But it turns out he is the one getting the last laugh.

Journalists always claimed they were the neutral arbiters of truth in American life.
Conservatives long contended the press was secretly a pro-Democrat Party super PAC due to its left-wing bias.
Former President Donald Trump spent the last eight years blasting the press for being Democrat partisans who lied about him constantly while spreading hoaxes and conspiracy theories designed to help the Deep State overthrow his Presidency.
Members of the press would then summon all their self-righteousness in response to declare they were the defenders of democracy, telling the truth without fear or favor.
It turns out Trump was right, and the journalists were all liars.
A jaw-dropping study from the highly respected Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University of 1,600 journalists in early 2022 found that just 3.4% of journalists were Republicans and 36.4% were Democrats.
The number of journalists identifying as Republicans fell each year this survey was conducted, and the number of self-identifying Democrats rose.
In many ways, this is emblematic of the Left’s takeover of elite institutions like Wall Street, Silicon Valley, academia, and Hollywood.
It isn’t that conservatives don’t want to seek out jobs in the media, teaching, or the entertainment industry.
The simple truth of the matter is that once the Left achieves a critical mass of dominance in an institution, they lock any dissenting views out so they can wield that institution’s power on behalf of the Democrat Party to attack Trump and conservatives.
And since these institutions aren’t explicitly seen as partisan since they are outside the traditional political world, the Left reaps the benefit of being able to present their ideas as objectively “correct” since every major power center in America shares their world view.

Do you wonder why did so many people complied with nonsensical covid mandates? Why are some people still wearing facial diapers? Nearly 200 names that had previously been redacted from court documents in a lawsuit against Jeffrey Epstein’s former lover and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell will soon be made public after a federal judge in New York ordered their unsealing last month.
U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska issued a 51-page order explaining her reasoning on whether to unseal or continue to redact the names of about 180 John and Jane Does – giving some clues as to who they may be.
Some of the names were previously known through other means despite having been withheld from the public’s eye in the lawsuit. Many had publicly known ties to Epstein. Others on the list include his alleged victims, who were taken to his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands or one of his mansions in New York City and Florida.
Virginia Giuffre, an Epstein accuser who said he trafficked her as a minor in the early 2000s, sued Maxwell in 2015. The parties settled out of court in 2017. Epstein had relationships with numerous influential figures, from politicians, including former presidents and prime ministers, to Hollywood stars, leading academics and the U.K.’s Prince Andrew, whom Giuffre also sued.

The judge also linked other articles involving interviews with Epstein’s former employees and noted there was no reason to protect the names of people who had been publicly discussed during Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial in criminal court.

Epstein-related lawsuits go beyond the scope of Giuffre’s allegations against Maxwell and Prince Andrew. The government of the U.S. Virgin Islands sued JPMorgan Chase, claiming the bank aided Epstein’s crimes.
That lawsuit revealed connections between Epstein and Barclays CEO Jes Staley, a former JPMorgan banker who resigned from his position in 2021.
It also alleged that the bank knew about Epstein’s ties to French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who, like Epstein, died in jail awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Another Epstein-related lawsuit has alleged that billionaire Leon Black, who resigned as CEO from Apollo Global Management in 2021, assaulted a 16-year-old with autism at Epstein’s New York City mansion.
Preska described both Doe 58 and 124 as “a classic outsider” with no ties to Epstein or Maxwell.

