The Top Bible Verse and Chapter of 2025

As we begin a new year, many of us like to look back on the previous year and reflect. It’s human nature to take stock of what we did and learned the previous year to make sense of where we’re at as we stand at the open door of the unexplored new year stretching before us.


We like to look at our previous year “wrapped,” whether in music, movies, books, miles travelled, new hobbies explored, or any other metric. As Christians, we may also find it interesting and insightful to reflect on which Bible verse or verses stood out to us in the past year and what parts of Scripture particularly spoke to us.


We’d love to hear what Bible verses were most impactful for you in 2025, and we also wanted to share what Scriptures were most popular for our Bible Study Tools readers this past year.


What Were the Top Bible Verses of 2025?

So, without further ado, the top-searched Bible verse on Bible Study Tools in 2025 was…

"'For I know the plans I have for you,'” declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."


The top Bible passage or chapter was…

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,    my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you from the Fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.

With long life I will satisfy him    and show him my salvation.”

These are likely not surprising passages to top the list, yet it’s helpful to move behind their surface-level popularity and truly dig into what God is saying here.


What Is the Meaning of Jeremiah 29:11?

Let’s first look at Jeremiah 29:11. While the meaning of this verse may seem fairly straightforward, the historical context is crucial. Often, modern-day Christians will use this verse as something of a “catch-all” to say that God has good things planned for them, whether in their career, relationships, health, or any other part of life. It almost becomes a type of prosperity gospel mantra. 


While the belief that God desires good for his people and that he will take care of those who belong to him is certainly scriptural (see Matt. 6:25-33, for example), Scripture also has much to say about the hardships and trials we will face in this life, particularly as followers of Christ.

As Jolene Underwood notes in her Bible Study Tools article “Does Jeremiah 29:11 Mean That God Won’t Let Bad Things Happen to Me?”, ironically, this extremely popular verse actually comes from the book of a very unpopular prophet (Jeremiah), who has even been called the “Weeping Prophet.” Jeremiah proclaimed God’s message to the Israelites while they were enduring exile in Babylon. In addition to this hopeful message in 29:11, Jeremiah prophesied to the Israelites that they would remain in exile for another 70 years. The majority of his book is filled with God’s judgment on the Israelites’ idolatry and the hardships they would face. Jeremiah 29:11 is a beacon of hope in the midst of an otherwise sobering message and book.


But perhaps that gives it even deeper hope for us today. Instead of a trite “God wants you to prosper” message that we can glean from this verse on the surface, through this context, we see that the Lord will never leave or forsake us, even when it feels like we are in exile like the Israelites. Even then, he offers us hope and the promise of a better future through Christ.


This verse gets at the heart of the Christian message as we live in what has been called the “Already-But-Not Yet,” when our relationship with God has been restored through the blood of Christ, yet we still live in a fallen world, marred by sin. 

As Underwood writes, “The Hebrew word translated as ‘plan’ also means thoughts, intention, and purpose. When God says, ‘I know the plans I have for you,’ he says he knows what we do not know.


God knows the big picture for all humanity, from the beginning of time until the end. He knows how to cultivate good things and new growth, even after decades of destruction and defiance. God knows the thoughts and intentions of his heart for us, which are always for restoration. It is his intention to bring us closer to him and closer to his original design, for our sake, and for his kingdom.”

Hope, indeed.


What Is the Meaning of Psalm 91? (It’s More Similar to Jeremiah 29:11 Than You May Think)

Now let’s turn to Psalm 91. Interestingly, we will see some parallels with Jeremiah 29:11.

Psalm 91 was 2025’s top Bible chapter. This is another popular portion of Scripture that many have turned to for hope and encouragement in times of trial and trouble. In fact, this psalm is the first psalm or chapter of Scripture I ever memorized, and it continues to be a Scripture passage that sticks with me, as I’m sure it does for many of you.

From beginning to end, Psalm 91 describes how the Lord will protect, defend, and strengthen those who trust in him. The evocative imagery recalls a hedge of protection—an impenetrable fortress protected by God himself and his angels. 



Again, as with Jeremiah 29:11, we know that this psalm is not saying that those who follow the Lord will never experience trouble or that their lives will be easy and effortless. That would be inconsistent with the rest of Scripture. 

