Evidence has been found at the site where a missing nuclear lab assistant was found dead, raising concerns about the state of the investigation.
A lawyer for the family of Melissa Casias, who vanished in June last year and was found dead 11 months later, told the Daily Mail several red flags involving law enforcement led loved ones to start their own search for answers - with stunning results.
David Adams of Parnall and Adams Law revealed that a trove of evidence was discovered nearly a month after New Mexico State Police had officially declared the crime scene clear and removed Casias's skeletal remains for medical examination.
That independent search of New Mexico's Carson National Forest in late June uncovered bones, torn and bloody clothing, orange peels and strands of hair that were not collected by police when the 53-year-old's body was found on May 28.
The lawyer also revealed that the family strongly believed Casias did not take her own life and had no reason to disappear.
Adams explained: 'There seemed to be a separate narrative taking place that somehow she wanted to be missing and that she had other places that she would be.'
Although the origins of the hair found at the scene have not been determined yet, the attorney noted that it appeared to be horse hair and theorized that the body of Casias may have been taken to this location by an unknown suspect.
'In my mind, when you see that, you kind of go, okay, well, I could see that you would need a horse to get her up there if you were moving a body, for instance, because how you would otherwise do that,' Adams said.
Melissa Casias worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, a long-running nuclear research facility, before disappearing on June 26 last year. Her remains were found on May 28
LINKS Between the DEAD
The Casias family and volunteers from the group 4Corners K-9 Search and Rescue also unearthed shredded paper, which relatives believe has Casias's handwriting on it and what appears to be a tobacco pouch. Casias reportedly did not use tobacco.
Adams said: 'The family really wasn't expecting to find any additional information, other than to just kind of finally have an idea of where her last resting grounds were, so they could kind of go pay their own respects, and it certainly turned out to be something much, much more.'
The find has turned the case on its head, with Adams claiming investigators in New Mexico have seriously damaged their credibility if it is found that Casias was the victim of foul play and a suspect is brought to trial.
'There becomes a question of a chain of custody... Could law enforcement have spat a tobacco pouch in the crime scene? I mean, certainly possible. I mean, that would be an example of just poor training,' Adams explained.
'If somebody actually did do that, I mean, it defeats every best practice regarding the crime scene and protecting the integrity of a crime scene.'
The Daily Mail has reached out to the New Mexico State Police for comment. A spokesman said the matter was being brought to investigators for further response.
Adams, who is a former federal prosecutor, said his firm was hired by Casias's parents and siblings after multiple red flags were raised by legal observers looking at the case who suspected foul play.
'There [were] enough phone calls coming in, where people were providing information that they thought was relevant based upon how they knew Melissa, and observations that they have made regarding it, and a lot of it has come to be information that I would undoubtedly dive deep into investigating,' he revealed.
'Some of it even stretches into government entities, not for their potential involvement in this, but more so from the perspective that people that should be interviewed have some very difficult relationships within government agencies that raised enough red flags for me,' Adams added.
Casias was an administrative assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory, a major nuclear research facility for the US government since World War II.
She vanished without a trace on June 26 last year, strangely walking out of her Ranchos de Taos home without her purse, keys or wallet and traveling alone eastward on State Road 518, roughly three miles from her home, around 2.20pm local time.
She also left both of her phones inside her home, which her family later found had been reset to factory settings, meaning all of Casias's messages and call data had been wiped off the devices. A drop of blood was also reportedly found inside the home.
A handgun was found next to Casias's skeletal remains in Carson National Forest on May 28, but police have not released any information about it, including who it belonged to, if it was fired and if any fingerprints were left on the weapon.
An anonymous law enforcement source told the Daily Mail that the circumstances of the Casias case were highly irregular, adding that key pieces of information should have been known by investigators weeks ago.
'They should have known who the gun belonged to that week if the serial number wasn't filed off,' the source declared.
They added that local police departments often send handguns in potential criminal cases to Washington, DC for detailed analysis, which would have produced results in far less than seven weeks.
The last update New Mexico State Police gave to the Daily Mail came on June 16, when authorities revealed that initial CT scans of Casias's skull did not show signs of a gunshot wound or traces of a bullet.
Adams confirmed that a bullet casing has not been found at the scene.
