Why Capitol Hill is STUCK-0n-BIDEN:
Driving the Day:
FLASHING RED LIGHTS, PT. 1 — The Cook Political Report yesterday moved six states away from JOE BIDEN and toward DONALD TRUMP: Arizona, Georgia and Nevada have gone from Toss Up to Lean Republican; Minnesota, New Hampshire and Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District have gone from Likely Democratic to Lean Democratic.
This morning, Cook analyst David Wasserman writes that “Biden’s post-debate dip represents the biggest polling shift of the year,” with Trump leading Biden 47%-44% in their new national polling average. “Trump’s current numbers among Black and Latino voters are incompatible with any plausible Democratic victory scenario,” he adds.
FLASHING RED LIGHTS, PT. 2 — “Biden support slips in deep blue New York: ‘We’re a battleground state now,’” by Nick Reisman: “Elected officials, union leaders and political consultants are panicking over polls showing a steady erosion of Biden’s support in a state he won by 23 points four years ago.”
‘INERTIA PREVAILS’ — Biden’s firewall is holding. For now.
Biden's almost Trumpian tactics — lashing out at his detractors and insisting that the conversation about him stepping aside is over — appears to be working on Capitol Hill.
Most Washington Democrats are either falling in line with Biden, meekly expressing a desire to see him do more to prove his viability or saying nothing at all.
As of this morning only seven Hill Democrats are on the record calling for a new nominee, a paltry number compared to what many (including us) were expecting earlier this weekend. And at least two senior House Democrats who privately expressed a desire to see Biden exit the race over the weekend now say publicly they support him.
But while the almost Machiavellian pressure campaign has at least temporarily muzzled the Biden doubters, it has hardly alleviated their concerns: Most Democrats we’ve spoken to remain 100 percent convinced Biden will lose to Trump, and many privately want him to gracefully bow out — even some who are publicly supporting him as the nominee.
Witness the contortions of Sen. MICHAEL BENNET (D-Colo.) who went on CNN, after reportedly making similar comments in yesterday’s caucus lunch, and declared Trump “on track, I think, to win this election — and maybe win it by a landslide and take with it the Senate and the House.” But he refused to call on Biden to step aside.
As Rep. RITCHIE TORRES (D-N.Y.), a Biden supporter, explained to us yesterday: “In the absence of consensus, inertia prevails.”
SO WHAT HAPPENED? Put simply, Biden’s allies appeared to have outmaneuvered his skeptics. Many Hill Democrats, well-apprised sources told us, were expecting dozens of lawmakers — especially vulnerable swing-district frontliners — to come out of the woodwork and force their leaders to confront the president or his campaign.
Instead, Biden’s canny move to rally the Black and Hispanic caucuses, as well as high-profile progressives like Rep. ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ (D-N.Y.), has made members think twice about going on the record with their concerns, lawmakers and aides tell us. So, too, did the leaks of private, candid conversations from over the weekend.
The result has been a conspiracy of silence among the doubters that has been drowned out by the forceful defenses by a few dozen Biden allies on the Hill this week, leaving a false impression that the party remains in the president’s corner.
There now seems to be an understanding — even among those who want Biden gone — that a mass movement forcing party leadership to act appears unlikely to happen this week, if it ever happens at all.
To be sure, not everyone is holding back.
— Yesterday evening, Rep. MIKIE SHERRILL — who flipped a key New Jersey district in 2018 — became the latest Democrat to call for Biden to step aside.
— Rep. MARC VEASEY (D-Texas) broke with his Congressional Black Caucus colleagues, airing grave concerns about Biden’s electability to CNN’s Manu Raju.
— During the Senate lunch, Sens. Bennet, JON TESTER (Mont.), and SHERROD BROWN (Ohio) insisted Biden can’t win, as CNN’s Dana Bash first reported.
— Unlike the pro-Biden forces organizing in the House, most Senate Democrats appear to be keeping their powder dry, calling on Biden to show he’s worthy of the nomination rather than proclaiming their unequivocal support.
Case in point: When asked if Biden should remain on the ticket, DICK DURBIN, the No. 2 Senate Democrat, told reporters, “that remains to be seen.”