However, this psalm offers a powerful and compelling truth that, as followers of the Lord, he will fight our battles, and ultimately, no true harm will come to us because our souls belong to him (see also Luke 12:4-5).


A New Testament Reference to Psalm 91

It’s also noteworthy that when Satan tempted Jesus in the Wilderness, Satan quotes from Psalm 91:

“Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. ‘If you are the Son of God,’ he said, ‘throw yourself down. For it is written:

“He will command his angels concerning you,    and they will lift you up in their hands,so that you will not strike your foot against a stone” (Matt. 4:5-6).


Interestingly, it could be said that, like some Christians today who misuse Scripture passages like Jeremiah 29:11 and Psalm 91 to proclaim a kind of prosperity gospel in which God will never allow anything bad to happen to you if you do A, B, and C, Satan misuses this passage in much the same way, telling Jesus that if he is God’s Son, then surely God will protect him. Jesus, of course, rebukes Satan by also quoting Scripture and telling him not to ascertain God’s protection by putting it to the test.


Similarly, in the Garden of Gethsemane, when Judas leads the Jewish religious leaders and Roman soldiers to capture him, Jesus assures them that, if he wished to, he could ask God to send a legion of angels to protect him, and God would do so. 

But he did not. Jesus chose to step outside the fortress of divine protection described in Psalm 91 and become a human being:


“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!” (Phil. 2:8). 

And he did this so that we could claim the kind of protection offered in Psalm 91 for eternity. 

After all that, I’m not at all surprised these two Bible passages were favourites this past year!

Is Radical Islam a derivative of Zionism?

I do not oppose Zionism out of hatred for the Jewish people or the State of Israel, nor do I harbour animosity toward Muslims or the Islamic faith. However, we must recognize that both Zionism and radical Islam pose significant challenges to Western nations. These challenges must be confronted and understood not only through their historical context, but with principled evaluation.

 

Our Former Allies: The Arab Revolt

During World War I, Great Britain and its allies courted Arab tribes to revolt against the Ottoman Empire. One may even argue that the dismemberment and exploitation of the Ottoman Empire was a key objective and motivation that triggered WW1. Figures like Lawrence of Arabia symbolize an era where Muslim Arabs were essential Western allies. Following the war, these tribes were rewarded with territories and the establishment of monarchies. In return, the West secured access to exploit and profit from the region’s energy resources.

 

The primary failures of this arrangement were the 1916 Sykes-Picot treaty, where the 3 Western powers, Great Britain, France and Russia secretly agreed on how to plunder and partition the Ottoman Empire, and the British Mandate for Palestine. Following the 1917 Balfour Declaration, Britain permitted and facilitated the sale of Palestinian land to European Jewish settlers. This included the “Haavara Agreement,” which allowed 60,000 German Jews to emigrate to Palestine in exchange for money/assets. This influx led to escalating tensions with the indigenous Arab population in Palestine. By 1948, amidst open warfare, Britain withdrew, and the State of Israel was declared.

 

The Expansion of Zionism (1948–1967)

The 1948 conflict resulted in the Nakba, or “catastrophe,” during which approximately 750,000 Palestinians were displaced. While a tenuous ceasefire held for nearly two decades, the 1967 Six-Day War fundamentally altered the map. Israel’s preemptive strike led to the seizure of the Sinai Peninsula, the Golan Heights, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. While the Sinai was returned to Egypt in 1982, the other territories remain under military occupation. This second conflict displaced an additional 400,000 Palestinians.

Zionism is an Ideology,

Zionism is the political ideology that justifies a Jewish nation-state, yet it also serves as the foundation for laws that marginalize non-Jewish residents. It functions as an ethno-racial ideology, promoting a hierarchy of humanity based on ancestry or faith.

 

History is replete with similar frameworks. South Africa’s Apartheid system classified Black citizens as inferior; the West eventually found this abhorrent and sanctioned the regime. The 1947 Partition of India created borders based on religion, leading to mass displacement and ongoing hostilities. Even the United States long maintained a racial hierarchy through naturalization laws and Jim Crow segregation.

