 2020 a huge Military Sting Operation was going on based on the watermarked ballots cast in the 2020 Election. Every official voting ballot had a watermark that couldn’t be seen. As votes were put into the system, the government Quantum Computer verified if the ballot was valid or not. The system was said to have verified that Trump had an 80% vote that assured him four more years in office.


It was also reported that a CIA software program “Hammer” in voting machines nationwide had switched Trump votes to Biden, the number of which was dependent upon how much Trump was ahead. The switching was done over the internet by a CIA office in Germany overseen by then CIA Director Has….


According to poll watchers, ongoing vote counts in key states also resulted in tallying illegally cast ballots. That came from poll watchers allowed to watch, so many of those official poll watchers were refused even their right and duty to oversee the counting of ballots nationwide.

The Chinese Communist Party sent the Dems 80 million counterfeit ballots that were confiscated at ports, though no one knows how many came in undetected.

These big tech companies and other globalist organizations were all under criminal investigation by the Trump Administration for rigging past elections while banning conservatives from their right to Free Speech.


A whistleblower within the US Postal Service said he was ordered by his supervisor to illegally back date newly found ballots to November 3rd, 2020.


Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell claimed that there has been obstruction to ballot checking.
