CANADIAN:

A Cashless Society?

Financial transactions are increasingly conducted digitally. In 2023, a mere 11 percent of transactions were conducted with cash, according to Payments Canada.

 

In a 2023 Bank of Canada survey on CBDCs, however, 82 percent of 89,423 respondents strongly disagreed that the Bank of Canada should be researching or building the capability to issue a CBDC. Despite these results, the Bank of Canada continues to research a CBDC for Canada.

 

The Justice Centre’s report critically evaluates the impact a CBDC could have on Canadians’ fundamental rights and freedoms. Absent robust legislative protections and oversight, a CBDC could allow the Government and Bank of Canada to monitor Canadians’ purchases, donations, investments and other financial transactions.



A CBDC has the potential to empower government to reward and punish the behaviour(s) and lifestyle choices of individual Canadians, as Communist China does with its “social credit” system. Allowing the government to peer into and influence Canadians’ purchasing behaviour(s) could have a profoundly damaging impact on their privacy and autonomy, cautions the report.

President Donald Trump and top House Republicans are ramping up a sweeping investigation into former President Joe Biden’s use of a mechanical signature device known as the autopen, raising questions about the legitimacy of executive actions taken during Biden’s presidency — especially a wave of last-minute pardons signed with the device.



The investigation, led by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), gained traction after the Washington Examiner first reported on Friday about Comer’s plans for the committee to investigate whether Biden personally authorized all of his clemency orders and executive actions or whether his aides, acting on his behalf, used the autopen without valid authority.

 

At the center of the controversy are Republican claims that Biden lacked the cognitive ability to carry out key decisions and that unelected aides may have orchestrated policy behind the scenes. The Justice Department, now under Trump’s control, has also pledged internal reviews of Biden-era pardons under newly appointed Pardon Attorney Ed Martin.

 

A staffer familiar with Martin’s plans told the Washington Examiner that Martin “looks forward to being in a position to facilitate congressional inquiries from inside the building and to cooperate with those inquiries, because they’re all on the same team.”

 

Interviewing former Biden staffers will be the first move

Comer has made the autopen investigation a new front in the broader Republican effort to investigate Biden’s fitness and decision-making while in office.



In a statement after his closed-door announcement of the investigation at the annual Republican National Lawyers Association event, Comer said his panel would commence its investigation into “the cover-up of President Biden’s mental decline and use of autopen,” even teasing that he believes he knows which former Biden staffer operated the device.

 

Comer said he plans to subpoena former Biden aides Annie Tomasini, Anthony Bernal, and Ashley Williams, who he says “ran interference” for the president and may have coordinated the use of the autopen.

“Now that Biden’s top enablers can no longer hide behind the power of the presidency, we’re continuing our investigation to expose the truth,” Comer said.

 

Although Comer has named three former aides to Biden, Kyle Brosnan, chief counsel for the Oversight Project, formerly part of the Heritage Foundation, said House Republicans should consider additional names to subpoena, including those who received the blanket pardons from Biden just before he left office.

 

“I would hope and expect that the people that received those preemptive pardons are on the deposition list,” Brosnan told the Washington Examiner. “They’re certainly eligible to be deposed in this situation, and they cannot assert the Fifth Amendment for these pardons either.”

 

Legal concerns emerge over pardons and executive authority

Republicans have pointed to Biden’s final-week pardons and clemency grants as a focal point for legal scrutiny. Among the figures who received preemptive clemency were former COVID-19 adviser Anthony Fauci, former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, and members of the House Jan. 6 committee.

 

Several of the pardons were signed between Jan. 16 and Jan. 19, just days before Trump’s inauguration. According to public filings and internal memoranda obtained by congressional investigators, a significant number of clemency warrants were executed using batch-format autopen signatures, raising questions about whether Biden was directly involved in the process.

 

Also included in the final clemency wave were Hunter Biden, the president’s son, and James Biden, his brother, both of whom had been under various federal investigations. GOP lawmakers say the use of preemptive pardons to shield Biden family members from potential future charges may constitute abuse of executive power.

Brosnan said the legal questions are serious: “The Constitution vests the power of pardon in one person and one person only — the President of the United States.”