 

While Zionism has unique characteristics, it shares a common thread with these systems. Notable Jewish scholars, such as Zeev Sternhell and Yeshayahu Leibowitz, have warned that this path leads to a “descent into fascism.” Leibowitz even utilized the term “Judeo-Nazis” to describe those who prioritize land and ethnicity over fundamental human rights.

 

The Impact on Canada

Canadians should take note because the logical corollary of “Greater Israel” has been the displacement of Middle Eastern Arab Christians and Muslims. This is achieved through a two-pronged approach: discriminatory property and civil liberty laws and military conflicts that force migration.

 

As a result, roughly one million people from these conflict zones have settled in Canada. Like many other immigrants, they often carry generations of trauma and animosity toward the Western powers that supported their displacement. Consequently, it has become commonplace in Canada to see regional conflicts—whether Palestinian-Israeli or Sikh-Hindu—spill over into violent domestic protests.

 

Recently, Canada has shifted its stance, offering mild criticism of illegal Israeli settlements and moving toward the recognition of a Palestinian state. However, the Canadian political establishment remains heavily influenced by wealthy interest groups like CIJA and CJPAC. This influence often results in a “silent” endorsement of unequal treatment under Israeli law, contributing to the unrest seen in Canadian cities today.

 

The Cost of Double Standards are Civil Liberties

In the United States and Canada, there is growing concern that elected representatives prioritize foreign interests over domestic policy. Furthermore, the rise of global terrorism is largely a byproduct of these policies. By supporting the displacement of Palestinians, Western nations have effectively turned many of their WWI Arab allies into “Radical Islamists” foes.

 

This shift has direct consequences for our civil liberties. The transition to a surveillance-censorship state—manifested in “no-fly lists,” intense airport security, and restricted financial transactions and censorship—is a direct response to the friction created by our Middle Eastern foreign policy. To understand these restrictions, we must look at how our embrace of Zionism transformed a region of friends into a source of perpetual conflict.

Zionism and the Double Standard

Most Canadians strenuously oppose racial-ethnic laws at home as antithetical to Western values, yet many support these same laws in Israel. This is a clear double standard: Canada adopts multiculturalism domestically while supporting an ethno-nationalist state abroad.

 

Canada was once at the forefront of the campaign against South African Apartheid, using sanctions and expulsion from the Commonwealth to demand change. Yet, regarding Zionism, the West has remained largely silent. The hypocrisy of yesterday has finally caught up to the double standards of today.

Can we find a new Lawrence in Arabia to navigate a more principled path?


If it weren’t for Double Standards, we would have no standards in Politics.

While Bibi Netanyahu, the alleged criminal and fugitive from international law, remains at large and enjoying a round of golf at Mar-a-Lago, alleged American fugitive Nicholas Maduro has been kidnapped in Caracas and is en route to an American prison.

Although the American track record of using the military to create democracy is somewhat spotty at best and Trump promised not to do this ever again. Promises are often short-lived in politics and seldom last an entire election cycle.

But what is often overlooked is the consequences for Americans and the Western world when the military is used to impose democracy

One thing that is an observable fact while watching politics for 60 years is that. Is it that every time the USA resorts to military action, there are second-order consequences for the entire Western world, including Canadians?

1. The American surveillance state grows larger.

2. The need for more censorship is justified.

3. Disrespect and abuse of due process escalates.

4. And America’s beacon for world liberty dims.


It’s a simple and timeless fact that when you make enemies abroad, it becomes more dangerous at home. America has a poor record of “freeing” people or making other countries “better off. thru military actions.

2. Iraq

3. Ukraine

4. Syria

5. Chile

6. Yugoslavia

7. Grenada

8. Panama

9. Afghanistan

10. Cambodia

11. Vietnam

Come to mind.


But surely, this time it will be different in Venezuela.

Who benefits from these actions? Certainly not the “freed people” in faraway lands, nor Americans at home. But military/corporate interests profit greatly from these overseas expeditions and have also profited and overtaken America’s foundational interests in Liberty.

