Yesterday [SUNDAY] Some of us joined MP Andrew Lawton and two additional MPs for an update on Bill C-9 and its likely impact on Canadians, [in particular CHRISTIANS]!
We met at the Legion Hall in Byran... A room that accommodates 200 had 300+ show up [Many were standing against the walls... I’m sure that had the Fire Marshal been there, many would have been turned away.
Andrew has just returned from the Maritime Provinces and a quick trip out West [Saskatoon]... he stated that he has had good turnouts indicating great consternation on the part of ‘The PEOPLE’ as to what the Government has in mind by putting forward these SIMPLE CHANGES [did anyone notice the ‘crossed-fingers’ behind the backs of our Political Leaders]!
My good friend Fred Campbell was with me in two of the 200 chairs available.
Fed has extensive experience at the Executive Level within International Companies in Presidential and CEO capacities. In his later years, he was invited to study and become a Chaplain, recognized in the USA and Canada.
We talked after that session in Byran about what we now believe that the Government has in mind – MORE CONTROL!
I first got to know Fred while joining him on the BOARD of Faith FM Radio.
We managed to accomplish much... While I got to appreciate the Wisdom from a well-seasoned Good Friend.

Every now and then, my mind will automatically reach a point where I ask myself … what is wrong with this picture? My background and past experience dictate that this particular item is serious and needs immediate correction of some kind.
There is a saying … “you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink,” and what most people would think is that they should not share any potential solutions publicly, for fear of castigation. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I believe that “together” we are smarter than we are individually.
What is often needed to resolve a problem is for someone to take it up the hill and at least start it rolling down towards a potential resultant conclusion.
Yesterday, I attended a Federal Canada political discussion re “Bill C9”, where hundreds of upset Canadian London, Ontario voters gathered to air their collective “disgust” for what our Liberal Cabinet wants to accomplish through the rapidly being pushed C9 bill.
The idea of this proposed quick change to our currently “Free speech” comments (of the past 100 plus years) is to undo and reverse specific items so as to institute “Hate speech, definitions, c/w accompanied criminal charges, fines, etc.
During the question-and-answer session, one after another kept asking “why are they doing this” … and I wanted to yell out each time “FOR CONTROL” … the Liberals want to legally tell us “what to do, and when we can do it” … just as they currently do in China, etc.
I also spoke to Andrew Lawton afterwards re my suggestive fix of the current revolving door “bail system” – as well as free trade with/from democratically elected countries, and zero trade from the rest.
Time to wake up … as it will be almost impossible to undo some of what is proposed in the current Liberal government agenda.
I get tired of hearing either “The Right” or “The Left” in the news.
If you want to learn something that speaks the “Absolute Truth” – look up in the (King James) Bible – Ecclesiastes 10:02, and all will be made clearer to you as it defines difference. [Yes! There is POLOTICS in Scripture. This comment is added by me... Don]
I often hear others say that WW3 is coming … I cannot agree … I believe it is already here, and it is ongoing between two separate entities (good or evil), and most do not even realize it.
May God have mercy on their souls.

Thank You for Showing Up – Next Steps on Bill C-9
Thank you to everyone who attended the Bill C-9 Town Hall this past Sunday. It was encouraging to see the Byron Legion filled — standing room only. That kind of turnout matters, and it sends a message that Canadians are paying attention.
We would also like to thank MP Andrew Lawton, MP Jamil Jivani, MP Kurt Holman, and Adam Benni for helping make this town hall possible and for creating space for open discussion and public engagement on an issue that affects all Canadians.
Concerns about freedom of religion and freedom of expression are not partisan issues. They cut across political lines, and every Canadian has a stake in ensuring these fundamental freedoms are protected.
As Andrew Lawton emphasized in his closing remarks, what happens next depends on continued citizen action.