 

“If it’s autopened, it opens up a whole can of worms,” Brosnan added. “Did the president [himself] authorize this? Was there a written authorization? Who controlled the autopen? What procedures were in place to ensure it wasn’t being misused?”

 

Brosnan added that Biden’s DOJ had previously argued in Jan. 6 cases that accepting a pardon implies guilt, questioning why the same standard of reasoning should not also apply to the former president’s family and political allies.

“It’s a reasonable question for Congress to ask,” he said. “What crime did Hunter Biden admit to? What about James Biden, or the dozens of others granted immunity preemptively?”

 

Researchers believe at least 32 clemency warrants signed using autopen

The Oversight Project has spent months reviewing Biden-era documents and clemency orders. Of the 57 total clemency warrants issued during Biden’s presidency, affecting over 4,000 people, 32 were signed using the autopen, according to a March 17 report from the Oversight Project.

 

Even more notable: The group found two distinct versions of Biden’s signature, which they identified as “Autopen A” and “Autopen B,” Brosnan added.

 

“These are some of the broadest pardons we’ve ever seen,” Brosnan said, noting especially the ones issued in the waning hours of Biden’s term. “Traditionally, pardons absolve past crimes — so if Biden’s team is issuing pardons as blanket immunity, that’s not just a break from history, that’s a constitutional problem.”

 

Trump is all in on investigating Biden’s use of the autopen



During his visit to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, Trump alleged that aides may have used the autopen to enact more lenient immigration policies without Biden’s knowledge.

“We’re going to start looking into this whole thing with who signed this legislation,” Trump said. “Who signed legislation opening our border? I don’t think he knew.”

 

Trump did not cite specific legislation or provide evidence for his suspicions but claimed that the device was operated by “radical Left lunatics” who were frustrated that Biden, not Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), had won the Democratic nomination.

“They said, ‘Wait a minute, this is a gift. He’ll do anything. We’re going to use the autopen,'” Trump said. “And they used the autopen on everything.”

 

Although many of Biden’s orders were not signed in public, the president, on numerous occasions, signed orders for the public to witness, meaning that not all of Biden’s actions will be under the microscope of the committee’s investigation. However, many of the controversial actions that occurred behind closed doors, such as clemency grants, will be fair game.

 

The legality of using the autopen is not in question. Rather, the investigation will revolve around whether the president explicitly authorized his top aides to use the technology to sign orders in his name or whether it was done without his consent.

 

Trump himself has acknowledged limited ceremonial use of the autopen. In March, he said, “We may use it, as an example, to send some young person a letter, because it’s nice.”

 

Following his visit to the Capitol, Trump ramped up his interest even further in the retroactive investigation of Biden’s autopen use, specifically as it relates to executive orders signed by Biden that he said led to “open borders.”

“Biden was not for open borders… They stole the presidency,” Trump posted to Truth Social. “This is TREASON at the highest level!”

Jack Ciattarelli to Newsmax: Sherrill Owes N.J. Answers:

Jack Ciattarelli, Republican candidate for governor of New Jersey, told Newsmax on Thursday that Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J., who is also running for governor, owes Garden State voters answers about how she made millions from stock trades in her time in Washington, more than tripling her net worth over three terms.

Ciattarelli, polling as the front-runner for next month's Republican primary in New Jersey, joined "Finnerty" to react to a recent interview Sherrill gave.

 

"That's what everybody's asking, Rob," Ciattarelli said when asked how Sherrill, a former Navy helicopter pilot, made that money. "And we deserve answers. And from that interview, I would say she doesn't have the truthful answers, for sure. But, you know, she's constantly showing off this Navy bomber jacket. I think it's time to trade it in for maybe a stock trader jacket," he told show host Rob Finnerty.

 

Sherrill was confronted about her stock-driven millions in an interview with Charlamagne tha God last week and stumbled trying to find answers.

"I, I haven't," she said at one point. "I don't believe I did, but I'd have to go see what, what that was alluding to — again, what kind of came from."

 

Ciattarelli said Sherrill's millions will be a focus of his campaign on the other side of the primary. Sherrill is polling as the front-runner among Democrats, albeit in a tighter race.