My great friend and former employee, Michael Snape (31), was on the bus with his wife, Josie, and 11-month-old daughter, Lydia. EMTs were called, and Michael was immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition and underwent emergency brain surgery, where part of his skull was removed. He was heavily sedated until this evening (Sunday, December 21st) but is now in and out of consciousness with no understanding of what has happened. His

Tim Walz to drop out of Minnesota Governor’s Race:

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is dropping out of the Minnesota governor’s race on Monday, according to two people directly familiar with the governor’s thinking.

Walz, who served as the Democrats’ 2024 vice presidential nominee, met with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) on Sunday to discuss the campaign, as Klobuchar considers her own run for the governorship, according to one of the people familiar with the meeting.


Walz had faced increasing political pressure over a federal probe into a sweeping fraud scandal in the state. Republicans were eager to tie Walz to the scheme, though he is not accused of any wrongdoing.

Walz is expected to hold a press conference Monday morning.

Feds Thwart ‘Horrific’ ISIS-Inspired New Year’s Eve Terror Attack ‘With Knives and Hammers’ in North Carolina

The FBI has thwarted a New Year’s Eve terror strike that was planned for North Carolina, federal authorities announced on Friday.


Christian Sturdivant, 18, was arrested in connection with the alleged plot in Mint Hill, NC.

The suspect had reportedly spent “over a year” planning to commit jihad at a supermarket and fast food restaurant there, Russ Ferguson, U.S. attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, said during a Friday news conference.

“He said he was going to wear a Kevlar vest and attack people with knives and hammers,” Ferguson said.


While executing a search warrant at the Sturdivant’s home, knives and hammers were found under his bed, along with notes that detailed his plans, Ferguson said.

Earlier, FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X that the man behind the foiled attack was “allegedly inspired by ISIS.”


Attorney General Pam Bondi called the plot “horrific.”

“The Department of Justice remains vigilant in our pursuit of evil ISIS sympathizers — anyone plotting to commit such depraved attacks will face the full force of the law,” she said.

The news comes days after a 21-year-old Texas man was busted for providing bomb-making materials to an undercover agent he believed was an ISIS “brother.”

John Michael Garza Jr. of Midlothian, Texas, was charged after he brought various explosive materials to a meeting with the undercover agent on December 22, the Justice Department announced on Monday.

Loeffler Says MN Fraud ‘Tip of the Iceberg,’ ‘More to Come Across the Country’

Friday on FNC’s “Hannity,” SBA administrator Kelly Loeffler predicted fraud revealed in Minnesota would be much more widespread and predicted criminal penalties for those found to be a part of it.


“Look, I think you’re doing a fabulous job,” guest host Jason Chaffetz said. “I think you’ve done amazing work in highlighting this and trying to cut it off as best you can, but — I mean, this is a lot of money that just keeps flowing.”


Loeffler replied, “Jason, you’re right. It’s a ton of money, and it’s just the tip of the iceberg happening in Minnesota. And as I said, I think there’s more to come across the country. This is just the start. It’s the first state. But what we did on day one, remember it was back Thanksgiving weekend when we found out the depth of this fraud. It was estimated at a billion dollars. We know it’s well over that now. We started to investigate, and within three days, we found $3 million worth of fraud.”


“So, I want to thank my great team for working over the holidays, going through thousands and thousands of loans,” she continued. “We found about 7,900 fraudulent loans, including about 6,900 individuals. Some of those people had two loans that they will never going to be able to do business with the SBA again. They’re on the do-not-lend list. They will not get a disaster loan. They cannot get SBA funding. And so, we’re going to pile — compile this data, turn it over to federal authorities because we do think, as you just talked about with Chairman Comer, we’re going to see people in handcuffs. We’re going to see people in jail.”


“And I’m so grateful to the chairman for holding this committee, but it’s also taking action from those of us in the Trump administration who are in lock step with the chairman and making sure that people do go to jail and that we have accountability for the hardworking American people who are paying taxes every single day,” Loeffler added.

Rubio to Cuba: 'I'd be concerned' after US military Arrests Venezuelan leader Maduro

Rubio said Venezuela must 'declare independence from Cuba' amid its presence in the South American nation

 

Cuban leaders should be concerned after the U.S. military operation in Venezuela and the arrest of Nicolás Maduro, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Saturday, as President Donald Trump signalled that his administration could shift its focus to the Caribbean island.