THOSE OF FEW WORDS: Democratic leaders’ curt replies to questions and refusal to meaningfully engage the press about the president’s viability as the nominees should also send a warning message to Biden World that all is not hunky-dory.
Pressed about the situation yesterday, CHUCK SCHUMER kept saying, “I’m with Joe,” over and over again. While also saying he’s supporting Biden, HAKEEM JEFFRIES has also repeatedly refused to elaborate.
“I’m not making any statement right now here in the hall,” former speaker NANCY PELOSI said when asked by The Hill’s Mychael Schnell if Biden was the choice to lead the Democratic ticket. “When I’m ready to make a statement, I will.”
But all of the above is a far cry from the kind of intervention that could push a famously stubborn incumbent aside. And it’s why Biden allies now appear to be gloating that they’ve put down a mutiny.
Biden’s strong performance last night in his opening address of the NATO Summit probably helped in that regard. “The president didn’t fumble over words as he often does during remarks,” Alex Ward and Myah Ward note. “He was clear and forceful, appearing energized by the transatlanticism that he has embraced throughout his political career.”
Still, we heard widespread doubts yesterday that Biden can keep this up indefinitely — with every verbal or physical stumble, and every bad poll, threatening to reignite the internal debate over and over again. It’s been amplified by the sense that Biden world’s “focus has been on silencing concerns rather than answering concerns,” as former Obama White House staffer-turned-podcaster JON LOVETT put it yesterday.
“It’s not driven by the ‘elite’ or ed boards, it’s from what voters see with their eyeballs,” Lovett texted Playbook. “Either the president can assuage those concerns or he can’t.”
Good Wednesday morning. Thanks for reading Playbook. Drop us a line: Rachael Bade, Eugene Daniels, Ryan Lizza.

TRUMP IN MIAMI — “Trump toys with Miami crowd — and Rubio — over vice presidential pick,” by Kimberly Leonard: “Trump repeatedly name-dropped Sen. MARCO RUBIO throughout his rally here on Tuesday night, leaving the crowd in suspense over who he’d pick as running mate — while also seemingly toying with the vice presidential hopeful. … Trump asked the Florida Republican senator whether he’d support his proposal to remove taxes from tips before teasing the senator with, ‘you may or not be there to vote for it — but you’ll be involved.’”
VEEP IN VEGAS — While Washington wrung its hands over her running mate, VP KAMALA HARRIS took Trump to task on a litany of issues last night at a Las Vegas rally. The hits included riffs on Project 2025 — “a plan to limit access to contraception and for a nationwide abortion ban with or without a lack of conference” — and the Supreme Court’s recent presidential immunity ruling. Harris also defended Biden amid the discord inside the Democratic Party, which she addressed indirectly at the beginning of her speech. "The past few days have been a reminder that running for president of the United States is never easy,” she said. “But the one thing we know about our President Joe Biden is that he is a fighter. And he is the first to say when you get knocked down, you get back up." More from Eugene FIRST IN PLAYBOOK — Meanwhile, speculation continues as to whether Harris would give Democrats a better shot at holding on to the White House than Biden. A new poll from Democratic donor hub Way to Win fins that 66 percent of Democrats and independent voters would support Harris if she became the nominee — doing about as well as Biden in six battleground states, including Georgia and Arizona. TORY GAVITO, the group’s president, told Playbook that the “data shows how critical it is to boost Vice President Harris as a more central part of the Biden-Harris ticket. She has strong support, and room to grow, with the voters that are key to winning in November: young voters, voters of color, and women.” Related reads: “For Kamala Harris, the Challenge of Getting Ready Without Getting Ready,” by NYT’s Peter Baker and Katie Rogers … “How Kamala Harris’s awkward moments became internet gold,” by WaPo’s Taylor Lorenz
WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY On the Hill The House will meet at 10 a.m. to take up multiple bills, including undoing a Biden non-discrimination rule and requiring proof of citizenship to vote, with votes at 4:45 p.m. The Appropriations Committee will mark up multiple fiscal 2025 bills at 9 a.m. Fed Chair JEROME POWELL will testify before the Financial Services Committee at 10 a.m. EPA Administrator MICHAEL REGAN will testify before the Oversight Committee at 10 a.m. Speaker MIKE JOHNSON will meet with Ukrainian President VOLODYMYR ZELENSKYY at 2:30 p.m. Johnson and House Minority Leader HAKEEM JEFFRIES will meet with new British PM KEIR STARMER at 4:30 p.m. The Senate will meet at 10 a.m. and take up a pair of nominations throughout the day. It will take a procedural vote at 4:15 p.m. on Democrats’ bill to establish a national right to abortion. Senators from both parties will meet with NATO leaders at 9 a.m. and Zelenskyy at noon. 3 things to watch … Despite having every reason to gloat, Rep. DEAN PHILLIPS (D-Minn.) made himself conspicuously scarce for 12 days following a debate that seemed to validate the reasons for his short and widely mocked presidential campaign. He broke his silence yesterday, gently, telling reporters on Capitol Hill that he’s “contemplating how to make my perspectives clear” in the coming days. In sum, he said, per Nick Wu: “If this has been vindication, vindication has never been so unfulfilling.” For all of the GOP glee over the Democratic Party implosion now in progress, it hasn’t made the House Republican Conference any easier for Speaker MIKE JOHNSON to manage. Despite his appeals to hold off, Rep. ANNA PAULINA LUNA (R-Fla.) insists she will move forward today with a privileged resolution holding AG MERRICK GARLAND in “inherent contempt” — and subject to $10,000-a-day fines if he doesn’t hand over Biden’s special counsel interview tapes. Also expected on the House floor this afternoon: Republicans are expected to attempt a veto override that would undo SEC accounting guidance that is strongly opposed by the cryptocurrency industry. The particulars are arcane, but the politics are straightforward: After a surge of campaign spending by crypto industry outfits, it’s a fresh test of crypto’s standing on Capitol Hill. The benchmark is the original May vote, where the House voted 228-182 to overrule the SEC, with 21 Democrats joining most Republicans. More from Crypto.news

WHERE NATO WILL AND WON’T GO — The NATO summit in Washington kicked off with a new announcement that the alliance will provide Ukraine with five long-range air defense systems amid Russia’s yearslong assault, per ABC, including one U.S. Patriot system. Biden, calling the aid “historic,” also said Kyiv would get other missiles and shorter-range systems. Biden also had a surprise moment when he awarded outgoing NATO Secretary-General JENS STOLTENBERG the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Watch the video via CNN
But, but, but: Some of those pledges had already been previously announced, and NATO is still waffling on providing Ukraine a path to joining the alliance, Bloomberg notes. And Ukraine is pushing forward with new requests: A top official told Erin Banco and Alex Ward that they want the U.S. to stop limiting Ukraine from striking inside Russia with American-made weapons, in the wake of a brutal Russian strike that killed dozens at a children’s hospital.
The Trump factor already loomed large over the summit’s first day. Retired Lt. Gen. KEITH KELLOGG, a Trump adviser, met with multiple senior European officials this week, Reuters’ Gram Slattery reports. And Baltic defense ministers emphasized at an event that NATO members need to meet their spending commitments, as Trump has demanded, and compared the alliance to a golf club, Miles Herszenhorn reports.

FIRST IN PLAYBOOK I — Sen. TED CRUZ (R-Texas) and affiliated entities pulled in a whopping $12.6 million in the second quarter for his reelection bid. That puts him way ahead of his 2018 fundraising numbers. He ended the quarter with a $22.1 million war chest across his accounts and the GOP coordinated campaign.

PROJECT 2025 UNBOWED — Forget about the Democratic attacks and Trump’s disavowal. The Heritage Foundation is one of the sponsors of next week’s Republican National Convention, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Lawrence Andrea notes. And Trump’s top allies are riding high on some of the same ideas highlighted in Heritage’s Project 2025 plans, Semafor’s Dave Weigel reports in a dispatch from the National Conservatism conference. There, though Project 2025 itself was little mentioned, right-wing populists like JOHN EASTMAN, JOHN YOO and WILL CHAMBERLAIN mused about a second Trump term focused on seeking revenge against their political enemies.