"We'll be talking about this and also the votes against things like the Laken Riley bill and her support of [Gov.] Phil Murphy, whose policies have all failed in New Jersey. She's Murphy 2.0. And so our message is very simple: If you want four more years of failed Phil Murphy policies, I guess you'll vote for Mikie Sherrill. But if not, give Ciattarelli … a chance. We'll show you what we can do."

 

Ciattarelli also pointed out that when it comes to gubernatorial races, New Jersey is more purple than blue.

"And over the past 43 months, new Republican registrations have outpaced new Democratic registrations very significantly," he said. "The gap between the two parties is closed by more than 300,000 for the betterment of Republicans. So we're right where we need to be. We've got the right message. We've got the right candidate. I've got [President Donald Trump's] endorsement. And I'm telling you, we're going to win in November."

An inability to count actual numbers, and to live frugally, seems to be a partial result of the so-called “General’s Lobotomy” that follows the award of that very first star.  I cannot verify such medical procedures exist, but I recall the phrase from my time in the Pentagon, mainly to rationalize how some very excellent O-6’s became very different people once granted flag rank.  This phenomenon is not limited to the military, by any means.  Kash Patel and Dan Bongino talked with Maria Bartiromo recently, and quickly put to bed the outlandish notion that Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself.  Are they all pod people?

 

Burke was convicted of bribery, but his real and most widely shared conviction is a shared vision that the easiest way to become a millionaire these days is to work for the government, either through careerism or election.  In our financialized America, you need to be in on the front end to really benefit, as Charles Hugh Smith explains, and this is well known by those connected to government, in particular, government acquisition.

 

Bribery and conspiracy to commit bribery are wonderful crimes, low brow and high brow all at once.  Burke was a government goodfella, and it was good while it lasted.  If he gets jail time, I’m sure it will come with its own very fine dining and comfortable meeting rooms.

 

Seriously, Burke’s case presents a major opportunity to address the military industrial complex, and what it – and our lack of an alert and informed citizenry long before Eisenhower’s two terms – has wrought for our country.  We have no effective national defense, except the nearly 400 million guns held privately in the US, a legacy of a Second Amendment protection of a natural right most countries do not even recognize, much less honor.  The state prefers to rely on federal armies and navies, like the one Admiral Burke served in and influenced for nearly 40 years.

 

Burke’s crimes amount to profiteering. The government, the state, inadvertently or purposely, creates the structure, and sustains the spirit, of profiteering. To be connected to a state – whether local, state and federal – is to be well taken care of, to be “in the know” as in the example of Nancy Pelosi, et al or less grotesquely, Bob Menendez.

 

The great Marine Smedley Butler said “War is a Racket.” The racket is about making money from the state, influencing the state for personal profit, and it is about a business of war that destroys goods, and replaces old debts coming due with new debts that the state pushes to the far future. War is often sold as part of the Broken Window Fallacy – destruction isn’t really wasteful or criminal, it’s stimulative and creative.

 

Butler dedicates a section of his pamphlet to “How to Smash This Racket.” He did not say “reform it” or “closely monitor it” or do a study or create a presidential commission or department, like DOGE.  This racket is smashed by taking the profit out of war. 

 

He writes:

Let the officers and the directors and the high-powered executives of our armament factories and our munitions makers and our shipbuilders and our airplane builders and the manufacturers of all the other things that provide profit in war time as well as the bankers and the speculators, be conscripted – to get $30 a month, the same wage as the lads in the trenches get.

 

Butler – like our felonious Burke – was a man who spent his adult life fighting the wars of the United States.  Unlike Burke, Smedley Butler drew the correct conclusion.  He became a bold enemy of the state, if only because he spoke his mind, and shared his assessments and remedies widely.

 

Which brings us to the most interesting crime of dear Admiral Burke: “concealing material facts from the United States.”  The law itself is entertaining, and describes in some detail the ways in which government departments and their employees Must. Not. Lie.  What a joke!

 

Burke is a proven devious, persistent and creative liar, in order to get what he wanted and felt he deserved. Concealing material facts from the “United States” means, in the vernacular if not legally, concealing them from the people who paid more than enough for a Republic but received instead an Empire in its cups, stumbling towards the cliffs of insanity.  We have a country at the brink of fiscal collapse, without a single bit of useful “defense” ensconced anywhere in the federal regime.