Report your firearms or face criminal charges
The Liberal government’s national gun confiscation program officially begins today, starting a countdown for millions of licensed firearm owners.
The Liberal government’s national gun confiscation program officially begins today, starting a countdown for millions of licensed firearm owners. Law-abiding citizens now have a few short months to declare legally-obtained firearms that Ottawa has outlawed or potentially face criminal charges.
Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree announced the “Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program (ASFCP) over the weekend. He confirmed gun owners who fail to declare their firearms by March 31, 2026, will be considered in violation of the law once the amnesty period expires.
The nationwide program was announced after a late-2025 pilot project in Cape Breton only collected 25 guns from 16 people, despite a significant government publicity campaign.
Those who fail to report their legally obtained firearms risk losing their Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) and could face criminal liability once the amnesty period expires.
The Liberal government banned more than 2,500 makes and models of firearms it labels “assault-style” nearly five years ago, despite most having been legally owned, registered and never used in crimes.
“Assault-style firearms do not belong in our communities,” Anandasangaree said at a press conference in Quebec. “These types of firearms were designed as weapons of war. Prohibiting and removing them from our communities is an important part of our government’s commitment to tackling gun violence and keeping Canadians safe.”
He urged owners to declare their firearms to seek compensation, adding: “While participation is voluntary, abiding by the law is not.”
The program’s declaration phase begins Monday. Ottawa plans to contact over two million PAL holders, urging licensed firearm owners to declare their now-contraband firearms through an online portal or by mail “to ensure they receive compensation.”
The federal government allocated almost $250 million to compensate firearm owners for handing in the weapons, but said compensation was not guaranteed. The Liberals anticipate the cost will allow the “buy back” of about 136,000 firearms.
While the government initially suggested a cost of around $200 million for the program, the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) later estimated it could reach $750 million or more. Some critics argue that once administrative and policing costs are factored in, the true price tag could exceed $2 billion.
After the declaration period, “eligible participants” are required to schedule an appointment for collection by the RCMP, police of jurisdiction or a “mobile collection unit” to be validated and destroyed.
“All owners who do not participate in the program must dispose of or permanently deactivate their prohibited firearms and devices before the amnesty period ends on October 30, 2026,” the federal announcement said. “Owners in possession of a prohibited firearm or device following this date will be non-compliant with legislation and could face the loss of their PAL, as well as criminal liability.”
Anandasangaree said over 2,000 firearms a year are stolen from legal firearms owners and “could be used in mass shootings.”
Firearm rights advocates criticized the program, and provinces like Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba have formally refused to allow provincial police resources to be used for it.
Tracy Wilson of the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights accused the government of targeting lawful owners instead of addressing firearm theft and violent crime.
She noted the compensation fund would cover only a fraction of affected owners, leaving many to surrender thousands of dollars’ worth of property for free or face criminalization.
“They want it to fail,” Wilson said.
Rod Giltaca, CEO of the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights, called the plan “as evil as anyone ever thought it would be” in a post on X, warning that owners could be forced to compete for insufficient compensation, potentially receive nothing, and still face police enforcement.
Conservative MP Blaine Calkins also condemned the program, accusing the Liberals of ignoring organized crime, gun smuggling and repeat violent offenders in favour of “punishing law-abiding citizens” with “no public safety benefit.”
Calkins vowed that Conservatives would scrap the program and refocus enforcement on repeat offenders and border smuggling.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon has ordered about 1,500 active duty soldiers to be ready in case of a possible deployment to Minnesota, where federal authorities have been conducting a massive immigration enforcement operation, two defence officials said Sunday.
The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military plans, said two infantry battalions of the Army’s 11th Airborne Division have been given prepare-to-deploy orders. The unit is based in Alaska and specializes in operating in arctic conditions.
One defence official said the troops are standing by to deploy to Minnesota should President Donald Trump invoke the Insurrection Act, a rarely used 19th century law that would allow him to employ active duty troops as law enforcement.
The move comes just days after Trump threatened to do just that to quell protests against his administration’s immigration crackdown.
In an emailed statement, Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell did not deny the orders were issued and said the military "is always prepared to execute the orders of the Commander-in-Chief if called upon.”
On Thursday, Trump said in a social media post that he would invoke the 1807 law “if the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job."
He appeared to walk back the threat a day later, telling reporters at the White House that there wasn’t a reason to use it “right now.”
“If I needed it, I’d use it,” Trump said. “It’s very powerful.”
Trump has repeatedly threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act throughout both of his terms. In 2020, he threatened to use it to quell protests after George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis police, and in recent months, he threatened to use it for immigration protests.
The law was most recently invoked by President George H.W. Bush in 1992 to end unrest in Los Angeles after the acquittal of four white police officers in the beating of Rodney King.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat and frequent target of Trump, has urged the president to refrain from sending in more troops.
“I’m making a direct appeal to the President: Let’s turn the temperature down. Stop this campaign of retribution. This is not who we are,” Walz said last week on social media.

Now here's the important thing. Many Christians become alarmed and feel anxiety, even fear, when confronted with such violence, and want to move away. But the bible tells us to attack the enemy! Boldly. With perfect love that casts out all fear, like a boxer entering the ring, not afraid of being hurt, in order to win the prize. In this way, we can bless those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Use money, tainted as it is, to win friends (Luke 16:9).
Bring light into darkness (Matthew 15:16) and be salt of the earth (Mathew 5:13), even if the salt stings as it heals. Be a witness that conquers by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony - his blood, our blood, his word, our word, united in a fight to establish His Kingdom on earth, even in the face of death (Revelation 12:11). And in the end, as Matthew 16:18 assures us, "the gates of Hell shall not prevail" [i.e. won't stand up against our attack].
There is no neutral ground. We are always at war. And a smart army controls the battle plan. We don't wait for the enemy to attack us personally or collectively. We seize the initiative. Like missionaries in our own land, taking back what the enemy has stolen from us. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).

While Jesus Christ has completely stripped away the devil’s power and authority (Colossians 2:15, Luke 10:19), the enemy still wants us to believe that he has power and authority over us as Believers.