“If we aren’t willing to dish anything out, then we can just expect to keep taking it,” Chamberlain said. Eastman called for impeaching judges. And former ICE Director TOM HOMAN said he would “run the biggest deportation force this country has ever seen.” The Trump campaign has emphasized that none of these outside allies speak for what he’d do back in office
Economically, a second Trump term would likely feature massive tariffs in an effort to reverse the “China shock” that hit the U.S. in the 2000s, Axios’ Hans Nichols writes. But experts say Trump’s radical protectionism would cause inflation to spike — and it’s not clear whether it would boost domestic manufacturing much.

To wit: “President Joe Biden saw neurologist at White House for Jan. 17 exam, press secretary says,” by AP’s Seung Min Kim: “The confirmation came after the White House press secretary KARINE JEAN-PIERRE inaccurately said during the daily briefing with reporters that the Jan. 17 meeting was not related to care for the president.”
WHAT ABOUT BOB — Both sides mounted impassioned closing arguments yesterday in Sen. BOB MENENDEZ’s (D-N.J.) federal corruption trial, which has lasted two months. The prosecution blasted Menendez for offering “preposterous” reasons why he might not have known about the stashes of gold bars and cash in his house, per WaPo. They ran through all the evidence and dismissed Menendez’s attempt to pin the blame on his wife, NADINE, as he stands accused of a major conspiracy to sway foreign policy and criminal matters for his personal gain.
But the defense shot back with a fiery argument, saying there were major gaps in the prosecution’s narrative — “half-truths, unsupported inferences, factual leaps and guesses,” NYT’s Benjamin Weiser, Nicholas Fandos, Tracey Tully and Maria Cramer write. Lawyer ADAM FEE acknowledged that the gold bars were not your average home storage, but said the prosecution’s evidence fell short of its insinuations. Jury deliberations are expected to begin soon.

Merck misled participants in the HPV vaccine trial – injuring the placebo group with an aluminum adjuvant to make the HPV vaccine appear safer – NaturalNews.com:
The vaccine industry makes their concoctions look safe because their clinical trials do not use an inert, saline placebo. A new study published in the International Journal of Risk & Safety in Medicine found that Merck knowingly engaged in SCIENTIFIC FRAUD when they put their HPV vaccine to test on human subjects. In order to make the vaccine appear safer than what it was, Merck designed a clinical trial using a toxic aluminum adjuvant as the “placebo.”
The trial design misleadingly stated: “One half of the participants will receive the active vaccine, while the other half will get the placebo vaccine (meaning a vaccine without active substance).”
The placebo used in the trial was actually amorphous aluminium hydroxyphosphate sulfate (AAHS). This AAHS “placebo” can cause serious allergic reactions in some people. These adverse reactions are related to the aluminum salt’s neurotoxic effects which include epilepsy and unpredictable neurological and inflammatory responses throughout the body.
HPV vaccine uses aluminum adjuvant to boost efficacy, but the aluminum is really just causing inflammation and brain damage
The HPV vaccine also contains an aluminum adjuvant in the formula. The purpose of this adjuvant is to cause inflammation and force immune responsive cells to the injection site so the vaccine stimulates a B cell immune response. This inflammatory response is outdated science and is the number one reason adverse events occur after vaccination. The aluminum salts are taken up in the cytoplasm of immune responsive cells. These aluminum ions are then carried throughout the bloodstream, sometimes crossing the blood brain barrier. Eventually, the aluminum ions burst out, causing unpredictable damage to cells. The amount of aluminum in licensed vaccines ranges from 0.125 to 0.85?mg Al/dose.

If both the “placebo” and the HPV vaccine contain an aluminum adjuvant, then the number of adverse reactions will be similar for both groups – by design. This makes the vaccine appear just as safe as the “placebo” – even though the aluminum adjuvant poses serious health risks, no matter what antigen is combined with it. The clinical trial inevitably shows that both the “placebo” and the new HPV vaccine cause health issues, but the health issues are roughly equivalent in number. This deceptive data point allows the regulatory agency to push the vaccine onto the market without a real scientific understanding of the dangers of aluminum adjuvants in vaccines and/or the dangers of other ingredients in that vaccine.