Senate Democrats IRATE At Biden After His Backstabbing Midnight Move:
Senate Democrats are expressing strong indignation over the Biden administration’s decision to deliver weapons to Israel without seeking prior approval from Congress, despite their apprehensions regarding the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken notified Congress on Friday about the department’s second urgent decision to fund equipment transactions amounting to more than $147.5 million. The Defense Department’s notification states that the Israeli military has already obtained new fuses and charges for the 155-millimeter projectiles.
In a statement, Blinken pointed out that “Given the urgency of Israel’s defensive needs, the secretary notified Congress that he had exercised his delegated authority to determine an emergency existed, necessitating the immediate approval of the transfer.”
The emergency decree grants the government headed by Biden the ability to bypass the standard legislative scrutiny process for foreign arms sales.
Nevertheless, this marks the second instance in which the Biden administration has authorized an emergency arms sale to Israel within a span of less than a month, bypassing the need for legislative approval. Blinken recently exerted the same kind of power on December 9th, when the government authorized an additional $106.5 million for the purchase of tank munitions.
The consecutive proclamations of emergency in Israel brought about fresh criticism from Senate Democrats, who have voiced apprehension regarding the Israeli military’s failure to implement the essential measures to avert civilian casualties in Gaza. The number of fatalities in Gaza, as reported by the health ministry under Hamas, has now exceeded 21,000.
Nevertheless, Senate Democrats explicitly criticized the State Department’s authorization process, arguing that the Biden administration’s use of the emergency proclamation to approve foreign arms funding eliminates a crucial oversight mechanism for the chief executive’s office.
“Unnecessarily bypassing Congress means keeping the American people in the dark. We need a public explanation of the rationale behind this decision — the second such decision this month,” stated Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) in an interview with Punchbowl News.
In a press release on Sunday, Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) criticized the Biden administration’s choice of removing the legislative branch from the process of deciding for foreign military sales, stating that it “undermines transparency and weakens accountability.”
Senator Peter Welch (D-VT) remarked that the weapons supplied to Israel had “been used to devastating effect in Gaza, contributing to the death and injury of countless civilians and the displacement of an estimated 2 million people.”
“The war in Gaza has generated immense controversy and concern in the United States and around the world. The president should follow the established procedure of submitting his arms sales recommendations to Congress for prior approval.” stated Welch.
The outrage arises as Senate Democrats have advocated for explicit limitations to be imposed on US military assistance, such as mandating that recipient countries adhere to international norms governing armed conflicts.
Biden’s pledge to provide more than $106 billion in foreign military assistance to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and Indo-Pacific countries is now delayed in the Senate owing to differences on a much-needed US/Mexico border protection deal.
According to University of Maryland Critical Issues Polls, conducted soon following the Hamas terror attack and four weeks later, “during a period when national and international attention had shifted to Israel’s subsequent attacks in the Gaza Strip, shows that Israel has lost much of that early support, especially among Democrats.”
“Change among young Democrats has been particularly notable: They are now twice as likely to view President Joe Biden as “too pro-Israeli” than in October, the number of those saying they would be less likely to vote for Biden because of his stance on the Israeli-Palestinian issue more than doubled since October, and those who want the United States to lean toward the Palestinians have measurably increased,” according to the University poll.
“It is the deepest shift in a short period of time that I’ve seen,” stated Shibley Telhami, the Critical Issues Poll’s director.
As per a mid-November survey conducted by Quinnipiac University, “voters 18 – 34 years old, a majority (52 percent) say their sympathies lie more with the Palestinians, while 29 percent say the Israelis. This is a sharp reversal from October, when 41 percent said the Israelis and 26 percent said the Palestinians.”
“Among Democrats, a plurality (41 percent) say their sympathies lie more with the Palestinians, while 34 percent say their sympathies lie more with the Israelis. In October, nearly half of Democrats (48 percent) said the Israelis and 22 percent said the Palestinians.
An overwhelming majority of voters (72 percent) say, regardless of their overall feelings toward the Israelis and the Palestinians, Hamas is more responsible for the outbreak of violence in the Middle East, while 14 percent say Israel is more responsible.”
Based on the latest poll conducted by NBC, 70% of those between the ages of 18 and 34 expressed their disapproval of Biden’s management of the Israel-Hamas conflict. Based on recent research conducted by Pew, a mere 19% of individuals in the United States who are under the age of 30 express approval towards Biden’s conduct.
Trump Suffers ‘Extreme Sabotage’ Designed To Destroy Him For Good:
Based on his furious and capitalized social media tweets, it is evident that former President Donald Trump spent a portion of the New Year’s Day vacation expressing intense anger and promoting conspiracy theories about different legal and political individuals.
Trump utilized social media to strongly criticize former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, who played a prominent part in the House Select Committee’s investigation into Trump’s involvement in the events of January 6th. Additionally, he targeted individuals like “ridiculous deranged Jack Smith” and “Crazy Nancy Pelosi,” as expected.
Trump has introduced a new theory, claiming that Liz Cheney illegally deleted and destroyed most of the evidence and related items from the January 6th Committee of Political Thugs and Misfits. He labeled this action as extreme sabotage.

Trump’s habit of disparaging his political adversaries and legal prosecutors is not a novel occurrence.
What aspects of this piece are likely to be considered newsworthy and gain popularity among conservative media outlets that follow Trump’s lead? The conspiracy theory suggests that any exculpatory evidence, such as the disproven claim that then-Speaker Pelosi bears responsibility for the Trump-supporting rioters who stormed the Capitol to disrupt the certification of the 2020 election and potentially harm Mike Pence, has been deliberately erased.
Conspiracy theories, like this one, are effective because they are immune to disproof. Consider, for instance, the concept that the 2020 election was unlawfully taken. A multitude of pro-Trump individuals vehemently asserted that it was imperative to establish irrefutable evidence that the election was not pilfered. That is not feasible. The burden of proof renders it impossible to substantiate a negative claim, such as the possession of weapons of mass destruction by Saddam Hussein or the existence of Bigfoot. Demonstrating the nonexistence of something, such as erased evidence that could potentially absolve him, is inherently unattainable.
However, at present, it seems that Trump has adopted a legal technique akin to claiming that his homework was misplaced, which might potentially expose his level of desperation.