Cuba has long maintained a presence in Venezuela, with intelligence agents and security personnel embedded amid close relations between Havana and Caracas.

Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, said Venezuela’s spy agency was "basically full of Cubans" as was Maduro’s security detail.

"One of the biggest problems Venezuelans have is they have to declare independence from Cuba," he said during a news conference in which officials revealed details of the military operation. "They tried to basically colonize it from a security standpoint."


He added that the communist island was "a disaster. It’s run by incompetent, senile men — and in some cases, not senile, but incompetent nonetheless."

The secretary has repeatedly denounced Cuba and its leadership as a dictatorship and a failed state.


"If I lived in Havana, and I was in the government, I’d be concerned — at least a little bit," Rubio said.

Trump said Cuba was something his administration would "end up talking about because Cuba is a failing nation right now — a very badly failing nation.

"And we want to help the people," he added. "It’s very similar in the sense that we want to help the people in Cuba, but we also want to help the people who were forced out of Cuba and are living in this country."

Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were taken by U.S. forces and taken aboard the USS Iwo Jima. They were expected to be transported to the U.S. to face federal charges.


The couple, along with other Venezuelan officials, face "drug trafficking and narco-terrorism conspiracies," according to an unsealed indictment posted on social media Saturday by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.

They are accused of partnering with drug cartels to traffic drugs into the U.S.

Maduro and his wife "will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts," Bondi wrote.

They are charged with narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machine guns and destructive devices and conspiracy to possess machine guns and destructive devices against the U.S.

Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-Utica, was speaking with a radio host from Albany, N.Y., about how to prevent future mass shootings when she made the claim.

"Interestingly, so many of these people who commit the mass murders end up being Democrats, but the media doesn't talk about that either," Tenney said on Feb. 21, 2018.

Zelenskyy appoints Chrystia Freeland as Economic Development Adviser to Ukraine — National Post

The president says Canada's former deputy prime minister has 'extensive experience in attracting investment and implementing economic transformations.'

OTTAWA — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed former federal minister Chrystia Freeland as an adviser on economic development.

Freeland has long expressed her support for Ukraine during its war with Russia.

She has said the country could become an economic juggernaut by taking up the opportunities it missed after the collapse of the Soviet Union.


In a post on social media Monday, Zelenskyy said Ukraine needs to strengthen what he called its "internal resilience."

"Chrystia is highly skilled in these matters and has extensive experience in attracting investment and implementing economic transformations," he said.


"Right now, Ukraine needs to strengthen its internal resilience — both for the sake of Ukraine’s recovery if diplomacy delivers results as swiftly as possible, and to reinforce our defence if, because of delays by our partners, it takes longer to bring this war to an end."


The Canadian Press has reached out to Freeland's office for comment but has not yet received a response.

Freeland, who has Ukrainian ancestry, was a cabinet minister and deputy prime minister in Justin Trudeau's government.

She was named by Prime Minister Mark Carney as Canada's special representative for the reconstruction of Ukraine.


She stepped away from the cabinet in September but still represents the federal riding of University—Rosedale in Toronto.

The Canadian Press has reached out to Canada's conflict of interest commissioner for comment.

While Canada's Conflict of Interest Act cites several things MPs are not allowed to do — such as engaging in outside professions or employment — it does not include specific language about advising a foreign head of government.


This latest appointment comes after Freeland was named the incoming CEO of the Rhodes Trust, an Oxford, England-based educational charity.

The charity is famous for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship that offers students from around the world a chance to study at the University of Oxford.

This job will see Freeland relocate to Oxford, with a start date of July 1.


Freeland has not formally announced any plans to resign as a member of Parliament, but has said she will not run in the next election.

She has been seen only seldom in the House of Commons since leaving cabinet, but has continued to take part in votes remotely.


Freeland's social media shows she spent much of the fall and early winter travelling between Toronto, Ukraine and other European nations as part of her duties as Canada's representative on the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Few seem aware of the interwoven strategic geopolitical relationships at play behind the headlines coming from both Iran and Venezuela. However, you can rest assured that neither Secretary of State Rubio nor POTUS Donald Trump is so naive. The recent action against Nicolás Maduro was billed as taking aggressive steps against a chronic sponsor of narcoterrorism, but the issues are much deeper. At this very moment, a politically diverse range of social media influencers are busy criticizing this intervention. Still, none seem to be aware of or accounting for these deeper geopolitical issues.