There are no “gold standard” clinical trials for vaccines when aluminum is used as a placebo
The clinical trials for the HPV vaccines are not “gold standard.” For starters, the participants in the trial were not properly informed about the nature of the study and the risks involved with the fake placebo. Participants were informed that the placebo used in the trial was either saline or an inactive substance, which is standard practice in clinical trials to establish a baseline for comparison. However, the "placebo" was actually an aluminum-containing adjuvant, which is meant to enhance the immune response but could potentially cause adverse effects. This misrepresentation compromised participants' ability to make fully informed decisions.
Secondly, participants who were randomized to the aluminum adjuvant "placebo" group were exposed to unnecessary risks, and these risks helped disguise the risks with the HPV vaccine. The use of an active adjuvant as a placebo does not provide a true baseline for comparison and could obscure genuine safety concerns related to the vaccine itself. This sham clinical trial is a violation of medical ethics – which require minimizing harm and ensuring participants have accurate information to provide informed consent.
Finally, the use of a reactive placebo such as an aluminum adjuvant may have been justified by Merck to potentially enhance the immunogenicity of the vaccine being tested. However, the ethical concern is that this choice of placebo may have compromised the researchers' ability to accurately assess the safety profile of the vaccine by blurring the distinction between vaccine-related adverse effects and those caused by the placebo. Neither the aluminum adjuvant or the HPV vaccine was properly evaluated for safety, which should raise regulatory concerns about the design of the testing protocols and Merck's adherence to ethical scientific guidelines.
Since the release of Merck's HPV vaccine, there have been several cases of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), characterized by the abnormal response of lightheadedness, blurry vision and dizziness while transitioning to an upright posture. Many times the neurological symptoms progress, disabling the person. Most of the victims (85%) are young teenage girls, who are promised protection from cervical cancer, but end up dealing with a serious disability.

A Tactic - You Never Heard Of:
You've heard of "false flags", "controlled opposition", "third columns" and "wolves in sheeps clothing". But I bet you never heard of "man-in-the-middle". It's a special kind of operation to cloke some evil activity and confuse investigators. It was used to confound the investigators of McCarthy who set out to expose Communist infiltrators, used when JFK was assassinated, used to as a practice exercise at Sandy Hook, and many other times the man-in-the-middle wanted to create an unsolvable mystery.
Simply put, this tactic creates two plausible answers instead of one. Was the Boston bombing faked or real? Don't take the bait. It was both. The man-in-the-middle had two teams at work, neither one knew about the other. One team did real damage, the other was a team of crisis actors, a perfect cover. David Hawins will explain it best:

4 Takeaways from the Supreme Court's most Consequential Term in years:
Washington — It was one of the most momentous Supreme Court terms in decades, resulting in a flurry of blockbuster decisions on guns, abortion, the power of federal regulatory agencies and the prosecution of former President Donald Trump.
For most of those cases decided by the nation's highest court, the outcomes reflected its rightward shift that was cemented by Trump himself when he appointed three justices during his four years in office. But others exposed emerging differences among the court's six conservative members, with the spotlight on Justice Amy Coney Barrett in particular.
"It was a tsunami term," Victoria Nourse, a professor at Georgetown Law, told CBS News.
The significance of the term was evidenced by the flood of decisions in massive cases announced in the last week, capped by its final rulings on July 1. The Supreme Court typically wraps up its terms by the end of June and rarely extends its work into July, most recently doing so during the two terms that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which concluded in the summer of 2020 and 2021.
è1
Before then, the last time the justices wrapped their work in July was in 1996, according to an analysis from Adam Feldman and Jake Truscott, who conducted empirical research on the court and its most recent term.
Of the decisions that were released, 27 were unanimous, and 22 were divided 6 to 3, with varying combinations of justices. Of those decisions, the justices divided 6-3 along ideological lines in half, Feldman and Truscott found. Chief Justice John Roberts was most frequently in the majority this term, followed by Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Barrett, according to their analysis.