Tucker Carlson shocks conservatives with attack on Ben Shapiro:
The Israel-Hamas war has consumed the voices of many respected figures on the right for months now, and Tucker Carlson is tired of it.
“There are people on the right who have spent the last two months, every single day, focused on a conflict in a foreign country as our own country becomes dangerously unstable,” Carlson told Saagar Enjeti on "Breaking Points."
The person on the right Carlson was using as an example is Ben Shapiro, and the instability he’s referring to is that our country is “on the brink of financial collapse with tens of millions of people who shouldn’t be here.”
“We don’t know their identities or the purpose of their being here,” Carlson continues, “stuff that could destroy the country for real and make it impossible for my kids to live here.”
Carlson claims that these talking heads on the right have said nothing about that.
“They’re focused with laser intensity on foreign conflicts,” he says. “They don’t care about the country at all.”
In a rare moment, Dave Rubin disagrees with Tucker.
“I’m sorry, that is just a seriously low-IQ take and really low-hanging fruit and dishonest by Tucker,” Rubin says.

Putin called Benjamin Netanyahu and asked that Russia be allowed to build a field hospital in the area where Gazan citizens were being hit. Netanyahu refused on the grounds that he could not guarantee the security or safety of the hospital and its workers. He asked Putin to help relocate the Gazans to Egypt. Putin refused.
Shortly after that I saw a huge load of humanitarian aid put on a Russian plane bound for Egypt and then on to Gaza. That is the third time I have seen loads sent from Russia. While I think the Western media was largely silent about Putin’s request to build the hospital, other nations have taken notice. They have heard so much from the U.S. about “the evil Mr. Putin,” but what they are seeing in reality is something different. Putin is sending humanitarian aid to hurting countries; the U.S. is voting against any proposals that could bring a diplomatic peace settlement to Gaza.