 

The company in this case was Next Jump.  It specializes in “scalable leadership coaching through practice not theory.”  You simply cannot make this stuff up.   It is a sign of deep, deep sickness in the system, not just the Pentagon.

On February 13th of 2025, Trump 47 briefly proposed cutting the Pentagon budget in half.  That announcement had the immediate effect of “costing” Northrup Grumman, General Dynamics, and Lockheed Martin an estimated $6 Billion in stock valuation.  Congress and the defense lobbies had their mission, and not only did they deliver, but Trump, Janus-like, on April 8th proposed a record-breaking $1 Trillion dollar DoD budget.  Trump said “We have things under order now.”  Nothing could be further from the truth.

 

Admiral Robert Burke is not the tip of the iceberg; he is not one bad apple.  Burke and his cohorts at Next Jump are just bite-sized chunks of the Department of Defense. He is a chip off the old block, a sample at the Pentagon Costco.  Americans are forced, under threat of arrest, fines and imprisonment, to buy overpriced, overpackaged, non-working condition “defense” in quantities we can’t use today, and can’t consume in a century.

 

Smedley Butler believed that if we took the profit out of war, allow those who would be fighting to decide if a war was worthwhile (the young, not the old, the poor, not the wealthy) and limited our military forces to home defense purposes – we could smash the war racket.

 

The first – removing profit from war – really means ending the Fed, because a state with an unlimited ability to “create” money will always attract those who want a piece of that action, who want to win big under the rules of the game.  When it’s not real money, and not your money, those allowed into the federal casino will happily gamble with national defense, as they do with every other project of the state.

Trump was on to something in February – reducing the casino payout by half would impact both those running the casino, and those betting there, overnight.  There would definitely be blood.

 

If we returned the power to go to war to the people – we could be in for a century or two of peace in the United States, as the youth of our country do not favor war, and have no fantasies about making their bones on a global battlefield.  Butler – who died in June 1940 – could not have imagined that the US would eventually fight nonstop around the planet without any Congressional declarations of war at all – gutting Constitutional guidance meant to assign the decision for war to the People’s representatives.

 

If we limited our military forces to purely defensive purposes, we could envision a DoD that actually functions as such.  Such a defense-oriented military would have never allowed 9/11, almost a quarter of a century ago, when the DoD – and the MICIMATT around it – defended no American.  It was too busy cultivating enemies abroad, in hopes of fomenting more war, and war profits.

 

The Pentagon and Next Jump’s competitors congratulate themselves on rooting out a corrupting influence in their midst.  Naughty Admiral, shame, shame!  Now please go back to your previously scheduled program while we grift and plot, profit and pillage.

 

Trump can certainly be proud that we have the “most” of something.  His trillion-dollar military is the most expensive, most incompetent, most wasteful, and most worthless on the planet... [This he was handed by BIDON’s ADMINISTRATION]!

The Key to Ukraine’s Future Lies in Europe:

In the long term, it will be the pull of integration with the EU—not the benefits of U.S. patronage—that is most important for Ukraine. 

 

What will happen to Ukraine when the guns finally fall silent? Many believe it will be up to two people: U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Though there is some truth to this, it misses the point. The future will also depend on the relationship that Ukraine and Europe forge with one another.

 

Ever since Trump returned to the White House, his attention has been fixed on the Ukraine war. For its part, Russia has done its best to sweet-talk the U.S. president, betting on the calculation that he will eventually give up and let Moscow deal with what Russian officials see as a rebellious vassal. Putin’s surprise call for direct negotiations with Ukraine in early May 2025 serves precisely that objective, paying lip service to Trump’s mediation efforts while continuing to press Russia’s advantage on the battlefield.

 

The Europeans, led by France and the United Kingdom, are going along with Trump’s peacemaking in the hope of freezing the war on terms favorable to Ukraine. That would mean preserving Ukraine as a viable state that could pursue a pro-Western course in domestic and foreign affairs. The visit to Kyiv on May 10 by French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was as much about signaling unity as it was a nod to Trump. 