This is not tiddlywinks, folks. This involves serious national security and geopolitical alliance issues. Yes, Virginia, there are clear ties between Iran and Venezuela, as there are between China and Venezuela. This is not some hyped up propaganda about chemical warfare or weapons of mass destruction, like what was used to justify the Iraq war. What we have here is clear, present, multidimensional danger.


It is helpful to dissect this strategically, because most mainstream reporting examines it only through the lens of sanctions or “rogue states cooperating,” while missing the deeper reality of the relationship. This isn’t just geopolitics; it’s the new face of modular, sanctions-resistant warfare.


Let’s focus on one example to illustrate the point. Over the past several years, there has been substantial evidence that Iran has indeed helped Venezuela establish local drone manufacturing capacity, particularly of Iranian-designed UAVs like the Mohajer and Shahed families.

 

The Core of the Iran–Venezuela Drone Collaboration

Iran and Venezuela have been under heavy U.S. sanctions for years. Both nations share a strategy of technological autarky. Technological autarky is the policy goal of making a country self-sufficient in critical technologies, so it does not rely on foreign nations for the development, production, or maintenance of essential tech systems. Both countries are considered rogue and, over the years, have faced numerous economic embargoes.

Iran’s drone program is one of its most successful export-ready industries. Drones became Iran’s key asymmetric deterrent capability in the 2010s and 2020s, primarily through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).


Around 2022, reports emerged that Venezuela had opened facilities believed to be assembling Iranian Shahed drones, possibly under local rebranding such as the “ANSU-200” or “Mohajer-6 variant.” The collaboration seems focused on the Aragua state near the CAVIM (Compañía Anónima Venezolana de Industrias Militares) complex. Engineers from Iran reportedly supplied designs, parts, and training for Venezuelan technicians.

 

This fits into Tehran’s expansion of its “Axis of Resistance” strategy.

Tehran’s “Axis of Resistance” is best understood as an Iranian-led proxy network created to destabilize the Middle East and elsewhere while providing Iran with plausible deniability. Instead of directly confronting the United States or Israel, Iran funds, supplies, and trains militant groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and aligned militias in Iraq and Syria to carry out asymmetric warfare, threaten civilians, and disrupt global trade routes.


This approach allows Tehran to expand its regional influence, encircle Israel, pressure U.S. allies, and weaken sovereign governments, all while avoiding the risks of open conflict. In reality, the “Axis” functions less as a defensive alliance and more as a state-sponsored terror network that sustains conflict and erodes regional stability.

This is why Iran has established drone manufacturing hubs in friendly states to export influence. And as for Caracas, drones have offered internal security leverage and a psychological counterweight to the United States and Colombia.


This is not pure outsourcing like a corporation would do; it’s a strategic joint technological transfer. Iran effectively externalized parts of its drone production: components, training, or even complete assembly lines to allied nations, including:

  • ·        Venezuela

  • ·        Sudan (previously)

  • ·        Syria

  • ·        Russia (especially via Shahed-136 production)

 

Venezuela functions as a Latin American manufacturing node that reduces Iran’s logistical and political exposure while creating a regional arms customer base aligned with anti-U.S. movements.

Independent and institutional open sources converge on the strategic truth of the following factual points:

  • ·        Venezuelan state manufacturer CAVIM publicly showcased drones (otherwise known as UAVs) that are clearly identical to the Iranian Mohajer-6 drones.

  • ·        Iranian engineers were confirmed to be present under “technical cooperation agreements.”

  • ·        The partnership coincides with other Iranian drone export hubs in Russia, Tajikistan, and Syria.

 

Interested observers can easily verify the entire structure of the claim through these open publications; it’s not a rumour, it’s fully documented in official and defence-sector reporting across 2022–2024 (references found at the end of this article)


In early 2026, the use of Iranian-made drones by Venezuela has intensified, with the Mohajer-6 drone now reportedly operational in the Venezuelan military, capable of both surveillance and armed strikes. This development follows years of cooperation between Iran and Venezuela, including the transfer of drone technology and munitions, with U.S. sanctions targeting entities involved in the production and assembly of these drones in Venezuela. The United States has consistently accused Iran of supplying drones and precision-guided munitions to Venezuela, a claim Iran denies.