He added that the area where Casias was discovered was in a part of the New Mexico park that would have been extremely difficult to reach on foot and would have required several stops for rest and water.
The nuclear lab employee was one of four individuals who vanished under nearly identical circumstances over the last year in New Mexico, with each person having deep ties to America's nuclear weapons facilities in the state.
Fellow LANL employee Anthony Chavez, 79, worked at the lab until his retirement in 2017, although his role there has not been made clear. He vanished without a trace after walking out of his home on May 4 last year, just seven weeks before Casias.
Steven Garcia, 48, vanished without a trace on August 28 last year. He was last seen leaving his Albuquerque, New Mexico, home on foot, carrying only a handgun, a bottle of water and no identification or phone.
An anonymous source told the Daily Mail that Garcia was a government contractor working for the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), a major facility in Albuquerque that plays a key behind-the-scenes role in America's national defense.
Casias and other missing person cases came to light after retired Air Force General William Neil McCasland vanished from his New Mexico home on February 27.
The general had previously been in charge of the Air Force Research Lab, which worked closely together on national security projects, especially research involving America's nuclear capabilities, with both of these labs.
These disappearances, along with a string of deaths among NASA scientists tied to advanced rocket and propulsion research, have sparked a national conversation about the so-called 'missing scientists' case.
Calls for answers pushed Donald Trump to order the FBI to investigate any potential connections between the cases, however, intelligence officials have not provided any updates on their investigation since the President's announcement in April
In a statement on Wednesday, the bureau told the Daily Mail: 'The FBI continues to look for connections into the missing and deceased scientists. We are working with the Department of Energy, Department of War, and with our state and local law enforcement partners to find answers.'
Adams disputed the FBI's claims, telling the Daily Mail that there has been no contact with the bureau and no signs of any federal presence in the Casias case to this point.
Adams, whose firm specializes in helping families in missing person and homicide cases, especially those involving women, has previously taken legal action against law enforcement agencies over alleged failures in properly investigating crimes.
The attorney could not say if the handling of this case would eventually lead to legal action on behalf of the Casias family, but noted that the new evidence recovered from Carson National Forest was turned over to authorities to assist with the investigation.
Nearly two months later, the Office of the Medical Investigator has not revealed an official cause of death or whether the case was being viewed as a suicide or murder.

Schumer pleads with Fetterman to stay in the Democratic Party as Defection talk grows

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer publicly urged Sen. John Fetterman to remain a Democrat, calling him "a very good member of Congress", even as Fetterman's approval among his own party's voters has collapsed to 19 percent.
Schumer told reporters Wednesday that Democrats want Fetterman in the fold, downplaying months of open speculation that the Pennsylvania senator could bolt the party he has increasingly clashed with on Israel, immigration, and the leftward drift of its activist base. The New York Post reported that Schumer described Democrats as "a big-tent party" capable of absorbing disagreement, a generous characterization, given how aggressively the party's progressive wing has tried to marginalize Fetterman over the past year.
The plea came days after Senate Majority Leader John Thune made clear that Republicans are happy to have the conversation Schumer is trying to shut down. Thune told reporters he and several GOP colleagues have already spoken with Fetterman about the difficulties he faces inside the Democratic caucus.
"I have had conversations with him in the past, as have many of my colleagues, about the challenges he faces in his caucus. And there are many of us who, I think, would welcome the opportunity to have him join the Republican conference, but ultimately that's a decision that's up to him."
That is not a vague gesture. It is an open door from the leader of the Senate majority, and it puts Schumer in the position of publicly courting a member whose voters back the other party by a four-to-one margin.
Fetterman's 19 percent problem with his own base
The numbers tell the story Schumer's praise cannot paper over. A Quinnipiac poll found Fetterman's approval rating among Pennsylvania Democrats sits at just 19 percent. Among Pennsylvania Republicans, it is 77 percent. Those are not the numbers of a man whose party considers him a valued teammate. Those are the numbers of a man whose political home has moved, or whose party has moved away from him.
Fetterman has drawn a clear red line around Israel policy, warning that he would leave the Democratic Party if it formally aligns against the Jewish state "If our party ever becomes, and just makes it official, the anti-Israel party, that's when I would leave because that's been a moral clarity for me," Fetterman said last month.
