That enemy was not an invading army or a terrorist. It was the enemy of self. The greatest threat to our maturity is we think of ourselves far too often. But why do we choose this route when Jesus has better things in mind? The answer lies in the enemy’s whisperings, “Go ahead, indulge yourself. You deserve to be happy.” But honestly, have you noticed how unhappy you become when your eyes are focused on yourself?

The sad truth is that the road to happiness is never-ending. The destination is always just around the corner. The Lord would rather have us pursue the joy of blessing others instead of fleeting happiness. Like infatuation is to love, happiness is to joy. One is emotionally powerful but short-lived, while the other is meaningful and abiding. When our eyes are centered on ourselves and our happiness, we become the most important thing, which is the opposite of true Christianity. Following Christ means that I have, by His power, determined to love others more than myself. Today, can you and I make an agreement to let the welfare and growth of others govern our actions and words? Let’s agree to put self-interests on the back burner and be free from the tyranny of self. Jesus Christ has promised to take care of our needs. Now, let us see to it that we love those that God puts in our path… His Will being done in me & through me! Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky paid a suprise visit to Kherson on Monday to laud soldiers and take selfies with them in the recently liberated southern city.

Kherson’s main square was the sight of celebrations for a third straight day as Ukrainians marked the end of Russian rule.

Ukrainian symbols and infrastructure returned to Kherson with impressive speed on the weekend – just six weeks after Mr. Putin claimed to have annexed the entire region – even as regional governor Yaroslav Yanushevych warned residents on Sunday not to gather in the city centre because “the enemy has placed mines almost everywhere.” He ordered a 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. curfew as the Ukrainian military continued to hunt for pockets of resistance in and around the city.

Russian troops left behind a city – which had a prewar population of almost 300,000 – that on Sunday was still without electricity, heat, water or communications. As the Kyivstar mobile phone company raced to restore mobile phone service, a crowd gathered in a park on the edge of the river where they could still get a signal using their Russian SIM cards. 'Multi-demic' hits Canada's health-care system

The latest data from Ontario, for example, shows patients spend an average of about 21 hours waiting in emergency rooms before they’re admitted. According to data collected by CTVNews.ca, COVID-19-related hospitalizations are starting to dip across the country. Despite this, pediatric clinics and hospitals continue to be inundated with sick children. While the latest data from Saskatchewan shows a drop in the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations week-over-week, one family doctor says he is seeing “crazy high volumes” of kids sick with various respiratory viruses. In Manitoba, residents of Winnipeg are seeing a sharp increase in school absences and children’s hospital visits. However, Premier Heather Stefanson said the province currently has no plans to reintroduce a mask mandate. The situation is no better in Ontario. Data released on Nov. 10 shows a slight drop in the number of hospital patients with COVID-19 week-over-week. However, the province’s pediatric ICUs are operating well over capacity. The surge in patients has led some hospitals to limit surgical procedures and open additional intensive care units. The weekly number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in Quebec, and Atlantic provinces such as Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, are also on the decline.