 

It’s always hard to tell which way the wind is blowing with a leader as fickle as Trump. Likely, the pendulum in Washington will swing back and forth, with different factions within the U.S. administration pulling in different directions. A total U.S. pullout from Ukraine looks unlikely thanks to perseverance from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and efforts to engage Trump from Macron and Starmer. But Trump’s first 100 days in office show that at the very least, the United States can no longer be taken for granted.

 

Without the United States, the Europeans would be in a bind. As defense analysts have pointed out, a peacekeeping force spearheaded by France and the UK could not be rolled out without Washington. From intelligence to air defenses, the U.S. contribution would be crucial. 

 

Yet capability deficiencies are not reason enough to write off Europe. In the long term, it will be the pull of EU integration—not U.S. patronage—that is most important for Ukraine. And that will likely be coupled with economic assistance from Brussels and defense aid that includes joint ventures on Ukrainian soil. The preservation of Ukrainian statehood will be inextricably linked with Europe’s bid to upgrade its geopolitical role. Truthfully, NATO membership would have been a preferable alternative for Kyiv. But with Trump in power, the chances of NATO expansion are close to zero. So the EU is the only game in town.

 

Ukraine’s EU trajectory should come as no surprise. It’s an ongoing process driven by geography and economic interdependence. Ever since the 2004 enlargement brought the EU to the Poland-Ukraine border, economic and social ties have grown deeper. The root cause for the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014 was not encirclement by NATO (a thesis oft-repeated by Putin)—it was an economic association agreement that Ukraine was about to sign with the EU.

 

However, there are stumbling blocks. One is the EU’s chronic inability to live up to expectations. This June will mark a year since Ukraine began membership talks, and it’s still unclear whether accession is actually viable. A host of factors also conspire against Ukrainian membership: the surge of populist parties in countries such as Germany and France, constitutional clauses requiring referendums on entrants to the EU, and opposition from countries like Hungary. The issue of Ukrainian membership may get caught up in squabbles over internal EU policymaking, not least subsidies for farmers. Finally, the idea of letting in a country that does not control a part of its territory is sure to stir controversy.

 

All in all, the chances of Ukraine quickly becoming a part of the EU are not great. Protracted accession talks might also cause a shift in Ukrainian public opinion. Euroskepticism (the sort of sentiment often encountered in the Western Balkans and Turkey) might grow, while the idea that Ukraine spilt blood to protect Europe from Russia only to be given the cold shoulder by the EU could breed resentment. Needless to say, Moscow would hone its propaganda messaging to exploit the growth of such sentiments.

 

It’s not that a majority of Ukrainians will turn against Europe: after all, millions of Ukrainians are already residing in the EU as a result of labor migration and the full-scale invasion. But Ukrainian disenchantment will be a gift to populists.

Even so, Ukraine will continue to gravitate toward the EU. Membership negotiations will integrate the country ever deeper, from the EU’s green agenda to the Common Agricultural Policy and, most importantly, security and defense.

One possible outcome is that Ukraine ends up as part of the European Economic Area, giving it access to the EU’s single market (a similar model to Norway). That would mean the free movement of people, goods, services, and capital.

 

Having already opened EU labor markets to Ukrainian nationals in response to the full-scale invasion in 2022, EU member states might find it politically difficult to now shut that door. For Ukraine, labor mobility in conjunction with financing and a seat at the table on some issues could end up being a substitute for full EU membership. 

 

Ultimately, Ukraine’s path will be determined by the nature of the transformation that Europe undergoes in the coming years. On the one hand, the EU needs to be stronger to counter disruption associated with globalization, the rise of China, Russian aggression, and Trump. On the other, geopolitics compels the bloc to be more flexible when it comes to foreign policy.

 

A reset between the EU and the UK is already under way, while Europe is in reengagement mode with Turkey, and concerns about Russia are broadly shared. Ukraine has plenty to offer a reformed EU—both when it comes to security and the economy.

Ukraine has long identified membership of NATO and the European Union as its twin geopolitical objectives as it looks to achieve an historic turn to the West. With seemingly little prospect of an invitation to join NATO while the war with Russia continues, the Ukrainian government will be hoping to advance further on the road toward EU integration in 2025. Progress in the country’s EU bid is realistic, but Kyiv will likely face a series of obstacles during the coming year, both domestically and on the international stage.