The "Art" of an American Surviving in Small Town Russia
In the article by Larry Johnson on Ukraine that I posted in early December he stated that we are blessed to live in a watershed moment of history. “Watershed moment” was a phrase that caught my attention. When I was a kid I learned what a literal watershed was. They built a huge lake for hydroelectric power in our state. I learned to swim and water ski there. The watershed was where the river that sourced the lake changed direction because a mountain forced the water to flow around it. Rivers obviously can’t flow over hills or mountains. The term “watershed” then came to be used figuratively to describe an event or series of events that changes the direction of a situation or a relationship in a significant and lasting way.
It can be used of events in a person’s life. The death of my wife was a sad watershed moment in my life. My life was redirected in a way I never dreamed. I don’t mean I had to make a few alterations here and there. I mean my life has been fundamentally and foundationally changed, and I must continue on this path. The old way is closed. That’s the way a watershed moment is. The river (literally or figuratively) has changed its course, and there is no going back to the way things used to be.
I agree with Johnson that the conflict in Ukraine is a watershed moment in international relations, although I have no idea how long this “moment” will drag on. In this blog I’ll explore the various causes and ramifications of this historic change of course. I will repeat some of what I have already covered as a basis for explaining that much of the world sees things very differently than the U.S. and its vassals do.
What started the conflict? One significant factor in the Ukrainian conflict is who initiated the conflict. The official explanation out of the the D.C. beltway, which was picked up by the majority of U.S. media outlets, was that Vladimir Putin started the fight. His invasion of Ukraine, as they termed it, was “unprovoked.” I saw that word used repeatedly in Western news sources. They claimed Mr. Putin finally decided to act on his long held desire to expand Russia and bring back the Soviet empire. He was going to start in Ukraine and sweep through eastern Europe if the West did not stop him. The U.S. and its NATO partners had to step in and give Ukraine financial and military aid for as long it would take. I heard President Biden make the same accusation against Putin in his recent plea for more billions to be sent to Ukraine.
I just read an article by Eric Zeusse who recalled the same basic line was used in the 1960s about Vietnam. The USSR started things because they wanted to expand their dominance into Southeast Asia. If we didn’t stop the Commies there, then other countries in the region would fall like dominoes (https://theduran.com/how-deeply-u-s-allied-publics-are-deceived/). I remember my high school history teacher, a dear lady for whom I had great respect, used almost those exact words to explain to us why the U.S. troops were in Vietnam. Nevertheless, the U.S. finally had to surrender on 30 April 1975. North and South Vietnam were united under a Communist government, and the economy slowly, but finally, recovered. No dominoes fell. Zeusse pointed out that the odd thing is that the American public has continued to accept the “domino effect” as an excuse for America’s many war involvements around the world until this very day.
What I have discovered living abroad is that the majority of residents living in countries outside the West do not share the view that Putin’s actions were unprovoked. Even some in the West now reject the U.S. explanation. Much of the world knew that Putin had worked long and hard on the Minsk Agreements and other possible options for peaceful settlements in Ukraine. It was common knowledge outside the U.S. that Ukraine was shelling the oblasts in the Donbas region and thousands of Russian speaking civilians had been killed by the Ukrainian military.
Most residents of non-Western countries know the U.S. loves war and realized why Putin refused to allow Ukraine to become a part of NATO and why he prohibited the U.S. from putting missiles on the Russian border.
As the U.S. got involved in sending financial and military support to Ukraine, they made it clear that the main intent of their aid to Ukraine was to bring down Russia and evil Putin. At first they spoke of protecting democracy in Ukraine, but after about a week they began to speak freely about what this conflict would do to Russia. I’ve discussed the U.S. goals before, but I will briefly restate them.
There were three parts to the proxy war on Russia according to Joe Biden and others. First, the “mother of all sanctions” would destroy Russia economically. Second, from a military perspective, Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, stated Russia’s military would lose “strategically, operationally and tactically.” Russia simply did not have a military that could stand up to what the U.S. and NATO would provide to Ukraine. The intelligence reports also included information that the Russian troops had poor morale and really did not believe in the fight anyway. Third, and most importantly, as a result of the economic and military devastation they would inflict on Russia, Putin would be removed from office. The people of Russia would rise up and get rid of him. The President of the United States stated these three goals openly.
No one knows where the intelligence reports on which these goals were based came from. One article I read said some Russian agents conveyed this “information” to Western intelligence personnel, and they foolishly fell for it. No doubt one factor was the simple ineptitude of leaders like Antony Blinken, John Kirby, Jake Sullivan and Victoria Nuland. I can tell you myself these folks have a very inadequate understanding of all things Russian. Also, I have heard Phil Giraldi, Larry Johnson, and Ray McGovern say that inside the CIA and the State Department it has become a common practice for agents to tell their superiors what they want to hear. That kind of thing has always gone on, but according to all of them it is now standard practice. Telling the boss what he or she wants to hear is far more important to one’s career advancement than telling the boss the truth. So false information is often fed up the line to men and women who have little expertise anyway.
Economy. In terms of the Russian economy being crippled by the sanctions, I am one of many who has been saying for a long time that the reports about the failing Russian economy are completely inaccurate. Recently the Washington Post, a CIA friendly publication, surprisingly reported the following after a reporter actually did real journalistic investigations in Russia. He concluded:
1. The Russian economy has stabilized, defying Western sanctions.
2. The Putin “regime” is also stable and secure.
3. Restaurants in Moscow are packed.
4. Real estate prices are rising and new construction is booming.
5. The work of the Russian defense contractors is also booming.
6. Most Europeans are still buying Russian gas and oil.
7. The sanctions forced the “Russian oligarchs” to invest their resources back into Russia. The West actually lost investors because of the sanctions.
The author concludes, “The West might have succeeded in cutting most of its ties with Russia, but Moscow’s trade with the rest of the world is picking up.”

In recent history the U.S. economy has exercised a great deal of leverage over other countries because international trade was done almost exclusively in dollars. It was the only universally accepted currency. Whether they were friend or foe, countries had to buy dollars from the U.S. The U.S could then track how those dollars were spent.
While the Russian economy is stronger than before the Special Military Operation, the economies of the U.S. and its G-7 vassals are in trouble. Russia’s economy is now rated well above the economy of Germany. I never thought I would see that. Most importantly, BRICS, about which I wrote in a September blog, is set for the new countries to become official members in January, and at the January 24, 2024 summit Russia will become the leader of BRICS. The petrodollar is doomed. Countries can trade using their own currency. They need not buy U.S. dollars, and the U.S. will have lost its ability to track international trade.
We all know that the U.S. debt is astronomical. It currently stands at $33 trillion. Professor Jeffrey Sachs said, “Our public debt is now 100% more than our national income.” I’m no economist, but I trust Jeffrey Sachs, and even I can see having a debt which doubles the income does not point to a nation’s bright economic future. Americans in general do not care a lot about foreign policy issues, but that could be about to change with economic hard times on the way. As James Carville said, ”It’s the economy stupid.”