That condition is not hypothetical. The Washington Examiner reported that Fetterman has pointed to the rise of anti-Israel Democratic candidates as evidence the party is drifting in exactly the direction he warned about. He cited Abdul el Sayed's candidacy in Michigan and socialist Darializa Avila Chevalier's campaign in New York as examples of the trend driving his frustration.
Fetterman has also sounded the alarm about the broader leftward lurch he sees inside the party, a critique that has only deepened his isolation from Democratic activists and progressive media.
A May op-ed said he'd stay, but left a wide exit
In a Washington Post op-ed published in May, Fetterman wrote that he would not leave the Democratic Party. He argued he would not fit inside the GOP either, describing himself as "strongly pro-choice, pro-weed, pro-LGBT, pro-SNAP, pro-labor and even pro-rib-eye over bioslop."
But that op-ed reads differently now than it did two months ago. Fetterman's subsequent statements about the Israel red line and his alarm over socialist candidates suggest the conditions he laid out for staying are eroding in real time. Saying "I'm not leaving" while describing a party you barely recognize is not a commitment, it is a countdown.
Political analyst Chris Cillizza offered a blunt prediction: Fetterman will no longer be a Democrat if he seeks a second term in 2028. Newsmax reported that Cillizza expects Fetterman to run as an independent rather than face a hostile Democratic primary electorate.
That prediction tracks with Fetterman's own positioning. Just The News noted that Fetterman has ruled out becoming a Republican outright, suggesting independence as the likelier path if he does leave the caucus.
Schumer's own left flank is closing in
Schumer's public kindness toward Fetterman is not just about keeping one senator. It is about math. Democrats need to flip a net of four Senate seats in the 2028 midterms to retake the majority. Losing Fetterman, whether to a party switch, an independent run, or a primary defeat, makes that math worse before a single ballot is cast.
Schumer faces his own pressures from the left. Since Democrats were forced into the minority after the 2024 election, progressive activists have targeted Schumer for cooperating with Republicans. He drew sharp criticism after cutting a deal to avert a government shutdown in March of last year, a move the party's activist base treated as capitulation.
He has also declined to endorse populist primary candidates in key Senate races, backing establishment figures like Maine Gov. Janet Mills and Rep. Haley Stevens of Michigan instead. Both Schumer and Fetterman face re-election in 2028, and both are likely to draw well-funded primary challenges from the left.
So, Schumer is caught between two forces: a progressive base that wants him to punish dissenters like Fetterman, and a political reality that requires him to hold every seat he has. His solution, calling Fetterman a "very good member" while the party's base gives Fetterman a 19 percent approval rating, satisfies neither side.
Thune's open invitation changes the leverage
What makes Schumer's position especially weak is that Thune's public welcome was not a one-off comment. The Senate Majority Leader confirmed that multiple Republican senators have spoken with Fetterman about the difficulties he faces inside the Democratic caucus. Those are not casual hallway exchanges. When the majority leader tells reporters his conference has been in active conversation with a senator from the other party, the courtship is well underway.
"We would welcome him," Thune said, four words that carry more weight than all of Schumer's big-tent rhetoric combined.
Fetterman may never formally switch parties. His pro-choice and pro-labor positions create genuine friction with Republican orthodoxy, and he has said so himself. But the growing bipartisan courtship around him exposes a deeper problem for Democrats: when a sitting senator's own voters reject him by an 81-to-19 margin, the party has not lost a member. It has lost the plot.
Schumer can call the Democratic Party a big tent all he wants. But a tent that chases out everyone who disagrees with the loudest voices inside it is not big. It is just loud.

Yet there are many papers in the peer reviewed literature showing the opposite. If the studies are sufficiently powered, they all show the unvaccinated are healthier. Not by a little. By wide margins. And these are the kids within a pediatric practice so they are all seen by a doctor to check on their health status.
Furthermore, I couldn’t find a single verifiable in-family anecdote where the unvaccinated kids in the family were less healthy than their vaccinated siblings. Please answer the survey at the end of this article and let’s get your experience.

How the German KiGGS study found “no difference”
There is a German KiGGS study showed no statistical difference between groups. How was that done? Easy!
They make the comparison group so small that it is virtually impossible to have statistical significance!
Know how many fully unvaccinated kids in the retracted Thomas study? 561 unvaccinated kids in just one small clinic in the US.