 


Ukraine’s EU aspirations first began to take shape in the aftermath of the country’s 2004 Orange Revolution. However, the European Union initially showed little sign of sharing this Ukrainian enthusiasm for closer ties. Instead, it took nine years for Brussels and Kyiv to agree on the terms of an Association Agreement that aimed to take the relationship forward to the next level.

 

When the Association Agreement was finally ready to sign in late 2013, Russia intervened and pressured Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to pull out. This led to protests in Kyiv, which then spiraled into a popular uprising following heavy-handed efforts to disperse students rallying in support of EU integration. The Revolution of Dignity, as it came to be known, reached a bloody climax in February 2014 with the murder of dozens of protesters in central Kyiv. In the aftermath of the killings, Yanukovych fled to Russia.

Yanukovych’s successor, Petro Poroshenko, signed the EU Association Agreement months later. By then, Putin had already decided to intervene militarily, seizing control of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula and sparking a war in eastern Ukraine. This was the start of an undeclared Russian war against Ukraine that would eventually lead to the full-scale invasion of 2022.

​Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim had spent the evening at an event dedicated to bringing together war-torn and politically divided regions of the world when a man with a gun killed the soon-to-be engaged Israeli Embassy staffers Wednesday.

 


The American Jewish Committee had been hosting an event at the Capital Jewish Museum aimed at bridge-building in the Middle East and North Africa. Lischinsky and Milgrim had exited the event when they were fatally shot around 9 p.m., according to Yechiel Leiter, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, who shared news of the couple’s pending engagement.

 

A man who had been pacing back and forth outside the museum approached a group of four people and opened fire using a handgun, Washington Police Chief Pamela Smith said.



After the shooting, the suspect walked into the museum looking “distraught,” JoJo Drake Kalin, who organized the Young Diplomats event, told Sky News, NBC News’ international partner. Kalin said she mistook the man for a bystander. “I actually offered and gave him water, unbeknownst to me that I was actually looking evil in the eye,” Kalin said. “There was commotion and a frenzy, but no one was aware of lives lost.”

 

Police identified the suspect in the shooting as Elias Rodriguez of Chicago. When he was handcuffed and being escorted by police, he shouted, “Free, free Palestine.”

Smith said Rodriguez “implied” he committed the shooting and told authorities where to find the weapon used in the shooting.

 

“Sarah and Yaron were stolen from us,” AJC CEO Ted Deutch said. “Moments before they were murdered, they were smiling, laughing, and enjoying an event with colleagues and friends. We are in shock and heartbroken as we attempt to process this immense tragedy.”

 

The shooting comes more than 18 months after Israel launched a bombing campaign and ground invasion in the Gaza Strip following the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas militants, in which more than 1,200 people were killed and hundreds more were taken hostage, according to Israeli tallies.

 

Israel’s counteroffensive has killed more than 53,000 people in Gaza, many of them women and children, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza. International aid groups and governments have also warned of the risk of famine in the enclave.

 

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered condolences, saying, “My heart grieves for the families of the young beloveds, whose lives were cut short in a moment by an abhorrent antisemitic murderer.”

 

The couple were planning a future together, officials said. “The young man purchased a ring this week with the intention of proposing to his girlfriend next week in Jerusalem," Leiter said at a late-night news conference.



Netanyahu directed security increases for Israeli missions and representatives around the world, he said.

President Donald Trump also condemned the violence.

“These horrible D.C. killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW! Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the USA. Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen!” Trump said on social media.

 

Kalin said the Young Diplomats reception, which was being held at the museum before the young couple was killed, focused on “turning pain into purpose,” with the aim of bringing together young professionals, both Jewish and non-Jewish, to talk about bridge-building in the Middle East and North Africa region.

 

“We were wanting to counter the us-versus-them narrative,” Kalin said. “It’s painfully ironic that at a time we were speaking about bridge-building, somebody came in with such hate and destruction.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi said that Jeanine Pirro, the interim U.S. attorney for Washington, will prosecute the case.



Steve Jensen, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office, said his team was working to determine whether the shooting may have been hate-motivated or potentially an act of terrorism.