  • ·        Iranian Drone Proliferation in Venezuela: Iranian-made Mohajer-6 drones have been confirmed in service with the Venezuelan military, with images showing them at El Libertador Air Base. These drones can carry small guided munitions and perform reconnaissance and strike missions, marking a shift from earlier surveillance-only roles. The drones are believed to be equipped with Iranian Qaem guided glide bombs, which have been displayed in Venezuela.

  • ·        U.S. Sanctions and Diplomatic Pressure: The U.S. has imposed multiple rounds of sanctions targeting Iranian and Venezuelan entities involved in the drone trade. In December 2025, the Treasury Department sanctioned Venezuela-based company, Empresa Aeronautica Nacional SA, and its chair, Jose Jesus Urdaneta Gonzalez, for coordinating drone production with Iranian and Venezuelan military officials. In January 2026, the U.S. imposed further sanctions on companies linked to a combat drone network tied to the Maduro regime.

  • ·        Recent Drone Activity and Escalation: A drone strike on a Venezuelan port facility on December 29, 2025, was publicly claimed by Donald Trump and later attributed by reports to a CIA operation, heightening tensions between the U.S. and Venezuela. While the attack’s details remain unconfirmed, it underscores the growing role of drones in regional conflict dynamics and U.S. strategic operations.

 

New photographic evidence confirms the deployment of Iranian-made Mohajer-6 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at Venezuela’s El Libertador Air Base, marking the first visual confirmation of the drone’s operational presence in Latin America and highlighting the deepening military cooperation between Iran and Venezuela. This development underscores the expansion of Venezuela’s drone capabilities, now including armed reconnaissance platforms produced with Iranian assistance, which pose new operational risks to U.S. forces in the Caribbean region.

  • ·        The Mohajer-6, a combat UAV with intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, is manufactured by Iran’s Qods Aviation Industries (QAI) and assembled in Venezuela under the oversight of Empresa Aeronáutica Nacional S.A. (EANSA), a Venezuelan state-owned firm. EANSA maintains and oversees the assembly of QAI’s Mohajer-series UAVs in Venezuela and has directly negotiated with QAI, contributing to the sale of millions of dollars’ worth of Mohajer-6 drones to Venezuela.

  • ·        The drone program began in 2006 with a technical-military agreement between Iran and Venezuela, which included drone technology transfer, training, and parts supply. Iranian-made Mohajer-2 kits were used to assemble the first Venezuelan drone, the Arpía-001, in 2009, and the program has since evolved into a sophisticated arsenal modelled on Iranian designs.

  • ·        The ANSU-100, an updated, armed version of the Arpía-001, is a direct derivative of the Mohajer-2 and is capable of launching Iranian-designed Qaem air-to-ground guided bombs, making Venezuela the first Latin American country to operate armed drones. The ANSU-200 is a flying-wing prototype inspired by Iranian stealth designs, presented as “next-generation technology”.

Conclusion

The rise of Iranian drones, which are “Made in Venezuela,” marks a pivotal transformation in how state power and warfare are projected under the shadow of sanctions. So, what some dismiss as peripheral cooperation is, in truth, a calculated step in a broader pattern of distributed deterrence. These rogue nation-states are learning to duplicate, conceal, and localize military technology outside the reach of Western pressure. The Iran–Venezuela drone partnership is not an isolated curiosity; it is a blueprint for how sanctioned states will survive and adapt in the coming decade.


If the United States and its allies fail to grasp this shift, they will continue to misread the architecture of global power; focusing on visible battlefields while ignoring a sprawling network of silent factories, hidden engineers, and modular weapons ecosystems operating far beyond conventional oversight.


The battlefield of the 2020s is not merely kinetic; it is manufactured in the margins. And drone capabilities and manufacturing capacity will play a key role in determining the outcome of kinetic warfare for the foreseeable future. Current Iranian military leadership is many things, but stupid is not one of them.