But the German government could only find 94 unvaccinated kids in all of Germany.
Think about that… Paul Thomas in his clinic had 561 unvaccinated kids vs. 94 found in all of Germany.
So what does science do? They retract the Paul Thomas study and leave the study were the participant numbers were too small to detect a signal.
Even with the limited numbers, the KiGGS study found that for 11- to 17-year-olds, only 20.3% of unvaccinated kids had an atopic disease vs. 29.9% for vaccinated kids, a 50% increase in atopic disease for vaccinated kids. But because the sample sizes were so small, they can honestly declare this huge difference to be not statistically significant. This is how the game is played.
No in-family counterexamples have been spontaneously reported on X
I asked Grok to search the entire history of X for parents who posted observations about their kids.
Here is the result:
In every case where some kids were vaccinated, and some were unvaccinated, the parents reported the unvaccinated were healthier, e.g., “leagues healthier.”
Conversely, there were no reports of a parent posting the opposite, except for FakeScottDavis who claimed his unvaccinated kid was less healthy but provided no detail. And that post was ONLY after I challenged people and in direct reply to my post. It was not a spontaneous parent report.
So, 100% of the spontaneous parent reports in the history of X document that the unvaccinated are far healthier, consistent with all the published research studies (and the unpublished Zervos study).

Summary
No studies in human history published in the peer reviewed literature show vaccinated kids are uniformly healthier than their unvaccinated siblings. Zero evidence. All of them show the opposite (or are inconclusive because they keep the unvaccinated cohort extremely small).
SAGE Open Medicine would like to retract one of the studies doing the comparison so there would be less evidence for scientists to consider. But the reason they are investigating has to be kept secret so the public doesn’t know. This is how all paper retractions work; it’s all behind closed doors and everyone involved refuses to talk about it. It is baffling why they think doing all this in secret inspires confidence in science.
I talked to a journal editor of a very prominent PubMed indexed journal who admitted the papers are retracted because they were written by anti-vaxxers. But he swore me to secrecy before he admitted that to me because he still works at the journal and doesn’t want his staff to quit. That is the real reason why these retraction deliberations have to be kept secret: because they are not about science. I thought you should know that.

Spain is being overrun in real time. Tens of thousands of military-aged African men are swarming the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco, climbing fences, swimming around breakwaters, and walking unopposed into European territory while local authorities beg for help that the far left government refuses to give.
Reception centres are smashed beyond capacity. Juvenile facilities sit at 2,400 percent. Hundreds sleep on the streets. And Spain’s socialist prime minister Pedro Sánchez responds with empty talk of “solutions” and “cooperation.”
This is not an accident. It is the predictable result of years of deliberate policy.
Over the past 24 hours, the border at Ceuta has been overrun. Moroccan media reported more than 30,000 people moving on the Spanish enclave.
Alarming videos show endless columns of young men walking through Moroccan streets toward the border, climbing barbed-wire fences with no police visible on either side, swimming around the Tarajal breakwaters, and pouring onto Spanish beaches and hillsides.
Note that the vast majority appear to be military-aged males.
One of the new arrivals, captured on camera, admitted he was linked to a killing in Morocco and was fleeing justice. Another video shows crowds celebrating on Spanish soil while police stand powerless.
Sánchez posted: “The Government of Spain is fully committed to providing an immediate response to the situation in Ceuta… This is the moment to build solutions, with responsibility and cooperation.”
In the week leading up to the surge more than 1,500 had already arrived by sea. Daily numbers exceeded 200. Minors’ centres hit 2,400 percent capacity. Ceuta’s president Juan Jesús Vivas declared an “absolute humanitarian and social emergency.”
“We are in a situation of total humanitarian and social emergency,” Vivas said. “In the past few days more than 1,500 migrants, both adults and minors, have come to Ceuta by sea. The reception centres are saturated – there is no more room for anyone in them and according to yesterday’s figures the number of people entering is more than 200 a day.”
He formally requested a national emergency declaration, military deployment, and full border closure. Sánchez’s government refused. The Interior Ministry said it would protect “border integrity” with ordinary police reinforcements but would not declare a national emergency that would unlock special funds and army support.