Here are the top takeaways from the Supreme Court's term:
Curbing federal agency power while increasing judicial oversight
In one of the most consequential rulings from the court, the conservative majority overruled a 40-year-old decision on regulatory power that said courts should defer to an agency's interpretation of an ambiguous statute if it is reasonable.
Known as Chevron deference, the framework effectively gave federal agencies the authority to enact rules and regulations to fill gaps in the laws passed by Congress. But after getting rid of that precedent, it will now be up to courts to decide whether an agency has acted within its authority, leaving judges to make calls about policy that had previously been decided by experts.
In another case, the Supreme Court said people accused of securities fraud are entitled to a jury trial in federal court, stripping the Securities and Exchange Commission of a key enforcement tool. And in yet another, it lengthened the time frame for companies to challenge federal regulations. The court in a fourth decision blocked a rule from the Environmental Protection Agency that seeks to curb air pollution while legal proceedings continue.
"Administrative law boils down to one question, which is, who decides?" said Allison Orr Larsen, a law professor at William and Mary. "These four cases weigh in on that 'who decides' question in very significant ways that tip the balance toward judges and away from an administrative agency."
In one week, she said, the court has dismantled deference to agencies on ambiguities in the law, elongated the time allowed to bring challenges to agency action, increased the skepticism that courts show agencies on questions of policy and curtailed when agencies can adjudicate disputes internally.
"You could call it an administrative law conservative makeover, or an extreme makeover," Larsen said. "The decisions are truly remarkable in the number of ways that an agency now can lose. Another way to think of it is the breadth of the transfer of power to the judiciary."

Prohibitions in Sikhism – Wikipedia:
Prohibitions in Sikhism... [HALAL Food is PROHIBITED]
Adherents of Sikhism follow a number of prohibitions. As with any followers of any faith or group, adherence varies by each individual.
Prohibitions
These prohibitions are strictly followed by initiated Khalsa Sikhs who have undergone initiation. While the Sikh gurus did not enforce religion and did not believe in forcing people to follow any particular religion in general, the Sikh community does encourage all people to become better individuals by following the Guru's Advice (Gurmatta), as opposed to living life without the Guru's code of disciple (Man-mat):
4 major transgressions:[1]
· Hair removal – Hair cutting, trimming, removing, shaving, plucking, threading, dyeing, or any other alteration from any body part is strictly forbidden.[2]
· Eating the meat of an animal slaughtered the Muslim or Jewish way (Kutha meat).[3] This is the absolute minimum required by all initiated Sikhs. Although lacto vegetarianism is practiced and recommended by some Sikhs, many Sikhs refrain from eating non-vegetarian food, and believe all should follow this diet. This is due to various social, cultural, political, and familial aspects. As such, there has always been major disagreement among Sikhs over the issue of eating non-vegetarian food. Sikhs following the Rehat (Code of Conduct) of the Damdami Taksal & Akhand Kirtani Jatha also subscribe to this view. The Akali Nihangs have traditionally eaten meat and are famous for performing Jhatka.[4][5][6][7] Thus, there is a wide range of views that exist on the issue of a proper "Sikh diet" in the Panth. Nonetheless, all Sikhs agree with the minimum consensus that meat slaughtered via the Muslim (Halal), Jewish (Shechita) methods or any other religiously slaughtered way, is strictly against Sikh principles.[8][9] The Akal Takht represents the final authority on controversial issues concerning the Sikh Panth (community or collective). The Hukamnama (edict or clarification), issued by Akal Takht Jathedar Sadhu Singh Bhaura dated February 15, 1980, states that eating meat does not go against the code of conduct of the Sikhs. Amritdhari Sikhs can eat meat as long as it is Jhatka meat.[10]
· Adultery: Cohabiting with a person other than one's spouse (sexual relations with anyone who you are not married to- originally a prohibition on sexual intercourse with Muslim women, an injunction was made by Guru Gobind Singh not to seize them during warfare as sexual contact with them was seen as polluting. Kahn Singh Nabha of the Singh Sabha Movement had later inferred that the Guru's command was construed as a prohibition on intercourse with a woman other than one's wife.)[11][12][13][14][15][16]
· Intoxicants – A Sikh must not take hemp (cannabis), opium, liquor, tobacco, cocaine, narcotics, etc. In short, any intoxicant is not allowed.[17][18][19] Cannabis is generally prohibited, but ritually consumed in edible form by some Sikhs.[20][21] Some Sikh groups, like the Damdami Taksal, are even opposed to drinking caffeine in Indian tea. Indian tea is almost always served in Sikh gurudwaras around the world. Some Akali Nihang groups consume cannabis-containing shaheedi degh (ਭੰਗ), purportedly to help in meditation.[22][23][24]Sūkha parshaad (ਸੁੱਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਰਸਾਦ), "Dry-sweet", is the term Akali Nihangs use to refer to it. It was traditionally crushed and consumed as a liquid, especially during festivals like Hola Mohalla. It is never smoked, as this practice is forbidden in Sikhism.[25] In 2001, Jathedar Santa Singh, the leader of Budha Dal, along with 20 chiefs of Nihang sects, refused to accept the ban on consumption of shaheedi degh by the apex Sikh clergy of Akal Takht - in order to preserve their traditional practices.[26] According to a recent BBC article, "Traditionally they also drank shaheedi degh, an infusion of cannabis, to become closer with God".[27] Baba Santa Singh was excommunicated and replaced with Baba Balbir Singh, who agreed to shun the consumption of bhang.[28]
Other mentioned practices to be avoided, as per the Sikh Rehat Maryada:
· Piercing of the nose or ears for wearing ornaments is forbidden for Sikh men and women.[29]
· Female infanticide: A Sikh should not kill his daughter; nor should he maintain any relationship with a killer of daughter.[30]
· A Sikh shall not steal, form dubious associations or engage in gambling.[31]
· It is not proper for a Sikh woman to wear a veil that covers the face or have the face hidden.[32]
· Sikhs cannot wear any token of other faiths. Sikhs must not have their head bare or wear caps. They also cannot wear any ornaments piercing through any part of the body.[33]
· Hereditary priestly class – Sikhism does not have priests, as they were abolished by Guru Gobind Singh (the 10th Guru of Sikhism).[34] The only position he left was a Granthi to look after the Guru Granth Sahib; any Sikh is free to become Granthi or read from the Guru Granth Sahib.[34]
· Blind spirituality: Idolatry, superstitions, and rituals should not be observed or followed, including pilgrimages, fasting, and ritual purification; circumcision; ancestor worship; grave worship; and compulsory wearing of the veil for women. Observation of the five Ks, however, is not considered blind superstition, as they are intended to help Sikhs in their everyday life.
· Material obsession: Obsession with material wealth is not encouraged in Sikhism.
· Sacrifice of creatures: Animal sacrifice to celebrate holy occasions are forbidden.
· Non-family-oriented living: Sikhs are discouraged from living as a recluse, beggar, yogi/yogini, monastic (monk/nun), or celibate.[citation needed]
· Worthless talk: Bragging, gossip, lying, slander, "backstabbing," et cetera, are not permitted. The Guru Granth Sahib tells the Sikh, "your mouth has not stopped slandering and gossiping about others. Your service is useless and fruitless."[35]

Ontario KFCs go halal, Ban Pork to ensure “Diverse and Inclusive” Menu, Nationwide rollout to come | True North:
Ontario KFC restaurants are now Muslim-friendly with halal chicken and the removal of pork products from the menu.
All Ontario KFC restaurants, except those in Thunder Bay and Ottawa, have switched to halal chicken and removed pork products, including bacon, from the menu, except for joint KFC-Taco Bell locations.
KFC has “ensured all chicken products are Halal Certified including but not limited to chicken,” a May letter from the company to Muslim community leaders said. The letter was widely shared on social media this week.
“This initiative is a testament to our commitment to providing diverse and inclusive menu options for all our customers,” the letter said, promising the changes would be rolled out to all KFC locations nationally by the end of the year.