Vox leader Santiago Abascal answered without hesitation: “Sánchez is a traitor, a corrupt man, and an indecent person. He acts as the enemy of the Spanish people. The national emergency can only be resolved by ousting him and putting him in the dock.”
The timing of all this is not random. It has occurred on the eve of Morocco’s Throne Day, when King Mohammed VI pardoned nearly 1,800 prisoners. Earlier in the year he had freed more, including terrorists. As a form of celebration, Moroccan authorities appear to have opened the gates.
Spain’s Socialist-communist government under Sánchez has spent the last two years rolling out the welcome mat on an industrial scale. In early 2026 the regime pushed through a mass regularisation scheme that opened the door to legal status for hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants who could show a few months of presence and a clean(ish) record. Officials initially spoke of half a million. Applications quickly blew past one million.
Sánchez called the move “an act of justice” and a necessity for the Spanish economy. George Soros’s son publicly praised him for showing “what real leadership looks like.” The People’s Party tried to block it. Vox called it electoral engineering. The decree sailed through anyway, bypassing parliament. Family reunification rules and Schengen free-movement rights mean the real number settling across Europe will be far higher.
The same government had already watched consulates and registry offices collapse under the weight of migrants scrambling for papers after earlier amnesties. Scenes of men climbing embassy walls and overwhelming offices became routine.
Public opinion was never consulated. A 2025 Sigma Dos poll for El Mundo found 70 percent of Spaniards support mass deportation of illegal immigrants, including majorities among PSOE voters.
The demographic shift has been brutal. A CEU-CEFAS Demographic Observatory study showed foreigners commit five times more rapes and four times more murders per capita than Spanish citizens.
In Catalonia, 91 percent of convicted rapists are migrants, who make up only 17 percent of the population. Penetrative rape cases rose 143 percent between 2019 and 2024. Attempted murders nearly doubled. Foreigners are massively over-represented in violent robbery, property occupation, and prison numbers.
Seventy percent of tested “unaccompanied minors” turned out to be adults.
The streets have told the same story in blood. In Valencia a 26-year-old Algerian illegal migrant with 18 prior detentions and an unenforced expulsion order recently stomped a 46-year-old Spanish man’s head into the pavement, leaving him in a coma with catastrophic brain injuries.
Barcelona has seen knife attacks, execution-style shootings, a Muslim migrant shouting “Allahu Akbar” while stabbing a young woman to death, a man lynched and stabbed by a migrant mob for evicting squatters, and a Gambian migrant arrested for stabbing a police officer while screaming the same slogan.
Older Spaniards have been beaten in the street; citizens have rioted in response.
These are not isolated incidents. They are the daily reality under open-border governance.
Spaniards are turning their homes into fortresses in an attempt to secure their families:
Across the Atlantic, President Donald Trump has been saying what European leaders refuse to. In recent remarks he stated plainly: “They’re invading Europe! They’re invading Europe… it’s a total invasion! And the United Kingdom is the number one suspect!”
He announced he would propose a “Western Survival Pact”: nations that close their borders, carry out mass deportations, and defend their culture stay together. Those that refuse stand alone.
Spain under Sánchez has chosen the opposite path. Mass amnesty, non-enforcement of expulsions, refusal to treat an open invasion as a national emergency, and the quiet transfer of new arrivals to the mainland so they can disappear into Schengen.
The result is visible on every beach and hillside in Ceuta today: a country that no longer controls its own territory.
The footage does not lie. The numbers do not lie. The crime statistics do not lie. Spain is being transformed in real time by policy, not by accident. And the rest of Europe is next.

Weale says these experiences convinced him the organization was concealing its true intentions. Speaking as someone who has spent decades studying PEI's history, he argues the issue is not simply land ownership but the concentration of wealth, influence and power in the hands of corporations and organizations operating without meaningful public scrutiny.
Interviewed during the demonstration outside the Council of the Federation meeting on Prince Edward Island, Weale says the province has become a gateway for money, influence and immigration pathways that extend far beyond the Island itself.
He alleges that political silence has been bought, points to what he calls a new oligarchy of lawyers, developers and other elites benefiting from the system, and argues that ordinary Islanders have been left demoralized as institutions lose public trust. For Weale, the controversy is no longer about one organization but about whether Prince Edward Island still has the ability to control its own future.