KFC Canada did not respond to True North’s requests for comment. However, after calling multiple stores in Ontario, True North confirmed that “everything in the store is halal” and that bacon has been taken off the menu.
Halal, an Arabic word that means “legal,” refers to food that is safe for observant Muslims to consume. There is a certification process to confirm that halal foods have been processed in accordance with Muslim scripture.
KFC has partnered with halal suppliers such as Maple Lodge Farms, which owns Zabiha Halal, which bills itself as “Canada’s #1 Halal food brand.”
Zabiha Halal’s website says all of its meat is prepared by ensuring that each bird is alive before being slaughtered.
Automated blades are used to precisely cut the “esophageal, pulmonary, jugular and carotid channels,” leaving the bird’s head attached while a Muslim orally recites, “In the name of Allah, Allah is the greatest!”
“We employ more than 25 Muslim blessers to ensure that the chickens are properly blessed on the slaughtering line,” Zabiha Halal says on its website’s frequently asked questions section.
“Our halal slaughter is a continuous process. The Muslim blessers recite Tasmiah at the time each bird comes under the rotary blade. We understand that it is not possible for a person to continuously recite Tasmiah, over long periods, at the same rate,” It said. “To keep the speed consistent, the blessers at the slaughter station are rotated with other blessers to prevent fatigue. This rotation continues for the duration of the slaughter process.”
Zabiha Halal boasts that its practices are approved by “leading Muslim scholars” and internationally recognized halal certification bodies such as Muslim law interpreting organizations such as Sharia Consulting Services and Fiqh Council of North America.
According to the 2021 census, 581,950 Muslims lived in Ontario, making up about 4.9% of the province’s total population. Approximately 424,930 Muslims lived in the Greater Toronto Area alone.
Around 61% of Canada’s Muslim population lived in Ontario as of 2021.
KFC, which is owned by Yum Brands, is run by Sabir Sami, a Pakistan-born CEO who now lives in Toronto.
The move by the chicken company has garnered significant debate online.
“Halal is a barbaric form of torture. They slit the animal’s throat while it’s alive so it pushes the blood out faster. In civilized countries like ours, we stun the animal first, it feels no pain,” one user said.
“It’s like being offended by peanut-free candy bars because you aren’t allergic to peanuts when you had no intention of buying a bar with peanuts in the first place,” one user on X said. “My only concern is companies exclusively hiring Muslim butchers so they can market their meat as halal.”
Others dismissed calls for a boycott by pointing out that other chains, such as Mary Brown’s and Popeye’s, have been halal for years and that there is nothing wrong with eating halal meat if you’re not a Muslim. “Halal chicken isn’t going to convert you to anything. Halal chicken is usually cheaper than the other options,” one user said.

On Wed. 10 July a World Debt Jubilee was set to break the chains of our Financial Slavery by bringing in the Global Currency Reset of 209 Sovereign nations to a gold/asset-backed currency standard.
Our Societal Freedom begins with destruction of 34 of the Deep State Globalist Cabal’s Satanic icons such as the Statue of Liberty, along with their ties to Epstein’s nefarious Child Trafficking tunnel system. As the Cabal manipulated the weather with HAARP technology, multiple States and Regions have declared a State of Emergency. At the same time the Fed has been closing Banks without notice in order to confiscate monies out of private accounts without cause, or legal authority.
Why? Answer: The Rothschild, Rockefeller and Globalist Elites whoowned the U.S. Federal Reserve and IRS, have since 1913, collected, spent and encouraged Congress to over spend US Taxpayer Dollars. All of which turned the US Dollar into fiat paper money, while running up the National Debt by charging the government interest on their own money so they could use it.
In other words, the entire US Financial System which has been bankrupt for going on 17 years (since 2008) while running on the fiat US Dollar, was now officially broke.
At this point the Deep State Cabal Globalists planned to keep the World enslaved by bringing in their Great Reset of fiat digital currency that could control everyone’s bank account – including what one traveled, bought and ate, or were unable to eat, with man made food shortages.
However, Trump and the Alliance was one step ahead, and had already used the Global Currency Reset to back up a Checkmate.
